Syncere and Amor come from two different worlds, but their hearts beat in the same rhythm. Amor is a dedicated RN, carving her place in the medical field with poise and purpose. Her life is orderly, controlled—until Syncere steps in and flips her world upside down. As a leader in a global drug operation, Syncere is no stranger to chaos. Love wasn’t part of his plan, but when he meets Amor, he can’t help but fall hard. Their passion burns bright, but life has a way of testing even the strongest of flames. As danger creeps closer, they’re forced to confront whether their love can survive the whirlwind that threatens to tear them apart. Truth and Desirae’s love story is raw, and undeniable. Desirae is a rising supermodel with beauty that commands attention, but her path hasn’t been without heartache. Truth, another power player in the same illicit world, first met her as a teenager when tragedy brought them together. Their connection was instant, their bond unbreakable—until life tore them apart. Reuniting five years later, they’re older, wiser, and still drawn to each other like moths to a flame. Outside forces and personal demons make their love feel like a battlefield. As their worlds collide and their hearts are tested, they’re left with one question…Is love enough to survive the war they’re fighting?
This is a really good book. I was in love in the beginning, entranced in the middle and pissed off by the end. Slow down while editing though as there are quite a few errors. Stick to one point of view because I was getting whiplash 😧. Overall I’m waiting for the next one. Just read the damn book.
This book was so very good. I can’t wait for part two. It definitely takes you for a world wind of a ride with real everyday life struggles. Just be prepared to show numerous emotions.
This book took me on a rollercoaster, I went from loving the characters to finding myself heated at the dumb decisions being made. I’m invested I wish I would have known this was going to be a series cause I would have waited to read it. I despise being on cliffs. I’m in it now and can’t wait for book 2, hopefully the wit won’t be too long! Overall good read though I would recommend.
This book had me swooning from the very beginning! I loved how Amor and Syn’s first meeting was filled with such a genuine spark, and watching Rae and Truth reconnect brought so much warmth. The way these men showed up for their women, clear and intentional, was everything Amor and Rae were both already thriving in their dreams, doing what they loved. Seeing them as confident and accomplished individuals with passions of their own made their characters even more enjoyable to follow. However by the time I got to the end of the book I was so mad at Syn & Truth🤬. Love is clearly not enough because 🥴
Now this was a good read and all but I had caught some editing issues that annoyed me. If we get introduced to a character as one name PLEASE KEEP IT CONSISTENT. Like we meet Promise but for the rest of the story after her intro she getting called missy, I had to take myself back a few chapters like who the hell is this lmao. We had an issue toward the end where Mochas name was swapped with Chanel and that made for a mind f*ck.
Overall the couples issues in this story were easily fixed with real communication and some therapy on Syn &Amors part. As for truth he’s WAAAACK af because why would you get THE TOP MODEL and think she wanna stay home playing mommy for life??? Like is it CRACK? Then he ain’t even offer himself up to be home mans was pressed for her to be with they child like UHMM YOU A DAD TOO. I hope both ladies get they lick back and cause them pain and suffering while bossing up and never looking back. The affair partner choices were dumb as well, like truth you wanna be Keyshia Cole I should’ve cheated heada** so bad and you gonna choose the same thirsty broad that sent you the pictures that crumbled your marriage 🗣 officer lock him up for being the dumbest crook ever. Rae you choosing a man who gave you the heebee jeebies off top ??? Yeah officer we got another dummy. I’m not sure if I’ll read part two cus the drama felt too predictable and easily resolved. I also don’t like when too many characters start getting together lol like everyone in the gang don’t need love lmaoo uncouple these folks and leave them out of this story please.
I also couldn’t keep up with the grief journeys lol somebody mama died somebody daddy died somebody friend died. Like it’s too much
So… I actually give this book a 3.5 rating. I don’t remember reading a book by Aja Cornish and I actually liked the book, but the editing had my head hurting. I’d start reading about one person and two sentences down, I would read another name, but it was talking about the same person. The paragraph would start with first person and in the middle of a sentence would go to third person. Fortunately I got invested in the storyline, so I’ll be reading book two, but I will definitely take a break first. I was also disappointed with the lies and cheating within the relationships.
But this was not good. This book clearly needs to be EDITED! The pacing of the story and then all the infidelity after building these couples up to be soulmates made no sense to me.
I don’t even want them to have a HEA. I would like them to leave these toxic relationships and move on.
Idk this story had slight potential but there were too many mistakes and errors. Things you couldn’t ignore.
It ends on a cliffhanger after 32 chapter and 440 pages. I fell for the okie dokie in reading this before the 2nd book was available. We thought it was going to be an easy breezy HEA book...but nope you'll have drama down to the last page. Get ready.
This book was all over the place. The life of streets and not being faithful. I was on the edge of my seats. All the plot twists. You never know what is going on in the main characters lives.
This book was emotional but filled with so many realistic situations and felt like I was watching a movie. Sometimes love really isn't enough to keep the person you love in your life.
