Finally free from her abusive ex-husband, Donna has her family’s fortune, their properties, and their business back under her control. She’s ready to reconnect with the man who inspired her to break out - a younger man she met four years ago named Matthew Johns. Soon after her return to her ancestral home on the island of Ibiza, Donna encounters Kellan Fambrough, a British novelist with his own secrets, on sabbatical and searching for inspiration. And the last thing she needs is to find herself growing attached to him - perhaps even seeing a future with him - when her ex-husband will stop at nothing to get her and her money back under his control. In the end, it will take more than determination to overcome Enrico Pazzi, save themselves, and find their happily ever after.
What's there to say about Thomas? He's a husband, a cat dad, and a motion graphic designer. But most importantly, Thomas loves whimsy, joy, and happily ever afters. When he's not plotting, drafting, editing, or marketing, he's enjoying fine coffees, beers, and whiskey. He can also be found playing video games, enjoying music, reading, or traveling. He lives in San Antonio, Texas, with his wife and three cats.
This was my first time reading Thomas A. Bishop and it was quite enjoyable. The FMC has great a boss b*tch attitude, but she softens to the MMC which is adorable. I loved that Donna knew what she wanted and wasn’t afraid to call the shots. Kellan was a sweetheart, totally understanding and infatuated with Donna. I wish he had shown a little more emotional range, but he was still a great MMC. The story has lots going on, which makes the characters motivation change from time to time but it all works.
