When Eva puts out bangers, I fangirl!! This one was delicious. Lots of horror movie references. Regan, my girl, had a horrible tragic thing happen to her when she was 15 it left marks on her body and mind. But she's trying to move on and try to Conquer her fear of dating so she signs up for a kinksters dating app so she has control over what happens and she can replace a horrible memory with a good one. But sadly, little did she know she has a tiny stalker lol. Landon, the owner of the site and he had his own problems. Demons that still haunt him, he tries.. keyword TRIES to keep his distance from Regan, but they just match. He does mess up her matches, which I find funny, lol. He did get jelly of what he was doing. Don't worry them dates ended badly, and well, she got a gift or 2 from Landom talk about gory presents.
These two dance around each other a few times, but they slowly start to stop fighting the attraction. The spiceeeee is delicious. Eva knows how to make them panties drop heheh.
Don't worry, we also have drama for the couple with the past, and I'll tell you I did shed a few tears at what happened.

landon had his company, a dating website for the dark and depraved. he didn’t have time or had any interest in using his site to find someone or delve into his wants and needs. he just simply existed and put his company first. that is until regan finally found herself on this website. she listed all the kinks she’s down for and one in particular peaked landon’s interest. through all this time, he fantasized about her, and watched her through the screen. fourteen days he spent his days looking at regan’s profile. fourteen days hiding behind the screen just watching her, he swore he wouldn’t insert himself in her life because of his past. but when men suddenly start flooding her messages with harmful and disgusting words, he simply had enough 😏 this man took “touch her and die” and flipped it around to “look at her profile and your eyeballs are gifted to her and you’re dead” 🤭
i literally giggled my ass off while landon went on his little killing spree. that’s so concerning but i was HERE FOR IT !!
regan 🖤 oh i just wanted to be with her and read crazy books with her. this girl was sexual assaulted one night walking home through central park. she forced herself to stay strong and not break in front of her loved ones because she knew it would destroy them even more. she learned how to defend herself and always stayed strapped with !! she became such a force to be reckoned with and everything about her is pure badass energy. i love how she held herself during a time where she had all the right in the world to break down. but i also love how she submitted and knew she was safe around landon 🥹 she’s beautiful. she’s everything.
i actually never wanted to leave regan and landon omg 😭 i wanted to be with them for as long as possible. these two went through so much growing up. the fact that they found each other when one was about to give up and the other just starting to open up, was everything !! the revenge plot was chefs fucking kiss 😚🤌🏼 i couldn’t stop reading

Eva, your writing in this piece is nothing short of extraordinary! I find myself truly at a loss for words. This book is an absolute masterpiece! The way you have crafted the relationship between London and Regan is exceptional, capturing the complexity and depth of their connection with such finesse. Their chemistry leaps off the page, making it clear that they are meant for one another. London, in particular, stands out as a brilliantly unhinged character; his intensity and unpredictability add a fascinating layer to the story. I can honestly say he’s my favorite character of yours to date—his complexity keeps me enthralled and eager for more.

Landon is crazy. Regan is the victim. Somehow, they fit together like two pieces of an insane puzzle. If this were real life, you’d run like hell, but in the context of a dark romance, Landon and Regan have smokin’ hot chemistry.
This book is packed with triggers. So yeah, when my eyebrows weren’t up in my hairline, they were furrowed so hard I was probably giving myself premature wrinkles. But overall, I really enjoyed the story... except for one thing that was so unbelievable I just couldn’t overlook it.

Sigh. This really would have been a 5 star read if not for two of my least favorite plot lines in a dark romance.
1. When the H promises retribution on the evil man who raped/tortured his girl, promises something like “I won’t fail you” and then LITERALLY two pages later, fails her, and she ends up kidnapped again by the same psycho because H did not think things through. UGHHH I hate it! Why do authors do this stupid “plot twist” I would have much preferred if he just got to torture her rapist immediately, but instead the author chose to make poor Regan suffer even more after everything she had been through. It’s so overdone and makes the hero look super weak in my eyes. Landon was great, we didn’t need that third act plot twist, and I’m forever salty about authors using female pain to further their storylines. It’s old, it’s tired, it’s bullshit.
2. Regan supposedly grew up watching horror movies, her dad is a famous horror genre writer, and Landon is supposedly a psycho killer, but you’re telling me you couldn’t come up with a more creative torture than raping the villain with a spiked bat up his ass? I mean come on what is this amateur hour?! She suffered for YEARS, and can’t have kids. Thats a lifelong trauma. This rapist got to die so quickly. There are ways to keep a person alive for days torturing them!!! It’s what Regan deserved! It’s what ALL the babies that monster raped, deserve! I HATE when they kill the villain too easily ugh. Make him suffer for weeks! Burn him! Cut out his tongue and put salt on the wound! Starve him! Cut off his legs and bribe a nurse to heal him so you can do it all over again! Peel his skin off while blasting some Taylor swift music! Oh damn. Maybe I need to seek a therapist. But man I was so annoyed because if you’re gonna write a dark romance the least you could do is be prepared to do the work and google torturing a rapist 101.

I love that Landon calls Regan "Little Lamb". What happened to Landon's parents is heartbreaking. I like how Landon came across Regan's profile. The fact that Landon put a wall up on Regan's profile so no one else would see it is genius. I didn't expect the gifts Landon gave Regan. Their first meeting was different. I love how strong Landon makes Regan. The ending was crazy.
I absolutely love this story but it was very hard to get through. The trigger warnings are there for a reason so please read them. Eva is such a good story teller and sucks you right into all her stories. She continues to write bangers and I love them all.

This book is dark. It's really really dark. I think it's the darkest book I've read so far 🙈 It's the first book I've read by Eva yet, and I'll definitely read more 😎 And am I ashamed of it? NO. Definitely NOT. I hate it when people think that dark romance is bad. Why? People read thrillers or other books about $er!al k!IIer$ but if it's in a romance book, it's not ok? Go f yourself! Stop judging people about what they are reading!
I'm not sure what I expected about the book. To be honest, I rarely read anything about a book I'm going to read. It's just the tropes and the TW/CW I'm reading when I'm signing up for an ARC of a new-to-me author. I saw Eva on threads talking about her books all the time and I just knew I had to put at least one on my TBR (that means, I'll REALLY read them in the next few months). While I checked which one, I saw there was a new one, so the decision was made 😉
And here I am, not knowing what to write about it 🙈 Because there is so much happening in the book and I'm afraid I'll spoil anything...
I'm lucky I never experienced anything of what happened to Regan. Nobody should experience it! So, of course, I felt sorry for her. But she is also a strong woman. She survived and she lives 💪 Yes, with nightmares, but still she lives.
And Landon? OMG 🥵 I'm not sure if he is still a morally grey guy or if he is already full of 🚩 🙈 But he is 🔥 so 🔥. I think I would fall for him too if I were Regan 😎 I mean, come on, other guys send flowers and Landon sends 👀 Isn't that 🔥? I love it when touch her and ☠️ isn't just a saying 😁

Dark, fast-paced, and spicy af!

I just found a new favorite author! This baby right here was the perfect blend of spice, darkness, obsession, and love. I couldn't get enough.
Landon has my whole heart (and panties lol). He was so funny when he shouldn't be, so caring, obsessed, dark... I need this man biblically. His story was extremely sad and I was so happy when he 'met' Regan. His tech abilities really came in clutch. He was the perfect anti-hero and I couldn't get enough of that last 5 chapters. Live, laugh, love, get yourself a serial killer that only kills for you.
Regan was such a resilient and strong character. She got over what happened to her on her terms and wasn't going to let anyone take that from her. She got her pound of flesh and it couldn't make me happier.

Will be checking the rest of Eva's books (we have the same name lol) and already signed up for an ARC for her next one. That should tell you how much I enjoyed her writing.

I just found a new favorite author! This baby right here was the perfect blend of spice, darkness, obsession, and love. I couldn't get enough.
Landon has my whole heart (and panties lol). He was so funny when he shouldn't be, so caring, obsessed, dark... I need this man biblically. His story was extremely sad and I was so happy when he 'met' Regan. His tech abilities really came in clutch. He was the perfect anti-hero and I couldn't get enough of that last 5 chapters. Live, laugh, love, get yourself a serial killer that only kills for you.
Regan was such a resilient and strong character. She got over what happened to her on her terms and wasn't going to let anyone take that from her. She got her pound of flesh and it couldn't make me happier.

Moth to a flame…..can we just take a minute to appreciate how this book is written, well done Eva Marks.
What a freakishly good crazy ass book!
Landon is as crazy as they come but in an obsessive & possessive way, I mean he sends the eyeballs of anyone who looks at his girl Regan, as a gift, wrapped in a velvet box of course.
Landon loves hard & he will do anything to help fix his one true love who at 15 was raped & beaten. This includes her desire for CNC, he does it all for her & it’s HOT!
This book crosses the line in so many good ways, it’s kinky, pushes boundaries & it’s raw.
The last few chapters were my fav! Brutal, bloody & sick, just how I like things.

Dark romance is probably a top genre for me and I feel like I’ve read some darkkk stuff but this was BEYOND anything I’ve ever read. Everyone has their ‘thing’ or their fantasy but good god this author needs to be checked into a psych ward or something … this is ur warning: major sexualisation of 🍇

I would have finished in a day, had I not started it late on (story of my life) and a couple of ARCs came up. However, this did not distract me from this story 🥵

Will she find peace, pain or promise?

It was interesting until it wasnt ..
things which didnt make sense . ( some of them could be seen as spoilers , so be aware.)
He is a CEO and has the money of the world , yet , he couldnt have an advanced security system to protect his house from low criminals ?
He is a CEO of a dating App , yet he is unethical? ( this one I could let it aside since it involved a woman , and of course a woman could make a man go out of his way for her. )
The Age is just a number in this book :
- MMC is 35 yet his actions looked like a reckless 23 years old man ( with all due respect to mature 23 years old man )
FMC is 25 yes she sound like 19 years old .
The labels which didnt fit at some scenes :
MMC said he didnt kill anyone , yet in his three crimes , the police didnt trace ? like he was perfect in executing the murders ?
Unfitting / forced and unsmooth reactions/ actions :
When FMC finds out about MMC being the one sending the gifts , she was not terrified . ( I guess the author wanted to show how this says about FMC characteristic - but more explanation might have make it justifiable . Also , when she received the gift , she just kept them !? ( I knew it, it was all because of her dad telling horror stories when she was in mama's womb. )
I know the book is all about smut , but , really ?
There was a scene were the FMC tries to get her gun while the MMC caged her and out of nowhere he pull her leggings down and started having her down there ? how? I imagined her running towards the weapon and her legs were busy taking her to the said weapon and booom !! he is down there proving to the readers that the book is , indeed , about smut.
another scene where they finished inflicting their punishment towards the Rapist and then they got turned on that they forgot about the body and wanted to have it there way beside the body . ( I guesss the author wanted to tell us they officially lost it. )
I go lost in the foreplay :
At some point , I wasnt sure where the reality stopped and foreplay started :
They were talking , and then baaam !! they were talking about being raped ( him rapeing her and her being submissive to it. )

The Dog MOJO ( our compass to identify good or bad people ) :
When MMC attached her in the night and she was scared then looked at her dog ( which the dog did nothing but looked at them ) she calmed down , reasoning that the stranger ( MMC) is not dangerous since her dog didnt Woof . ( please note that the FMC was caged by a stranger AKA MMC in the dark and any sane person would try to fight back and see that this is danger ( with the dog's woof or without ) . But no , no , no , this book wants to show us to trust our doggie. if the stranger was cupping our mouth and our doggie didnt woof , it means that we are safe . ( Glad to know really. )
The gun scene. what was that ? and what's with the MMC putting his mouth around the tip of the gun and then his eyes roll back ( the later was sexy - I admit )
Naming the weapon names ( Jigsaw ) . Every time FMC calls the gun Jigsaw , I cringed and looked around checking if anyone is witnessing my embarrassment. It was weird and not in the good way .
the black nail polish :
MMC nails are painted black . Let's go back with the age again , He is a 35 years old CEO and had his nails painted ? Dont get me wrong, they can do whatever they want to , paint it pink for all I care . I just dont see it fitting the image of MMC . ( it seemed forced as if the author was thinking ' how can I make MMC more weird and different from all the other MMCs .. Oh , I know , let's get his nails painted .'
The punishing chapters :
both MMC and FMC reminded me of Chuky and his girl . Both were psychos and unhinged and seemed to have lost what's left from their brain cells.
I have a lot to talk about this chapters but no words to describe. But let's say , The rapist deserved what's got to him .
I just dont the scene reasonable or realistic . ( when I say realistic, I mean realistic in the book kind of way.)
Also , some lines and conversations where just random and out of the blue. ( I should have screenshot them and put them below so you get what I mean , but for now , you have to trust me in this one.

Imagine this, you make a dating profile that caters to your darkest desires. You log in, day after day to find your match.. but you get little to no response from its other members. You find out later that the reason you can’t make any matches is because the owner has hidden you away from the view of other users so that he could take you for himself. This is the story that Eva Marks weaves. Regan wants to heal from the horrors of her past and Landon wants to avoid repeating his mother’s bloody legacy. The two get into a fast paced and intense relationship that has left them both feeling intoxicated in each other’s presence. But demons of the past always have a way to enter your future and throw everything you have into jeopardy. It all comes down to life and death.
This review took me longer than usual to write, because of how affected I was by it. I feel like a crucial change in my soul was made the minute I picked up this novel… and I couldn’t find the words to express how much I truly loved this book. So bear with me here.
Landon and Regan are perfect for each other. They are harmonious together and they have a certain flare to them that is just addictive. They are so unique and they just balance each other out so beautifully. Them, mixed with the secondary characters are all amazing. Each person holds a significance to the story and their presence just enhances the story.
I have to say though, that my absolute favorite part of this book is Regan’s metamorphosis into a confident and strong woman. She took her tragedy and used it as a pillar of strength. She reclaimed her sexuality and sensuality with Landon. She is a beautiful character that I heavily associate with. As a fellow Survivor, I understand what is required to build your life back up and how it isn’t overnight. I love how Marks didn’t rush this transformation and she didn’t minimize Regan’s pain.
This is normally the spot where I say something witty, but once again I am at a loss for words. All I can say is, this book is not one you want to miss. The entire book was written flawlessly and it’s a book I’m never going to forget.

I was genuinely disappointed when I turned the last page of this story because I had become completely absorbed in the richly developed characters. The dynamic between the couple was electrifying; they complemented each other perfectly, and their chemistry crackled like fire. Their relationship was filled with steamy moments and unexpected twists that kept me on the edge of my seat.
The revenge plot woven throughout the narrative added an extra layer of thrill, combining clever strategies with intense confrontations that left me breathless. The shadows of their past traumas were heavy and haunting, yet the way they navigated their pain together was both impressive and intense. It showcased their strength and vulnerability, illustrating how love can help heal even the deepest wounds.
This book was dark and edgy (please check for trigger warnings), and it completely drew me in. Now, I find myself wanting a Viking with black fingernails! Every chapter felt like an exhilarating ride that I never wanted to end!

Regan & Landon - slow burn, WHO?! 🤭 you want a fast burn-the world down for you- romance with dark pasts and unique gore? This is the book for you.
I definitely would advise checking the TW/CW list because there is the heavy topic of SA. In a way this is the powerful story of her vengeance her reclaiming her power and trusting Landon to be her hero by letting her seek her revenge.

This story was everything I wanted in a dark and twisty stalker romance that would easily hold its own against the likes of some of your Barnes and Noble reads. Landon takes touch her and cease to exist to the next level with a little souvenir wrapped up with a pretty bow. We love a man who will avenge his woman. The we have our FMC who has taken her trauma into her own hands and is coming out on the other end a complete baddie regardless of how many pieces of herself she has to leave behind. These characters were richly developed and completely unhinged. I couldn’t get enough and inhaled this book with a ravenous appetite. Our author did phenomenal work in formulating a perfect horror story while nodding respectfully to the classics. 5⭐️5🌶️

This book had been sitting on my Kindle for far too long, and I’m honestly disappointed I didn’t read it sooner. It was that good.

This book had been sitting on my Kindle for far too long, and I’m honestly disappointed I didn’t read it sooner. It was that good.

Had high hopes for this. So many of the tropes appealed to me, but the writing style did not pull me in and the story just started grinding on my nerves.
