Grumpy Boss of the Year

Dear Mr. Gallagher,

I do not need this job. In fact, I will remind you that I’m doing you a favor. I am working for you only because I don’t want you to inflict your grumpiness on my friends any longer. I am a strong, confident woman and know how to put men like you in their place.

I won’t succumb to your flirtations or your attempts to try and shock me. I am not impressed by your six-pack or your six-figure bank account. I suggest you realize that I am out of your league in so many ways, it’s not even funny.

Concentrate on your business endeavors, and I will concentrate on completing your projects on time.

Your assistant for a short time,

Elisabetta Franco

Elisabetta,

I can feel how much you're aching for me to take you on a date through this computer screen. In an attempt to be

The six-pack is an eight-pack.The six-figure bank account is actually nine figures. Are you awarding me the Grumpy Boss of the Year award?Because, darling, trust me, there are other awards I’d much rather earn.

Your boss, here for a good time,

Liam Gallagher

As I stare at Liam’s email, there is one thing I know to be true in my life. I never should have accepted a job working for this jerk of a man. I am very much a goldfish swimming in shark-infested waters.

2.5 too much blah blah blah and not much substance. Not an author that's at the top of my list

First off, I was given this book to review as an ARC member. I LOVE all of J. S. Cooper's books and couldn't wait to read Grumpy Boss of the Year, which is the 4th book of a series. Liam and Elisabette started not liking each other, but you could tell there are sparks between the two of them. When Liam becomes so grumpy and demanding that Elisabette's three friends can't handle him anymore, she steps in and volunteers to work for him to spare her friends from dealing with the grumpy boss. Liam and Elisabette start to play a cat and mouse game with each other and end up falling in love. However, along the way, there are twists and turns and secrets are not shared. Will this prevent the two lovebirds from being together, or will love prevail? A story that once you start, you can't put down. I highly recommend it.

I have loved this series of books because they have been written so well. The humor is like lightning strikes. Liam and Elisabetta have an interesting twist to their story. The storyline is more emotional charged than the other books in this series . It deals with some serious issues and the complications that come with them. The banter between Liam and Elizabetta is very funny and sexually charged. They are very drawn to each other. This book has been a mystery to me because everything is not what it seems to begin with. It is definitely a love story that is very unconventional and complicated. I love all the moving parts of the storyline and how it has building tension then it has twists to the plot. This is the first time for Liam to choose love over business because he is so involved in his business that he has never maintained a relationship with a woman. He does have a sister and a niece that he loves but never a romantic relationship. His policy was to keep his dates to sexual release but never with feelings. Then Elizabetta comes in his life mainly because of a business deal he wants but she quickly becomes so much more to him. This is their story to tell. It is very interesting and unconventional. I think this is my favorite story in this series so far. JS Cooper did an outstanding job with this book. I could not put it down once I started reading it. Plus I will definitely revisit it again. I would give her and this book more than 5 stars if possible.

Differentiating Between Love and Loyalty -
Elisabetta thought stepping into a job for Liam was an altruistic move on her part, but what she didn’t know was that it was all part of a plan. Liam’s plan was to antagonise Elisabetta to an extent that she would agree to her father’s request. However, fate turned the tables on Elisabetta and Liam, as their tension filled moments whilst spending time together, turned into an all consuming attraction. Nevertheless, their budding romance was disrupted when Liam revealed her father’s plan, but Elisabetta was able to put her anger aside for the benefit of the bigger picture.

Unfortunately, just after Elisabetta’s father’s plan came to fruition, Liam’s guilt made him reveal a bigger secret he had been keeping from her, that turned her life upside down and led her to break up with him. Luckily, Liam’s love for Elisabetta led him to do everything possible to convince her of his true love for her, so she would give them a chance at a future together, which she ultimately did. This story is a scorching hot an£ tension-filled romance story, that I am glad I got a chance to read. J. S. Cooper took me on an epic reading experience, that left me wanting more. This book definitely deserves to be on your TBR now.

I received an advanced copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Thank you Jaime for the ARC, you once again got me with Elizabetta and Liam. As much as I love Juniper and Remington, I found this couple to be just as good and possibly the hotter of all. You would think that Elizabetta would be a spoiled princess, completely pampered, but she was more complex and endearing, an example that money can’t buy happiness. Liam wasn’t all perfect either with his own insecurities and business deals that almost broke him. Together they were electric and holy cow for day 1 at work.

Jaime I love the banter you put between the couples in your book. It never fails to make me smile that my kids wonder what I’m scrolling through on my phone.

What a fun, flirty and back and forth banter between these two regarding their work tasks. He infuriated her, yet she antagonize him, what a pair they made. Yet, little did she know he had secrets he was hiding from her, and her dad had gotten himself into a financial situation and needed her help to get out of it. Sadly it could make her doubt her feeling for Liam, and question everything!.

a bit hard to read

I found this book challenging and almost DNF’d several times.

The biggest challenge is that the way it’s written made it difficult to always tell who was speaking/thinking at any given moment. There were also some typos which were mildly annoying.

Also, there were plot points that were brought up and then never really discussed again, like Brigade, and losses and then Liam ignores his business completely but poof, everything is better than fine. Hotels, what hotels? And what happened to her blog? Giant missing plots that made the book excessively long considering they didn’t go anywhere. 🤷‍♀️

This is book for in The Annoying Hot Bosses Club series and it is Liam and Elisabetta’s story and omg it is definitely a must read. Elisabetta’s father is very wealthy and spoils her but she doesn’t know anything about what he does or what his business is and now he wants to arrange a ball for her so that she can find a eligible man to marry so that it helps her father’s business but what she wants is too find her own man to love and not be some man’s possession because she wants to be seen as the woman she is while getting her life in order without all the complications. Liam is a big client for the law firm and he wants a office there because he has a agenda to follow and even though he had been using the assistant’s that are already there he is making all there lives difficult and because Elisabetta is friends with them she steps in to work for Liam so that her friends don’t have to and even though she had never worked before in her life she is a intelligent woman and even though Liam knows it is a dad decision to let her work with him it actually fell into his plans but things had now become even more complicated than he really wanted. Liam and Elisabetta are definitely attracted to each other but Liam didn’t do relationships or commitments as work had become his goal and he always wanted to make more money but Elisabetta is looking for love so nothing can become of them ever being together and also there are many secrets surrounding them and if they are ever revealed it could completely ruin and blow everything apart so where does that leave them both in the end. Wow I love the chemistry, characters, banter and the back and forth bickering between them and some of the scenes between Liam and Elisabetta are so explosive and you can feel the sparks flying all around them and there are some emotional moments along with betrayal that makes you feel like you are there with them and living through everything. I read this book in one sitting because I just couldn’t put it down and had to keep turning the pages to see what would happen next and I really enjoyed all the engaging talk between Elisabetta’s and her friends and also Liam and his friends and I can’t wait to read the next book in this amazing series. J S Cooper is a amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her readers attention throughout while they are reading her books and I definitely recommend you read this book and others by her and you will not be disappointed.

Funny, witty, page turner. The spice and seduction were perfect blend of naughty and hot just like Liam and Elisabetta. Liam’s and Elisabetta’s banter was hilarious. Loved the character development of Liam and the depth of Elisabetta’s character. I was not expecting the plot of this book and it had me invested and, I loved it.

Despite Elisabetta coming from wealth and having everything handed to her, she was still always longing for her father’s love, “dead” mother’s love, the love of a man who understood and loved her, and a purpose in life. Liam, who laughed at Max, Remington, and Kingston for finding love had vowed he would never fall for a woman to become just like them.

I definitely clutched my imaginary pearls when I found out Liam coming into Elisabetta’s life was all part of a plan he made with her father just to get her father’s hotel business in Greece and Italy. Elisabetta’s mother being alive was another shock.

What started off as a business deal with her father ended up in something far more than just another few millions/billions for Liam to pocket. Fighting with the guilt in his heart and the “logic” of his mind, for trying to do the right thing by telling Elisabetta the secrets he has been keeping or if he should to continue focusing on the business deal, Liam finally chooses to put the woman he loves first. But only after realizing he jeopardized their relationship and how important Elisabetta truly was to him.

Two confident yet strong willed characters not wanting to ever bend at the other’s will ended up realizing how great they are together and for each other.

Grumpy Boss of the Year is the fourth book of the Annoying Hot Bosses Club series, and this go round it will be Liam Gallaghers turn to fall head over heels for his assistant even though he doesn’t know it yet.
Elizabetta Franco belongs to a wealthy family and doesn’t need the job or money but her long suffering friends Lila, Skye, and Juniper who work for the attorneys of Chase, Parker, & Spector, who now also happen to be their boyfriends, need the pressure taken off from grumpy Liam’s lack of his own personal assistant.
With humor, drama, emotion, and spicy romance a nicely written story of contemporary love in the city will keep the pages turning and the heart fluttering as an entertaining and enjoyable story delivers another fine read in the series.

This was an amazing book full of naughty scenes that end up being exactly what you want them to be and that is love! This is a roller coaster ride of a story. Elisabetta has been rich all her live and never had a job. Her father has always taken care of her. Her mother died when she was very young and her father remarried and her stepmother had a son named Romeo. Elisabetta loved her brother and they both had a great relationship. hey talked to each other quite often. Elisabetta lived with Skye in New York until Skye moved in with her fiance Kingston. Now Elisabetta lived by herself but she wasn't by herself as she had all of her girlfriends. Skye, Lila, and Juniper. This is how she ends up with her first job. Each and every one of her friends worked for Liam Gallagher and professed that he was the boss from hell.

Liam was supposed to be the boss from hell to each and everyone of them accept for Elisabetta. He had made a deal with someone that he would get her to a certain place and in order to do that she had to like him or maybe even love him.... he used this deal in ways to not let her be an assistant but to be more than that, to actually have opinions that he did listen to. Until he realized that he himself could no longer lie to her as he was in fact falling in love with her.

How does this all end up? I can't tell you all I know is I laughed, I cried and I cried some more and then well yes it has a happy ending!

Thank you J.S. Cooper for another great book! It's fantastic! I think you owe me a box of kleenex though!

Love it!

Elisabetta seem a little dizzy to me at first but finding and feeling Liam's love seem to calm her down.Liam was a playboy until he met Betta then his life changed forever.Elizabetta was a pampered women when she met Liam and became his assistant but she didn't have any skills but she didn't need any because he has a few secrets he is hiding that involve her and they are going to hurt her when she fines out. They grow closer to together and Liam is developing feelings for her but he is gun shy because he always believes in a strong work life ,no time for love. They have the love talk and Liam tells her one of his secrets and of course she gets hurt feelings which she gets over but now he has one more and he doesn't know what to do and the mean his business life takes a hit but he tells his assistant (the real one) and the lawyers he doesn't care Elisabetta means more.He decides to tell her the last one which will change her life and his,it does go the way he expects and she is hurt and she casts him aside and he isn't going to give up,he just waits patiently and does something that he wouldn't do and it works! I have enjoyed all of the Grumpy Boss of the Year books and this one is my favorite! It dealt with kindness,to be strong and not give up,don't give up on love and be willing to change and the last it dealt with mental health!

This was absolutely amazing!! I just love this RomCom office romance.
I was so excited to read Liam’s book and it was everything I wanted and more.
His story is so fun, intriguing and HOT!!
I really enjoyed the banter and sexual tension between Liam and Elizabetta.
These characters are so incredibly interesting and fascinating.
The undeniable attraction and chemistry between them was SIZZLING!!

I liked Elizabetta’s character. She comes off as this high society socialite but this women has insecurities that even her closest friends aren’t privy to.
As for Liam, he may be this grumpy, attractive and smooth talking businessman but he to has his own problems that eat at him.
Together the form a working bond that is positively amusing and tantalizing.
Elizabetta works for Liam to help her friends out but she never thought how much satisfaction she would get from it.

So if you want a story that is funny, gives you the feels, is dramatic and has all those steamy moments we so enjoy, you will be happily satisfied with Liam and Elizabetta’s highly entertaining, passionate and engaging story.

Grumpy Boss of the Year is a delightful romantic romp that delivers laugh-out-loud moments, sizzling tension, and just the right amount of chaos. Liam, a no-nonsense lawyer, is definitely not in the market for love—or small talk, for that matter. Enter Elisabetta: sunshine in human form, volunteering to be his secretary with a smile that could melt the office copier. She's charming, chatty, and hiding the fact that her father believes in arranged marriages for her like it’s still the 1800s. Watching her shake up Liam’s perfectly organized world is like watching a cat try to ignore a laser pointer—glorious, hilarious chaos.

The push and pull between Liam’s grumpy exterior and Elisabetta’s sweet stubbornness is the stuff romantic comedies are made of. Their banter is snappy, their chemistry is undeniable, and their accidental moments of closeness? Absolutely swoon-worthy. Between courtroom drama, office hijinks, and a few unexpected heart-to-hearts, Grumpy Boss of the Year proves that love can show up where (and when) you least expect it—even if one of you is wearing a perfectly tailored frown.

Don't waste your time reading this book. The plot was all over the place, with almost zero substance matter. The wording will give you a trip all around the place and at the end you will understand nothing.

The heroine, Elisabetta, was a spoiled rich girl that usually your typical antagonist. She never had a job, mooching her father's allowance, sleeps around, basically useless. She keeps whining like a brat, and very immature despite being 25 y.o.

The hero, Liam, was rich English businessman and will put money above everything else. He's morally black about his business.

Their relationship, was only sexual to say it best. From the beginning, they both objectified each other and immediately get their mind on the gutter. I can't understand their state of mind most of the time, with how bad it was written. You thought they're in a fight, but they're bantering, then continue fighting, but not in a old-married-thingy. They both dumb, with Liam keep holding information from Elisabetta, and somehow because she's horny lady, she just relented. I mean.. welp.

Really, save yourself some time. Read another book.

This book is my favorite from this series. It had me hooked from the very first page. This is Liam's and Elisabetta 's story that doesn't give you the full picture until three-fourths of the way through, which just made it more interesting to see, especially in Liam's case. Liam is a high-profile client of the law firm that we see in the first three stories. Elisabetta tells him that she can be his assistant to help protect her friend Sky, who was overwhelmed from helping Liam. She knows that she can't handle the job, but she will do what she can to protect her friend. Their professional relationship changes when Liam realizes that Elisabetta is good at knowing what consumers would like as he is try to build a multiple area hotel empire. Their chemistry, as they are together, creates some hot tension moments that neither are quite sure how to handle the other person. As the story progresses, we see why Liam came to the States and how it affects his and Elisabetta's relationship. I'm looking forward to whatever story comes out next.

More Like Grumpy I’m No Longer a Boss Anymore lol

Grumpy Boss of the Year by J.S. Cooper is the fourth book in The Annoying Hot Bosses Club. Elisabetta and Liam’s story was just so intriguing and kept me wondering about what was still left to be be revealed, and I never in a million years would have guessed the outcome. It truly kept me guessing till the end and then it had me truly pleased with how she handled the revelation with grace and fury and humor in all the appropriate places, of course. Because let’s face it, when a woman is lied to, rage is gonna happen, but when it’s done for reasons to protect a person you gotta choose to show grace. Elisabetta was no push over and I felt like she was constantly waving her fingers at Liam and going “dance monkey dance” lol. Liam liked to think he was in control as he was the boss, but I am pretty sure he lost all control in his life the minute he allowed Elisabetta into his world.

Grumpy Boss of the Year is the 4th book of the series and what an amazing addition to the series it is! Liam and Elisabetta started out with a little hostility but you could tell there are definitely sparks between them. When Liam becomes so grumpy and demanding that Elisabetta’s three friends can't stand filling in for him as assistant, Elisabetta decides that she will be his assistant, even though she has never worked and has no qualifications other than her determination to spare her friends from dealing with the grumpy boss. Liam and Elisabetta are very flirtatious, both have difficulty keeping things professional. Things move quickly and before too long the are deeply in love. However, along the way, there are twists and turns, lies, secrets and betrayals, will their love be enough to overcome?
A story that once you start, you won’t be able to put it down!

Jaimie Does It Again.

Such a fun and hot read. If you are looking for an escape from the ordinary pick up this book. Elisabetta was a refreshing change of pace from her friends. She knew that she was attracted to Liam and wasn’t afraid to tease and go after him. Liam was less than honest in how he came to hire Betta. I loved his solution to her family problems. Liam and his ideas on commitment made me smile. He didn’t see it coming but after it hit he was all in. There was on other woman or other man problems for these two. They just had to get out of their own way and believe. It was great the Betta was able to find her niche in working with Liam. It was fun reconnecting with their friends from the previous books. Let’s not forget about Romeo, Elisabetta’s step-brother, he was a hoot. Trying not to give any spoilers.

Liam & Elisabetta

This is my first opportunity to read an ARC novel written by J.S. Cooper. The Blurb of this upcoming book sounded like an entertaining story to read but I felt let-down. It was okay & I kept telling myself it’ll get better. It didn’t flow as easily as it should have; finding out he made a bad deal buying a company, only to find out afterwards this company’s stock has tanked. Never did find out if his lawyers recouped his millions from buying this company under false info the owner was hiding from him. Liam was broke but then wasn’t? Her dad & Liam were keeping secrets which was unfair to her. There was one section where Liam & Elisabetta were blabbering nonsense of being married for real, pretending to not knowing each other or start dating for real – I was ready to not finish reading it. This section was not needed in my opinion.

I received an ARC from BookFunnel and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is book 4 in The Annoying Hot Bosses Club and it was really good. I enjoyed Don't Quit the Day Job in this series. In Grumpy Boss of the Year, we follow Liam and Elisabette. Elisabette is a slightly independent woman (I say slightly because her father is funding her lifestyle) who loves her found family fiercely. She take s a job as Liam's assistant, even though she has no experience doing that, or anything else. They are both attracted to one another and that always leads to some type of scheming. I liked that this book didn't put Elisabette in a bad predicament, but didn't like that Liam lied to her either. While I understand why he did, it still made me angry with him. The book wrapped up with a HEA, so I suppose it's all's well that ends well.

Thank you for the copy, this is my honest opinion. Please be aware of any trigger warnings, as your mental health is most important.

This is book four in the “The Annoying Hot Bosses Club” series. Elisabetta has had enough of Liam being rude to her friends when they’re asked to work as his personal assistant so she volunteers for the job. Both make it clear from the start that they are attracted to each other and would love to focus on the personal part of the job title, leading to some very flirtatious and outrageous banter and situations. Elisabetta hasn’t found her focus in life yet, whereas Liam is all about money and business, but he soon finds himself constantly drawn to Elisabetta on a deeper level, and as time goes on, their connection grows stronger and steamier. This story rises above the rest with brilliant dialogue, confident and strong main characters who have been well crafted, and some devastating twists and turns, all of which grab you and keep you enthralled until the end. Recommended to all readers looking for laughs, tension, steam and heartbreaking drama.

Elisabetta Franco is a rich girl. She has never really had to have a real job and has one true friend, her former roommate. When a guy her best friend is working for temporarily, Liam Gallagher, starts making her friend’s life miserable, she steps in a volunteers to be his assistant. Liam is Grumpy and unreasonably a jerk but Elisabetta is not push over and the chemistry between them is scorching hot.

Liam and Elisabetta are a combustable couple. They both push each other’s buttons and give as good as they take. Elisabetta is dealing with some family issues, namely, her father is asking her to do something she doesn’t really want to do. Liam is hiding a secret that affects his business and is dictating a lot of the decisions he is making. There are a lot of interesting twists and turns in this novel add to that a whole lot of steam and you have a great read.

Elsabetta and Liam’s chemistry is undeniable—watching their banter is like witnessing a tennis match, full of quick, clever returns that make every scene sparkle. The flirtation is fun, but what really elevates their relationship are the quieter, more heartfelt moments where the banter fades and real connection shines through. And let’s be honest—nothing is sexier than a man who loves to read, and Liam’s devotion to his favorite trilogy, Lord of the Rings, only makes him more irresistible. That said, the pacing does stumble at times. Certain conversations feel repetitive, circling the same emotional ground without pushing the story forward. It made parts of the book drag, especially when I was eager to see their relationship grow beyond the familiar beats. Still, their dynamic has me rooting for them, even when the story takes its time getting there.

If you love a workplace romance with a grumpy boss, slow burn, and plenty of spice, then Grumpy Boss of the Year is for you!

This is the fourth and final book in The Annoying Hot Bosses Club series, and this time, Elisabetta Franco takes the spotlight. After seeing her friends struggle under Liam’s demanding leadership, she boldly steps in as his personal assistant—despite having zero experience. But Liam has bigger plans for her, thanks to her Italian connections.

I absolutely loved this one! The deeper dive into Elisabetta’s family and the unexpected twists kept me hooked. It’s funny, steamy, and packed with that perfect enemies-to-lovers tension.

Tropes you’ll love:
💼 Workplace romance
🔥 Slow burn & spicy moments
⚔️ Enemies to lovers
🌞 Grumpy x sunshine
🌎 Multicultural romance

Never worked a day in her life, in her mid twenties, Elisabetta is starting her first job! She’s only taking it to help her friends out, but British billionaire Liam has other plans for his new assistant. There’s a lot of emotional trauma hiding behind Elisabetta’s confident persona but she can most certainly stand up to the grump that is Liam. While she’s busy falling in love with her boss, Liam is hiding behind a web of lies that will break her trust, but he’s also breaking his own heart at the same time. As always, Elisabetta and her girl gang are on hand to save the day and they do make it to their HEA.

If you have read the other books in the series you will love this one. It has an amazing little twist. Elisabetta is way more than the spoiled rich friend one may have believed her to be. Her predictive loyalty to her best friend is what leads her to work for the grumpy boss Liam. The charter development is spot on and as usual her writing style is fun and witty.
Elisabetta is defiantly confident in her body and her sexuality wish is refreshing as always to see in women. Liam's soft spot for his sister and niece warms your heart. It defiantly a book worth reading. The mystery is an added bonus to the love story. Things evolve as the book unfolds. It has fun banter and depth with the serious talks between Elisabetta and Liam.

Surprisingly disappointed

I’ve never written an actual review before but I feel like this needed it. I was disappointed in this book to be honest. There were quite a few typos. Sentences that didn’t make any sense. It was very difficult to tell who was speaking at the time because of the way it was written. Conversations that didn’t feel real. It almost felt like there was more than one writer at times or AI generated. This was nothing like the previous stories in the series. Also, if there is to be a book about Gabe and Marie it’s already spoiled by the end of this book and that makes me sad. I wanted so badly to DNF this book but I stuck it out in hopes that it would get better and unfortunately it did not.

J.S. Cooper knocks this whole series out of the park! I don't know which of the stories in this series I like more. I kept thinking that there was no way I'd be able to get into the next one, because nothing could top what I had just read, and sure enough, she showed me how wrong I was. Grumpy Boss of the Year was juicy, and suspenseful (I know that sounds weird but read it and you'll understand why). Talk about a guilty pleasure, if you like to read stories about two people who are complete opposites finding their way towards each other, then definitely read this book and the full series! Although, each book can be read without reading any other stories in the series. Would I recommend this book? Yes! Definitely!

I was a little disappointed that this wasn’t Gabe and Mia’s story but was so excited to get Elisabetta and Liam’s. I wasn’t expecting to get their story, and I completely get why we didn’t see Gabe and Mia with Mia being so young. This was a more emotional book than the others in the series, and I really enjoyed that. Though, I wish we got to hear about the crazy thing Elisabetta did that she hinted at in Skye’s book. I feel like she tamed down really quickly out of nowhere compared to what we were seeing in Skye’s book. However, I really loved their chemistry and the dynamic they had and finally figuring out what her dad does, haha. This was a fun, light series with great banter and found family.
