Another great one!
As always, another 5 star read by Tacarra!
I knew the moment Laurent laid eyes on Bell that all the crap he was giving about relationships would come to an end for the both of them. (Thank goodness for Draya & Paxton 😂). I would have loved for this one to last forever.

DNF
I got to 43% of the book and decided this ain’t for me. For one it’s super boring, for 2 it’s super repetitive. From one chapter to the next we keep getting the same background story for both characters, we get it they were hurt and now they’re scarred for life on relationships .🙄 same storyline different names. Then on top of that it was annoying how invested his brother was in his love life, like okay u tried to hook your brother up but when it didn’t work out the first time like why are u so obsessed? Then on top of that we didn’t get to go on none of the dates or at least get a glimpse as to why they didn’t work out. Maybe that would have helped with the constant repeating of the same info. The characters were boring, and it made no sense to have a man with a women’s center, but don’t respect women. He may not physically abuse women but he dang sure is an abuser himself. Then he wasn’t smart about his “bonus offers” like who lets everyone know he kills ppl? No matter the reason, all these women know he kills, including brandi the girl he treating the worse, and his baby mama. Idk much about the MFC except that she’s single because of hurt from her past.
Idk but I won’t be finishing this book, the chemistry wasn’t there, and without knowing what exactly went wrong with his other dates, how would we know if Bell is for him? All he did was see her and based off that he wanted to be on a date with her. Was the other women ugly, were they wearing all the things he said he hated about women? There was a missed opportunity here to help build the storyline along imo.

a psychologist who owns a women’s shelter but unalives people on the side? Like what is the reason? How did it help the storyline move forward? What was the plan for the actual outcome? Truth be told nothing happened in this story and so many parts of it was unnecessary. I did like the thought of his brother seeing him up and wanting to see him happy and his relationship with his son—but so many things were missing from this storyline that came. The story lacked substance and development. The drama from the baby mom, sleeping with the women who you helped—again what was the reason? Then the relationship between the MC’s happened so fast I got a whiplash. Never got to
See anything developed because so many scenes were not on page and everything felt rushed. I kept looking at the percentage to See if i had more pages left to read and yeah—-i didn’t. Idk what the author was trying to do with this story but it definitely missed the mark.

The Menace And The Matchmaker!!
Laurent is a psychologist who opened a women's shelter for domestic violence survivor's. He took out his father who used to beat on their mama. He was the one they called when they needed someone taken out. He has a sixteen year old son with a baby mama which he can't stand. So Paxton hooked him up with Bell. Bell got him to met with the first date and it lead nowhere. Paxton is concerned about Laurent not being in a loving relationship. Bell wanted to see what the reason he was single. He told her why she was single, but he remedy that real quick. He claimed her as his woman. They had dinners with each other families. They grew close. Their sexual chemistry was off the charts and that's how she ended up pregnant. LJ was better off with his pops than his mama. LJ recorded the proposal so they can show their families and friends

we have laurent a man tht hates women, but runs a women’s shelter bcos of his past. a past where he’s struggled thru abuse from the hands of his father and his baby mama cheating. and he has son & baby mama tht have this man beyond stressed. and bellami, the owner of a matchmaking company, tht has chosen to be single for years bcos of her dumb ex who cheated on her.
oh i absolutely loved this lil book. laurent & bellami are perfect for each other. they both swore off love and wouldn’t give anyone a chance, but unexpectedly fell in love w each other. it was a quick read, w intense emotions from both sides. the story takes us thru there journey of healing w each other, to grow to be better for each other🫶🏽

Cute, quick read!
Laurent is a man of many talents. From a child, he’s had to protect women and he does so gruesomely still to this day. While he’s grown, successful man, he is still lurking in the dark protecting the innocent women and children who fall victim to dangerous, selfish and vicious men.
Thinking that his brother will die alone never experiencing love, Paxton sets Laurent up with a matchmaker, not knowing that all the dates in the world couldn’t hold a candle to the matchmaker herself. Bellani blows Laurent away.
They both have some work to do in order to see what’s right in front of them.
I enjoyed this read for sure.

Bell wanted to meet Laurent himself to find out what type of woman he was interested in so she could match him up but she ended up being the perfect match for him. Laurent didn’t play no games nor waste any time pursuing Bell. It was full steam ahead. They were each other’s balm that they needed to heal the other’s broken, reserved heart. Now we need another book to update us on what they had and the name😁😉

Bellani and Laurent was cute. I can appreciate a rough around the edge professional man. He didn’t play about his heart after being hurt by his baby mama. But thanks to his brother and his bright idea to try and set him up through a matchmaking service he found the one who broke the ice around d his heart. This was a fast paced read. I wanted more character development. I wanted to connect more with the characters but it was still a pretty decent read. I mean. I didn’t DNF it.

This was such a sweet read. After we get hurt, we tend to close off ourselves from the possibility of experiencing that pain again. It was so refreshing to see two individuals that closed themselves off from the possibility of getting hurt again….Take a chance we each other, in the end experiencing a love so beautiful.

too many typos
This was a good book. The drama/action was kind of low but enough to keep attention. My main gripe is the number of typos and errors. Candice’s husband had at least 3 different names throughout the book. It was definitely distracting so I removed a star. But its a cute story and I enjoyed the characters.

Laurent & Bellani!!! The interaction between these two was heartwarming. He was smart, mean, and not looking for a relationship. She was a single woman, not looking for a relationship either. When they meet, he's instantly intrigued by him.

Possible SPOILERS: Bell wanted to meet Laurent herself to find out what that man really liked. Turns out she just might be what he really liked. Laurent didn’t play no games when it came to dating Bell. It was nice to watch them unknowingly heal each other. I love a rough around the edges but a professional man. I enjoyed this read but needed just a little more. 3.5/5
