I can’t break free from the prisons life keeps trapping me in. I was piecing my life back together, escaping one monster only to be caught in the clutches of another. Our parents have forced us into an engagement neither of us wants. Now, we’re forced to put on a perfect act in public, masking the chaos that erupts behind closed doors. Our contempt is matched, and so is our thirst to hurt. Yet, it’s more complicated than it seems. The man I detest most seems haunted by the same darkness, awakening the madness I’ve kept locked away for years.
Will we bring about each other's end, or will we be consumed together by this toxic obsession?
WARNING: My Dark Divine is a dark romance that tackles heavy subjects, which may be triggering for some readers. It is highly recommended to check the 'Important Note' page before diving in.
valeriia babes i love you. you beautiful talented goddess. thank you for giving me the chance to arc read 🖤
these characters go through some rough shit and endured so much. scenes in this may be triggering such as drug use and abuse. PLEASE CHECK YOUR TRIGGERS !!
this is a dark enemies to lovers, toxic relationship, hate to love, marriage of convenience, look at her and die, depression and borderline personality disorder, graphic violence, suicidal thoughts, mental and physical abuse, self harm, drug use, sexual assault (not by main characters), ptsd, dub con, degradation, blood play, and dual pov.
idk how to start this review besides saying i can’t stop crying. honestly. truly. fuck i loved this story so much. i wanted to drag it out longer.
venetia and west are PERFECT for each other. although they had their differences and absolutely despised each other in the beginning, ultimately hurting each other later, their chemistry is fucking explosive 🤌🏼 they both suffer from abuse by their parents and bottles it all up inside. venetia is told to be this prim and proper lady when all she wants to be free and find herself again. she puts on a mask from the moment she wakes up to the second she tucks in for the night. west gets beat up by his pussy of a father and he tends to turn to drugs to take away the pain. he hates everyone and the only way to escape it by snorting a couple lines. their relationship started off on such a bad foot. they never liked each other but will always give into each other 🥺 venetia lets her mask slip when she’s with him and her fire comes out. west’s control completely cracks when he’s with her and loses himself in her. but every time after they share a moment and come to realize they don’t like each other, it’s back to fighting and hurtful words. but they’re stuck with each other because of this arrangement between their families. they are forced to work together in helping their families maintain an image. these two makes my heart clench 🫀 i just want to hug them
their relationship is painful. their connection is brought together by broken pieces of their souls and minds. they both have their struggles and to overcome them. reading about their pasts hurts. you get a deeper understanding of where they came from. they are chaotic and complicated but they are so beautiful. they are who they are 🖤

If you read and enjoyed The Edge of Darkness Trilogy by Leigh Rivers, then you MUST read My Dark Divine by Valeriia Miller.
My Dark Divine follows our two MC’s - Venetia & West. The story is told using a dual POV & flashbacks.
Venetia and West are enemies, both born into the word of business, power and abuse. Venetia & West are forced to marry each other to further the business and Wests father’s political campaign. However, when two people, raised to believe they are monsters and unworthy of love find common ground, they become a dangerous and unstoppable duo. But when Venetias past surfaces, will West turn his back on her or fight those demons with her?
This story is a dark romance & does contain dark elements and themes. It is a bully romance, contains abuse & substance abuse.
I loved every facet of this book. The flashbacks were written so well and really gave you insight to the pain and fear both characters experienced growing up with their abusers. Wests story broke my heart in many ways, and I just wanted to hug him.
And listen, I know a bully romance isn’t for everyone… but it sure as hell is for me. They hate each other so good in this book, but it just leads to incredible tension and spice.
So many parts of this book will live rent free in my head.
the reason i picked this book up was because i saw multiple people compare it to the edge of darkness trilogy by leigh rivers. if you know me you know that’s my roman empire series. and while, there were a few similarities like both characters having a traumatic past and the mmc being unhinged and unaliving anyone who even looks at the fmc… that was all i personally found to be similar. to me, there is no comparison to TEOD. nothing will ever come close.
now, with all that being said, did i love this book? hell yeah. i ate it up. both west and venetia are broken and red flags. they’re BOTH toxic. their relationship was hot n cold. one minute they’re fucking and the next they’re fighting.. literally.
the flashbacks made me sad. i just wanted to hug both of them. neither of them deserved that. fuck both of their families except for West’s grandma. she was funny and cool as hell.
west is a psycho drug addict who unalives people on the daily but he’s also sweet and curls venetia’s hair. venetia is a broken woman who built up walls around her heart keeping everyone out to try to protect herself.. she does stab west, yes.... but she also holds him when he’s hallucinating and comforts him. they’re like sour patch kids lmao. sour.. then sweet.
i love their story and loved the love they both had for each other. they both fought it but ending up realizing that they needed each other. they both calmed each other and became each others safe space. so all the fighting and toxicity was worth it. i would recommend this one!
tropes: hate to love, mental health rep, enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience, touch him/her and die, toxic relationship, praise & degradation.
Personally, for me, this book was just alright. I was fortunate enough to get this as an arc read. I felt that the banter between these characters felt a little juvenile however, they were in their late twenties. West was hot, don’t get me wrong. Venetia is a bad ass and I appreciated her.
While this was a fun and enjoyable read, it just wasn’t the most shocking book ever. Also, the trigger warnings at the beginning were spot on!

Took me a while to read this one. It was good but minimal plot. the spice was spicy and that was great. I just wish we got more family lore and understood more of the bad things going on. Loved their love story, but it really could’ve benefited from some more deep plot development.
My first ARC review! Thank you Valeriia for the opportunity to review your new book 🖤
Rating: 4.5/5 ⭐️
I really enjoyed getting to know Venetia and West in My Dark Divine, and was impressed by Valeriia’s poetic writing throughout the story. I was able to imagine both characters’ emotions and traumas as if they were my own at times.
As victims of emotional/physical abuse and constant manipulation throughout their lives, the characters are profoundly nuanced and flawed. Their stories had me reflecting on my own life and how I might view and move through the world if nurtured in a similar fashion. I deeply emphasize with Venetia and West. Their love story resonated with me after putting all of pieces together from their pasts up until present. Their affection for one another felt truly genuine. They are truly made for each other, toxic love and all 🥀
This book features: - Dark enemies to lovers - Dual POV - Marriage of convenience - Obsession - Mental health representation - Toxic behaviors - Plenty of spice 🌶️ - Praise kink - Possessive MMC
Favorite quotes: “Now, let me remind you what it means to be mine.” ❤️🔥

4.5⭐️ ARC Review: Thank you Valeriia for giving me this arc, i loved your writing when i reviewed the Hoax arc and My Dark Divine didn’t disappoint either. Please check your triggers!!!
Wes and Venetia were a perfect match for each other. In the beginning Venetia had her own misconceptions about Wes just like everyone else, but Wes was far from the person everyone made him out to be. Even though the events in the story mainly take place in the present we do have multiple characters where we go back to past and this gives us insight into why our main characters are the way they are and what happened to them over the years. my heart hurt for Wes and Venetia they’re parents we’re supposed to love and protect them but instead they made them question their worth, feel unworthy of love, put them in horrible situations. the flashback where Wes had to either kill amanda the girl he was dating or her brother made me so sad for him, outside of his grandmother and music she made him happy and his dad took that last bit of happiness from him that night.. Venetia though that zayden was a good guy but he got her hooked on drugs, raped her with his friends, abused her every chance he got, cheated on her and i was so happy when my suspicion was right that she was the one who actually killed him.. I absolutely loved how they would kill to protect each other, how they healed each other and made each other see/feel that they are worthy of love.

My dark divine is a dark romance that deals with heavy themes and tropes such as Touch him x her and ☠️ - hate to love - mental health awareness - toxic relationship -marriage of convenience
This is important to know before diving in, but I have no triggers so this was and amazing read for me, as someone who deals with mental health issues this was very beautiful, and made me feel acceptable, I resonated with it so much!
This book is about Venetia and West, a couple of acquaintances/ colleagues that hate each other, through their parents and work, both in violent situations, and struggles, they are forced into a marriage of convenience, for business sakes, they're both broken but come together in their own way, to fix each other. The spice was amazing!!! Their chemistry, from their hatred to love, was amazing!
The book draws you in from the beginning, and keeps you hooked, i just loved Venetia i feel so much like her, in the way our mental health treats us, it's nice to resonate with a character as much as I did.
'You're mine, your flaws, your anger, your tears, and every time you feel at your lowest - it's all mine. I wouldn't exchange this life, this love, this you, for anything else.' There are many beautiful quotes in this book that have me falling in love.
Overall, this is an amazing read, and I would 100% recommend reading it if you are into dark romance.

Venetia and West were only ever destined to be enemies—painted in blood, laced with threats, and carrying the weight of bodies left in their wake. They are broken, deadly, sculpted by violence, and molded by cruelty to kill without hesitation. But oh, how spectacular it is when monsters collide
As much as they despise each other, their families throw them a curve ball and their shared darkness pulls them together, entangling them in a web of pain, desire and a side of madness. What was once enmity morphs into something else, something ugly, beautiful and altogether dangerous. Love? Obsession? Or just another form of doom?
This book is a dark declaration of chaos, romance that slices as deeply as it soothes, and characters so damaged they should come with a warning label. If you like your romance with a side of bloodspatter and your characters a little (okay, a lot) unhinged this one’s for you.
𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬: 🔥 Enemies to Lovers 🔥 Dark, Twisted Romance 🩸 Morally Grey Characters 💀 Violence as Foreplay 🕰 Dual Timelines / Past Trauma 👿 Touch Them & You Die 💋 Spicy & Toxic 🏹 Forced Proximity
4.5 ⭐️ An amazingly spicy enemies to lovers. Both working in the family business with chapters exposing the FMC & MMC backgrounds and traumas these two are forced into a close relationship by their fathers. Where the enemies to lovers really gets spicy and fiery both mentally and physically! The fight for powerful standings, violence, and abuse along the way. Both have such perfect personalities for a dark romance book which helps make things not only funny but also so sweet at times. The things they end up doing for each other (curling irons are tough!🥹) are so sweet but yet they are so dark lol. The witty remarks, and tough exteriors are everything!!! We love characters that are built up and strong only to be broken down by the right person.
This was my first book of Valeriia Miller and it was my first ARC read. All I can say is that it was so well written, made me laugh, scream and look shocked at times. Thank you again for letting me be on the team!
This book touches on so many traumas, violence, and dark subjects. Make sure to read all the trigger warnings ahead of time as it is not for the weak nor for those who may have experienced, struggled or are recovering for triggers. If you are game for it after reading up on what to expect then sit tight, buckle in, and enjoy West and Venetias wild ride!
Anything by Valeriia Miller is an automatic read for me from now on. This book was a wild ride. It was twisted, insane, toxic, psychotic, dark, full of hurt and damage emotionally and physically. There are sooo many parts to this book and all of them were necessary. It took me 14 hours to read this and I don’t know how I’m going to recover from the emotional damage this book caused. I cried for 15 year old Venetia. I cried for 18 year old Venetia. I just cried for her the entire book. She was robbed of her chance of happiness way too young. She went through fire, came out burned but still managed to survive. And West. That man is the definition of touch her and die. He has his own demons but he would do anything for his girl. These two are so fucked up. Like really fucked up but I’m obsessed. Was this book 50% smut? Absolutely. And I’m not even mad about it. This book was everything. 💜
ARC Review ✨ First I would like to say a big thank you to Valeriia for letting me be apart of this ARC Team! Rate: 4/5⭐️ Spice: 2.5/5🌶️
What to expect when reading My Dark Devine; -Hate x Lovers -Mental Health Rep -Obsessed -Marriage of Connivence -Toxic
This is the first time I have read from Valeriia and wow, speechless. From start to finish this had me on the edge of my seat. The intensity of not just the plot but the characters was unexpected. I will say check trigger warnings because this does cover some heavy topics.West and Venetia not going to lie gave me whiplash. but in a good way. When they hated each other they hated, when they loved, they loved hard. It was two beautifully broken people healing each other while causing destruction. The only thing is I wish it was a little more fast paced with the events, but at the same time I get why it was necessary
Side notes: -the car 🙃 -tutorial video 🥹 -his grandma🤭
Fav Quote: ”it’s a f**king love language, or whatever they call it, Netia” & “I’m not your God, baby. We’re equal.”
Make sure you get the book when it releases Feb. 14th🖤 #bookstagram #romance #review
This was such an incredible book to read, the emotions it makes you feel are so intense and gripping. The dual POV was perfect, the flashbacks were intense and helped build the characters backstory brilliantly, Venetia and West are such incredibly complex characters, both toxic and intense with past traumas that inevitably bring them to each other. Their stories are heart-breaking to take in, both of their flashbacks bought me to tears multiple times.
The spice was AMAZING, the way the hatred played into them falling in love hard, the touch her and die vibe was heavenly! My favourite quote was “I’m not your God, baby. We’re equal.” 10000%.
Safe to say this book will have you gripped every page, but definitely check triggers as there are some heavy-hitting subjects!
I think this may be one of my favorite dark romances! West and Venetia are perfect for each other. Their pasts were absolutely heartbreaking and them coming together in the present was so chaotic and messy.
Enemies to lovers Marriage of convenience Morally grey characters Spicy & toxic Touch them and die
This book draws you in and keeps you hooked. I highly recommend if you’re in to dark romance. Please heed the trigger warnings. 🖤
First off, West "I'm your real Daddy" Reyes makes me realize I am colorblind because those red flags look green to me baby 😏 Let me tell you the spice in this book was turning up the heat and I am here for it. Venetia is such a power female- cunning, calculating and unapologetically that girl. Both Venetia and West both struggle with the dynamics of the life they're forced to live and the demons they carry but this story shows how an unlikely love can turn down the shadows that haunt them. This is dark but I did catch myself laughing sometimes at just how straight to the point West is and I loved it. Also the fact that my man West is utterly obsessed with Netia... oooooh baby. A must read for dark romance lovers who like smut, murder and some straight up bad ass characters. 🥵😈🖤
Wow, this book was absolutely amazing!! It was so well written, and the story was so interesting that I couldn’t put it down. West and Venetia’s relationship was definitely dark, toxic, and utterly messed up. But they were honestly perfect for each other, and they helped to heal something in each other. I loved the dual POV, and the flashbacks were written perfectly within the story. And of course the spice was incredible! This is definitely a DARK romance, with very dark themes, so be sure to read the trigger warnings before starting the book. But if this type of book is your thing, I highly recommend this one.
“What began as a reluctant, strained connection has transformed into a maddening, sick obsession. He sees me completely and is willing to burn the world down for me just as I've always dreamed.”
Wow! This book has left me speechless and I need a few days to emotionally recover. My heart shattered for West and Venetia as their stories unfolded. I became utterly captivated by West—his strength, his vulnerability, and the way he fiercely protects what’s his, all while yearning for love and recognition. When he curled her hair and bought her things from the shop🥺 I loved reading how west and Venetia evolved throughout the book both together and as individual people.
It’s important to note that the trigger warnings in this book should be taken seriously. It’s a raw, intense read that delves into some heavy and dark themes, and Valeriia handles them with such skill and precision.
This is such an amazing book, that is beautifully written.
I’ve never read a book like this. Dark. Depraved. Utterly addictive. West and Venetia are addicts. Addicted to substances that do more harm than good but addicted to each other just as well. They are messed up. Hateful, self sabotaging individuals. They play a constant game of tug of war and love and I so thoroughly enjoyed it. This book does contain themes of rape, torture and dark themes. Miss Miller, thank you for sharing this with the world. It’s a great read💋

Oh so dark and oh so spicy. I literally could not put this book down, I want more West and Netia and all of their unhinged, deranged antics. This book was so beautifully written, with the flashbacks happening at the right moments to make the whole story fall into place allowing you to truly see what shaped these main characters into the villains they are. I felt their emotions, both past and present and my heart broke wide open for them. West and Ventia are two hateful powerhouses thrown together by their fathers who develop explosive chemistry and blooming vulnerability and I was just as addicted as they are.
this book was the definition of loving every aspect of someone ESPECIALLY the most darkest & damaged parts. i really felt some parts of the characters stories, its very relatable when you’ve been thru similar traumas & the way it alters your brain into thinking about yourself. the writing is beautiful & original. the fact that both the FMC & MMC are morally grey & unhinged ?? chefs kiss, perfect. this book is unlike any book ive read before, it definitely stands out.
OH MY WEST REYES 😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰 He deserves to be loved sooo bad So did Venetia! Like i’m glad they could see the beauty in each other. FOR THE LIFE OF ME I HATED THEIR FATHERS… Like ughhhh the should have got worse im just saying. But I LOVED THIS BOOK!
I whole heartedly ate this book up, I loved the style, the plot, the characters and just about everything in this book it had me wanting more and yes it could be trigger warning to some but I thought the author wrote it with caution and detailed it perfectly 100% recommendation

My Dark Divine has me captivated from page one! I will say with this book check your trigger warnings! This book was raw and emotionally charged. That feelings this book evoked from me ranged from laughing, crying, think my heart physically broke for them, back to laughing! I never felt bored or felt like the book was repetitive. West and Venetia are both strong damaged individuals who happen to match each others broken pieces! One of the best Enemies to Lovers that’s also an actual dark romance!
This book had me in a chokehold. The characters were beautifully well written, Their past made it you feel for them and root for them. It was dark and steamy, and i adored every minute of this book. The chemistry between the two characters was powerful and toxic in the best way. they became addicted to each other even when they hated each other. the progression between the twos' relationship was steady and not so sudden that it didn't make sense. all in all, i would definitely read more of Valeriia's books. im glad i had the opportunity to read this as an Arc book. ♡
Dark romances can be difficult to navigate because they can be terribly written, or just so left field ridiculous that the plot/dialogue pulls you from the story, however THIS was really good.
I loved the flashbacks, I loved both the FMC and MMC, and overall I just loved the plot. These topics were difficult to read, and my heart broke several times for Venetia.
Also I picture West as a young Cillian Murphy, soo. Yeah. Definitely would recommend for all my girlies that love dark romance!
