Reward: A Book reviewers rambling thoughts, what else did you expect?
Do we have a character more realistic than Carl? Thrown into a dungeon half dressed and fighting for his life his attitude is just what you'd expect!
And Donut, oh my god, she's hilarious and exactly how you would imagine a cat to be. Personally I'm more of a dog person, don't tell her I said that but I do this she is most extraordinary character, we need even more Donut time.
I 100% recommend this to both novice gamers and adept games alike as you don't need gaming knowledge to fully understand the start of the story and then the rest gets explained in the book.
Despite serving up a healthy helping of brotein, this still went down relatively easily. I could have done without the weirdly cruel depictions of marginalized groups - decidedly not an ~epic win.
Is this a silly and strange book in an odd hard to explain new genre. Sure but who cares. I get why it’s speaking to people my age and it’s fun! Looking forward to the next one.
