Content warning:

‘Wild Devotion’ was a quick and easy to read novella. It’s the 13th book in the series but the only one that I have read and this is 100% a series which you can dive in and out of without any confusion.

Luke and Isla’s book was an instalove romance which I found enjoyable for what it was. Their dynamic was interesting and I liked the immediate closeness between them and how for one another they became a safe space and someone with whom they could share their true selves. The book and their romance touched on some difficult themes which I didn’t mind, in fact I was interested in where it would go, but as this is a novella I don’t think the themes were given nearly enough development to be of worth, instead it felt a little like they were there for effect more than anything else.

Secondary characters were plenty with the obvious closeness of the Wild Rider’s MC. The dynamics between the members, their wives, and Isla as a newcomer were all enjoyable. The sense of brotherhood and family was well written and if I read more from this series it is something I could see being my favourite thing about it. This was a likeable novella for what it was but felt too underdeveloped for me so I’ll likely not return to this series.

Favourite Quote:
“As long as you’re sure Isla, because if we’re doing this, then I’m all in. I may have half a body, but I’ve got a full heart. And I will love you and Cody like he’s my own.”

Wild Devotion (Wild Heart Mountain: Wild Rider’s MC, Book 13) by Sadie King

A raw, emotional, and deeply touching romance, Wild Devotion delivers a gripping story of resilience, protection, and love that defies all odds. Luke, a wounded warrior struggling to find purpose after losing two limbs, has accepted his new reality—until Isla and her newborn crash into his world, desperate for safety.

Isla is exhausted, on the run, and not looking for a hero. But Luke refuses to let her fight alone. He may believe he’s only half a man, but his strength, devotion, and protective nature prove otherwise. Their slow-burn connection is filled with heartache, healing, and an undeniable chemistry that neither can ignore.

With danger looming and emotions running high, Wild Devotion is a beautifully written MC romance about second chances, self-worth, and finding love when you least expect it.

I received this as an arc from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.

This was a great single mom romance. It was a short story with a good pace. I loved the storyline with the wounded hero and his inability to see beyond his disability. It was just a really great story and I really liked Luke and Isla.

I do like the non traditional characters of this book. It’s a love story between a single mom still breastfeeding her infant and a man who lost the use of his legs in an accident.

I don’t like the trend in contemporary romance and erotica of showing both the male and female lead points of view. It takes away all the romantic tension and keeps us from digging deeper into the interiority of a single character. Either the story of a new mother feeling hopeless about her dating prospects or a man recently losing his legs wondering if he would ever love again would require enough space on their own to do them justice.

It’s a sweet story, but there’s no real conflict or tension in the story.

Received a free copy in a giveaway. This book was fine, short and sweet. I found it a bit too unrealistic that a mom to a newborn would do any of the things in the book. The male lead was well written but I couldn’t get over the unbelievable female character. Whoever wrote this must not have even given birth.

OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.

Luke/Chariot and Isla met when she's running from an abusive relationship. Since the woman's shelter is fully Wild Heart Mountain MC take Isla in since she's friends with Maggie Wild Curves. Isla has a six week old infant son Cody that she's trying to protect. Luke lost his legs in Afghanistan while he was serving. Isla isn't getting much sleep since Cody's routine isn't the same. When Luke notices the bags under Isla's eyes and that she isn't eating he calls a meeting. Luke gets the help of the MC's old ladies to help out with Cody. While Luke watches durning the night when everyone else is asleep he stays outside of Isla's room. When some of the other woman come to help out Isla with Cody she finally gets a good nights rest. A few nights pass and finally Cody is settling into a new routine and he starts sleeping through the night. Luke makes sure that Isla is feed and that she gets a shower and time for herself. Luke gets Isla a job working part time for the restaurant that is part of the MC, this way she can work when she wants to. Luke takes Isla and has the other ladies watch Cody, he takes her out. Luke gives Isla a ride on his motorcycle that is adapted for him, it's how he got his MC name Chariot. Luke and Isla have a picnic out by the boulders, she talks to him about his injury. Luke leans in and kisses Isla, then he pleasures her, when she tries to pleasure him he pulls away. While Isla is working sitting at the restaurant she's feeding Cody, her ex-fiancée comes walking in. Isla asks him how he found her. Isla finds out her ex-fiancée found her through her mother. Isla's ex-fiancée tells her she's not safe with this motorcycle club, then Luke comes. When Isla's ex-fiancée tries to challenge Luke, he tells Isla to go out back. Some of the other MC brother come to help Luke but he tells them he's got this. Luke takes Isla's ex-fiancée down, some of his brother have to pull him off. When Isla's ex-fiancée leaves he tells her she's not worth it, and he wants nothing to do with his son. Luke doesn't want Isla to see when they help him back into his chair, when she comes to tell him she wants to patch him up. Luke tells her to go take care of Cody, then he waits for Isla to leave before he lets his MC brothers help him back into his chair. Later that night, Isla goes to knock on Luke door. Isla thanks Luke for protecting her and her son. Isla wants to know if she did something wrong, she tells him she likes him and she thought he felt the same. Luke tells her it's not her, she deserves someone who's not half a man and in a wheelchair. Isla tells Luke that she sees beyond the wheelchair, she sees the man that's inside of him. Isla tells Luke he doesn't know what she needs, she needs him. Luke asks her if she's sure because life isn't always going to be easy, some of his days are still dark. Isla tells him she wants to be with him, if Luke wants her. Luke tells her as long as she is sure he's all in, he loves her and Cody. Isla tells him he's more than enough, Luke tells her he loves her. Luke asks her if Cody is down for the night and Isla checks her baby monitor. Luke asks Isla to stay with him, he wants to show her what she means to him. When Luke wants to get into bed he asks Isla to turn around, but she asks him why. Luke tells her he doesn't want her to see this, Isla tells him that she's not going to be scared off by seeing him use a transfer bed than he's stupider than she thought. Luke asks Isla how she knows what a transfer board is. Isla tells Luke he's not the only one that knows how to use google. Then Isla helps with the transfer board and helps Luke get into bed. When he's all set, Isla climbs in beside Luke. Luke strips Isla clothes off then he takes his own off. After Luke pleasure Isla she pleasures him then they make love. Luke tells her he loves her and Isla tells him she loves him. Isla reminded Luke of what it means to be a man, she made him whole, and he'll spend the rest of his life being the man she needs him to be. One year later, Luke stands with his prosthetics watching as Isla walks down the aisle. Luke's been using them more now that Cody is walking. Luke and Isla get married with all his MC brothers in attendance. Luke adapted the designs for his cabin, and the guys helped him build it. They decided to wait to have any kids, but Luke's not sure chasing a toddler and having another baby. Luke never thought he'd be blessed with his own family, but here he is the luckiest man alive.

Luke/Chariot,27, is with Arlo working on the weights. He watches as Arlo keeps checking his watch. His wife snuck out early to meet a woman who's come to town. Luke remembers how he was at 18 wanting to follow family tradition and joined the service. Until he lost his legs in Afghanistan. Now he thinks he can never have what the other brothers have....a family.
Isla has told Arlo's wife that she left her fiance and ran with her baby. There's no one to turn to because he's the son of her parents best friends. Her brother, who knows Arlo's wife asked for their help because they have a woman's refuge in the mountains.
Isla is running from her abusive fiance. When it tries to make it a pity party for him she texts him she won't be going back because of his issues. She finally manages to get her mother to understand that what he shows to other people isn't how he is in private and she had to leave with her baby before he hurt both of them. The MC helps her find a job and tells her she can stay till she figures out what to do. Now Luke is going to take his Pres's advice and try to date her. He will put himself out there for a chance with her.
Then Ian finds her. And a showdown between Luke and Ian rears it;s head. Will Luke be able to take him on and win what he most wants?
A beautiful story of a love that sees past the physical and into the spirit of a person. It's also a glimpse into veterans with disabilities. To the reader, especially me who served in the military, those aren't disabilities but badges of honor given for family and country. To all our veterans ; THANK YOU and WELCOME HOME!!! You are loved!!.

Since Luke was introduced earlier in the series, I’ve had a thing for him. I was so happy when he joined the Wild Heart Mountain/ Wild Riders MC. That he made it out of being a prospect was a given. Now that he is a full member and is known as Chariot, which is way cool and his bike is too. It does remind me of chariots in ancient history. Maggie and Arlo play a role in this book as Maggie is friends with Isla’s brother as they went to culinary school together and Isla is in need so her brother sent her to Maggie. Isla and her baby need help and so the guys and gals gathered up baby stuff and will protect her and the baby from her ex fiancé. The fact that they did this right before Christmas made it all scarier and harsher. My heart went out to them. When Luke meets Isla and the baby, he instantly wants to protect them and to act as the lead on that. I laughed, cried and giggled a lot during this book. Luke is dealing with so much and yet, his heart is so big that he put Isla and her baby first and protecting them. He surprised me a lot during this book. I fell in love with him even more. Baby Cody is adorable and I just wanted to make things for him to play with. lol. Luke truly impressed me with how he came up with ways to help Isla and little Cody. I think I fell more and more in love with those three throughout the book. This series is a must read and this is my fave of the series. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

I’ve read most of this series but this one…. Seriously….so much swooning!!!

You’ve got a military hero, Luke, that feels broken because of double partial leg amputations. He’s strong though, inside and out…and when he sees Isla and her newborn son Cody for the first time…he knows…they are it for him😍🤗🥰…but is he enough for them? His inner demons try to knock him down….

Isla has run from her verbally and emotionally abusive fiancé, 4 weeks after giving birth to their son, after he threw a glass at/near her and she has to pick broken glass out of her baby’s hair…that’s the last straw for her. She calls off the wedding and flees….but her brother is out of the country and so he hooks her up with a friend of his connected to the MC, knowing they run a shelter for women. But the shelter is full so she is taken in at the clubhouse itself…

What happens next is really just magical…but can Isla trust a new man? Will Ian (the ex) find them? Is Luke enough for Isla(I mean we all know he’s enough but can he accept that? Can she?)

This is a really beautiful story…with some steamy times…And some swoony times…so worth the read!😍.

Luke + Isla
Wild Devotion by Sadie King is a quick and emotional MC romance story that definitely hit me in the feels...

Luke, Luke, Luke.... god this wounded ex-military man... wreaked havoc on my emotions...
While....
Luke has finally begin to accept that he will be wheelchair bound for the rest of his life. When, on the run, single mother Isla, is brought to the club for safety and protection, Luke's insecurities begin to take over...

"I'm only half a man. How can I give her what she needs?"

Gosh... These words hurt when I read them....

But... Let me tell you... Luke may have had his insecurities and doubts, but this man provided Isla with everthing she needed and deserved...
He was OTT protective, strong, supportive, caring, helpful and loving.
Yep, cue the swoon for this man.
Isla was such a sweet and strong woman. Not only was she is a fiercely protective mumma bear, but my heart warmed with how she never looked at Luke differently, she simply saw the caring and protective man he is.
These two shared an undeniable attraction and I adored the slow-burn connection they shared. Once that slow-burn ignites.. ddaaammnnn.
The club... how can you not love a supportive brotherhood and a found family for Isla. Soooo good!!

I loved this read and will definitely be following for more!!!

I’m so glad we got Luke/Chariot’s book! Ever since he was introduced earlier in the series, I’ve been looking forward to his story. I love how sensitive this was to his disability and his mental and emotional struggle because of it. Add in the sweetheart that was Isla and her vulnerability about being broken as well, and these two were perfect for each other. There was so many emotions, subtle nuances and raw moments in this one, I loved how it all came together and they both became stronger people. A disabled hero whose strong in both character and physically isn’t seen often in books, but Luke knocked both of those out of the park! The way he defended Isla and her son?! Loved it! I do wish we got to see a full closure on the situation with Isla’s ex. But the scene were Luke defended them made me ridiculously happy. No cheating or OW drama, slight OM drama with her ex-fiancé (not on her part), single mom of a newborn, abuse mentioned and emotional abuse on page (not between MC’s), dual POV, HEA and an epilogue in the future. Love the men and women of the Wild Riders and can’t wait for the next man to fall!

This is the 13th book in the wild riders MC series. He lost his legs in the war, came back a broken man the MC president found him drowning his sorrows and gave him something else to live for a brotherhood, a community and a purpose. He still sees himself as half a man not someone a woman would be attracted to. The first time he lays eyes on her everything is different. She stirs feelings than him. He thought were lost. She is there seeking the protection of the MC as she flees an abusive ex. She is also falling for this kind man who has gone out of his way to make her feel safe and protected. There is some light drama to be navigated with the ex, the main focus of the story is the romance. There are two people who are drawn together attracted to one another but each living with demons from their past. The author has given you two solid characters who deserve a happily ever after. Don’t miss out on the extended epilogue to see how things turned out for them.

4.5 meltingly sweet stars!

This is book thirteen in the author’s Wild Heart Mountain: Wild Rider's MC series and features Chariot, aka Luke.

This was such a beautiful book! In a wheelchair for the last couple of years from his time spent in the military, Luke had given up on having a family. That is until Isla, a woman fleeing from an abusive fiancé with a 4 week old infant sought shelter. From first glance, Luke fell hard but felt like she could never be happy with him as he was but still, he swore to protect her.

A man has never cared for a woman like Luke cared for Isla. The things he did to ensure she was getting enough to eat, enough sleep, a little time for herself…it was so sweet and romantic, even when he didn’t have hope for any kind of relationship to come of it.

This wasn’t your typical MC romance but it was amazing nonetheless and one that shouldn’t be missed.

I received a copy of this book for free from Instalove Influencers but this is my honest opinion.

"He's sex on wheels, and he doesn't even know it."

Wild Devotion is the thirteenth book in the Wild Heart Mountain: Wild Rider's MC series. I adored this story about two broken people who end up having a connection that zings, but both think they are not worthy of the other. Isla has shown up late one night with her newborn son, Cody, at the clubhouse after Maggie picked her up. She is fleeing an abusive fiance, which may not have turned physical yet but is on that path. Luke, aka Wheels, is a vet who lost both his legs while oversees. He was in a dark place after coming back but his fathers friend, Raiden, picked him up and gave him a home and family with the MC. When Luke sees Isla for the first time all he knows is he is going to make sure she is safe and protected, and he will take care of her in any way he is able to. What happens next is a wonderful story that pulls at your heartstrings and makes you swoon at the same time.

I have been waiting for Luke’s story since we first saw him in book 1. I love a wide range of tropes and genres, but my absolute favorite one isa wounded/scarred/disabled Hero. This is my favorite book of the series. Sadie definitely didn’t disappoint and the wait was definitely worth it! My only complaint is I didn’t want it to end. I loved Luke and Isla so much. I hated that he saw himself as “half a man” since losing his legs in combat, but loved his strength and how he didn’t want anyone’s pity. He viewed his service to the country as his duty and didn’t want pity because he got injured. He was loyal and his protectiveness of Isla and Cody had me swooning and my heart melting. I loved seeing his strength, but also his vulnerability too.
This book may have been a short, quick read, but it was really great and I loved every second.

We have already arrived at the 13th book in the Wild Riders MC series. We follow Luke and Isla. Isla is a single mother and is on the run with her newborn baby from her extremely violent ex-fiancé and is urgently looking for help and protection. From the first moment that Luka sees her and her son Cody. When they meet together it is as if a switch goes on for both of them and the chemistry and attraction between them is there immediately and they are drawn more to each other. It was nice to read how they make the journey together and in the meantime have to deal with her ex and deal with their own insecurities and that they help each other with this and in this way they can get a heal together. A great story with drama, danger, action and enough romance and steam.

Luke is a wounded ex-military who lost both of his legs in action. He is depressed and drinking until he joins the Wild Riders Motorcycle Club a couple years ago. When Isla with an infant, Cody, shows up at the clubhouse, Luke feels something since losing his legs years before. He feels that he is only half of a man! Isla was sent the club by her brother who knew someone at the club; she had fled from her fiance and Cody's father, Ian, who had become violent. Luke arranges help for Cody so Isla can get some rest. Luke found a job for Isla at the clubhouse for marketing the club's brewery. What will Luke do when Ian shows up? Does his thoughts that he is not man enough changed? Would he worthy of Isla and Cody?.

Luke/Chariot has come a long way from the dark her place he was returning from Afghanistan after the loss of both of his legs. Even though he has prosthetic legs he prefers the wheel chair but feels like he will never have what his brothers do. When he first lays eyes on Isla, she awakens something in him, she is everything he could want.

Isla knew it was no longer safe for her and Cody, he is only 4 weeks old. Her brother cannot help her being out of the country but recommended her Maggie. Since there no room at the shelter, she brought to the club house, she locks eyes with the man in the wheelchair.

I loved this story, Luke was patient but stepped up got a support system set up for Isla. He still has somethings to overcome to trust the budding feelings between them.

Luke and Isla

If you are looking for a short read, I recommend this one! Its less than 100 pages.
Luke got hurt in the war. He ended up as a double amputee and uses a wheelchair. He was going down a bad path but the MC has saved him and he thinks he's perfectly content working in the bike shop and helping others out until he sees a scared Isla and her baby boy, Cody. He feels a connection but is worried that Isla won't see him as a "whole" man...
Isla is on the run from a bad situation involving her ex fiance. She knew she had to get Cody away.
When Isla's ex shows up, can Luke show he is more of a man than the ex could ever be? Can he protect the people who he sees as his family now? Will Isla be able to show Luke that she sees him, not just his wheelchair?

This was such a wonderful read and it really hit me with all the feels. I'm a sucker for a military romance, so this whole series has been fab, but with Luke being a partial double amputee, I couldn't wait to see how his story would unfold. I love how the author wrote his character, making him strong, caring and duty driven. Certainly not prideful. Isa is a single mom fleeing an abusive relationship and ends up with Luke's help. These two are immediately smitten with each other but both have baggage to work through before they can let the love between them bloom. If you want a well written, well paced romance with all the feels and hot chemistry, and a little drama ;P, you definitely want to dive into this one. I know it's getting a prominent place on my re-read shelf :D

I've been waiting for Luke's story - Chariot - and it did not disappoint! After resentful joining the Wild Riders MC, Luke struggled to find his place. He's still adjusting some days to the loss of his legs, but being with his accepting 'family' helps, mostly. When Isla arrives needing shelter from her ex, Luke steps up to provide everything she needs. I loved watching how much effort he put into ensuring she was taken care off, all the little things. In return, she saw him... all of him. She saw beyond the broken man he saw himself to be, and was determined to show him just how wrong he was. When her past catches up to them though, will Isla's positive affirmations be enough to overshadow the onslaught that awaits?

Luke left his military service without legs due to an incident. He has adjusted to life without them but still considers himself half a man. A man no one wants. Isla showed up with her son afraid of her ex-fiancé and Luke was attracted to her and set up help for her and the little one. But he doesn’t want to risk rejection and tell her what he feels for her. He does so much for her over the weeks of healing and they grow close. But when the ex-fiancé shows up, will he lose everything he wanted?

I really liked the male character dealing with life without legs—there’s a lot to adjust to in the world! I don’t think I’ve ever read a hero with Luke’s injury and I appreciated that his restrictions were addressed and discussed so sensitively.

Wild Devotion is heartful, stunning, and intense. Double amputee Luke is brilliant and brave when it comes to being of service for others, and I love how he immediately steps up for Isla when she appears on scene. Despite his own hangups about his physical condition, he boldly proclaims himself her protector and rallies his MC family to support her as well. Isla and her baby have escaped a terrible situation, and it’s so beautiful to watch her rediscover herself and find safety and home. She and Luke are a gorgeous match; author Sadie King has done a lovely job of crafting a realistic and emotionally charged love story that packs a punch from start to finish.

Isla has left her fiance, and with no where to go her brother calls his friend, Maggie, who has a women's shelter. The shelter is full, so Maggie brings her to the clubhouse. The second she walks in holding her baby, Luke is immdiately drawn to her.

Luke lost both legs in Afghanistan and almost lost himself when he returned. The club took him in and saved him. When he sees Isla, he is drawn to her like no woman before.

Luke can't see a future as he feels no woman would want a relationship with a man in a wheelchair without his legs. Can Isla show him there is so much more to a man than that.

What happens when Isla's ex finds her? Can Luke keep her safe?.

A quick read that wins you over and touches your heart the second you start it! Luke is a phenomenal character, smart, kind, and far, far more than what he gives himself credit for and every little thing he does for Isla is what dreams are made of for a new mom. And if the way Isla gives up everything for her baby isn’t enough to have you loving her, the way she forces Luke to see that she sees all of him and wouldn’t change a thing, most definitely will. It’s finding love in an instant and despite all the baggage you bring, realizing that a sound and whole body doesn’t make you a man, and opening your heart and mind to the idea that you are enough and worthy of every ounce of love you’re given, and it’s beautiful.

Luke is a wounded warrior and patched member of the Wild Rider's MC.
Isla is a single mother of a newborn on the run who finds herself under the protection of the MC.

Trigger warning: talk of and describe abuse.

I absolutely loved this book!

"Wild Devotion" is the 13th installment in the Wild Rider's MC series, and it does not disappoint. The story centers on Isla, a determined single mother with a newborn, who is seeking protection from her abusive ex-fiancé. From the moment Luke sees Isla, he prioritizes her and her son Cody's safety, and their connection is immediate and powerful. However, both characters must confront their own insecurities before they can fully embrace their relationship.

The writing is superb, and the pacing is so engaging that you won't want to put it down. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

I received a free copy of this book and am happy to share my thoughts in this review.

I won an e-copy giveaway from Goodreads which led me to read the entire series before reading this one.

Wild Devotion is the 13th book in the Wild Heart Mountain series and by far my favorite love story and couple. Getting sneak peaks of Luke and his journey in the earlier books made me eager for his love story. I loved seeing how his charater grew from rock bottom to where he is in the book. Isla is the perfect pairing with her caring nature and ability to see beyond what he's missing to the true caring person Luke is. This was such a heartwarming read and defineitly recommend giving the whole series a try.

This is book 13 in Wild Heart Mountain: Wild Rider's MC series. I've been waiting for Luke's (Chariot) story since reading about him in other books. Luke is a double amputee a casualty of war. Isla is a new mom running from an emotional abusive ex fiancee. Luke and Isla are so sweet together. Both broken but fit perfectly with each other. I loved how Luke cared for Isla and her son. Enjoyable read. I'm glad Luke got his HEA.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
