REVIEW To begin with, allow me to introduce myself. I am the founder and present owner of a successful London-based marketing company and I have a PhD in economics from Loughborough University. Now, to the book. If I had to pick a word which best summed it up, I’d go for ‘loyalty’. For, as everybody in the world of branding knows, without customer loyalty you’re buggered! In this well-organised and accessibly written text, the author, Kim D. Rozdeba, works hard from the opening chapter to help readers understand that strong branding will result in ‘loyalty’; and it’s this loyalty which will contribute to higher profits. Now, I like to think I know a lot about branding and fulfilling customer needs. But I still not only enjoyed this book very much, but I also felt thoroughly enlightened by the end of it. The author is, from what I can tell, a smart fellow who understands the complexity of successful branding. As a result, he seems comfortable examining the subject at depth, delving into (amongst other topics) brand construct, peer influence, identifying different customers, all things marketing and, what I thought to be particularly interesting and possibly helpful to a reader, the 5 Cs of Branding - Commitment, Construct, Community, Content and Consistency. I also enjoyed his insights into Baby Boomers as a market. So, if you happen to be on the look out for a book on branding which is (a) informative, (b) accessible, and (C) relevant to today’s markets, LOYALNOMICS ™ The Power of Branding is for you. I think most company owners/managers, etc, particularly if they are just starting out, will, upon finishing this book, not only understand the topic much better, but will feel inspired to ‘give it a go!’. All in all, a branding gem!
