Barely Blue: A Monarch Beach Mystery

Rate this book
It's Autumn on the Central Coast of California, where Detective John Kincaid is found, naked, in the pond on the Tanner property. Why is he naked? Was he going for a swim? And where are his clothes? Tim and Tee wonder what happened, and then cousin Mark comes to visit and all three of them are attacked! At the same pond! What is going on? Does the new nudist camp next door have anything to do with it? Or perhaps the homeless groups traveling the creek beds? There is danger everywhere these days.

This was such a fun book! I love Mead's country similes and metaphors and humorous dialogue. Her characters are warm and witty, and you want to be friends with them. The plot had some good twists so as to keep you guessing. Overall, a great read!

This was a fun entry in the Monarch Beach cozy mystery series. I really enjoyed reading it. Lots of bares and even a bear in this one. Can’t wait for the next one to be published.
