Not the big finale I was hoping for.

This series felt like the same book 3 times. Psyche and Eros go somewhere, Psyche brings it all crashing down and people die. I was expecting Psyche to go on trials to win Eros back as she does in the original myth.

The gods I think we're portrayed accurately and I really enjoyed the style of writing.

I think the main problem for me was I couldn't feel the chemistry between Psyche and Eros. They betray each other or have issues and don't really hash it out they just carry on.

This finished the trilogy, but it was a disappointing ending. It was a slow pace, the revelation of who her father is is underwhelming (guessed in previous book) and the ending felt rushed and anti-climatic. I guess she saved the nephew/half brother and they all ride off into the sunset, but this book was lacking and left me disappointed.

3 Stars - YA Greek mythology - book 3 / final book.

After the events of the ending of book 2, Eros teams up with his Father Ares, the god of war, to stop Deimos who has stolen a Adamante blade from Zeus.

I enjoyed vising Athena house in Olympus, I felt betrayal at the normally nice Hermes and I felt like most of the story, for the other characters, was wrapped up ok.

However, for the ending of the series, it was disappointing. I feel like the first book lured the readers in with the romance of Psyche and Eros then book 2 and 3 were just about the gods and their wars. I just personally wanted the romance back. Psyche began to annoy me also and the way their issues weren't resolved just brought up, fought about then moved on from as if never happened was frustrating.

After searching for the real Psyche myth after finishing reading and learning she was in fact supposed to have been made immortal the ending of the book just disappointed more.

Unfortunately a brilliant series ends with a whimper.

We do not get the ending we deserve, in fact it ends leaving you feeling that it is not quite finished and we don't get the HEA that I think we were all waiting for.

We get more gods involved this time, fate being involved, but not answered. A possible father, but she is not claimed and Eros and Psyche riding off to their future, but meh.

Past loves are also brought into the story for an extra trial and cause for pain on both halves, and although Psyche is obviously bright, she can be stupid at times.

Don't get me wrong, I did really enjoy this book and this series. I did think the gods were played right and we had a lot of angst, I'm just upset at the ending.

... so bad.

Honestly, I hated reading this book so much. It had SO much potential but... it sucked. Big time.

The first two books were super good, it's a really really bad addition to this book series.
