Having written an Erotic Asphyxia / Hanging anthology of my own, "Hangwoman Tales," I was really excited to read this one. Especially because Violet sequelized one of my stories from it!
I have to admit, my enthusiasm was slightly tempered because Violet actually wrote an even balance of men-hanging-women stories, along with women-hanging-men ones. As a fan & writer exclusively of Femdom stories, the former doesn't give me a thrill. But consequently, there's something for everyone here. The chapters alternate the setup so that like a sloppy hanging, you're left swinging both ways.
This book gets 5 stars from me from the get-go with its opening story, "Lady of Luxury," which is one of the best women-hanging-men Erotic Asphyxia stories I've ever read. I don't know if there's a phrase for this kind of erotica, but it's the type of story that focuses on class divide - the lady of the title is an aristocrat, and her passion for hanging men is afforded by the disposability of the peasantry. For Femdom fans like myself, this is a really compelling angle of the power dynamic to exploit and Violet exploits it deliciously by emphasizing the cold elegance and well-bred sophistication of the deadly Countess Cruella Cadieux (okay, the name's a little on-the-nose, but it's fun). The story is told from the side of a middle-class woman coming to interview her, and her gradual indoctrination into the thrills of being a hangwoman was also thrilling, because I love stories where normal people are seduced into a sexual dark side. They're not easy to write, but this one sells it beautifully.
It's probably in bad taste to review "Well Hung," the sequel (though more a self-contained "inspired by" tale than anything direct) to my own story "Office Tie," but suffice to say it's mischievously amusing, and ends with a good sex scene.
The third women-hanging-men story, "Little Blue Pills" is short but sweet. Too short, actually! I would've liked to have seen some more action, as it was a good premise but needed more room to breathe, ha ha.
As for the men-hanging-women stories, I'm sure they're great, but I'm not really qualified to assess them. For me, the opening story of this book alone makes it worth the price of admission.
Highly recommended to readers of either sex, who've ever had a dark fantasy about hanging - or being hanged by - either sex!

If you’ve read as many of Violet Reigns’ books as I have (I’ve read them all because I’m her beta reader), you’ll know what I mean when I say she has developed her own set of erotic tropes. Any used panties are fair game for a hungry nose. Nothing good happens behind the gymnasium at any college.
There are many others, but one we’ve seen often in her books is breath play, often with the appearance of a noose. In this collection, it features front and centre in its most extreme form. Erotic? Thrilling? Most definitely.

What continually impresses me, regardless of her tropes or distinctive style, is how much variety Violet Reigns can squeeze out of a subject. Dark, funny, twisted or steamy, you know you’re reading her stories, but every story is so different.
This collection is no exception. If anything, there’s even more contrast between the stories. Highlights… well, they’re all good in different ways, but I want to mention two.
Lady of Luxury tells the tale of a wicked countess and a New York journalist who wants to scoop the story about why the countess hasn’t taken a husband. Our journalist gets a much bigger story than she expects. It’s a decadent story that gets right to the heart of our animal desires as human beings. Lovely writing in this one.
Well Hung borrows a thread from Todd Salt’s story Office Tie and expands it into a full story. Violet Reigns mentions in her dedication that Todd Salt graciously gave her his blessing to write it. It has deadpan humour building up to a very wicked conclusion. I have to say that I just loved this story. It’s Violet Reigns at her wicked best.
Great collection. Only question is... what on earth will she produce next?

I love this author! Whatever she writes is golden, and this collection is no exception! Violet has this incredible ability to pull you into her lusty, dark, depraved mind! She was so flirty with these characters that I felt like I was there!! Each story was a gem, but my favorites were LADY OF LUXURY, THE SITTER, and WELL HUNG!
My mouth watered while reading these steamy stories that aren’t overly smutty but bring that element of nostalgia! Anyone whose ever experimented knows that orgasms are more intense when you are slightly gasping for air, and Violet pushes that button until you’ll want to explode as well!
Just make sure you have a towel nearby!! There will be a creamy mess!! 🥰🥰🥰
