I first have to say that this book isn’t a fantasy/magical one - I thought it might have been at first so just want to say that. 😂
“In the darkest hours, when fear grips the heart and hope feels like a distant dream, it is not silence that breaks us, but the whispers of what-ifs-shattered reflections of our reality and what might have been,” (p. 191).
Oof! Where to even begin with this one. Just oof! Speechless. This book will reached into the deepest parts of your soul, ripping your organs out slowly one at a time leaving you completely shattered. Just a heap on the floor. It really is the perfect title. P-E-R-F-E-C-T!
I’m still processing this one. But oof was it a good one. I still see certain scenes playing out in my mind - it’s one of those books that will stay with you long after you’ve finished.
The writing is just so perfect. The whole time I was reading I could see these characters so vividly in my mind - they became so much more than just characters in a book I read.
This book is full of hard-hitting life mantras/quotes - if you’re a quote person you’ll appreciate this book even more. But at the heart of this book is a story about overcoming grief - about finding the beauty in life after unimaginable loss. It’s a must read for those who love the type of read that leaves you shattered. But then put back together. Kind of.
And the twist! Oof! If you don’t see it coming (I was feeling it a bit - but it even hit me HARD) let’s just say it’s another reason why you won’t ever forget this book. It hits you like a big rig barreling down the road at 100 mph.
Fantastic all around - ALL THE STARS. Movie worthy!
Seriously, recommend this book!
