Seeking to reclaim her family’s lost wealth, Savannah arrives in the quaint town of Dahlia Creek.
Fueled by desperation, her overbearing aunt pushes her toward a marriage of convenience.
But fate has other plans.
Instead of the expected suitor, Savannah finds herself falsely engaged to a mysterious stranger who harbours no desire for wedlock.
Sheriff Emmett Sawyer, her reluctant partner in this charade, stirs feelings she never anticipated.
As sparks of romance ignite between them, secrets from her past emerge, and when danger descends upon Dahlia Creek, it's not just the flames of a wildfire that threaten everything.
Mae Mulick's Wildfire Bride is a wonderful novel that combines romance, suspense, and blossoming emotions. Characters are well-rounded and feel real and relatable. Savannah’s mix of determination and vulnerability, along with Sheriff Emmett’s cautious tenderness, keeps the story engaging.
Secrets are skillfully written and increase the tension as the characters face their situations. Dahlia Creek’s beautiful scenery and the protagonist’s passion are described vividly, making the story's mood shift smoothly and beautifully.
Wildfire Bride surprised me with its diversity of characters and the way that Mae Mulick portrayed the different walks of life and dragged me along for the journey. I felt all the emotions reading this book, from rage and frustration, to heartache and love.
