“God doesn’t forget people. People forget to pray.”

I love Jessica Ashley’s Christian romantic suspense, so when I realized that this book was chosen for bookclub this month, I couldn’t wait to read it. Ashley’s exploration of growth was powerful. She showed how change happens during moments of discomfort. Humans tend to shy away from discomfort, not realizing that it’s a powerful catalyst.

The youngest Hunt brother, Dylan, has returned broken from an assignment overseas. He feels he’s too broken to consider himself worthy of love, God’s or Emmaline Franklin’s. He’s angry with God and is suffering from survivor’s guilt. His discomfort at seeing Emma appear to move on with her life jumpstarts the unloading of burdens and encourages his growth. I loved watching his growth.

The tension created by the Karver family was perfectly balanced with the emotional pull of a tender reconciliation and room made for second chances.

I highly recommend this series!

Dylan Hunt came home from war, but part of him never returned. The battlefield followed him, haunting every quiet moment and every breath. Walls went up, hope shut down, and faith became a memory he couldn’t quite reach. But when Emma, the woman who once loved him, and never stopped, disappears into danger, the man who’s been running from his past finally runs toward the only One who can save them both, alongside his faithful K9 partner, Delta.

This story hurts in deep, holy ways. Delta dives into the ache of trauma, regret, and spiritual exile—and still, light breaks through. “What do I have to bring to the table beside a darkened soul and a broken heart?” Dylan asks, and Pastor Ford’s answer becomes the anthem of the book: “You aren’t ruined because of the things you’ve suffered. God has a plan for you.”

Jessica Ashley writes with such heart, conviction, and care that even the brokenness feels sacred. Every moment of fear becomes an opportunity for faith to fight back. Every tear feels like prayer. Through Dylan’s pain and Emma’s steadfast love, the story reveals what redemption truly is: not pretending the darkness doesn’t happen, but trusting Almighty God in everything, every moment.

Delta is emotional, intense, and unforgettable. It’s a story of returning, rebuilding, and believing that the same God who calls us home waits for us with His Son’s arms open wide and His nail-scarred hands extended in grace, mercy, and love.

Perfect for readers who love clearly Christian romantic suspense woven with second chances, deep healing, and a Savior who calls us home, meets us on the road, lifts the weary, restores the broken, and wraps us in mercy and love.

I received a digital ARC of this book from the author. I am not required to write a positive review nor paid to do so. This is my honest and unbiased review. My thoughts and opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on superb writing and story’s excellent content, ensuring transparency and reliability.

A compelling story of heartbreak and love.

•••••⋘⋘⋘⋘⁕⋙⋙⋙⋙•••••

Dylan, a former veteran who has lost hope and is haunted by his past.
Emma, a heartbroken girl who hasn't healed from her breakup with the one man she has really ever truly loved.
Brought together again, by danger and love.

When Emma gets kidnapped, in order to save her, Dylan has no choice but to face his fears, his past... and turn to His Savior he had forsaken.

Dylan and Emma have to learn to work together and despite how they feel, have to trust each other. Little by little, healing and redemption take place, and that is just the beginning of a heart-wrenching breakup turned into a beautiful love story.

This story shows the beauty of sacrifice, love, and forgiveness. You will see the power of trusting in God despite the storms surrounding you, and turning to Him in your times of trouble. Even when your faith is being put to the test, God will prevail!! ❤️

I have been waiting for Dylan's story! And it was well worth that wait!

Dylan has been to hell and back and has the scars, those you see and those you don't, to prove it. For self-preservation, as well as to protect others, he has chosen a very isolated life including shutting out the woman he loves. Emma has looked for him for years to no avail, but then a surprise revelation about her biological family brings with it danger and the Hunt Brothers step in to protect and help Emma get answers.

Despite his "issues", Delta determines that he will be Emma's personal protector, but no matter how much he tries to keep his heart in check, the love that he's pushed down is determined to rise up.

Excellent book.. excellent audio.

Completed: Oct. 29/25

Series: Hunt Brother Search and Rescue, #5 of 5
Format: audiobook borrow (Everand)
Narrators: Savannah Rivers, David Lee Garver - She’s pretty good and he’s improved his female voices. He does sound overly dramatic a lot though.
Challenge Prompt: BRHoliday Bingo — “set in autumn” - the first line of Emma’s first chapter talks about her enjoying the autumn day

Book #142 of 2025: This is the final book in the Hunt Brother series. Dylan has very serious PTSD and feels that the love of his life isn’t safe with him. He ended things years before. When she disappears, he throws himself into finding her.

Meanwhile Emma continues to love Dylan but comes to believe it is never going to happen. When her unknown biological brother shows up in town, she finally thinks she isn’t alone in the world anymore. With her adoptive parents gone, she is encouraged by this new revelation that her bio parents are out there, along with this brother.

Things go terribly wrong and both Dylan and Emma find themselves in danger. Through various twists and turns, and more loss, they find their way to one another. BUT! Not before more pulse-pounding close calls and struggles.

The narrators are fine but the female narrators definitely outshined the male narrators throughout this series. They should have done a quick Google search to hear how Matthias is pronounced though. The US and UK say it the same way. The name has an “i” and not a long “e” sound.

I enjoyed this book. It’s not my favourite of the 5 novels in this series however. I personally liked books 2 & 3 the most. There is a strong theme in Delta about giving everything to God and trusting Him with it, no matter what. I appreciated that. I certainly recommend this series and the one before it. Great suspense and romance!

Gut-wrenching, heartbreakingly beautiful and soul changing. Those are all the words and more I could say to how I felt about reading Delta. Delta is the last book in the Hunt Brother’s Search & Rescue series by Jessica Ashley. Before I read it I thought I was prepared and ready but this book, y’all! It takes you on a wild journey of heartbreak, love and healing through near death experiences for not just one character but Dylan and Emma.

This is the first quote from the book I highlighted and felt it was perfect. “If you’re going to try to talk me out of this, then you should know that there’s not a force in this world that will keep me from finding her.”

Dylan was fierce, loyal, and broken but he loved. Emma was lost and confused to why Dylan pushed her away all those years after his rescue from being imprisoned in a foreign country. That’s all I can say on that, so go read the book.

Emma’s story alone had me captivated because she faced so many challenges and dangers. Woah!

I am gonna say it again, I will give this whole series 10 ⭐️ it was that good!!

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

What a fast-paced, gripping story Delta was.The storyline drew me in, the plot was engaging, and Ashley wove faith into the story. Dylan has his own demons and baggage from his past, and Emma received some shocking news. Dylan and Emma share a history, but there's also tension between them. Delta is a story about healing, second chances, and redemption.

I knew this book would not disappoint. As much as I wanted to keep the review spoiler free, I have so many thoughts!
One thing I've loved has been getting little bits about Dylan throughout the Hunt Brothers series. By Tango, I was ready for Dylan's story, and Jessica Ashley did not disappoint.
I wanted to jump through my kindle to hug Dylan. Which he would have hated because of his inability to handle physical tough at the beginning of the book. And that broke my heart even more! Hearing about how little he could actually handle as we got inside his head brought on the tears. A hug from my mom is the best thing in the world to me-I can't imagine not wanting a hug from her.
I wasn't sure what to expect with Emma's side of the story-"an unexpected revelation about her estranged family"-but it wasn't a crazy family and "fiance"! But that's what I love about Jessica Ashley's books-even if you think you know what's going to happen, she flips it and keeps you on your toes. I think the thing that got to me the most was when I realized that eventually we'd have almost a "switch" with Dylan and Emma-he would find his way back to the Lord and Emma would be dealing with PTSD and Dylan would be right there beside her to love her.
I loved Dylan's walk with the Lord. We all have things in our life that make us feel like we aren't worthy and God won't love us-but some more so than others, like Dylan.
I am desperately going to miss the Hunt Brothers and their wives, but this was an amazing ending to an amazing series.

After getting a peek into Dylan's backstory during Tango, we get more details here in Delta.
Emma is Dylan's childhood love. She grew up knowing she was adopted but lost her adopted parents in a car accident. Emma has been struggling since Dylan came back, just as Dylan has.
On Emma's birthday, Dylan drops off a vase of wildflowers like he has for the past 10 years (the man may not talk to her, but he's clearly still in love). Emma has finally had it and loads up the 10 vases she's gotten. As she's leaving church, a man walks up and surprises her, telling her that he's her older brother, giving her some details about her biological family. Leaving the small diner where she spoke with him, she sees Dylan waiting by her car and she loses it: telling him she's over it all and giving him back the box of vases.
Fast forward to that evening and Emma's brother shows up at her apartment with flowers "for her birthday." She gets woozy and wakes up NOT in her bed.
Cue the entrance of Hunt Brothers Rescue with Dylan in the lead. He and his brothers quickly rescue Emma from her father's home (SPOILER: He's a mob boss) after she meets him and her mother (who is the one to put the rescue plan into place).
Emma's father had some shady dealings with another crime family, promising her in marriage to one guy.
This book was pretty much non-stop action with a betrayal no one saw coming before the Hunt brothers save the day (as usual).
Once again - I'm impressed with the story Jessica told, and I'm looking forward to reading "Lima" about the youngest Hunt: Lani.

Delta, by Author Jessica Ashley, blew me away. WOW!! Dylan Hunt changed after being imprisoned by the enemy and tortured - both mentally and physically. Before joining his Special Forces unit, Dylan was in love and followed his brothers into the call to serve the United States Armed Forces. Family, Service and Faith were three things his family structure was dedicated to.
However, after his imprisonment, Dylan changed on the inside, including his very own heart.

I loved this journey that Ashley wrote about regarding Dylan. When he realized Emma, his only true love, was in danger -- he stepped up to the plate to save her. Time after time, when he realized that the love he had for her had never died, he tried to protect her - from himself. When Emma needed a rescuer, he wanted to take the risk on his own.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!! Delta was written with Ashley's heart squeezed into the pages of every chapter. This journey for Dylan and Emma was priceless -- filled with action, inspiration, love and hope. I adored the process Dylan utilized to "find" himself. I enjoyed the fact that his family never let him go. But, what grabbed my heart and never let go, was the lengths he would go to to bring her home.

In all honesty, I give this book, "Delta", 5 out of 5 stars because of the lengths a family is willing to go to to bring a "prodigal son" home. The lessons that can be learned throughout this book are priceless. Ashley's talent in writing has the skill to bring a reader home to the end with their heart in their hands.

This book is so good, and I really enjoyed reading it. If you are looking for a clean love story that got a second chance then you have found it, "Delta" is the book for you. And please let us know what you think about the book. And it was a fantastic ending to another great series.

This is a love story between Dylan "Delta" Hunt and Emma. Dylan went on another mission and was captured by the enemy. They tortured him for months in every way you can think of. And when he was finally rescued, he was not fit to live amongst the rest of the town. When he was being rescued, he thought it was someone coming to hurt him again, so he almost killed his own brother. If he was not so weak from lack of food, he might have actually killed him by accident. After that he was afraid to be around too many people and stayed in isolation when he first came home. It took him months before he could even hug his mother. Dylan decided that peace and love were beyond his reach. That is when he backed away from Emma trying to keep her safe. And she just saw it as him not caring for her anymore and it broke her heart.

Then Emma's brother that she did not know she had arrived in town. All of a sudden she disappears and it is up to Dylan and his brothers to rescue her. Can Dylan do this mission? Will anything change with their relationship? Will he safely rescue Emma?

What a ride!

This was an exciting conclusion to the Hunt Brothers’ series and it was riveting. We see Dylan still struggling over the past with serious PTSD. I admit that it was heartbreaking and hard to read about how much he suffered and struggled. But he determined to overcome and allowed God to heal start his healing.

Emma was steadfast in her love for him. There was a little doubt for about two seconds and then she was right back in his corner. She is a sweetheart and his exact soulmate. They face difficult times but when one is weak, the other steps up and helps them be strong.

There is lots of action from bad guys and intense situations. They do get a hard-fought and tender HEA. I know the series had to end, but I’m sad to reach the final “The End”. I received a complimentary copy from the author and these are my voluntary and honest opinions. I was not required to leave a positive review.

I want to start by saying I received an ARC of this book. This is a Christian romantic suspense book and part of the Hunt Brothers Search and Rescue series. The main characters are Dylan “Delta” Hunt and Emma. Dylan came back from the war haunted by it and not the same guy as before. Emma never stopped loving Dylan even when he came back haunted she never stopped trying to reaching out to him. When Emma vanishes and her life is in danger will Dylan find her before it’s too late? I don’t know really where to start was this book was amazing. Dylan was so broken and I felt bad for what he went through. When he got better and Emma needed him he was there for her. They were amazing together. I loved watching them fall in love again. They both deserved it. God was there for them when they needed Him. When Dylan finally allowed God to heal him was great. Dylan was a great guy and Emma was such a sweetheart. I loved the side characters. Dylan’s family is amazing. Overall, I loved this book.

After being tortured for months in a third world country and finally rescued, Dylan Hunt comes home and the torture doesn't end after his rescue. Battling the demons that haunt him pushing him away from the one woman who's memory kept him alive in that dark pit he's faced with a new enemy.

Emma Franklin, kindergarten teacher and love of Dylan's life is kidnapped and after being rescued is being hunted by a crime family.

Dylan must face his demons and save Emma all the while finding his way back to God.
Will he be able to face them and save her and save himself?

I was blessed with the ARC of this book and I read it in less than 24 hours. I couldn't put it down. I swear each story gets better. You will fall in Love with Dylan and Emma. Hold onto your tactical boots because this story is non-stop action.

Dylan’s journey is heart wrenching and beautiful at the same time.
“’If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me.’ I read that in Jeremiah 29 just this evening. … I’m looking. Why haven’t I found Him yet? Why hasn’t He taken this pain from me? Made me whole again? Will He ever?”
Emma has been challenged in life as well “It was a season of grief and pain. One thing after another for three years after I lost them. God is the only reason I survived.”
Their story is beautiful. Emma’s unwavering faith in God is also challenged later, and watching Dylan begin the healing process enough that he can then guide Emma in her moment of doubt, and watching him find peace and acceptance through life threatening trials is worth the tears to get there. I really enjoy all of the Hunt brothers, but this may be the best one yet!

4.5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

Wow, what an ending!

This book made me become more aware of the pain that veterans with PTSD struggle with.

Dylan throughout the Hunt Brothers series is portrayed as someone who has been struggling with mental health and nightmares - someone who is mysterious yet concerned about others’ lives. And this book really described his character development. From being hated and unable to be touched due to his trauma to finding peace and comfort in God with the help of Emma.

Also, I’ve always wanted to read a Christian mafia book so this was a well written plot. Although, I feel like more information was needed about Emma’s past (sorry no spoilers) and the new characters.

Here we get a glimpse of Ashely’s new book series *wink* which was great! Can’t wait to dive into the next Seal series!

I loved LOVED the wedding!!!

*thank you for the ARC!*

I was provided a copy of this e-book by the author/publisher. All opinions in this review are my own.

This is the 5th book in the Hunt Brothers Rescue series.

When Dylan (Delta) Hunt is rescued from a hell pit capture, he's not the same man Emmaline Franklin knew and loved for most of her life. She still loves him but can't do anything with Dylan's unemotional responses.
When Emma is drugged and kidnapped, Dylan will do anything to get her back safely.
Dylan finally admits he needs God's help to overcome the trauma keeping him from truly loving Emma.
What happens when her real father and brother come after her at Hunt Ranch?
This is a gripping story of love, second chances and redemption.

Wowza! This book is incredible! I loved the faith thread in the story most of all. Dylan’s healing within the pages of the story was so well written and heartbreaking, then to see his healing was awesome. I loved the second chance romance between Emma & Dylan and the mystery/suspense elements had me on the edge of my seat. I started this book around lunchtime and finished before dinner because I could not put it down! This has been such a great series and I one I will definitely revisit! Oh, and my husband is also a fan!

What an adventure. Delta is the thrilling conclusion to the Hunt Brothers Search and Rescue series, if you have not read the earlier books in this series, I would highly recommend reading them first.

We saw a glimpse of Dylan in the Tango however that was nothing compared to what was to come in Delta. The history between Emma and Dylan was perfectly explained and their setup for a second chance is beautiful.

I'm really sad to say goodbye to the Hunt family, these stories are spectacular.

Filled with suspense, redemption, and second chances Delta is a story of coming home again.

Wow terrific story. A true inspiration about the things someone can survive if they only have faith.

Emma has family turn up out of the blue and when things go wrong, she turns to childhood love Dylan for help.

Dylan is a survivor who had been through hell. But i loved the way he found his faith when he was totally lost. Emma had her own loss of faith when times got tough but her faith in Dylan and his faith in God got them through.

I enjoyed the suspense and intense feelings this book brought up. The danger and support shown made this story a must read.

Beautifully written and great plot. I really loved it!

Wow😳 ..this book ramped up the suspense aspect quite a bit!! The end, I was not expecting at all...except for the HEA which is what we want for all of those Hunt brothers.
TW I didn't know I needed were POW scenes, water situations, and PTSD.
There were a handful of times I had tears in my eyes. Dylan really went through it, which was heavily hinted at in the other books. But this just hit differently for me.
Reading all of this series in a row can be kind of a lot. But I really did like the praying and verses quotes throughout this series. It didn't seem forced or out of place and the struggles were straight from real life.
Now onto Lani's book, the sister❤️

Well done! Jessica has a great way of writing mental health and PTSD. This whole book was so powerful. As someone with trauma and anxiety, I really felt connected to some of Dylan’s story. The way he dealt with his faith and his trauma was beautiful. And how Emma loved Dylan through the trauma was just lovely.
The Faith story was awesome and so inspiring. I really connected with so many parts of this story.
Man it was exhilarating as well! What a story! But the whole faith and mental health journey was so well done and I enjoyed this one so much. And it was so inspiring.

Faith Filled

Of all the Hunt brothers I have been routing for Dylan to find peace and find love. He had to reclaim his faith first and author Jessica Ashley has created a beautifully woven story to get him there. Applause for beautiful characters, a creative story line, and a faith filled journey. Jessica Ashley is a master of weaving the Christian faith into her books. Another suspense filled romance, Delta will sweep you off your feet and keep you on the edge all the way to the Happily Ever After.

This book was SO good. The whole series has been building to Dylan and Emma's story, and Jessica Ashley did not disappoint. It showed so much real emotion, really from the first chapter. Im not usually a person who's eyes well up, but this book got me in the feels multiple times. Watching Dylan work through the darkness, and Emma support him through it, was just amazing! I've loved this whole series, but this one was my favorite by far!

Delta is a very hard read for me cause I could feel what he felt. The part that we allow the devil keeps us in a bandage even after God had set us free and and ans us but we keep believing the devil over and over again.

Thank you, Jessica Ashley, I don't like you too much right now cause your new book is in February, woman February and why are you doing that to me? That is cold men. But ehhh sha, you did a very good job in this series.

Great ending to this epic series. And Dylan finally gets his story. He is still messed up from what he went through in captivity 10 years before, but finally realizes God is the answer. Awesome story with tons of suspense and drama as Dylan and Emma are in extreme danger and all the Hunt Brothers get together to rescue them. This may be the best of the series.

I am so in love with this series! I had a feeling Dylan and Emma's story would be emotional but I didn't expect to be hysterically crying. When you read the scene you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. Such a highly intense book with a beautiful ending, loved it!
