Despite harboring some natural insecurities, Scarlett Reese is a confident young professional, cherished by everyone around her. Though making friends is easy for her, finding love seems to be another story. Meeting the perfect match feels impossible, especially when every guy she brings home to meet her Deaf family gets intimidated and immediately bails. It seems the only constant man in her life is her best friend, Lorenzo. But he’s just that, her best friend... A local bar owner, Eli Romero, is instantly attracted to Scarlett the night she and her coworkers come to his bar for the first time. Having never seen anyone use sign language before, he’s intrigued by everything about her. Eli commits to learning sign language to communicate with her Deaf family, because he plans to be around a while. But there is one obstacle, her best friend. Lorenzo Tate has been in love with Scarlett since they were kids. For fear of losing her, he’s kept his feelings as silent as the world around him. When he sees how serious Eli is in his pursuit, Lorenzo must act fast and confess his love, or else lose her forever. Scarlett is left to navigate a sticky love triangle between two men who care for her deeply. Confident that she has found the perfect man, she commits to a life with one of them and says good-bye to the other. Fate steps in, throwing her world for a loop. She wakes from a coma and has a new view of the two men in her life, leaving her to choose yet again. Will true love prevail?

The plot was good. I enjoyed the book overall. However, the ending left me wanting more, and I was a little confused. lol, perhaps that will be in Tracey's next book 🤷‍♀️

I love that this story had Deaf characters and included features of the culture!

Four FAT stars for this Debut!

Why ? because oh so many reasons! Love triangle! Deaf Representation and ASL! Amnesia! The authors note and topics of discussion at the end of the book!

Most love triangles have a charachter you end up disliking but I really liked Lorenzo and Elijah and Scar was really between a rock and a hard place IMO.

I wonder if I would feel the same if things didn't end up the way they did.

Lorenzo: Long time friend (Deaf) who has harboured feelings and has been a pillar of strength, love and comfort to Scarlett.

Elijah: New guy, older, handsome, appreciates her curves and beauty takes the time to learn sign language so that he can communicate with her inner circle.

Both so devoted🥹

Recommend! And I cannot stress how much I appreciated the topics of discussion at the end!

I don’t read often, but this story completely hooked me from start to finish! Every detail felt deliberate, and I felt teleported into the shoes of each character when their perspective was presented. The plot twist was brilliantly done- it left me thinking about it long after I finished it. This is definitely book you’d want to have with a book club, the chisme is top notch! If you’re looking for something not too long, but powerful, this is it. I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to see what Gramajo writes next!

Omg!! I couldn’t put this book down!!! I loved how unique the plot was for the story and the way the author had you guessing. It made me want to keep reading to find out what happens next! Not many books feature characters that are Deaf and Hard of hearing in their spicy romance novels in the storyline but this one does!!!! The author also has excellent explanations of emotions to where you can feel the characters sadness, annoyances, love, etc. Bravo, well done! Looking forward to more books!!

I loved reading this book from the opening chapter to the conclusion, the author did a great job keeping the story moving. You think you know what is coming but there is just the right twist to keep it unpredictable. The love triangle keeps you interested into who Scar will choose and whether or not you yourself are Team Lorenzo or Team Eli. This is a great, quick read if you are looking for something light for a trip or just a good couch read.

*spoilers*

It was cute I guess. I read it for the Deaf culture aspect of the story+book club. The story fell flat for me, it wasn’t my favorite I’ve read- I skimmed through a lot of it TBH.

I’m not sure if I liked the epilogue… I liked the idea of it but then …what about the girl Eli meets at the end? It was a moot point then. Does this mean Eli doesn’t end up learning sign language at the end? (I really liked this plot when he ends up meeting another Deaf girl and he already knew ASL- it was a very sweet way to bring the story full circle with the ASL aspect)

With the epilogue, it felt like two endings- Meh. I liked the first “ending” the best.

Wasn’t the biggest fan.

This story touched me in ways I didn’t expect. Scarlett’s bond with her Deaf family was portrayed with so much tenderness and authenticity. Eli’s dedication to learning sign language wasn’t just romantic it was deeply respectful. And Lorenzo... my heart ached for him. The love triangle felt genuine, emotional, and never forced. Highly recommended for readers who love character-driven romance with real emotional depth.

I just finished the book and did not expect that ending! Really well done. It's hard to write too much without giving away spoilers, so I'll just say that learning about Deaf culture and ASL was a neat feature of this book that sets it apart from other romance novels. A fun read that will stay with me for quite some time. I'm looking forward to the author's next book.
