lucy tells every person she meets how worried she is about her dad but instead of ever actually speaking to him, she spends 90% of the book speaking to a dog. can’t blame her (he is cute) but also can’t summon much interest in 200 pages of ‘conversation’ between Lucy & Humphrey vs 90 pages of human interaction.
