A Goon's Healing

Rate this book
From the night Haleem ‘Leem’ Goon stumbled into her life, Shiya felt an undeniable attraction. The problem is, Leem is everything Shiya doesn’t want in a man. His rude banter is obnoxious, and his attitude could use some work. Most of all, he exemplifies what she said she’d never subject herself to. All in all, Leem finds a way into her heart. However, Shiya doesn’t trust it.

Leem is on the path to redemption. He’s burnt many bridges and broken trust in his family. After a much-needed epiphany, he’s ready to get back on track. Bumping into Shiya, he saw it as fate. Seeing the potential of what they could be, he not only pursues her, but he pursues himself. On a road to healing and becoming a better version of himself, Leem is done playing games with her.
In true Goon fashion, he must ‘make her a believer.’ What will it take for her to give him a shot?

What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” _ (KJV)

Awesome

Wow

Second chance is what I would say
Leem found a reason to move on from his past the drugs use drinking was he was dealing with death of his father feeling less of a man... But upon meeting Shiya who didn't play no games and eventually became his best friend now his wife mother of his kids..

I'm glad her mom and dad got himself together now her mom can let go and be happy ...

I like how we got the chance to also see how Leek and were doing well for themselves finally gave there family the wedding But pregnant with baby number 2 both couples are going strong....

Leem & Shiya 🤭

Leem & Shiya thought they had everyone fooled with their “best friend” act. I mean they tried until one night things just…happened. Now Leem is applying pressure. Shiya has to deal with the past and get some healing to truly move forward with Leem. While Leem has to stick to his dry era leaving alcohol in yesterday.

This was a really good part 2 to the previous book. I will say around 87% I started skipping pages.

Generational Curses

Never say never for what you least expect or thought is where life will turn you into the person you didn’t want to become. Faith can break chains and bondages that’s been pulling your family down for centuries.

Be the change that will bring redemption while allowing Gods Grace and Mercy to shine through you.

i LOVE LOVE LOVE, Leem's development between books one and two - he went from a dark place of addiction to therapy, healing, AND falling in love with our girl Shiya. i LOVE Shiya's boss demeanor - i mean she knows exactly what it means to move in silence, using her story as a testimony from God. while i can reason with Zelle's feelings when she found out Shiya was making all of these big moves and she wasn't there to "support" her - i can understand Shiya's disposition in wanting to keep things between her and GOD - because sometimes that's all you need until the plans have reached completion.

Leem and Shiya spent so much time building a foundation of friendship i think it was inevitable that they fell in love - watching them both navigate through their healing with positive coping mechanisms was so refreshing - and i love the fact that Brii makes this so relatable by including faith-based love.
