In a world where loyalty is rare and trust is a precious commodity, Havoc and Rogue dive into the dangerous game of love. Havoc has always been a protective, dominant force in Rogue’s life, a fierce friend who shields her from the shadows that haunt their world.
Rogue, strong-willed and unapologetically bold, knows Havoc’s depths better than anyone. She’s seen the darkness that lies within him and craves the thrill of stepping closer, even when she knows she’s playing with fire.
Their relationship has always been filled with unspoken tension, a slow burn of hidden glances and stolen touches. But when one heated night blurs the boundaries between friendship and desire, they’re forced to confront feelings they’ve buried for too long. As they navigate a twisted web of secrets and lies, their loyalty to one another is tested, and they must decide if the risk of losing everything is worth the chance of finding love. In this seductive and intense dark romance, Havoc and Rogue face the dangerous line between friend and lover, challenging their past, their fears, and the limits of their hearts.
Damn! Henry/Havoc caught hell growing up in that house, and he had all but gave up hope for a better life. However, by befriending twins Karma/Rogue and Kane/Viper became the saving grace that he needed. Their trio was strong. They did everything together, watched out and protected each other. When the time came to help Henry, they did so without question.
Fast forward... parts of this read were slow, but when it picked up boy did it! That damn Duke! Nobody questioned his moves or motives enough for me, cause sir what is we doing? 👀 Ole selfish ass! 😤🤬 Havoc and Rogue's back and forth went on for a month of Sundays, and I'm like will y'all just get together already damn! 👀 I forgot about Havoc's connection to Reaper! 😳 Now, Rogue was a firecracker! She was good with her ish, but led with emotions that put her in harm's way. Havoc was a hot head that just didn't care what anyone thought about what he did or said. How do these two personalities work? 🤷🏿♀️ All the chaos that these two caused in this thang, I wonder what will happen in Viper's book. Cause mother of death is coming and it's not looking good for anyone.
I’m sorry but this book is just so exhausting. As great as it started out at 34% it has went downhill. When I first started reading I was like so into it, but it just went totally off course after the beginning. Like I forgot that this was apart of the first book. The so called love connection between Havoc and Rogue became soooo redundant and boring I was getting mad. At first it was cute get a little smile on your face, but after a while it was like omg just move on already. It got so bad I started skipping their parts all together. Then the fighting and the stupid torture was like 🤦🏿♀️🤦🏿♀️. I skipped all the fight scenes. And with all the skipping I still only made it to 34% and the story still has not moved along. Havoc and Rogue still being stupid and annoying, I don’t even care if they do get together or not. Honestly I’d rather them not, the author has made me not like them for each other. Duke playing everyone like puppets and they all to blind to see it. On top of that I didn’t know if the twins were white or black for a good part of the book. Esp since havoc seems to have grown up in an all white neighborhood, and I don’t remember there being a real description of the twins. Overall the author has exhausted me with the not so love story between havoc and rogue and I’m probably not gone finish this one. I don’t really care for all the dumb fights, I really wanted to read this to get the little brother’s story but the author made it to where I don’t even care anymore.
I absolutely adored Part 2, and in a lot of ways, I enjoyed Book 2 more than I love Book 1. A true friends to lovers romance. They were playing cat and mouse through most of the book, but I never found it to be unbearable, because there were so many other moving parts going on, especially with the Detective and Duke.
As far as characterization is concerned, I love both Karma and Havoc. Havoc was nothing like Reaper. Whereas Reaper is cold and foreboding, Havoc was bold and outlandish. The scene when he knocked out the husband and him and the wife still got in on… my God on today. Because he was so brash, Havoc got humbled quite a bit too, whether it was by Reaper, Pharaoh, or even by Viper. But he always pulled himself back up. I am really glad that he and Reaper have formed a relationship with each other and I was really happy when he learned his real name.
I also loved Karma. She never let her gender stop her from living her life how she wanted to. She could hang with the best of them, male or female, and the fact that she literally took out an entire family… not to be trifled with in the slightest.
I hope we get a book 3. I want to know what’s going to happen with the Mother of Death. Are the Haitians going to go at with Phox and Hades/PA? A very strong 4.5 stars. Really enjoyed this book.
The beginning of the book starts off really well. We’re introduced to a trio friend group. Henry (Havoc), Karma (Rogue) and Kane (Viper). Havoc is in an abusive household, which leads to him living with Rogue and Viper. Their uncle Duke raises them all.
Now in their early 20s the tension between Rogue and Havoc gets overwhelming. They are realizing that the other has grown up and filling out and they desire to be more than friends, they’re just unsure how to go about it. Many ups and downs occur, but this is where it gets tricky.
While I think the author had a great story on her hands, I think she should’ve broken this up into 2 separate books. The lead up to them joining Pharaoh’s army was weird, and felt disconnected. Then, She introduces Mother of Death, but it gets stale. The last fourth of the book was a bit all over the place. The push and pull between Havoc and Rogue was too drawn out. Idk…something was missing. The loss of connection happened halfway through.
I loved everything about Havoc’s and Rogue’s journey to a HEA!!!…I love how she started looking out for him from jump and made sure he understood that her and Viper would always be there for him!!!… She took no prisoners when it came to Havoc, no matter how he worried and stressed her out!!!… He tried his best to maintain the distance that Duke was trying to place on them, but the heart wants what it wants and I was so happy he finally let her know!!!… Havoc knew how much Viper and Rogue loved their uncle and I respected that he finally stood up for himself and didn’t wanna continue to fell like a burden!!!… I happy to see Reaper and Lotus back on the set too!!!… Now I need to know who Miss Razor Blade is because she stepped on the scene ready for revenge for her brother and she came with a secret weapon too!!!…
Havoc and Rogue made my head hurt. They obviously had feelings and a mutual attraction for each other but did everything in their power to be in someone else's face to the point of exhaustion.
Havoc basically traded one cage for another. How he lasted that long and "His friends" not notice the abuse is crazy. Then again they were all being used and abuse.
All in all the plot was as scattered as this couple's feelings and it just didn't hit for me.
Genre: Suspense War Fiction Troupe: Best friends-to-lovers Spice Level:🔥🔥 Possible Triggers: child abuse Tissues: 0 Typos/Spelling: yes
I said what I said and as always: don't take my word for it. Read the book, form your own opinions, and support your authors!
I struggled to continue reading this book. If not for the basic plot & the fact that I enjoyed reading the first book, Reaper this would have been a DNF. However, I pushed through. I'll say a few chapters and several passages could have been left out. It was wasted reading and did not add to the plot. It just dragged on and was super repetitive. If you can get through that, then the story is worth considering. I'm looking ro book 3, as not enough background of who Viper is wasn't explained in either of the 2 earlier books. I think if his life style had been shared more then the filler pages would have added to the story. Overall I gave the book a 4, based on story.
Havoc and Karma got on my nerves with the back and forth. This was a friends to lovers romance. Havoc and Karma grew up together and were best friends. As they got older they developed this flirty relationship but never did anything until they did. they fell out for a year and stopped talking. during that time Karma kept a huge secret from Havoc. after Havoc and Karma got together, Havoc's past kept trying to mess things up for him. enjoyed Reaper and Havoc's connection.
Karma was crazy and a killer. all I can say is Havoc don't cross her out you'll end up like the other two exes.
Havoc (Henry) had a rough childhood. But meeting twins Kane & Karma (Viper & Rogue) gave him a lifeline. These 3 had a bond like no other, having to take care of Havoc’s abusers in HS. Later, their uncle Duke used Havoc, Rogue and Viper as fighting and killing machines to make money off their ruthlessness. This was a good story in how they gave a background to the 3 and their relationship among each other and their co-dependency on each other. Havoc loved some Rogue but kept playing like he didn’t so he didn’t ruin their friendship. But the calm her crazy brought to his life couldn’t be denied.
Kendra, This was such a good read. I loved how Havoc found his way. He had so many obstacles that he overcame. Rouge and Viper were so in tuned with one another and Havoc fit right in. This read showed loyalty, faithfulness, joy and peace. It also showed what happens when greed is involved with people. This read also shows how to let go and forgive. Great Read🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Karma, Karma, Karma! Such a loose cannon but so fierce and determined when it came to those she loved. Havoc went through hell and still had a wit about him that made you understand how loose his screws truly were. The dynamic of their trio with Viper was so fun to read, and I loved them as a unit. Everything that imploded through this book had me on edge and worth every single page down to the very end. Highly recommend.
Now rouge and havoc was gettin on mi nerves lol, the pure love they felt for each other was undeniable, but they kept geekin themselves up tht they wasn't meant to b, im glad they gave it! They make a beautiful couple! Aww... Babi maverick, rogue was wrong for tht, but i saw her reasonin. Aw...to get to c wht reaper was up to was loveli! Its a boy!! ☺️🤫, viper u on deck! U did tht!
It started off ok, then it got confusing and complicated for absolutely no reason. Then there was a big part of the story that felt extremely stagnant and like the plot wasn't moving forward. I saw the potential, the execution just left much to be desired. Also, both the main characters were severely annoying, childish and manipulative, and any MMC that threatens the FMC with pregnancy against her will is an automatic "hell naw" to me.
I love me some Havoc! This story was emotional and pulled out emotions. I love him and Rogue and Havoc friends to lovers story. Lawwd and that Pharaoh he got that Army all the way together. Duke was a cool with his hiding agenda. Kendra Necole you did your thang!!!!!!
Good friends to lovers tale! Heavy on the family drama, toxic characters, and standing on business!!! There are parts to make you question, root for characters, curse them out and love them all over again! Havoc is a good toxic and Rogue is off her rocker 😂😂 Cant wait for the next story!
Wow. Just as good as part one. Havoc’s upbringing was as hard as Reaper’s, but at least he had Rogue and Viper—even Duke to an extent. I was so happy when Rogue and Havoc got it together because whew it was too much. Mother of Death though….uhhh I’m assuming either she or her secret weapon is gonna be a problem.
I enjoyed this book from the beginning to the end. I am so happy to know how they were friends before lovers. I enjoyed their whole storyline and I also love the fact that you included his big brother. I can't wait to get to Viper cause that's right there. I know it's gonna be a one hell of a story.
I don't usually leave reviews but I have to say...this book is long AF for absolutely no reason 😭 it had it's moments but im sorry it just wasn't that good. idk if I'm going to finish the 3rd book with Viper, part of me wants to just so I can be done with the series but I might have to come back after a palate cleanser
By far one of the best friends to lovers books I've read. Havoc and Rogue loved hard and worked harder. Their love for each other was undeniable since childhood, and I'm glad they got their HEA.
Just like book 1, this was 🔥. A bit of a slow burn in the beginning but there was plenty of action and spice once it got rolling. I’d actually love a book about Viper now that we’ve seen Reaper, Havoc and Rogue’s story. 10/10 would recommend!
friends to lovers. I can’t do it. Most of the books was them flirting. I ASSumed this one would be like the other and it was the opposite. I still finished but it’s not my go to trope.
This series doesn't get enough recognition. The characters go through so much with each other at a very young age. Events that were probably preventable happened because they moved off emotions and not logic. I am ready for the next book.
Rogue,Havoc and Viper have an awesome dynamic relationship. The storyline and backsyory makes for an awesome read. Book 2 kinda dragged for me some. I'd still suggest this series as a must read because of the storyline.
Utilizing someone else’s skills for your gain will bring forth resentment or shutting down losing those you love. When you let someone go, when they come back the love will be stronger and valuable.
I love this series!!! Rogue is off her rocker a little and Havoc’s energy is serious!!! I love the trio together. Omg!!!… and the interactions with Reaper (sighs) I love it all!!! Definitely recommend reading!!!
That uncle was a piece of trash. I feel that he got off to easy. Havoc and Karma had the perfect deadly love story. Karma was nothing to play with. I have to see what her twin is about to get into.
I don't know where to start with this page turner such a great book the balance of action love and sex whew children if you loved the first book you gone most definitely love this one get ready for a wild ride
Havoc is THAT. MAN!!!! I love this man REAL BAD!! I love how he is cocky & sure of himself, I love how he’s a natural protector, I love how he’s goofy but very much with ALLLL the BS. This man is about himself, his family & loyalty. This book was amazing. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Oh my God, this book was good! Havoc was so cocky at times he worked my nerves but he grew on me lol! Karma she was always about business! I really hope they find out about their low down Unk Duke
