A return to the chaotic world of the MacGregor clan and if I'm really honest I do think these books need reading in order to get the best out of them. This particular story is a case in point because everything that Charlotte is going through is directly because of previous events. Charlotte fears she's losing her mind as she constantly keeps having odd moments when she loses her grip on reality and experiences strange delusions or flashbacks or maybe they are memories but that's not possible is it ? Well with her landlord Niall having the ability to manipulate memories maybe there's a lot that's been going on that Charlotte doesn't remember! Niall takes his duty to his family seriously and if Demons or Gremlins or anything else needs taking care of then he's the man or Warlock for the job ! To top it all off he's now the landlord of Charlotte and it looks like the bad luck just keeps on coming. Still with this crazy family anything can happen and usually does! Such a madcap family but if you want fun and men in kilts then this certainly delivers. Seeing the serious one get the girl was sweet but honestly with naked guys running around, brothers who share a bizarre sense of humour not to mention ghosts , it's a wild ride but fortunately our heroine Charlotte is a little bit special herself. This voluntary take is of an advance copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair
Charlotte Carver is sure there is something wrong with her head, besides she can't sleep and to top it off there is a leak right over her bed! That darn Niall MacGregor is so a slumlord, it's been a month that she's been calling him to fix the problem, but does that gruff, handsome man reply to her calls.....NO. She keeps seeing things in her head that seem to be coming from a Black & White movie, yep she's losing it alright. Now that she finally has the man in her sights, she's not letting him get away even if it's in bed after all, isn't that what she has always wanted?
Niall MacGregor has lived his very long life cleaning up wherever is needed while his family is up to their mischievous ways. He lives day to day with the agony of having to have caused the lass so much pain by removing her memories and having her thinking she is daft. Reigning in the love he has felt for her from the moment he set eyes on her, because Niall feels he wouldn't be worthy of her love, how can she love a warlock like him, he doesn't deserve a kiss from her, so he must suffer in silence. He will however protect her from himself and all evil, even one that has haunted him for 100's of years. But will he be able to protect himself from her?
This is one wacky family, but a united one and Uncle Raibert never ceases to amaze me, there is more to him than meets the eye.
Another thoroughly entertaining and fun read. I LOVE everything about this series. The MacGregor family has it all. Sexy Scottish warlocks who love with all they are. Humour by the mile, and an adventure that makes reading seem like minutes instead of hours. I always look forward to the news of a new release in the series, it's so much fun to read. I highly recommend starting from the beginning and swear you'll fall deeply in love with all things MacGregor 😘
The ratings on this book are confusing. Really, 4/5 stars?!
To start, this book is poorly written. The characters are so basic bitch it’s astonishing. The hero is a hot wolf shifter who drives a Harley but is like a big softie. The heroine is just a mess with fake red hair and mental problems. Yes, you can see where this book would fit a certain niche with monster energy drinkers. But I digress..
Charlotte feels mentally insane because her town was invaded by a powerful family who have no substance and essentially a vague background story. They steal her memories because she couldn’t handle them being magical and what not. So the hot dude is like in love with her before the story gets going which is confusing. The beginning is that they can’t stand each other and she hates him. Then she magically regains her memory and is like yooo this dude is hot and I trust him and love him now. All within the first 100 pages. It’s so god damn cringe it hurts.
Halfway through the book Euann magically changes to Ian and it’s hurts my brain because the editor should have caught this OBVIOUS typo.
This is is a book that maybe I would have enjoyed as like a 16 year old sneaking erotica books. It would have been enough for me then. The idea is very interesting and could have been executed better. The dialogue was stale and flat, the characters had no depth, and there was nothing even remotely redeeming about this story.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I enjoyed this book in the series as much as the previous books. Charlotte Carver knows that she is not crazy but the slumlord Niall MacGregor is always gone and nothing is getting fixed lately. She is remembering things that don't make any since to her, their Uncle Raibert is always calling her Crazy Charlotte her best friend Lydia keeps telling her everything is alright but she knows it isn't but since Lydia is married to the oldest MacGregor, Erik they don't really talk like they use to because then she lived in Lydia's grandmother's house with her. But since this family has come to town everything is just changing to fast and things tend to happen but when she questions it something happens she gets the same answers then she picks up a paper that she has been writing on but she is not sure what it all means. when she gets to NIall apartment to tell him what is going on in her apartment with all the water coming from the unit above her seems like the whole family is in his apartment she tells him what is going on he assures her it will be taken care of she also tells him she needs a new bed on her way out she sees a guy who came to her apartment the day before looking for Niall, she tells him about his bookie and he needs to stop coming to her apartment. Dar is a Luck Demon and Malina's husband who is very upset about Niall trying to kill him. Charlotte tries to walk off when he grabs her arm and delivers a gift that is not welcomed but then he changes his mind when Malina tells him she will leave with him if he will remove the bad luck from Charlotte he agrees and gives her good luck and she realizes her mind is clearer than it has ever been before and Niall will not let her leave his place he is frightened that something might happen to her and of coarse someone petrified her and wakes in Niall's bed the next afternoon. Their story is intriguing, romantic suspense. Great book. Love the well rounded characters. I was given a copy as a gift by author. I am providing an honest review with no obligations.
Michelle Pillow - Spirits and Spells (Warlocks MacGregor Book 5) The Warlocks MacGregor Series by Michelle Pillow is simply magically delicious and combines all the right elements; Hunky roguish Scottish warlocks in kilts, shifters, supernatural spirits, a mischevious fun loving but fiercely loyal family, humor, romance and adventure.
This is Niall and Charlotte’s story. Charlotte’s memory of certain events she witnessed was wiped out by Niall. He felt it was the best way to protect her from going crazy learning that magic was real, it was also to protect his family. Unfortunately Charlotte is plagued by her memory loss and feels she is losing her mind. Suddenly she is slowly remembering bits and pieces. The one person she might be able to get answers from, the serious aloof Niall, she is sure dislikes her.
Niall meanwhile feels horribly wrong for what he’s done to Charlotte and goes out of his way to “protect”her, even becoming her landlord. He denies his pull and attraction to Charlotte. Niall has also taken on the roll of protector for his family and is always busy taking care of their supernatural world, he has no time for romance, even if she’d have him. As her memories return Charlotte and Niall are thrown together especially once a spirit targets her. Charlotte is a strong female character despite her memory, hallucinations issues and secret attraction to the broody Niall. I love how excited she was to find out magic is Real and how eager she was to learn more about this world. This storyline brings in many of the characters from the previous books and also ties up some loose ends. There is a lovely gradual up and down love that finally blooms between the two well developed main characters. A great series that gets better with each book and has the reader smiling the whole time.
This is an immensely enjoyable audiobook! Part of what makes it so fun, I think, is how the narrator voices the paranormal MacGregor brothers with appropriate Scottish accents. Such a hot accent! This book also has a fair amount of humor, which I also love, especially in a book that could have otherwise been quite serious, which this one certainly could have been given the mental anguish of the heroine. I also enjoyed all the often humorous family interactions between the very different brothers and their mother … she with her children (whom she sometimes despairs of, for different reasons) and the heroine. As I stated above, the poor heroine is really suffering, especially in the first part of the book. She thinks she's losing her mind … and she literally is, thanks to the hero wiping out parts of her memory! I'll let you discover why if you decide to read or listen to this book, but it's not done with malice, and he believes it is for her protection. The hero is a somewhat sullen loner, a protector type who has given up a lot to protect his family over the centuries. The hero and heroine start off somewhat adversarial but have an attraction that both want to deny … but do you think they will be able to for long? I've read or listened to many other books by this author, and I like how she sideways mentioned some characters in her other series, like the Var and Draig shifters living on Earth, in this story. Nice way to tie everything together, even if it's in the smallest of ways. I enjoyed this book immensely, and I'm looking forward to listening to the next one!
I received a promo code for this audiobook, but that did not affect my review.
This book for me was rather interesting to rate as there were some really nice elements with some of the supernatural that needed to be dispatched, the family and their banter plus the two leads were actually pretty nice.
Charlotte had the unfortunate luck of finding herself with information about the supernatural that she shouldn’t have. As a result, with so much magic going through her and around her some dormant spirit viewing tendencies had been awakened which made her think she was going crazy.
Niall is the family protector of their secrets and enforcer for those bad super naturals that cause mischief. It was his job to take the knowledge from Charlotte and he was never happy about that considering his feelings for her.
I guess you could say a bit of enemies to friend is how these two started out, although each secretly lusted after the other. Their relationship once it started picked up pace fairly quickly and went from hate to lust/love immediately with all of the crap his family did forgiven.
For me some of the things that made this not quite a four-star read were how quickly things got resolved for one. Lots of telling and not enough letting the story unfold organically with some of the situations that Niall and his family members found themselves in. The characters were for me not fully fleshed it was like they all had a stereotype roll to fill and that was the extent of them. Charlotte taking the whining a bit past the point where I cared. Some editing issues with a name change of one of the characters are what made this not make the four star mark for me.
I received an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.
I have been waiting for Charlotte and Niall’s story and it did not disappoint. Niall is a warlock whose large clan family recently moved to the small town of Green Vallis. He is a wolf shifter and the enforcer for his clan. He spends all of his time cleaning up messes, protecting the family, and battling evil. Niall is a little rough around the edges, a little wounded. I have a soft spot for the people, like Niall, who are a bit uncomfortable in their life and in their skin because they don’t feel like they fit in or are worthy. So I love when they finally see their truth and they get swoon worthy HEAs. Charlotte is a human who saw and was involved in one too many magical events resulting from the MacGregor clan of warlocks. (See books 1 and 2 in the series) To protect the family and Charlotte’s sanity, Niall erased her memories. Unfortunately, Charlotte knows she’s missing time, feels crazy, has nightmares, cannot sleep and is having seizures. When the touch from a luck demon brings back her memories, everything changes for Charlotte and Niall. To get to their HEA they’ll have to deal with a wraith, unpack a lot of baggage and repair Charlotte’s trauma and betrayal. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline as shown through sweet moments, steam, laugh out loud moments, supportive friends, messy families, painful pasts, surprises, and heart squeezing love. I loved the insanity that is the MacGregors and am looking forward to reading more in this series.
If you like handsome, slightly roguish men in kilts, with a touch of magic(k) and mystery thrown in, then the Warlocks MacGregor series is ready and waiting for you. One thing you can say about the MacGregors, their loyaly to their family is paramount, and youngest son Niall takes his duty to his family very seriously. When, (in an earlier book) Niall is asked to remove some terrorising memories from local woman Charlotte Carver, he does so only because he believes it is best for both her and his family. But it doesn't sit easily with him, and he even buys Charlotte's apartment block just to be able to keep an eye on her. Or that's what he tells himself. There's no way he'd admit to any attraction. Charlotte has just about had enough of the MacGregors. They seem to be everywhere, and now the handsome but broody Niall MacGregor has become her landlord. She's been having nightmares and memory lapses, and to top it off, her lousy landlord still hasn't fixed the ever worsening water leak. A flooded apartment is the final straw, and Charlotte confronts Niall, but is she really ready to know the truth? This is a fun series with some charming and quirky and delightful and sometimes even irritating characters. It doesn't have a very strong element of suspense, the plots are not overly complicated, and I personally prefer this author's Dragon Lords books over this series, but it should make you smile.
I received an ARC of this book for the purpose of an honest review. 4 1/2 stars
POV: dual HUMOR: some F BOMBS: no NEW AUTHOR FOR ME: no POSSIBLE TRIGGERS: ghosts, wraiths, gremlins, goblins, possessed by a ghost/wraith, feeling insane from lost time/memory, betrayal,
MAIN CHARACTERS: Charlotte Carver (human and had gone through some rough times missing parts of her memory) and Niall MacGregor (the youngest but most responsible, rugged handsomeness)
PROS: 1. The written dialogue, you can hear the Scottish accent 2. The author can definitely write 3. There's never a dull moment: fast pace, one thing happens after another, and action scenes 4. It's nice having dialogue and thoughts not be saturated with f-bombs, etc. 5. HFN Epilogue
CONS: 1. There's a lot going on it's a bit chaotic with all sorts of paranormal beings appearing and wreaking havoc 2. Didn't feel the chemistry between MCs 3. Though each book concentrates on a different pair of MCs, the series is ongoing and should be read in order. I wish there was a way for the book blurb to state that.
NOTEWORTHY: 1. Recommend reading in order of the series and NOT as a standalone - it can be quite confusing and reader won't understand certain remarks or innuendos 2. Sexy times were really sweet and not explicit. 3. A Preach-It-Sister quote from book, "There are no warriors left in the world who fiercely protect their women."
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Charlotte is beginning to crack. She is suffering from memory loss, time displacement and she is having the weirdest dreams which are making her sleepwalk. She knows something is wrong with her but can't for the lift of her figure out what!
Niall has fallen for the spunky Charlotte, regretting the times he has plucked memories from her brain in order to keep his family safe and her on this side of sanity! She did not react well when she inadvertently saw his brother mid-change and its been a strain on her psyche since.
But where there are MacGregors there is trouble, strife, comedy and passion. Niall is a very deep river, overcome with his need to protect his family. Charlotte is lost in her mental problems and when she gets a jolt of power from a certain luck god, she starts to recall all the foggy memories that she had lost.
Uncle Raibeart is a scene stealer as usual and I love this madcap family to bits. Is it because they are fellow Scots? is it because they are clearly nutty, long lived, warlocks who are trying to save the world? probably a bit f both. Whilst they are kind of comedy Scots wearing kilts etc, I will forgive them because they are from a long time ago and Highlanders to boot LOL.
I loved the story of the wraith and can see why this caused Niall to become overprotective of his family. Great story!!!
Charlotte thinks she is going crazy. She has hours of missing time and seizures. And lets not forget about the ghosts she can see and talk to! She doesn’t know it’s from when Niall MacGregor erased her memories of when she was abducted by evil witches. They erased her memories to save her sanity, or at least that’s what they are telling themselves.
Niall is wracked with guilt over what he had to do to protect her and his family. He is tired of being the only MacGregor who gets sent to handle all the families problems and any other supernatural issues that pop up. But he thinks of it as his penance for his one mistake hundreds of years ago. He wiped Helena’s memories and it caused her to go insane so they “contained “ her in a statue that they take with them whenever they move.
Things seem under control, somewhat, until Helena’s ghost escapes and takes over Charlottes body in order to break her stature and free herself. Charlotte regains her memories, but instead of freaking out, she is glad to find out she is not crazy. She’s a little pissed at a few people though! When Niall is assigned to protecting Charlotte, things really heat up!
Another great book as the next MacGregor son succumbs to love!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I think so far in this series this is my favourite. I have been waiting for Niall’s story from book 1 and I have to say it was wonderful. Niall is a Werewolf Warlock and seems to think he is not due a HEA.
The story starts when Niall arrives back home and goes through his perspective of what was happening near the end of the last story with his sister Malina and how Charlotte got involved.
If you have read the earlier books in the series, you’ll know that Niall had to erase all Charlotte’s memories due to what she had seen but now her memories are coming back and she seems to have taken on board some of his memories.
Enjoy this amazing, exciting but mad story which has lots going on and keeps you glued to each page wishing it would never end but wanting to see what happens to Niall and his one true love.
Charlotte is stronger than she looks and after everything that has happened to her, it’s great to see her natural personality and strength showing through. Uncle Railbeart is outstanding and I love the way the family get involved and how the storyline brings in some of the amazing characters, friendships and loves from the previous books in the series.
I know I’m repeating myself but I cannot tell you or express how good this really series is.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Spirits and Spells is about Charlotte Carver. Since the first book, Charlotte's memory has been taken by Niall MacGregor to protect the MacGregor family. Ever since that confrontation, Charlotte has been losing time, hallucinating, seeing ghosts, and hearing voices in her heads. She knows that the town people calls her Crazy Charlotte and that she has been talking to herself.
Niall took away Charlotte's memory when she was used as a vessel by the supernatural to drain Ian's magical power. For a human to absorb so much power could have ramification. The best thing he could do was removed Charlotte's memory and to have his family and him to watch over her.
When Dar has brushed against Charlotte, Charlotte was remembering things that she couldn't understand and was putting the pieces together since that night.
Charlotte and Niall's story does lack the humor from the prior books in the series. This story was a bit serious. Charlotte knew that somehow that Niall and his family is behind what has happened to her. Niall is grumpy and riddled with guilt of removing Charlotte's memory of that night. As the saying goes, "No good intentions go unpunished."
When a wraith decided to use Charlotte to further her revenge against the MacGregor family, Charlotte would have to chose who she can trust.
I just love, love the narrator, Michael Ferraiuolo's Scottish accent for the MacGregor clan. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
“I would take it all back if I could. I would rewind time.”
I couldn't put this book down. Even at 4am on a work day I just had to finish this amazing story.
Charlotte Carver lives in small town Wisconsin. For her, life is simple and maybe even a little boring, until she starts having nightmares, seizures and memory loss.
There was something she needed to remember. Why couldn’t she remember?
Niall MacGregar is the youngest of the MacGregor warlocks. His role as a hunter had him dealing with all the things no one else wanted or were able to. He was always protecting he family. Because of this his is asked to watch over Charlotte.
“Don’t ask this of me,” he whispered, dropping the phone away from his mouth.
I loved being emerged into the magic, shifters, a crazy wraith, memory loss, love, a wacky uncle and Scottish accents. Even thought this is part of a series I was able to read this story and not think I was missing anything. Though I will definitely be reading the first 4 books now. I cant wait to read more from Michelle M. Pillow.
Plot: 5 Ending: 5 Character Development: 5 Heat: 3.5
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
Crazy Charlotte has time missing, hallucinations, and hears voices in her head, on top of being able to see ghosts. Ever since those MacGregors moved in, things have not been healthy for her. She's fed up with how Niall is taking care of the apartment building, and she goes to complain, and comes in on a family dispute. Dar brushes by Charlotte, recognizes her need, and gives her some good luck. Her memories start coming back. Niall has been in love with Charlotte since the first time he took away her memories. She grows to trust him, and he learns he's lovable as he is.
Wonderful character development! Niall didn't get much attention in the previous books, coming across gruff and terse. Charlotte regained some of her sass and snark, and we got some good laughs in this book, which is important to me because that's the fun of these MacGregor books. We also got a lot more interaction with Eric and Lydia, Iain and Jane, but not a lot with Malina and Dar, and no sight of Fergus and Donna.
Stand alone HEA, but better if you've read the previous books.
Contains sex scenes, swear words, and violence (hitting, wraith attack that causes injuries, poisoning).
This is a wonderful addition to the series, thoroughly enjoyed the book Returning to the MacGregor clan it was impossible not to enjoy the continuation to the series, the plot and the characters were so wonderfully written and I loved every single moment of this story. Niall is a loyal and diligent member of the family and he takes the protection of the other family members as his priority. Charlotte is shocked at the capers of the Kilted and madcap antics of this large and loyal family which wis filled with drama, loyalty and love and also with a great deal of laughter as you read the antics of the various members of the clan. I guarantee that you will love this wonderful read and like myself will look forward to future reads in this series. Read this simply amazing addition to the series I assure you that once started it will be impossible to put the book down.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Good series. This one has less humor although the ever clothesless uncle is still running around. The prankster brothers and a whole slew of spirits and supernatural beings are causing trouble. Naill is the serious one. He has the safety of the clan on his shoulders. He also has a history that weighs heavy on him. Feeling protective of Charlotte and her problems he is torn. He also has other feelings, including that he is not going to find happiness like his brothers. The history and revelations will fill in many of the blanks for series readers but never fear, it stands alone if this is your first story in the series. You'll get to see the various forms of magick the family display as well as the enemies they fight. Charlotte is stronger than they think. She's a woman of sass, strength, and has the hots for one certain brother. Will he admit his feelings? Will the protection turn dangerous? Great plot, wonderful characters and story you won't forget. I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.
I found this book discounted via Bookbub; this is my honest review. -I don't agree with the way the MacGregors did it - erasing her memories - but I think they did what they considered was best at the time and I have to go with it. -That said, there are so many mistakes and repeats it got old fast. Same with wrong words like using an adjective instead of a noun (awesome vs. awesomeness) or having the wrong name/noun (he/she or Euann/Ian). There is also no need to repeatedly write magickally/magically all the time - we know if he lifts his hand and fire appears it's magic. -I felt like Helena's story was a bit over the top. -Great/Funny saying about Annabelle: "a hippie without the patchouli" -I loved how Niall and Charlotte became a couple and I thought the mother was really funny with the doves and loin and whatever else she conceived for the perfect wedding. -I loved how Charlotte was able to go into Niall's past in her dreams; it wasn't explained but maybe it's because they exchanged memories or found their true love?
Niall MacGregor is an enforcer, rushing off to handle any magical or supernatural crisis without a thought for his own safety. Charlotte thinks she is going insane, she has lost time and memories and on top of that she finds herself soaking wet after pipes leak from the above apartment and those annoying MacGregors, especially that Niall, who is her landlord, or as she calls him her slumlord. When she goes to confront him, she starts to have hallucinations that can’t possibly be real, but feel as if they are. Niall hated to take Charlotte’s memories but it was to save her and keep her sane and to protect his family. As her memories start to come back, she is furious at Niall and her best friend Lydia for lying to her, but slowly she begins to understand what happened and sees it in another light. This is full of excitement, supernatural mischief and a devoted family even if they are a bit whacky! Such a fun read with elements of Sabrina the teenage witch, but with adults. I voluntarily received and reviewed an ARC copy of the book.
Wow what a ride! Lots of fun, crazy times, a few sad times, and a lot of unfulfilled love! Niall holds a secret love for Charlotte but the way he's been erasing her memories hoping she'll be OK is getting to him. Charlotte thinks she's going crazy because she thinks she's blacking out and forgetting stuff, turns out so not the case! Weird twist of fate she starts remembering stuff and once she finds out some of what's going on she's actually OK with the whole shebang and would have been from the start, if they'd only told her the truth! Things fairly smoothly once she starts remembering and that is when she realizes that she does like Niall and he very much likes her. A few adventures together and wham she falls once she realizes why he does what he does and she accidentally relives a few of his memories. She is more than she seems. Lots of crazy antics by the family. Extremely entertaining read!! Enjoy the ride!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Charlotte Carver is losing her mind. She's seeing things and hearing things and it all started with the MacGregors moving to town! Werewolf Niall MacGregor is an enforcer. While he's had to do things he didn't like in the past, messing with Charlotte Carver's memory is probably the worst.
We met Niall in a previous book when he was tasked with removing Charlotte's memory. He did it because he believed it was the right thing to do but now guilt is bothering him. Charlotte didn't have any trouble until the MacGregors came to town and now Niall is her new landlord. She can't get away from them but now enough is enough. I loved Charlotte. She wasn't going to let something like "crazy" stop her. Niall turns out to be more than she expected.
Not as many romps as other MacGregor books but still fun with very likable character that the reader knows are right for each other. I previously read the books out of order, but recently re-read them in order and found that I enjoyed them more, even though this could work as a standalone.
We are back with another dive into the crazy and wonderful world of the Warlocks MacGregor. This was a great story full of crazy antics of the MacGregor family trying to keep mere mortals from remembering any magical situation they somehow find themselves in the middle of. Niall has to remove some of Charlotte's memories because she might lose her mind with what she has witnessed. He is always protecting the family and taking care of situations all over the world, whether it's with gremlins, fairies or other supernaturals. He doesn't dare think of himself but Charlotte has a hold of his heart and will he be able to walk away from this beautiful, feisty woman who he can't get off of his mind? He always thinks he has to do everything himself but maybe it's time he lets others in. The past comes back to threaten the family and together they must try to end this problem once and for all. Great series! Only thing I would like better is having dual narrators for the male and female parts.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Crazy Charlotte and serious Niall are an amazing set of contrasts. We have been with Charlotte from the beginning when she was sucked in to the MacGregor world. She has had her mind wiped a few times and knows she is missing something but cannot seem to put her finger on it. Niall does his duty to his family and as such has a mantle of responsibility thrust upon him. He was the one to wipe Charlotte's memories and feels responsible for her. Little does she know or does his family know that he loves her. Unfortunately, this is not the start of their problems....a person from the MacGregor past has come back to haunt them and Charlotte is in danger.
I absolutely love the MacGregor family and wish I had one for myself. Michelle has done an amazing job with this family and the town. She does a great job of creating individualized stories for each. I would recommend reading them in order to get the most out of each story.
Yea! The Macgregors are back in all their eccentric glory. Spirits and Spells is a delightful read. Reading Niall and Charlotte's story is one that I've been looking forward to reading for quite some time. Charlotte has had a difficult time since the Macgregors moved into town. Nightmares, missing time, migraines, seizures and fears of insanity have plagued Charlotte ever since Niall erased her memory of the magical events that Charlotte witnessed. But now she's remembering. Will Niall's return help or hinder Charlotte's recovery? Will Charlotte and Niall succumb to their feelings for each other?
Michelle Pillow has created a cast of characters that I love. They are wacky and entertaining. The siblings are gorgeous, sexy and powerful. But above all, this family loves and protects each other. I recommend this series. I am really looking forward to reading the next Warlocks Macgregor book.
Reading the books in order or even out of order makes this series a delight. Each story contains its own personality that defines the characters it reflects. Niall MacGregor is the youngest son but the one with the serious duty of family protection and hunter. Man of few words and the stereotypical bad boy image gets Niall the babysitting task of 'Crazy Charlotte' the best friend of Lydia. As these two encounter various creatures, many truths are revealed. As with each story, enough history from previous books highlight without spoiling the original book. That is wonderful. You can still read the previous books and not feel it is a waste of time or money. This is significant when reading a series that doesn't require chronological reading order. Granted reading a series in order clarifies events but this series briefly touches but doesn't demand reading order and that is refreshing. And spunky sassy Charlotte gets her happy ending.
Charlotte Carver feels like she is losing her mind. She is missing memories, having hallucinations, is hearing things she can’t explain, and the nightmares are making her life miserable. With the MacGregors moving in, it has been worse than ever. And her landlord, Niall, is not doing a good job keeping the apartment in repair. She has a leak and when her apartment floods, she has had all she can take and heads over to complain. Dar, a luck demon, brushes past Charlotte and gives her some good luck, in turn causing her memories to begin coming back! Uh-oh.
Can Charlotte and Niall finally get to talk things through? He has felt so guilty since he had to take her memories. Will she see that she can actually trust him now? Can she trust that her feelings for Niall are real and not brought about by magic or illusion? Maybe Dar gave her much more luck than just returning memories?
