Overpopulation is a constant buzzword in our society. If only the world knew it could get much worse. Following the recent nuclear disaster, the Southwest has become uninhabitable for extended lengths of time. Millions were forced to abandon their homes, flooding an already overburdened society.
With space dwindling and chaos on the rise, some convicts are no longer afforded space in the prison system; instead, they face the tragic fate of euthanasia. However, under Article 2085, the Southwest fallout zone has been reborn as the Civil Conquest Arena. Now, prisoners have the opportunity to fight to the death for their freedom and reassimilate into society.
Level 20 is a first-person account of an 18-year-old named Kyle Anderson who unintentionally broke the law, placing him in the Arena, where he will fight to the death with other criminals until he gains enough XP for the chance to reassimilate into society.

This book is so well written.
The plot is captivating and really explores the many different sides of humanity. It also delves into morality.
The characters are so well written as well. The journey they go through has you feeling every emotion and everything each character goes through.
The way Joel writes this book makes you feel like you are right next to them in the thick of everything.
