Sugar's Cookies

Rate this book
Sugar’s done with big-city life and the even bigger . . . personalities that come with it. She’s craving something smaller. So, she packs up for a quaint little town, dreaming of opening a bakery—even though her baking skills are more flop than flourish. After a series of burnt disasters, she stumbles upon her parents’ old cookie recipe and realizes that maybe she has a shot of being successful.

Enter Willie, the local electrician and proud owner of a more down-to-earth . . . perspective. When he gets called in to set up her Wi-Fi, he’s not thrilled about yet another “city slicker” moving into his town. But her love of little things starts to win him over, and together they discover that the best things truly come in smaller packages.

And what goes best with cookies? Milk.

This cringey, cheeky, and downright hilarious novella is best enjoyed with zero seriousness and an appetite for laughs!

Honestly loved how fun, cringey, and hilarious this novella was! It had the *perfect* balance of all three & deserves a big 'ol CHEF'S KISS 👩🏻‍🍳🤌🏼💋 This was my first book by Vee Taylor & I had the best time! I know this is incredibly different than her other books but I genuinely enjoyed the writing style, not just the unhinged antics. Definitely recommend, especially if you're looking for a short lil read to hit your goal for the year.

The cringiest, but most delectable novella EVER. Had me laughing out loud, so much so I woke my hubby up - sorry dude.

Vee Taylor doesn’t miss even when it’s a lightweight, spicy novella.

This was a fun small-town romance novella with some very unique kinks.

A disclaimer: I knew this was going to be full of puns and be light-hearted. But to be honest, it just wasn’t good. It wasn’t even just puns; it was over dramatic euphemisms every other sentence. For me it entirely took away from the entire book and diminished the spice to something I wish I could skip.

The spice was okay, it was nothing remarkable. For this novella being marketed with a lactation kink it was a shame that it only occurred at the last 10% of the book. If I had known that before reading it the chances, are I most likely would have not picked it up.

I liked the characters even with the obnoxious puns and euphemisms. They were sweet individually and together it was tooth-achingly adorable. I only wish that there was more of a realistic bakery aspect put into the plot.

This was a spicy, Hallmark-y novella about a woman named Sugar who is tired of the big city life (including the dicks that go with it) and moves to a small town to open a bakery with, wait for it, zero baking experience. Here she meets Willie and his Weedle, (yep. She said it.) the local electrician who has a tough time because of his "unfortunate" anatomy that is just what Sugar has been searching for. Cringe? Haha, oh yeah. Spicy? Yep. Did it make me laugh? Sure did. I will never look at baked goods the same way again. I've also gained a few dozen more puns for the male and female sex organs. Lol.

**Thank you to the author for an advanced copy for review. All opinions are my own.**

Oh my gosh!
This was such a fun little quick read which I devoured over the space of a day!

Having read some of Vee's more angsty novels, I couldn't resist grabbing this and seeing where it would take us.

Right from the start - and I'm talking the author note and dedication, I was laughing so much! And this didn't let up for the whole book.
It was so good!

Sugar decides to quit her city job and buy a bakery in a small town.
The only slight problem - she didn't know how to bake!
This set the tone for the rest of the book really and although totally unrealistic (?), I loved her drive to make this work and with the help of Willie, she learns to bake the best cookies in town!

Being a short book at under 100 pages, things needed to get going....and fast!
And we definitely saw those switches flicking from off to on in the blink of an eye - bringing about some sweet but super spicy scenes.

The storyline was cute and I loved Sugar and Willie and the development of their new relationship.
But the best thing was spotting all the different terms used for - mainly his....but hers too - bitty 'areas'.
I honestly laughed out loud for a fair amount of the book - getting strange looks around me too!

A brilliant palate cleanser packed with fun and chaos and a totally different side to this author - but I still absolutely love it!

Sugar has decided to leave city life behind and open a bakery - except she doesn't know how to bake! Willie is an electrician coming to set up her Wi-Fi and POS system, and their spark is instant! They make each other laugh, and everything is fun and easy! Then Willie tells Sugar his big secret and his nickname. And Sugar falls even harder!

I seriously giggled the entire book! I've never seen so many nicknames for both the male and female anatomy, and I'm not mad about it! Vee writes a lot of heavy stuff, and while that heavy stuff is SO good, it was fun to take the edge off and read something lighter of hers! She set out to write a cringey novella to make people laugh, and she 100% accomplished her mission! There were so many baking and electrical puns, and I just loved how it brought Sugar and Willie closer together. They were definitely made for each other! And when spending time with him inspires her recipes, I just found that so sweet!

If you need a good laugh with absolutely nothing serious about it, check this one out! As long as you go in with an open mind, you won't regret it!

Cringey as f*ck, hilariously unhinged, and yet somehow… oddly sweet? I am speechless. Mostly because I would just laugh like a maniac randomly and my husband kept giving me that look - you know, the one that says, “Are you okay?”

From Sugar casually dropping her past “bombs” like it’s no big deal to Willy and his wee trauma from his first time (poor guy), these two are clearly a BATCH made in heaven. The puns were flying so fast I couldn’t keep up, and I found myself wondering when the true 🥛 k!nk would make its debut. Spoiler: IT DID. Safe to say Willy won’t be worrying about a Vitamin D deficiency anytime soon. 💀😂

Also, can we talk about how there are apparently THAT many creative ways to describe certain body parts?! I didn’t even know! 🤣

Don’t go into this expecting Isles or Marchetti Vee - this is a completely different side of her, taking a wild and unapologetic detour into chaos. And honestly? I loved every second of it.

🍪 Sugar’s Cookies 🍪

This novella was hilariously cringe and fun, perfect if you want a quick and easy read.

Sugar is new to town and opening her own bakery, even though she can’t bake, when she meets electrician Willie they hit it off straight away and what unfolds is extremely fast paced.

I have to add, even though I knew this was written to almost sort of mock the smalltown romance books, the over use of puns and cringe names for things got a bit tedious.

Tropes
- puns
- humor romance
- short novella

📖 My Thoughts
This short novella is a perfect palate cleanser after reading Vee's heavier reads. The humor in this book is full of puns and double meaning. I found the characters endearing in their own insecurities. I love that they are not perfect and human. Highly recommend you read this if you want a sweet creamy morsel.

Don't let the size of this novella fool you! Sugar's Cookies may be small but its packed full of spice, humor and silly puns.

Vee Taylor took a cute holiday romance and turned it into an insta-lust/ love romance between our not-so-great baker Sugar and the local electrician Willie. The amount of puns these two had together should not have worked but it did, and I was LMAO!

This novella is perfect for someone who wants a mostly smut and little plot story. I also feel like this book would have fit PERFECTLY with the DNF Challenge series that came out earlier this year. It has all the cringeworthy moments that makes you question why you are still reading this and why are you enjoying it!

Need more, please! This was shockingly great. Bought this and met Vee at a local author event at a brewery. The lactation kink was interesting, in a good way! Also, this is the first ever book I've read where the MMC doesn't have a gigantic ween, and honestly, I love that. When authors write how massive the MMC is, I'm over here thinking, 'Oh hell, nah.' Authors go big or go home, and that's not realistic in the slightest. So, Willie's lil wee definitely added to this lil novella! Please write more! I would read it! Oooh, what about another novella outlining Tammie and a kink she has!? I'd read it.

Thank you for this funny, spicy, kink-tastic novella! It was a much needed reading pick me up!

Sugar’s Cookies Review

This books is adorable, cringey.. yeah but adorable! I couldnt help but smile while awkwardly looking at my boyfriend next to me on the couch because he kept daying i was making funny sounds while reading! I mean yeah just wait until you read it so you can understand all the giggles, scoffing and low voice comments of “oh goodness no she (the author) really went there” lol ! This book starts of really fast like chapter 2 fast so you know it was fast paced throughout but it was super fun and lighthearted to read! So if you are in need of a light hearted book in between all of the unhinged dark romance then this is a perfect palette cleanser!

Ps… Tammy the best friend is the kind of friend we all need in our lives!

Title: Sugar’s Cookies
Author: Vee Taylor
Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Favorite Quote: “There’s more to life than finding the perfect person, and you’re allowed to take a step back, you’re allowed to be imperfect, and you’re allowed to have a reset when things don’t work out.”

I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much or kicked my feet as much as I did when reading this book. I ate this story up; it was the perfect mix of spicy and cringe. Sugar’s Cookies follows the story of Sugar who has decided to move to a small town and open up a bakery. She is trying to teach herself how to bake and follow in her parent’s footsteps but she is slightly off to a rough start at first. With the help of the local electrician, Willie, Sugar is able to nail down exactly what she will be selling at the bakery, which as you’ve might have guessed it’s sugar cookies. The chemistry between Sugar and Willie is truly something; the banter back and forth and innuendos had me straight up cackling. This book has really made me look at baking in a whole different light. Sugar’s Cookies easily was one of my favorite reads of this year and I definitely won’t stop talking about it any time soon. Thank you @veetaylorauthor for the opportunity to read and happy release day!

I can’t even handle how much i laughed 😂
I’ve read all of Vee’s books. I thought I had a grasp of her writing style, then she throws this at us out of left field.
It’s amazing, it’s hilarious, it’s cringy.
It’s literally perfect 😂
I loved this book so much.
I laughed on almost every single page, I ended up basically reading my husband the whole book as I kept laughing I had to read what I was laughing at.
It was amazing.
Everyone should read this book.
Also, it’s a great palette cleanser between her other books where she rips your heart out 😂 but like, in a good way. Lol.

“If you’re my dessert, then I’m going to eat it at the table like the good boy I am.”

This book is ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous, and I loved every minute of it!

I was laughing so hard through the whole thing that I had to take breaks to catch my breath. The puns are absolutely hilarious, and all the 🍆 names were definitely unique and had me lmao.

But behind all the jokes and cringy puns, Vee brings the message that everyone deserves to be loved and appreciated no matter their size, shape, and preferences.

This cringy novella was everything I didn’t know I needed between books.
Let me give you a few examples of this wild ride:

“Add your banana to the batter, Willie, and we might just whip up my signature recipe.”

“I’m going to frost your biscuit now. The final step,” he groaned proudly. “I want a cream pie, Willie. Cover my sweet treat with your hot, wet icing,” I purred.

And my absolutely favorite:

sliding down to the bushy forest beneath!!!!
I have no idea why this had me laughing so freaking hard but here we are.

If you are needing something between books that is easy and quick to read this is it.

Sugar's Cookies by Vee Taylor

I'm going to start by saying that this is a very cringy novella that will have you chuckling and giggling because of the puns that are used.

Sugar is moving to get a new start because she is tired of the life she is living. She wants to open a bakery, but the thing is everytime she bakes things go wrong.

Willie has been living in the town all his life. Ever since dating his girlfriend in high school and she made up the rumor wee Willie, he hasn't dated since. When he meets Sugar while going to hook up the wifi something changes.

A SPARK OF CREATIVITY

Vee Taylor has written something completely different to what I have read from her in the past, and it is so good. It is full of cringey, gooey goodness that was the spicey spark I needed for Christmas. The two main characters are nothing you ever read in today's books, so the uniqueness in this little novella is original and perfect, just like the best cookie you've ever eaten. The chemistry and connection is heartfelt and in such a short story, Vee has packed quite a lot in. Loved this story.

Friends to lovers
Small town romance

This was such a cute novella. Sugars story went with this small town. You always find what you need when you start over. Sugar just needed to start over somewhere else to find herself and see what she was missing. Meeting Willie helped her be a better version of herself and also brought out the best of him. They compliment each other so well. Cookies go so well with milk, so go read Sugars story to find out how it all came together for her.

This book was so hilarious I cannot stop laughing thinking about it!

Sugar and Willie have my heart 😂😂😂

It was the funniest punniest holiday novella and it was perfect!

Sugar moves to Rantucky open up her bakery and she meets Willie who is a tech guy going to help with setting up her wifi!

They hit it off instantly and his wee Willie was perfect for her ☠️

The spice was hilarious lol never thought I would be saying that about a spicy book 😂

Look it may not be for everyone but I loved it!

Sugar is new to town and looking to live up to her name and open a bakery but she doesn’t know how to bake. The electrician comes to set up her internet and he gives her some inspiration and it turns out they’re both exactly what the other has been looking for.

Top quality cringe novella. All the new names and puns were nonstop entertainment although I don’t think I ever want to hear about a spatula used in that particular way again. If you’re looking for a quick baking or electrical pun filled romance this is definitely it.

Yessss this novella is a very cringey pun filled story! To the point of being sickly sweet. While this story is not normally my cup of tea it’s a good palette cleanser. This story follows Sugar and Willie - Sugar is a big city gal looking to get away from the big city life and big city boys with their big city giant anacondas 🤣
She meets Willie and all of his tiny treasures when he comes to rewire her WiFi and set up her bakery POS.
The banter is cute, the “tiny tim” is all Sugar needs.

Listen... is this novella super cringy? Absolutely. Did I also laugh my ass off? You bet I did.

This novella is written as if someone told Vee "You can't use THAT in a book!" And she was like "OK BET!" And doubled down by adding every single horrible name for genitalia she could find. I fucking loved it. 😂

This was nonstop fun from beginning to end. It's dirty. It's cringy. It's hilarious. I absolutely loved it.

This book was full of bakery and techy puns, keeps you laughing the whole way through. It was a quick, easy read, story flowed well. I loved the development between Sugar and Willie and how they helped each other get through past events and move forward. The chemistry between the two and descriptions were written well. If you are looking for a short novella that will keep you laughing with a cute couple, then this is a must read for you.

Wow, this novella is probably the shortest & quickest book i’ve ever read. And 100%, without a doubt, one of the funniest. Vee has a knack for keeping things simple and funny, but also giving it the spice that every book needs.

I had plenty of laughs during Sugar’s cookies. And the wording just kept making me LAUGH. It’s short, simple, spicy, AND sweet. Do me a favor and take you a bite of this sweet treat. Tehe, i’m trying to be like Vee 😂💀

I absolutely love unhinged and unfiltered books, so when Vee announced she was writing a hinged, cringy novella, I said, "Sign me the f*ck up!!" This novella was utter chaos and perfection. Be prepared to be giggling up a storm. I swear I started crying from laughing so hard.

Sugar and Willie are so interesting with not only their ridiculous backstories but also with their baking and tech lingo. Which definitely are not innuendos for other things, wink wink. There are also some of the most creative names for the male anatomy that I have ever seen. Some of my favorites were: ham candles, ankle spanker, and pressure washer.

This book is exactly as stated on the cover “A hilariously cringy novella”, so be prepared for a wild ride.

You will enjoy this book if you like the following:
- Lots of puns
- Workplace romance
- Lactation kink
- Unhinged reads

Thank you, Vee Taylor, for the gifted copy.
