I was never supposed to find love. Girls like me don’t find happiness, remember? We will never feel wanted. We will never know love. We will never be free. We are expected to settle for what we are given, or risk dying alone. When not one… not two… but three incredible men want me, I choose to go against the grain and fight for what I want.

This is a DARK romance with HEAVY triggers. Reader's discretion is HIGHLY advised.

I started and I finished 🥳 within a few hours I had devoured this book. Our FMC Kaylee has not had the best life {understatement } has to offer but it got a lot worse before it started to get better with the help of her best friend, Daria, her boss Gideon and his friend Reese and Daria’s b/f Hayden thus a polyamorous relationship develops.

There is DV, non con, child sexual assault, 🍇, BD5M elements not heavy, I suppose a good idea would be to read all the triggers to ensure you don’t suffer from them.

For me this book was a great read, the dynamics of the five were amazing. There were a few errors that a proofread (seems I’m reading a lot like that lately ☹️) would have picked up but it didn’t detract from the story for me.

It's definitely a dark story, but the themes of finding the strength to overcome our pasts and finding real love made me fall in love with this story. I definitely recommend this one, but please mind the triggers. The beginning especially is heartbreaking and makes the ending so very satisfying.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Emily does it again and I'm a pile of goo and tears 😭😭😭 the amount of strength Kaylee had to have to leave and open herself up to others. I love her. She thought she was so weak and unlovable but she's not! I cried so bad when she was telling Daria and the guys her story. Everything she suffered and lost. Her dad, not her piece of shit bio dad, but her and Daria's dad made me cry so much with how supportive and loving he was. That is what a true dad is. Not a r*pist her threatens his child and kills his other one. And Kaylee's bio mom? She's just a big piece of crap too. Made me so angry what she spewed! People like her are the reason people like Kaylee and me leave the church. So proud of Kaylee and Daria. They deserve happiness and deserve to have it together.

I don't think this book could get much darker, so make sure you're confident that you're in the proper headspace before starting this book.

The journey that Kaylee goes through regarding her marriage and the behaviour exhibited towards her afterward is tragically very similar to what I experienced during my marriage and divorce. The stalking, threats, and location tracking are all too real.

Seeing the crew settle into life as a polycule was far more comforting and touching than I expected it to be. They all love each other in their own ways, and seeing how they navigate this new dynamic had me smiling and blushing the whole way through.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed to see a sequel or a spin off 🙏

This book was a good one! Might even be a new favorite for me by Emily Klepp.

In the beginning, it's sad to read about the dark & traumatic life of Kaylee. To read and feel the trauma of Kaylee's view of herself and the way she is treated in her marriage is heartbreaking.

The main characters in the story are strong, some both physically as well as emotionally. The change in Kaylee throughout the story is beautiful.

Take care & be sure to read the TW's, there are quite a few as always.

♡ Please please check your triggers ♡

This is my first ARC review and I contemplated if I should write Emily to request a different ARC, because any abuse towards a female character's brother and/or the loss of a female character's brother is one of my only triggers. I especially thought it would be impossible to get through with it being my brother's birthday, but Emily was able to portray things that I struggle with, such as the guilt of feeling responsible and the constant need for reassurance (without blaming someone that was also a victim), and it was such a therapeutic experience for me to see Kaylee's healing journey. Although the loss of her brother wasn't the main focus, I couldn't help but wonder if Nate ever would have been a factor if Kaylee still had her protector with her and it played a big role in why this resonated with me on such a deeper level.

Now on to the 🌶: This had ALL my favorites and then some. My eyes have officially been opened to tropes that I had NO idea I would enjoy (Hello, Poly! 🤌🏼) and I would have swore I wasn't a fan of Brother's friend, but sheesh! 😍

With all that being said, I finished it in one setting, which led to my only real complaint— I wish it was longer. This is my official request to make a duet to see if we can get the guys to explore a little, because I would be absolutely giddy to see Hayden get chased through the woods by Gideon or Reese. Here's to wishful thinking 🥰

Thank you for writing trauma in such a respectful way that demonstrates the roller-coaster of emotions one must overcome in order to go from victim to survivor and reminding them they are still worthy of love no matter how broken they think they are.

Needs Some Serious Work

This book tackles heavy themes like trauma recovery and polyamory, but the execution just isn’t there. The author clearly has ideas about complex relationships and healing, but she needed way more research before diving into topics like legal procedures, medical protocols, and realistic trauma responses.

The biggest problem is the pacing with everything happens way too fast without proper buildup or believable character development. Characters go from one emotional extreme to another without any transition, and I got a few serious whiplashes. One minute someone’s having a breakdown, the next they’re cracking jokes like nothing happened.

The dialogue often feels like info dump and a lot of times sound like talking to a therapist. The characters either don’t have distinct voices (the male cast) or a one dimensional archetype with a role (Daria). People don’t talk in paragraphs and essays but multiple characters do that when articulating their feelings. Plus, there are some serious research gaps with legal stuff, medical procedures, basic adult logistics that just don’t add up when you think about them for two seconds.

This is supposed to be a polyamorous relationship, but it reads more like a reverse harem with Kaylee being the center of attention, taking in men, including her best friend’s beau. The group scenes primarily serve Kaylee’s journey, making it all about Kaylee, Kaylee, and Kaylee. It becomes jarring when, in a traumatic scene, despite Daria suffering alongside Kaylee, Kaylee is the one who receives comforting from the polycule (and Daria also comforts her, of course).

The author has potential and clearly wants to explore meaningful themes, but this needed significant developmental editing to fix the pacing issues and create smoother transitions between scenes.

Look the real red flag here is the amount of searching I had to go to find the list of trigger warnings before starting this book.

The link provided takes you to the author's etsy thing. The. Have to find her books in a drop down & scroll & scroll. This is bs.

To those readers that know of Author Emily Klepp and her dark romance genre you will understand how brilliant a read this story was, filled with the usual tensions, drama, emotional pull and so much more... oh and triggers galore. But to those that have not ventured down into her dark world of romance where life can be challenging, disruptive and almost pure evil you will find yourself challenged in how romance for some can be so intoxicating to simply wonder how it could be so good. Simply put these are not the typical 'vanilla' romance but stories that truly evoke a tug-of-war within ones' own way of thinking and beliefs. They can be challenging emotionally, especially when there is a degree of truth behind her stories in respect to sexual assault. I am in no way glorifying the subject but when you learn of the Author's personal connections to the matter it makes sense of why there is this genre/trope of story to read.
I found this another truly emotionally gauging read and yes, to date, I have now read quite a number of her stories and enjoyed every one of them. Possibly what this might say about me enjoying this dark romance is not the question but the comprehension that survivors of this type of evil need and should be heard by the wider community to help society understand life is not always rosy red and happily ever after. I have come to believe the audience of this particular Author's works are part of the healing process and hopefully society on a whole for acknowledging the strength and resiliency of such survivors.
An incredibly well created plot involving great characters and scenarios that truly make your toes curl but definitely one needs to check the trigger listing to ensure safe passage through the story. Possibly one of my favourite tropes is the whole concept of being loved not by one but by several and certainly the leading female gets her reward by finding true love x3.
For me it was simply one of those books that when I stared I didn't have a hope in putting it down to continue with living my daily life, needing to see just how everything was going to turn out.

Never Say Never 💕

Rating: 🖤🖤🖤🖤
Characters: 🖤🖤🖤🖤
Plot: 🖤🖤🖤🖤
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

When I started this book, I was not entirely sure what to expect. It went off with a bang, that is for sure. They immediately went into the deep end, which was an absolute joy to read. I am glad I picked up this ARC to try out!

Never Say Never is a Dark BDSM Romance, with a reversed harem. This was a very good mix, because I personally think that Polyamory goes really well with BDSM-themes. There was a really good balance between the characters, with each of them having their own personality traits.

Emily has a very easy writing style which is a nice fast pace. If you've read more of my reviews, then you probably know how much I enjoy fast paced books! I have a squirrel brain and slow burns tend to bore me quite fast. So when there is a lot happening in a rapid speed, my brain is thoroughly entertained. That being said, it shouldn't be too fast paced either. Emily Klepp managed to find a balance with this that worked really well! There were very few times that things happened a little too fast. So I would definitely say that this book is very well paced.

The book deals with some incredibly dark themes. It definitely is one of those books where you have to take the trigger list serious. But again, I say that a lot when reviewing books. What can I say? This girl simply loves the dark and nitty gritty of things. The books that I read definitely reflect that.

You could definitely notice that Emily has done her research on the BDSM scene. Some things were a bit on the line for me, bordering on unrealistic, but in the end this did not bother me too much. I would have liked a little bit more depth in the BDSM side of things, but that is a personal preference.

The characters were nicely fleshed out, though I would have really liked to know a bit more about them. We mainly focus on Kaylee and her journey after a failed marriage. There is a strong female friendship that I simply adore. But some of the relationship aspect came a bit unexpected. A few hints sprinkled here and there in the former scenes would have made for a smoother transition whenever a person was added to the polycule. Reading about them settle was absolutely adorable, though! It was very soothing, comforting and touching. Seeing them balance each other out was an absolute joy to read.

I am hoping on a sequel or a spin-off! I would absolutely love to see these characters develop themselves a little more, especially the Male Main Characters. We focussed so much on Kaylee that I feel that they could use a little bit more detail. Besides that, I am also just incredibly curious!

Good Bits
Well-balanced & fast pace
Emily's writing style is easy to read
BDSM research was done
The polycule is so cute
Strong female friendship
Doesn't shy away from darker themes

Bad Bits
Sometimes a little disjointed
The MMCs could use a bit more depth

This was my first book by Emily Klepp that I've read and it was so much fun! It definitely convinced me to pick up other books written by her. There just is something about her easy to read writing style that does it for me. If you're looking for a fast read, with dark themes, a reversed harem and BDSM vibes, then I recommend picking up Never Say Never by Emily Klepp!

This story was out of this world mind blowing like I completely understand why physically abused women stay in there situation then try to run. Kaylee is a stubbornly strong female who can do anything she wants to do. However, she will not be doing that all alone. She will have her circle Daria, Gideon, Reese, and Hayden. All about Reese and Hayden have been there from the start and the other two come not long after. Since the restraining order in place at least they don’t worry about him breaking it.
Since creating her circle, she has endured nothing but love and passion. The men all love her and she loves them back along with Daria. What they have created is their purpose but it’s not for everyone so don’t think you have to. They’ve all decided that they all can work from the architect building. Every night she goes to sleep with Gideon and Reese by her sides. She has a very long divorce because Nate doesn’t wanna agree and finally the judge granted her divorce under her terms.

Kaylee has a s*** marriage. She’s allowed to work but she’s not allowed friends. What her hubby doesn’t know is that she still has her bff Daria as she works at the same company. Until he see Daria leave as he picks Kaylee up.

Nate (hubby) is a piece of work and it wasn’t too hard to hate him when he refused to let Kaylee eat for 2 days. But she finally has enough when he assaults her in all the ways imaginable (check triggers).

I loved that she has Daria and Gideon her boss. But then to meet Reese and find out the history there it broke my heart a little especially when they spoke about Casey and Hope.
Then we get to add Hayden the lawyer into the mix.

I loved that Daria’s parents loved Kaylee the way that her own parents should have and not the way that they did. I hoped that Kaylee parents rot.

All in all it was a good story but it was a hard hitting one and considering I read this on the back of Claiming Mrs Claus which was a lighter but still hot. I do wish I had maybe read the lighter one second.

Wow. This is a dark read but not one of the Darkest by Emily. Kaylee is one strong, resilient, funny and amazing woman. She has been living in hell with her husband Nate for 6 years. Her best friend Daria is the only hold out still in touch with her. She has a great job with Gideon and reconnects with her brothers best friend Reese. Only to be introduced to Hayden, Darias boyfriend. We know Kaylees life is bad but we don't know HOW bad until we meet her parents. The story about her brother Casey and finally knowing all about her father and Hope Noel was heartbreaking. She is surrounding by these loving men and Daria, also Ron and "Dad". The way the relationship between all them blooms is amazing. No FF which is fine for this bunch. But HAYDEN!!! Woof, this man. Reese knowing everything, knowing her the longest, knowing Casey and Hope Noel and reconnecting was awesome. And seeing Gideon finally give in to his feelings. This was a story about help, support, guidance and healing. It was powerful and beautiful to read what Kaylee finally thought of herself in the end!!

Well to say I was not preordered for Never Say Never would without a doubt be a huge understatement. I’m not typically someone who enjoys BDSM themes love stories by any means !!!! But I am a huge lover of Emily’s writing so of course I was going to give this a whirl . And just has I always am whenever I pick up one of her books I was completely blown away !! Our heroine Kaylee has been through so much, overcoming past traumaa , finding the strength within herself to move forward as well as opening her heart to others . Let’s just say I was not prepared for how her story was going to tug at all my heartstrings to the point I felt like I was going through it all right along with her . This is definitely a very dark read and extremely emotional so please be aware of the triggers before going in . But if you’re feeling adventurous I promise reading this absolutely amazing journey is the best choice you’ll ever make .

I absolutely love Emily's writing, and this did not disappoint. It is a dark romance and make sure you read the trigger warnings before reading. Kaylee has the courage to leave her husband after a particularly bad night with him. Poorly trying to hide her injuries, her boss and best friend find out what happened and help her get her life back. She also finds her way back to an old friend who wants more than friendship. I love Kaylee's brattiness and how she keeps digging at the guy's protective nature. The dynamic that the five characters has is heartwarming with how they all support each other, even if I don't like reading other women with the main guys, it doesn't take away from the greatness of the story.

As everyone else has said, read the TW list. If you have SA in your background, understand your limits before reading. Seriously dark history in this.

Kaylee starts out in a truly, truly horrific marriage with abuse and brutal violence. She is assisted in choosing to leave it (even though she knows there are risks in doing so) and winds up in a loving (and extremely kink-filled) relationship with multiple partners. And through the book there is peril and risk.

I do have an issue with how easily Kaylee accepts swimming in the deep end of kink while recovering from absolutely intense abuse. That seems rather implausible to me.

The kink scenes and the sex scenes are quite hot. The characters are well-drawn. Basically really good stuff.

This book has a genuinely engaging story, and I found myself interested in where things were going plot-wise. The premise is strong, and the pacing is solid — I was never bored. That said, I found myself wanting more emotional texture and complexity. The characters communicate in such a clear and healthy way that it left very little room for tension, miscommunication, or emotional ambiguity. Everything felt a bit too “clean,” and while that can be refreshing in some stories, here it made the interpersonal dynamics feel a little flat or overly simplified. I think the author has a lot of potential, especially with storytelling, but I’d love to see them take more risks with messier, less spelled-out character interactions.

mental health matters

I have gone down a emily klepp rabbit hole. I love every book she writes and this is no different.

She finds solace in not 1 but 3 men.
Gideon,Reese, Hayden

This girl has suffered abuse, loss like no other and I wanted to protect her and jump through the book to hurt those that hurt her.
I absolutely love her friendship with Daria together they are little fire crackers

This book is full of trauma so again please check triggers

ARC Review:

5/5⭐️, 4/5🌶️

-Boss/Employee
-Poly
-Brothers Best Friend
-Single POV
-Touch her and 💀

I loved every single second of reading this. Kaylee is such a strong woman. With the help of Gideon, Reese, Daria and Hayden she was able to overcome some really tough things. And the 5 of them together made for some really hòt squirm worthy scenes. Emily Klepp does fantastic with anything she writes and this was no different. The chapters are the perfect length action packed with lots of detail. As always I recommend checking out the TW’s first. Your mental health matters. Otherwise I highly recommend!

“Mind Blown” This has to be one of my favorite Emily Klepp books. I was so excited to get this book and I was not disappointed. Keylee endures so much abuse and the trauma is overwhelming. Thankfully she is stronger than most and she knows it. We all hate Nate, so I will move on from him. Daria is her best friend, and enters three hawt men, What's that make? Kaylee, Daria, Gideon, Reese, and Hayden = 5 for fun! I will say Please check your triggers, I don't say that a lot but I will say that here, This is one of Emily’s darkest books to date. I love these characters - Nate, I love this storyline and I love this author.

This book is Dark Romance, so of course this book has a trigger warning list. The list is as follows: Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Murder, Attempted Murder, Murder for hire, Graphic Violence, Dubcon, body dysmorphia, fat shaming, consensual nonconsent, eating disorder, mention of self-harm history, Somnophilia, mention of loss of a sibling, mention of child sexual assault, mention of child neglect, mention of abortion/second-trimester termination. This book is a standalone.

This book has multiple point of views: Kaylee and Gideon. Kaylee ran away from her abusive husband after he almost offed her, meanwhile Gideon helped her get away and is her boss.
