Evil used to exist only in my nightmares. Until I moved to Ever Graves. A town full of secrets, curses, and death.
The darkness comes for me now in the form of three wicked deviants: Bones, Draven, and Aries.
They want to corrupt my soul and leave their filthy marks on my flesh. They are all that is unholy.
But their depravity isn’t my only torment. I’ve been plagued by a nightmare since I was a child. A monster who comes for my body and soul every time I close my eyes.
Awake or asleep… there is no escape.

Ever Dark is a standalone book in the Melancholia series. The previous books are written as standalones or duets. The characters crossover so I recommend reading the books in order for maximum enjoyment. (Wickford Hollow Duet, The Devils of Raven’s Gate duet, Nox, Absentia Mori, and then Ever Dark).
Ever Dark is a tour de force for any dark romance lover. The characters are absolutely amazing, shamelessly unrepentant, and morally grey (mostly pitch black). It delivers gothic vibes, pr1mal chase, hate f**ks, and throws in a specially equipped monster for your reading pleasure. This could be my new favorite Melancholia book and I love them all. A fantastic read.
I'm so hoping there is more to come from this universe!, I have loved each and every character from book 1 and I can't wait to see who comes next.
The twists in this book 🫢 I didn't even see It coming! I thought I knew how ever dark was going to end but I never thought for one minute there would be THAT twist 😂 @authormviolet please tell me there's more to come? 👀
Dray, bones and Aries are not your typical MMC, they are dark, twisted and sinfully gorgeous. These men will have you questioning a few things about yourself in the process and ultimately you'll fall for them anyways 😂 Their energy is like a live wire and if you're on the wrong end of that wire.. well let's just say things don't end well 🫣
Draven is the lead man, he commands control, respect and he's feared by all who knows him, his darkness lies just under the surface waiting to be let out at any moment and when Mia refuses to submit his limits are tested more than ever before.
Bones is the bad boy of the trio, any opportunity he gets to swing his fists and make someone bleed he takes it. Inflicting pain keeps him from falling into his guilt, keeps him grounded and in the present but he likes to test his own limits. Living recklessly gives him a thrill, makes him feel until he meets Mia 👀 she's the light he's been waiting for and didn't even know it.
Aries the greek god 😂 his sinful looks and charm could melt any woman he sets his eyes on and he uses his charms to his full advantage. His tastes are more twisted than the other two and he delights in them frequently 🫢 he wants revenge more than anything and will stop at nothing until he sees it through or so he thought.. He takes one look at Mia and he's fucked, her dual coloured eyes captivate him from their first meet and the temptation is too sweet to ignore.
Mia our FMC, she's not had an easy life at all. No family, no friends. She survived because she had to until she inherited her grandmother's estate but it came with a few other things too. Mia didn't know what she was walking into but she wasn't afraid, after all she knew what real nightmares looked like 🫣🤫
Ever Dark was dark and spicy! Such an amazing read.
I loved Mia. She was feisty and confident. She stood up for herself every single time they came for her. Even if she was drawn to them sexually, I mean, who wouldn't 😂 the guys were so great. Each of them had a special quality, they wanted to break her, but really couldn't. They were so gone for her. I loved it. 😍
Nox!! 🫠🫠🥵 I don't want to give anything away, if you like dark romance, whychoose and alphaholes, with a side of "devil monsters" you'll definitely enjoy this book. I sure did.
Bones, Aries, and Draven were absolutely perfect. The scene with all of them together 🥵🫠💀🌶

The Good:
* This is an incredibly original plot. Sometimes plotlines in dark romance can begin to feel a little overdone but there is definitely zero of that here! I was engaged and interested all of the way through and honestly a little unsure how it all would end up.
* I love the small town/powerful families trope. The ambiance is giving a little bit of a dark Riverdale sort of vibe. This book would be a great fall time/Halloween read because it takes place during that season and the town Ever Graves is super creepy.
* Nox’s tail because if you read this book for no reason other than to figure out what I’m talking about here, I think you’ll find that it’s worth it.
The Meh:
* I don’t have much to say here other than I wish that we could get more of Mia’s background, I’d love to see a prequel to this book.
Bottom Line:
If a new adult, paranormal, why choose, dark romance in a gothic small town is your vibe, you’ll love this. There is a strong found family trope that is explored as Mia has no family and no friends when she arrives in Ever Graves. This book had some unforgettable moments for me. Draven and the gate. This was a great read, if you liked Her Soul To Take you will probably adore this book!
I devoured this! I reluctantly had to put it down because of family obligations otherwise i would have been in my reading chair until finished!
Mia, has had the toughest life and she just keeps going. You cannot bring her down. She has Nox, her nightmare man and he is all she needs. He has never let her down or abandoned her like her family. The Harkers are a founding family of Ever Dark and as such have numerous literal skeletons in the closet.
Draven, Aries and Bones. Wow, these men are made of red flags but in the most delicious way! They are the elite in the town of Ever Dark. Their families rule and have for generations, now they are taking up the mantle, but, in their own way. Things will change under their rule.
I loved the way Nox, Draven, Bones and Aries all come together to ensure Mia is happy. They all want that and are so willing to put her before themselves. Each one of these men were able to help Mia heal and move forward in their own way, and in turn Mia does the same for them.
☑️ Family secrets ☑️ generational curses ☑️ forbidden love ☑️ bullying ☑️ obsession ☑️ why choose ☑️ questionable decision making ☑️ entitlement ☑️ testosterone poisoning ☑️ found family ☑️ sacrifice ☑️ some damn perfect hate f**king ☑️ multiple swords in play ☑️ amazing banter ☑️ self discovery If even one of those interests you, then you need to read Ever Dark.
Another great installment in the world of Melancholia! Though this one is a standalone, it ties in to the author's previous works, so reading them would be beneficial, though not entirely necessary.
As soon as I realised who Mia was to these men, I was so excited. I knew this would be a ride, and was not wrong! I was hooked immediately.
The guys each had their reasons for wanting Mia's home - and were a tad unhinged with their methods for trying to get her to leave - but Mia had her own reason for not wanting to give it up.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story! Another fantastic read from this author.
Following the journey of Mia Harker, the new girl in Ever Graves whose dark and haunted and the bane of Draven Blackwells existence we discover that it is so easy to be devoured by the darkness and allow it to consume all the parts of you.
Ever Dark reminds us that the darkness is in all things and seeing the light is a choice only we can make.
This dark, why choose romance is not for the faint of heart so be sure to check your triggers before diving deep into this one.
3.75 stars. Well this was a wild, dark, crazy ride! I found myself constantly saying WTH am I reading. The amount of dementedness and absolute insane things that happened in this story made for an entertaining ride.
This was such a fantastic read, dark and spicy I could not put it down, the plot and characters were interesting, and I highly recommend to all those dark romance lovers out there
Hot, dark, dirty, and sexy as hell! Cursed souls and the devil come to life. 3 men wanting to own it all and one woman who has it all bring the nightmare to life once and for all.
YESSSSS! I’m so glad this is part of a duet because I don’t just want more, I NEED more! (Quickly reading the prequel Nox right now!) From start to finish I was gripped, honestly if I didn’t have to adult I’d of finished it in one sitting, it’s just that dark, delicious, devilish and so freaking good!!! Absolutely recommend it to my dark romance girlies, you need to add this to your tbr and get stuck into this dark, delicious world! Now… I need to go take a cold shower whilst debating which of those fine, mischievous bad boys I want 😅😅
Thank you to M.Violet for allowing me to read Ever Dark 🖤
This was a good read. I've never read any of them violets books before. They are definitely dark romance which I very much enjoy, her writing was creative. Anyone that reads it definitely wants to check the trigger warnings as I don't have any but I'm sure there are many people out there who do. This is the story about Mia and the darkness within her. There are four MMCs, three of which are trying to drive Mia out of town, and the fourth one being her nightmare within. The story does have an interesting ending that I wasn't really expecting related to all four characters. If you enjoy a good dark gothic romance I highly suggest reading this one.
This was so deliciously dark and depraved I caught myself multiple times questioning my own sanity😂 The world of Melancholia is so effed up, but also so incredibly addicting I simply cannot get enough. I truly think this may be my favorite of the series. Every single one of the characters stole my heart and had me in the biggest chokehold. Mia, Draven, Bones, Aries and Nox. Omg🥵 They’re all flawed, broken in their own unique ways and yet, you can’t help but want the best for them. Mia Harker is a badass. My girl was unhinged as hell and I loved every second of it. She really gave these men a run for their money which is both shocking and hilarious because they were all deranged haha. Draven, Bones and Aries truly were something else. I honestly loved how wildly unhinged they all were and how obsessed they were with Mia. And NOX?! Forked tail AND forked tongue?! SAY LESS! The dynamic between them all was so entertaining. I truly cannot recommend this book enough!
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, this book has everything you need in a dark romance. And it’s a monster romance on top of that, chefs fucking kiss. So grab a martini and think it’s Blackwell (as a Wisconsinite and gin lover I would recommend Deaths Door, very fitting I would say).
Please mind the TWs and tags there are literally 51 one of them. This is a why choose dark romance.
So let’s start off with Mia, who was an orphan then rich grandma died and left her with a mansion and a poison industry. She just wants to live her life, it’s not her fault she has a nightmare monster and gets off on fear.
Draven who is the head of Blackwell gin and also a poison industry head, who hooks up with this mystery girl in the bar bathroom…. It was Mia. Does he want to kill her or do the devils tango? Well both
Aries: zero empathy, tallest of them all, and head of Thorn’s poison industry (are we starting to see some commonalities here), also tallest of all the humans
Bones: unaliver of the group, loves to fight and flirts with death, also the biggest of them all.
And then there’s Nox, Mia’s nightmare demon who has a forked tongue and forked 🍆
There’s a lot of past family trauma and cursed town. There’s one logistically impossible scene and yeah the poison is nightshade so when they drink it I know they’re talking about the berries, but my mind keeps going “potato juice”
Whats better than 3 hot men? How about 3 hot men and a demon To say i felt excited and honored to ARC for @ is an understatement. I have loved her stories and how dark they get (READ TRIGGERS). She is a fantastic writer and has written an amazing world. Her why choose stories have the perfect blend of all the men. It's not a one man show with some backup dancers. They are all the main attractions and boy are they attractive 🥵 There are some minor spoilers from the other books in her series but it can be read as a standalone though i strongly reccomend at least reading the novella Nox first it really helps set the stage for this one.
Draven No one in his family wanted to take over so the burden falls onto him. He and his two best friends will do anything to protect themselves even threaten the new girl in town. He's possessive, dark and lost. He always is trying to be someone else than who he actually is. He puts so much on himself to take care of those important to him.
Bones He is always ready to fight. Doesn't matter who or what he will fight anything that crosses him. He's the bad boy in the trio who has fallen to a dark place but they all work hard to keep him from it. Him and Aries are close. Like close close 😏😉🥵 He has so much pain in his heart and it absolutely kills me. He's the first to see Mia for who she is.
Aries The pretty boy sweet talker. He looks like a god but he will not hesitate to burry you alive. He was the surprise character for me. I wasn't expecting his personality at all but I loved him so much. His protectiveness and love was amazing especially when it came to Bones.
Mia My heart shattered so badly for her. No one was understanding how much she needed her family home. Reading Nox before this truly sets you up to feel how lost and broken she was. She loyal and fierce and very much into the darkside of things. She's an orphan painter who never feels like she fits in except for when she is with Nox. Now she has 3 more men who want something from her.
I absolutely loved this story. It was so intense and then ended in such a sweet way. I absolutely need more of the 5 of them and I totally am not jealous of Mia. Nope totally not. I loved how no matter what Mia was delt she handled it and didn't back down. I was also so glad she did both things at the end. I knew if I was her I would have wanted to set the whole world on fire. There we so many different painful emotions and being able to relate to so many of them just shows how talented of a writer MViolet is. I'll read anything she writes and I can't wait for more. If you are looking for a delicious why choose with dark twisted bits and a demon with a f🥵ckable tail then this is absolutely the story for you.
Ooof! Ever Dark had me on my toes from start to finish! I only put this book down when I absolutely had to.
I'm a sucker for just one bad boy with a devil's grin and a chip on his should, and M. Violet gifted us with three! Draven, Bones and Aries. *swoon* And honestly, they're so much more than bad boys, they're bad men. Very bad, devastatingly handsome men. Who do and have done very bad things. They're powerful and ruthless, and have the fear of everyone in Ever Graves. Except its newest resident, Mia Harker, our gorgeous, smart, determined MFC with her very own Nightmare demon, Nox.
Mia has returned to Ever Graves to claim her inheritance, much to the surprise of the entire town, after being thought dead for years. With the passing of her grandmother, Harker Mansion along with all its darkness, mysteries and secrets, is now hers. But she desperately wants, and needs, to find the answers to questions surrounding those mysteries, and a family she never knew. Putting the scattered, broken pieces of her past back together isn't an easy task, and our three out of four MMC's aren't helping matters at all. It's a good thing she's been living half her life in a real nightmare (gotta read it to find out!) and isn't scared of much.
Ever Dark was my introduction to the world of Melancholia, and is full of sinfully delicious, well developed characters, a demon with multiple forked appendages 🫠, an original and engaging plot with twists and an ending I did not see coming. M. Violets prose is beautiful, and I've put all her other books on my TBR. I highly recommend listening to the playlist she's provided as it really fits the tone and mood of the book.
This steamy story is a why choose with four MMC's, found family, set in a small town, dark gothic romance and has very dark themes within its pages. Bullying, düb-cøn, murder, somnophilia, enemies to lovers and drug use to name a few. So, as with all books I review, I urge you to read the trigger and content warnings provided by the author before proceeding. Your mental health matters and isn't work risking over the content of a book.
And finally, the reason y'all read these reviews, my rating(s) for some very particular content, spice, horror, gore... 😈 Ever Dark does have some mild (imo) horror vibes but I'm focusing on just the spice today. There was a lot of plot in this tale, but it had equal parts hot and yummy smüt that got started pretty early on, so I'm giving this 5⭐ read a spicy 5 outta 5 🌶️'s. I can't wait to read more from the Nocturnus series, and I hope you love book one just as much as I do!! Drop a comment down ⬇️below⬇️ and tell me what you thought of Ever Dark!! ☺️
ARC Review: Ever Dark by M.Violet Rating 5⭐️ and 4🌶️
I personally have been in a book slump recently and it took me a minute to fully read. M.Violet never disappoints her books are always a go to for me when in a down mood. Her characters and plots feed my dark soul in the best ways possible. Again she has done this not with three men this time but also a demon. It’s crazy because I wasn’t expecting Nox but I love him just as much as I love the Kings of Ever Graves.
There is no true rest for the wicked. No hope for the depraved.
MIA: she has been through so much in her life and yet her family was secretly rich. She has never met them and this house is all she’s had left. The only person who has stayed is the nightmare man she has had for years, little does she know three more monsters were about to get their claws on her as well
There’s dark, and then there’s unholy. My blasphemous soul will never be redeemed after this.
He made good on his promise to destroy my soul. I welcome it. I crave it. I need his darkness to seep into my bones, into every crevice of my being.
“Stop edging me, Draven, and come get your peace.”
BONES, AIRES, DRAVEN: the Kings of Ever Graves, they are feared, wanted, hated, Rich, and desired amongst everyone. They run the town and Mia has put a dent in their plans, they want her out but they never expected their little troubled lamb was more than that. They know the devil is tied to her and yet they don’t care
NOX: nightmare man, he’s watched her for years, loved her. He will only ever love her. He is tired of being in shadows and wants to be with her forever. He was made for her
“You can run, but you can’t hide, little lamb.”
“Think long and hard about what you’ve done, Mia. The utter fucking fury you’ve unleashed in me. I will destroy your fucking soul if you don’t give me what I want.”
“There is no life without sin. No human is free from it. Those who claim to be the most pious are the biggest sinners of all. The most dangerous. Steer clear of the self-proclaimed saints, dark one. They cause nothing but destruction in the name of their gods. And they will be the death of everything.”
“That’s my little lamb. Letting the big bad wolf slaughter her p**sy.”
We let ourselves feel everything. Tragically beautiful. Still vulnerable. Ever dark…
Holy hell does M. Violet know how to write a deliciously spicy book! We find ourselves back in Melancholia but finally get to see into the twisted town of Ever Graves!
This one follows Mia Harker after her release from Absentia Asylum, the mysterious remaining heir to the Harker fortune and more importantly, their poison fields. Queue the gorgeous and deranged Kings of Ever Graves — Draven Blackwell, Aeries Thorne and Bones Crane who want nothing more than to run Mia out of town and take over her poison — by any means necessary. What they don’t know is that Mia is just as formidable, with a tough past and a devil haunting her dreams since birth. They also don’t know that their seductive and dark tastes just fuel something deep inside Mia, a darkness that none of them can deny no matter how hard they try to fight it, and each other.
I loved Nox and the monster aspect that came with him, and man does he know how to use alllll of his assets! If you’re looking for a dark & moody RH where the plot is to get the FMC to flee town by whatever means necessary, and I mean whatever means, then this spicy read is for you!
I recommend reading the previous Melancholia books before this one but can be read on its own. Thank you so much to M. Violet for the arc and allowing me to get an early peek!
Fav Quotes: “This is blasphemy. Sick and beautiful blasphemy.”
“All I have is time and my love for you. Here or up there, it doesn’t matter. In every world and every lifetime, you are mine.”
“All three of them are a cacophony of exquisite violence, beautiful yet deadly.”
“He made good on his promise to destroy my soul. I welcome it. I crave it. I need his darkness to seep into my bones, into every crevice of my being.”
“There is darkness in all things. Some more than others. Twisted, rotting things that snake through your bones and take a hold of your soul. Monsters that crawl up from under your bed and slide between your sheets. These monsters have staked their claim on me. And they are all mine. Forever.”
“We let ourselves feel everything. Tragically beautiful. Still vulnerable. Ever dark…”
I have been a fan of M violet since the beginning and i can honestly say, she never disappoints. Every book of hers is different, but the vibes are the same as in perfectly dark, insane and so delicious. So always check your trigger warnings before reading because she will take you for a wild ride every single time for every book of hers.
This book has some different aspects to it, first you have Mia who has been cursed since she was born with a nightmare man ( Nox is chef's kiss). She's been alone ( except for Nox, ofcourse) her whole life not knowing her family until her grandma dies and she is the sole heir to an empire. Mia is so beautifully broken in so many ways but she's resilient, strong ( as are all of M violet's fmc's, god i love strong sassy woman) She will not let anytbody take away her only chance to get to know her family legacy.
Draven, Aries and bones.... Where do i even starts with these men? From the first pages i thought Draven was my man, the unhinged, psycho who goes through fire to get what he wants. But Aries and Bones were right there with him, all three of these men are very much unhinged and very very very much psycho's. ( delicious) all in their own ways with their own darkness and troubles. The friendship they have is incredible, they have always been there for eachother. They are the kings ruling with an iron fist, nobody goes against them and everyboyd gives them what they want.... until Mia Harker.... ( Smirk)
Small side note; i loved vilette in this one to, she is bones's little sister and she puts him in his place, so good!
The story is incredible, it just flows so well, i couldn't stop reading. It has a couple of secrets, the spice was sooo good so delicous. This book is def worth more than 5 stars. The ending was so fun and beautiful. I didn't want it to end
This novel is set in the same world as Wickford Hollow and Raven's Gates novels. These are characters that have had cameos in those books. If you've read them, you know what to expect. If you haven't, be prepared for dark, paranormal, reverse harem dirty deeds all throughout, from beginning to end. They're not sequels, but related series, so it's a good idea to read them. So this story has a prequel of sorts (Nox-The Ever Dark Journals of Mia Harker) that I read but didn't quite understand at the time. You don't necessarily need to read it to follow the story, but it could help setup the premise. So Mia is a long-lost relative of a wealthy matriarch that left her a fortune and the estate she chooses to move to and start her new life. Mia has an anonymous hook-up that introduces her to not one, but three unhinged enemies-Draven, Aries and Bones. As they interact with her for reasons she doesn't quite understand fully, it gets hot and spicy. Mia is not a pushover and stands up for herself, but she does have dark side that comes out whenever these boys get close. Mia has her own private torment from a family curse she can't seem to break. There's tons of spicy moments to go around between the boys and Mia. It's not as much back story since these are characters that have been mentioned in other novels. Most of the character development focuses on Draven, Mia, and Nox. I wanted more details on Aries' and Bones' backstories. Sometimes, they seemed like extras or just sidekicks to Draven. Then there was Nox, which added a paranormal aspect to the story and those scenes with him are WILD! From the start, I was intrigued to find out how this story would play out, never lost interest and was pleasantly surprised at the choices made by the MMCs and FMC at the end. If you're familiar with the series and M Violet, I think you'll appreciate the story. If you're not, check the content warnings first and know that this is a dark, gothic reverse harem with sword crossing and a "monster". It may not be for everyone, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I received an ARC of this novel and recommend it to fans of truly dark and dirty reads
Where do I even begin. This was f**king insane but in the best way possible.
So we have Mia, our fmc. She is fiesty, determined, kind in her own unique way, and has a literal nightmare attached to her.
Our mmc's, we've met them before Draven, Bones, and Aries. Let me tell you, they are much scarier up close. These 3 men are truly something else. Draven, he owns the town but is just so angry at everyone and everything. He does carry a big burden, and he loves Aries and Bones, but that's really it. Bones, he is obsessed with pain and loves the rush that it gives him, but it's also gives him an outlet to his emotional pain. Aries is a charmer. He is tall, blonde, and beautiful, but he has a unique taste when it comes to his needs...
I love this world so much. We see Mia come into town wanting to understand her family and heritage better but winds up in the path of Draven and his men. It was so funny seeing Mia run rings around these men. It was evident that they were obsessed with her from the get-go, but it did take the guys a second to catch up. Draven fights so hard for Mia's property, but Mia has dealt with her own nightmares for so long that nothing really rattles her like they think. There were so many twists and turns, but M always does an amazing job at bringing it all together and makes it make sense. One of the big twists for me wasNox. I'm not saying anymore because I want you to experience it for yourself.
I highly recommend not only reading this book but all the books in this universe because they are incredible.
Thank you so much, M and your beautiful team, for the opportunity to read this story and to be a part of your ARC team. I am extremely blessed 🙏

Why the hell I didn’t discover her books before ? After reading Nox I was looking forward to this one and oh boy I’m glad I read this one.
Draven, Bones and Aries MMC’s of the story who’s not at all like sweet innocent rather they are more like bad boy, fearful, ruthless, powerful and awfully freaking handsomely hot 🔥 of Ever Graves.
Our MFC Mia who’s broken and living all her life in a nightmare come to Ever Graves after her grandmother’s passing to inheritance Harker Mansion with lots of darkness, secrets and mysteries.
Via this book I discovered about Melancholia world. Which is full with different characters and personalities. Holy moly I wasn’t expecting the twist which she put in it. That twist was really unexpected at least for me. I was like she really hide good stuff well 🫣.
Mia went through a lot of hardships, ups and downs but despite everything she stood strong. Our MMC’s were also there for her and supported her. Together they navigated their way to their own HEA.
And now let’s talk about spice of this book 🌶️ I was literally panting for air. Felt like couldn’t even breathe. Every scene that I’ve read, I so badly wanted to be inside of this book. They really were making me feel turned on.
This book will make you feel every emotions. I cried, laughed and cried more while reading. I’ve never thought an why choose book would make me feel this much happier. Why didn’t I read before. M. Violet knew what she was doing while writing this book. I’m sure all of her books will be masterpieces just like this one. Would 100% recommend this book to people who loves why choose trope.
Before starting read TW cause it may trigger some people with some trope of this book.
M Violet has easily become an insta-read author for me. The world of Melancholia has captured my heart and soul. It’s a world I highly recommend getting into. Intriguing, dark and deviant, the characters of Ever Dark easily consumed my mind and will forever live rent free. Mia is a fantastic FMC. Fierce, sassy and resilient. She’s had a difficult upbringing and does her best to navigate her new life while some locals keep throwing obstacles in her way and relentlessly harassing her. Oh, these locals, only the most powerful, sexy, depraved, did I mention sexy, men who control Ever Graves. Aries, the suave, charming Adonis, lover of dark kinks and lustful to the core he cannot help but catch feels after crossing paths with Mia. Bones, the bad boy, dark, unhinged, and violent with that small, soft, weak spot for the one who has taken over a piece of his heart. Delicious, decadent, and debauched Draven, walled off, cold and calculating and oh so sinfully sexy cannot control the desire and chemistry ignited once Mia has invaded his mind. The dynamic between these four is an inferno of panty melting fervent goodness. Not enough adjectives to express my adoration for my darling Nox. The curse haunting Mia in her dreams in the most impassioned, lascivious ways. His depravity knows no bounds but is nothing compared to the love and eternal devotion to his one true love. The story has tension, action, mystery, violence, suspense and passion. I devoured this book and do not want this to be the last we see of these characters. I’m greedy and want so much more. Start with the Wickford Hollow Duet and fall in love with the world of Melancholia.

🖤 𝓻𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓮𝔀 🖤 Ever Dark is part of the Melancholia series, as they are all standalones but with reoccurring characters in each book. This book was dangerously dark and full of spice, that I honestly could not put it down until I reached the very end. Fortunately for us readers, this is part of a duet because I NEED more!
🖤 𝓹𝓵𝓸𝓽 🖤 Mia Harker has just been released from Absentia Asylum. She’s the final heir to the Harker fortune and the poison fields they have owned and operated. 🖤 𝓬𝓸𝓷𝓬𝓵𝓾𝓼𝓲𝓸𝓷 🖤 If you’re looking for a dark and steamy dark romance where they’ll stop at nothing to run her out of town by all means necessary, with spicy scenes, and a plot like no other, this should be added to the top of your TBR immediately.
Initial reaction… unhinged in the best of ways. This book is definitely not for everybody…. But it was for me. Mia is just as dark and unhinged as the rest of them. I really enjoyed the mixed of monster we get with Nox and all his fancy appendages and tail and just a whole lot of yes from me. Like Mia girl… I get it… because same.
Mia arrives at the Harkers home thinking she’s found a connection to her family and might learn about them. She did indeed find that but she also soon found herself mixed up in the legacy of the town and her familial history with Draven, Aries and Bones. Draven and her is textbook hate to love. There is nothing gentle about that dynamic and there were definitely a few moments between them that had my eyebrows raising. But that explosiveness makes for some fan worthy moments if you catch my drift. She pushes each one of those guys and feeds their darkness. They think they can bully her into giving them what they want but Mia doesn’t back down easily… that’s what I loved so much about it. From beginning to end it was full send. I loveddddd reading the guys pov when they realized that what they were doing was just in fact making them even more obsessed with her and not really achieving the goal of her selling her home and leaving town. So if you like a solid hate to love moment, with dark and depraved desires, and monster nightmares… this book just may be for you.
Mia has had a very rough life. She was raised in an orphanage until she aged out. She spent time homeless and even in an insane asylum.
You see Mia has been plagued by her demon shadow man for as long as she can remember. What he has been for her has grown and changed as she grew. However, whenever he wanted her time he kept her in a dream realm that basically put her into a coma in the real world.
Now Mia is being told she was left a mansion, a ton of money, and a cryptic note from a family member she didn't even know existed. So now she must uncover the secrets from her past, her shadow man, the town and these men that she finds so fascinating.
This book is super dark and spicy. You want three unhinged best friends who down poison for fun? We have that here. You want a demon with a sexy tail and a double peen? Yup we have that too. You want a curse that shapes all of their lives? You better grab this book because we absolutely have that. You want a little MM action? Yup that's here too.
This book was a fantastic ride. I haven't read the other books this is linked to but I did read the prequel novella and I absolutely want to read the other books.
Author did a fantastic job of making everyone unique but also making them all fit together. They each bring something to the table for each other and the relationships are vast. I loved it.
This world of Melancholia is building and expanding and the more and more M. Violet puts into it the more I fall in love with it! Ever Dark is essentially an interconnected standalone. So if you've read M's other books like the Wickford Hollow Duet, The Devil's of Raven's Gate or Absentia Mori then you've already entered this expanded universe where somehow one character plays into another.
As soon as I saw this would be Bones, Draven & Aries story I was jumping for joy. If you've read Absentia Mori then you've already been introduced to these 3 and Aries is Libra's brother. There is just something about them that had me intrigued instantly. They are each depraved in their own way but Bones being the reckless bad boy is my favorite. Draven is more of the leader and needs that control over everything while Aries is the charmer. I noticed it in AM but it comes out more in Ever Dark. He wants revenge BADLY but when he meets Mia something switches, and all the plans change. Mia is tough! She is strong and confident and when it came to these men, she wasn't afraid. I wish I had that much confidence in the face of a "devil" but Mia has been through a lot so I feel like she had to be strong.
I will say it again if you need a dark why choose, academia style book you NEED to read M. Violet's books. Most of them you can read separately besides the duets but it may cause some spoilers.
I received this book as an ARC, and what a wild ride it was! MViolet has once again crafted a captivating and steamy love story that you won’t be able to put down.
The world of Melancholia is one I keep returning to because I miss the characters, and *Ever Dark* is no exception. Mia is fierce yet broken, haunted in the most intriguing way by her nightmare man, Nox (seriously, loud applause for him!). This character is the perfect blend of devotion and depravity. After meeting Nox, you’ll undoubtedly wish the devil had given you your own nightmare man.
The Kings of Ever Graves do not disappoint. Draven, Bones, and Aries are everything you never knew you needed. You’ll find yourself both hating and craving them at the same time! They are twisted and delightfully wicked in the best ways. Add in Nox, and it’s an overload of steam, sex, and raw, passionate love.
I love that we finally got to explore Ever Graves in depth and see how it connects to Wickford Hollow and Ravens Gate. The intertwining of the stories is skillfully executed. There were several jaw-dropping moments and many answered questions included in this chapter of Melancholia.
Thank you, MViolet, for this spicy Gothic masterpiece! Now get to writing the next chapter of Melancholia; I'm already going through withdrawals.🖤
