Harmony’s the owner/operator of Port Haven’s first independent coffee shop. Toby Kelleher owns the town’s long-standing bookstore right next door.
Books and coffee right next to each other sounds like a match made in heaven, right?
Wrong.
The very existence of her café quells his plans to take his cozy bookstore to the next level, and Harmony’s plans to hold concerts at the cafe could kill the bookstore’s cozy vibe and change the face of Port Haven’s quaint historic downtown.
Harmony and The SeaSong café must go before the very spirit of the town is destroyed. And Toby knows just how to drive her out.
But like a song’s catchy hook, she gets under his skin, leaving him to wonder if he really wants her to go. But by the time he realizes it, their song might already be over.
The SeaSong Café is a novel intended for adults and contains topics such as unplanned pregnancy, parental abandonment, and police violence. Please consider these topics when choosing your next read.
Amy Kaybach has been writing since she learned to hold a pencil at three. When she’s not daydreaming about sexy rock stars and how to put them into print, she’s working in IT or planning her next great adventure with her best friend since junior high. She lives on the central coast of California with her two obnoxious, but well-loved beagles. As a motorsports fan she loves her cars loud and fast and as a music lover she her music hard and loud.
I absolutely loved this story! It was so sweet and heartfelt, and I thoroughly enjoyed how well-developed each character was. They truly felt like family, which made the narrative even more engaging.
At first, I wasn’t a fan of Toby, but he really redeemed himself by the end! I appreciated the unique pacing—it had that slow-burn vibe I was craving, and then suddenly, BAM! The shift caught me off guard in a good way. After reading a lot of slow-burn romances lately, I was looking for something fresh, and this book delivered. I literally couldn’t put it down; I finished it in less than four hours!
I also found myself frustrated with that cop in the story—seriously, you can't just assume! 🙄
Now, I’m curious about the Blind Rebels series because Harmony and Gibson's conversations about their childhood left me wanting to know more about their parents.
If you’re looking for a delightful read that mixes love, community, and a touch of tension, I highly recommend The SeaSong Café!
Amy knows how to write a romance and I was invested in this story from the beginning. This was a true romance but I felt like it was so much more. I felt like this was about growth, finding yourself, family, and love. Harmony first appeared in The Blind Rebels series and I fell in love with her there. After everything that happened to her and Tobias in their lives they deserved this happy ending. I loved watching them grow as individuals and as a couple. If you have read any books by this author you are missing out truly.
Harmony and Toby's story was so cute! These two have a special place in my heart. Though they had a rough start to their relationship, I love how it was centered on family and being there for each other. I love how down to earth Harmony is, and how protective Toby is. I enjoyed this story a lot!
I loved this book! Harmony was such an icon. I absolutely loved her character and her personality. Tobias was such a a-hole at first but he was just struggling. I loved their relationship. When Harmony was hurting and her whole family came down I absolutely loved their protectiveness and how everyone wanted to beat up "Book a-hole." Gibson is this book was just such a nice touch and I loved his and Harmony's relationship. This was such an amazing add to the blind rebels world and I loved reading it.
I absolutely loved that this story was about Harmony
Harmony is older now and is navigating life on her own she's in a new town Port Haven running her own coffee shop and dealing with the grumpy neighbor who wants her coffee shop taken down
she also has a surprise that she has to handle and she's not sure how to handle it but she knows that no matter what she can do it, she's got her family to help her out.
So many great things about this book. The story The characters The banter between Toby and Harm
I loved it all! Amy did such a great job with this story. I can't wait to read more.
Amy Kaybach has crafted a delightful and engaging story with 'The SeaSong Café.' The characters are well-developed, and their chemistry is palpable from the very beginning. Harmony's determination and Toby's stubbornness create a dynamic and entertaining conflict that keeps the reader hooked. The setting of Port Haven adds a charming backdrop to the story, making it easy to get lost in the small-town atmosphere.
The novel tackles themes such as unplanned pregnancy, parental abandonment, and police violence, adding depth and complexity to the narrative. These topics are handled with sensitivity and care, making the story both thought-provoking and emotionally resonant.
Okay so Im starting this off admitting this one was definitely a sweeter romance then what I normally gravitate to but I'm always within the mindset of sometimes it's good to venture slightly out of your Norm, I think it's cute there is just a little bit of spice if you're not into spice it's easily stepped over without missing a bunch of the book, he's grumpy she's for the most part sweet but she's definitely got some stuff going on check the trigger warnings I wouldn't say there's anything massively big but some people have them, it is enemies to lovers there is age Gap there is quite a chunk of a backstory and overall I did thoroughly enjoy it.
I'm usually not a fan of small town romance but I loved this one. I loved how it was linked to the Blind Rebels series even if it's a standalone. I loved to see them there, and how Harmony is all grownup now. It was a bit more difficult to like Toby who is very grumpy even if he is the best son ever. The author succeeded very well to show the ambiguous feelings of someone who has to take care for their declining parent. I could relate a lot to that experience. So I enjoyed that story very much.
I absolutely love Harmony and her cafe idea! With that being said Toby initially was not one of my favorite people, but he totally redeemed himself by the end. Now the small minded, o0ps, I mean small town cop, had me fuming mad. I enjoyed this one, from the banter to the overwhelming support and everything in between.
Absolutely love Harmony. She is such a wonderful person and loves with her whole heart. Now Tobias is a jerk to start off but guess I understand some of it with what he’s dealing with. But still want to slug him and tell him to see what’s in front of him. Love how her family rally’s when she has a problem and just love up on each other. This is my first read of Amys but I’ll be going back to catch up with all these characters. Enjoy Harmony and Tobias story ❤️
Loved that this story is about a child of one of the Blind Rebels. Great family banding together, especially Harmony and Gibson. Didn't like Toby at first but then he came thru for Harmony, great couple. Thoroughly enjoyed and hope there are further books for the other children.
Okay first of all this is a long and spoiler heavy review bc I have a lot to say and I feel like I really want to explain my view point and rating bc I DID like this book and I had a really tough time settling on the rating I gave it. I liked this book, I received it as an ARC for an honest review. I don’t plan to tag the author in my review, not that I often do anyway. Preface: I haven’t read any of the Blind Rebels books so idk the family background outside of what I’ve seen here. After reading this book, I do plan to add those to my TBR. With that out of the way, I really loved Harmony and her family and all of the dynamics that were between them. I loved getting to know everyone and seeing how the family showed up for her, how supportive they were in helping her to open her café and build a life for herself. This was an enemies to lovers/ kind of bully romance. Truthfully, I did not like Toby, and the best I ever felt towards him was neutral. The romance end goal stopped being what I was reading for, especially as it got to like over 85% of the way through the book and he was still presumed to be the bad guy? And he didn’t even do anything redeeming other than lingering by the cafe, Harmony’s mom is the one who basically got them back together by telling him to get his shit together and I felt like there truly wasn’t enough reason for her to do that at all. Like even if her daughter has feelings for this guy, he never gave a single green flag? And certainly not to Vi. The ending felt really rushed to me and it felt like there wasn’t enough interaction to justify how things were resolved before the epilogue. Truthfully, I felt like they didn’t actually spend enough time together to fall in love the way they did or the way that Toby said he was. That being said, the supporting storyline and the relationship harmony had with her family and especially her cousin Gibson very much made up for it, and I started viewing this book as less of a romance and more of just a novel of her finding herself, and that made it better for me. I wish we had seen more interactions of her integrating into the town bc while her café became more popular, it didn’t necessarily feel like Harmony was building relationships with people. I would’ve liked to see her actually volunteering at the programs that Toby mentioned in his POV. I don’t love this style of writing that mentions things happening, bc I get that it’s dual POV, but I feel taken out of the story or like I’m missing out on stuff I would’ve really liked to see. I do acknowledge that I love a long book, I am very much a fanfic reader through and through, I want every second of every moment, even the stuff that editors and publishers often want pulled out bc of page restraints, I know that’s not totally realistic though, and I wish that could be balanced better for the story.

Far away from her famous family, Harmony is determined to make it on her own in the small town of Port Haven. Toby is the grumpy bookstore owner next door, set on running Harmony out of town so he can expand his business into the space now occupied by The SeaSong Café. Their rivalry comes to a halt after both are caught in vulnerable situations that lead them to unexpectedly lean on each other.
You’ll enjoy The SeaSong Café if you love: ☕️ Grumpy x Sunshine 📚 Business Rivals ☕️ Small Town 📚 Age Gap
I always enjoy the business rivalry trope and even more so when the FMC is always one step ahead of the jerk of an MMC!
This book got me hyped to read the Blind Rebels series with the first book set to release on audio in April and I hope to read more from Port Haven in the future!
Note:This book does contain topics of parental abandonment and police violence.
I absolutely LOVED this book! It was so good from the first page to the very last! I loved the Blind Rebels series but I would have to say that The SeaSong Café is Amy's best book so far. 🙂
One of my favorite things in the story was when Toby finally realized how he truly felt about Harmony even after he was a complete jerk to her in the beginning and tried to push her away again later on but in the end, he couldn't deny how he truly felt about her.
My favorite part of "The SeaSong Cafè" was when they had the concert at the Cafè, I loved that part of the story as going out to enjoy live music is my favorite thing to do during the summer. 🩷
These were a few of my favorite lines/quotes from "The SeaSong Cafè"
"Is this what pregnancy is going to do to me? Make me notice things like my enemy’s nice a**? And how those biceps of his are being hugged just right by the spring green polo he’s wearing? C**p—now I sound like a d**n romance novel. I roll my eyes internally at myself." {Chapter 5, page 49}
"When I met him, he loathed my very existence. But then there was the other day when our hands touched. And then again yesterday, when he brought the mail over. He seemed to be interested in me and exchanged pleasantries like a normal person. Why are guys so d**n confusing?" {Chapter 8, page 63}
"Garrett, Muted Anarchy’s bassist, tries to grab Gibson after he barges into the kitchen at the sound of commotion. He slips in flour and ends up tripping Gibson and Toby, the three of them wrestling on the floor like three Pillsbury Doughboys playing Flour Twister." {Chapter 31, page 224}
I loved how in the last quote I picked, she called them "Pillsbury Doughboys playing Flour Twister," I thought that was really funny. And the "Why are guys so d**n confusing?" part in the second quote is totally relatable which is why I chose it as one of my favorites.
The SeaSong Cafè is definitely a five star read and one of my favorite books of 2025 so far. I can't wait to read more of the Port Haven series along with whatever else Amy decides to write! ❤️
*I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Harmony's awesome. I loved reading about her, her dreams of the cafe, and her incredible relationship with her family.
Toby sucks. He's a bullying asshole from the start, and even the little bits of redemption later in the book only served to make him not-horrible, but still nowhere near likeable, much less loveable. He may have apologized and all, but he's still an unpleasant man. I honestly wish the HEA had just involved Harmony living in harmony with him as her next-door business neighbour instead of in a relationship with him.
I think part of it is that his cruelty to Harmony at the beginning was so uncalled for. So he wanted the space she got for her cafe; he had no burning reason to justify why it meant so much to him, so his bullying just made him petty. And okay, so the situation with his mother's dementia garners sympathy; he's sympathetic but still not likeable. Harmony did more for his mother in this story than he did. And okay, so That makes him a bare minimum decent person, like yay you get a cookie, but still not someone I would LOVE to be a friend, much less a love interest. I also wish we'd seen more of him caring for Harmony through her pregnancy; the most caring we see from him is giving her a ride when it's rainy, so again, yay, he's a halfway decent person. Bleahhhh.
I do like how the author described his fears of his age gap with Harmony being linked to not wanting her to have to care for him in old age like he currently cares for his mom. I thought that was a nice internal conflict for an age gap romance, and not one that's often explored in this type of trope. But again, that makes him sympathetic but still nowhere near someone I'd root for in a love story.
0 stars for Toby and the romance. 5 stars for Harmony as a character and her family. I'd probably drop this down to 2 stars, just coz the romance is the central bit and it didn't work for me AT ALL, but I love Harmony and the family dynamics too much to do that to them.
Firstly want to start off by saying this book was decent, I did not hate it . I enjoyed moments of the book but I feel like something was missing and it was rushed.
The story itself was interesting and intrigued me from the very beginning. The idea and tropes were right up my alley .. enemies to lovers, small town romance. I loved the idea of a newbie opening up a cafe next to the local bookstore owner.
I could feel the anticipation and spark between both Harmony and Toby and was excited to see what would happen next. As for the other characters I really enjoyed the family dynamic of harmony’s family , how they would do anything for each other and all be there when someone needed it. I did find there was alot of family members .. like cousins and such which was hard to keep track of.
I really enjoying this book and had high hopes for it but it fell short for me. There was some repetition , back and forth , and a lot of rushing. I felt like there was not many moments of the main characters together .. just the one time and I didn’t know how they could fall in love with all this other stuff happening in between. Also, I felt harmony to be very childish for her age.. it felt like she was a teenager and her parents babied her a lot , the MMC is nearly 40 and even though there is age gap it just made it seem awkward for me, it even stated that Toby calls her a kid.
The ending was super rushed … and not much happened .. there was alot of resting and not really interactions at all between our main characters, it was more focused on her family and the band. When reading the last page I didn’t even realize it was done because of how abruptly it ended.
I say if you’re looking for a quick read , go for it. I was just hopeful for more. All in all, the story , the single mom, newbie in town, enemies to romance, strong family dynamics, the sympathies towards Toby and his mom were things that I did enjoy :) . I just wish there was more romance and a story written about that .
Thank you BBPR and Amy for the ARC

Harmony has a dream of owning a cafe in her favorite town in northern California. With the help of her parents her dreams become a reality. Unfortunately she has a neighboring bookstore owner who isn't as happy to have her open since he wanted to buy the building to expand his bookstore.
Harmony finds out she's pregnant with her ex's baby. When telling him her offered to "Venmo money to get rid of it" 🤢 I'm so glad she got away from him. Suffering with "morning sickness" that hits every evening is so relatable.
Toby the bookstore owner starts to realize he was a little hard on Harmony before he even knew her. So after a little time he starts to realize he might have feelings for her. But being his mother has alzhimers with dementia he doesn't want to be a burden later in life to anyone he may end up with so he assumes it's easier to be alone forever.
Harmony struggles with finding the way to tell her parents about the baby and with her cousin arranging for his band to play at the cafe she doesn't have much time to decide when to do it.
After seeing Toby's mom wandering in front of the cafe one day she tries to help her get home without contacting the police and possibly getting Toby in trouble. His mom only wanted to go to the ocean so Harmony made that happen. Shortly after she arrives the police and Toby also arrive. Being scared that something happened to his mom Toby yells at Harmony and the police arrest her for taking her. Toby wasn't intending for them to arrest her but since they did she was facing charges.
Harmony called her cousin Gibbs to bail her out of jail and he of course does. He shows up early the next morning with the rest of her family in tow. This leaves her with the responsibility of telling her family about the unplanned pregnancy and the response from Rob.
Will things work out between Harmony and Toby? Will she end up selling the cafe after all? Find out in this easy read that keeps you hooked the whole time.

Book Review: The SeaSong Cafe By Amy Kaybach Five Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
First off this entire story shows Harmony’s growth and how she still struggles with her past as a child. Which was such a wonderfully written thing. I love the prologue, it was sweet to see Viola and her POV. You get to see Harmony and how she's alot like her father Killian, not liking conflict but still handles herself when it came to Toby. Harmony’s stupid Ex... that's all... stupid Jerk Ex. The town meeting was such an interesting point in the book. Oh man seeing Harmony & Gibson all grown up blows my mind. Toby has his reasons for being the way he is, but damn my heart hurts for him not wanting a relationship due to how he could end up like his mother. But Harmony staying with him at the hospital after he helped her was sweet. Damn they had such a hot moment together back at Harmony’s, but damn thinking she isn't worthy of love due to her past with her birth mom & Ex is heartbreaking... I like that Jerry tries to get Toby to understand Harmony & give her a break. Gosh poor Harmony can't get a break... doing something nice just for something to happen to her... then her wanting to give up her dreams.. I love her family The Blind Rebels family for life. They are seriously amazing for everything they did for Harmony! And that song from Killian! I teared up! Oh my gosh that ending with Toby is perfection! But that letter from Sevenya made me tear up. I loved Harmony’s story.
The SeaSong Cafe is a cute fast read, that is perfect for a lazy afternoon snuggle or a good palette cleanser! I started and finished it in a matter of hours! It follows Harmony, an adorable young woman branching out from her family to make her own way in the world (a second gen character for Amy Kaybach--first seen in her Blind Rebels series as a little girl), and Toby, a grumpy bookstore owner. I laughed and cried (ugly cried on several occasions) throughout this book! It's great if you want to feel all the feels! It's also a very sweet love story with only one open door scene between the couple that's definitely making love. After the open door scene things move a little faster than I was ready for, and the love was almost abrupt in the declarations...but the buildup was definitely there!
If you love a good age gap romance, read this! If you love the grumpy/sunshine trope, read this! If you love an enemies-to-lovers trope, read this! If you love wildly adorable FMCs, read this! If you love the tortured backstories, read this! If you love to see the MCs overcome childhood hurts, read this! If you love sweet romance, read this! If you love a giant overbearing and loving family, read this!
I cannot wait to see more from this generation of characters! And definitely more of Port Haven!
Wow I didn't know what expect but this is an incredible read. Returning to a small town, visited on and off for years with family, Harmony is determined to make her dream of a space where she can sell coffee and showcase local bands a reality. Toby, born and bred in Port Haven runs the bookshop handed down through his family, next door to the shop Harmony has turned into her dream. Just one problem, he wanted the same space to extend his own shop and is resentful and angry that an outsider has taken it from him. Amy takes us through the ups and downs of a young girl, battling to make a life for herself and a man who is trapped in a world where his life isn't really his own, his mothers illness taking so much of his time. The attraction is between them is a heartbeat away until it all falls apart, leaving them both reeling. We have a very welcome visit from The Blind Rebels from Amy's previous series. This is a standalone story but if you haven't already go back and meet The Rebels in their previous series. Amy writes characters that will draw you in from page 1. They will make you laugh, cry, sing, despair, leave you heartbroken and lift you up again and again. I can't recommend this book highly enough, do yourself a favour and grab it, a bottle of wine, tissues and find a quiet space to lose yourself in this amazing book.
What I thought The SeaSong Cafe is a dual pov of the 2 MC’s, Tobias and Harmony. Harmony moves to the small town that Tobias lives in to start her cafe, to get out of her musical family’s shadows. We find out she’s pregnant pretty early on into this book. I absolutely fell in love with these characters and Amy’s writing style. I felt ANGER when reading about the part where she got arrested, and seeing the fear she had for her baby’s safety. I WISH we would’ve seen more of her cousins personalities, and seeing more of the family dynamic. Tobias wasn’t anything extraordinary, he had good detail but i just didn’t fall in love with him, he did a lot of crappy things, and not a lot of good.
What I loved I just loved seeing the moments where this huge family, whether is by blood or found came together to help and protect Harm. Dr. Jones, in way was Harmony’s first connection to this town, and was always helpful and kind. I loved seeing Gibs, when he first found out abt Harms pregnancy, and what we find out he does later in the book. I love that he was the first person Harmony always went to and could depend on. When Jerry was talking to Toby about how he was handed the shop too, just like Harmony in ch.20. Mav in ch.25 at the bookstore.

I had the pleasure of getting an ARC copy of this book and was excited about it, because I love a good coffee shop romance. I was unaware that it was a series, there is a decent amount of context given, it doesn't feel like I am missing anything because I have not read the other books. I am certainly intrigued enough that I would like to read other books in this series. Port Haven, where the story is set, feels like a lovely postcard small town, giving Hallmark movie vibes. Harmony going after her dream and also wrestling her abandonment issues hit me very hard and I found myself tearing up a couple of times. The story is lovely and full of heart, however, the MMC Toby fell a little short for me. While we do get the inner workings of his mind, and I can understand his hesitance around his age (being 14 years older than Harmony) and dealing with his mother’s declining health. It felt like dialog-wise he wasn't actually very expressive. So it felt a little like he’s let off the hook a little easy because he comes off a lot meaner than the author intended. I still enjoyed the book and hope to read more of this author's work.
5 stars for The SeaSong Cafe! This book made me so happy—I had an absolute blast reading it and didn’t want it to end. Coffee and books? Grumpy and sunshine? What more could you ask for?
I loved that this was a spin-off from the Blind Rebels series. Whilst Harmony is determined to step out of her father’s shadow and make a name for herself, the story still weaves in the beloved characters from the Blind Rebels world, which made it all the more enjoyable.
Toby and Harmony seemed like complete opposites at first, but deep down, they weren’t so different. Toby could be a total grump (borderline jerk), but he had his reasons—and underneath it all, he was a softie. Watching their relationship evolve was so satisfying. The book also had a strong focus on family and support, which added to its warmth. Harmony’s bond with her cousin Gibson (another Blind Rebels kid) was especially heartwarming.
Tobias is a middle aged bookstore owner in a small town, and Harmony is a daughter to a rockstar who opens a cafe in a small town.
I love Harmony, I love how she holds her head up high even though her deck of cards is crap, I loved learning how close she was with her family
I love that Tobias is super close with his mom & he does a wonderful job taking care of the ones he love
I wish that there would have been more to Harm & Tobs story 😩 maybe a little more back and forth banter, or maybe going more into detail about their relationship after they got together, I think that is what is missing for me I know we got both POVs and the one spicy scene but I wish we would’ve gotten more interaction between the two of them either fighting or loving because I did not fully feel the connection between them.
I overall enjoyed this quick read, it is a good read to pick up after reading something heart breaking
The SeaSong Cafe was such a cute story. I know it's the first in a new series by Amy Kaybach, and can absolutely be read on it's own (that's what I did!) but I think it would be helpful to have read her past Blind Rebels series to understand who the prologue and the enormous (and I do mean enormous!) cast of familial characters are.
That being said, I really liked the back and forth banter between the MC's and the genuine pull they had between them. I do feel like the ending felt rushed and a little forced, but I love where it ended up. I also feel left out of a few key conversations that the MC's definitely needed to have that weren't on page. It would have filled out their story more. Overall, a solid 4* from me.
Tropes - Grumpy/Sunshine, Business Rivals, Small Town, Age Gap Spice - 🌶️🌶️🌶️ (but only a single scene and can easily be skipped)
**Thank you BookishBubbly and Amy Kaybach for sending this book for review. All opinions are my own.**
Love, love, love this book especially that Harmony is the daughter of Killian and Viola from The Blind Rebels series! Harmony had a hard childhood due to her birth mother, but once she went to live with her dad Killian, and Viola, her life turned around. Now, she’s determined to make a life for herself out of the shadow of her musical family and The Blind Rebels. She fell in love with Port Haven growing up and her dream of owning a cafe there is finally coming true. Toby is the bookstore owner next door who had wanted that cafe space for himself so he could expand his business. They start out as enemies because of this but their attraction to each other can’t be denied. They both learn and grow as individuals over the course of the book as they fall in love. I love their chemistry and was so happy to see them get their happily ever after!
This book was a quick read for me as I devoured it! Harmony is a 20 something year old trying to make a name for herself in her own way away from her father who is a well-known rockstar. I love her love of coffee and her dedication to offering a space to up and coming musicians.... except Toby is trying to ruin it! What starts as enemies soon turns to friendship out of odd circumstances and then something even more, until of course, he ghosts her due to his own personal life making him feel like he doesn't deserve a happily ever after. This book has twists and turns and for a while I thought it wasn't going to work out but everything came together in the end, and I was SO happy to see Toby and Harmony have their own version of happily ever after. It was a great read, I don't read many small-town vibes books, but this one really hit the spot.
