I thought I was on the road to nowhere—a path paved with broken dreams. Partied one too many times. Lost one too many jobs. Then fate threw me a lifeline—a chance to work for one of the most successful NHL teams in existence.
But, like so many things in life, it came with a sting in the tail: Aaron Taylor—hockey’s golden boy and the fastest player in the league—on and off the ice. He tried to get under my skin. Use me for a little fun. So, I decided to play along. Teach him a lesson. Wipe that plastic smile off his too-perfect face.
Foolishly, I thought I could handle him. That I could play with fire without getting burned. But Aaron Taylor doesn’t play fair. Just like the devil, he attacks with a smile and poisons with charm. I should have known better. I should have run. Why did I let myself get caught? Because Aaron doesn’t need love—everyone loves him. He already gave his heart away once. And the past? It refuses to let him go.
Twisted Game is book two in the New York Flames a series of interconnected standalones. They do not need to be read in order. For Cain and Ava’s story, you may enjoy Vicious Game.
This book completely took me by surprise! My book club picked it as a bonus book this month, as none of us have ever read a hockey romance and wanted to see what all the hype was about. I LOVED THIS BOOK! It is duel perspective, following Elena & Aaron, who have instant attraction but try to stay away, until they can’t. The spice is this book was wild, but at some points a little much, which is why I gave this book 4 stars. Surprisingly, this book also deals with some heavy topics, as Elena’s mother lives with depression, which honestly added so much to the book, along with seeing both of their family dynamics and how it has shaped them. There was so much more to this book than I expected and I loved every second of it! Another great KU option! If you’re looking extra spice, a MMC who would do anything for his girl, and some tugging at your heart strings, pick this book up!
Elena & Aaron We follow a different couple in this story and it is a good read. I have read other stories by this author and think that they were great! This is an original angle on the sports romance with a FMC that I really relate to, and felt a connection to this story! This is a story that I Loved!!! I highly recommend! No Spoilers!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
