5 big stars! This is a great start to a series filled with historical romance meets magic from the elements.

Serena and her sisters are split throughout time for safety. We are slowly learning the reason through the book and more i think will be in the next books.

This is Heather McCollum’s pen name for this subgenre. I’ve loved how her writing has developed especially over the last 18 months. This story you could tell was living within her waiting to come out. I’ve been wanting a historical romance meets magic since the bezerker/druid series from Byrne and this fits the need.

In this one Serena (fire) and Keenan have the background of a prophecy related to Keenan’s family driving the story. The prophecy has held Keenan back and of course Serena helps him break through it and find his own destiny. Spice is there - maybe a little later than her HM books but it was more time for an excellent development of feelings and bond between the H and h. It’s not overly historical to drown the story out and it’s not overly magic to drown the romance out. Solid plot, great characters, believable bonding and of course a HEA.

We get introduced to the heroine of the second book and I can’t wait for the next book to be out.

Check this out if you want a little paranormal magic thrown into a historical romance in Scotland times. You don’t need to read anything else by this author to enjoy this one.

The natural beauty of the Highlands combines with both history and magic in this amazing debut from Eleri.

Cultures intertwine, weaving a story that will have you on the edge of your chair. The first book of the series introduces you to time traveling sisters, hidden in the folds of time with their magic powers to guide them in defeating evil.

Having read books by this author previously (Heather’s non-fantasy books are /highly/ recommended by this reader), I knew Prophecy would have a lot to live up to. Serena and Keenan did NOT disappoint- there’s action, romance, magic, a witch’s familiar, accurate historical points, and even some humour. I found myself logging every detail, looking to uncover hidden clues and signs that will be of use when the next book is released. I couldn’t put the book down!

If you’re looking for a historical romance/fantasy crossover that is well-written, carefully researched, and lovingly crafted into an intricate story, look no further.

The prophecy has ruled Keenan's life from the time he can remember and no matter how he's been treated, he will always protect his brother and accept that he himself will soon die. That is until he meets Serena! With her telepathic powers, being able to read everyone's mind, she's certainly a power to be reckoned with but when she meets Keenan, she can't read his thoughts!! Needless to say, that has her unsettled and there's also the fact that they are quite attracted to each other but he keeps pulling away, thinking that she's meant to be with his brother, save the clan and bring peace.

There's never a dull moment in this story and it is filled with danger, magic and a deep abiding love that will leave you breathless. Lots of twists and turns, some I didn't expect! Excellent writing which is what I'm used to with this author:)

Definitely recommend this book!

A classic

Wonderfully written, beautiful characters. Eldridge Drake is a new favorite. As always the characters are well developed and the story is detailed and captivating. There is a powerful love story and just enough magic to tie it all together. A strong beautiful women and the Highlander she loves, written as only this author can do.

Have you ever read a tagline for a book and knew immediately that you needed to read it? That was me with this book. "She can read everyone's mind but his." I am sold.

The start of this book introduces a mother that is desperate to send her daughters through time to protect them and she sends each of them with one of her powers. Serena is our FMC. She got her mothers ability to read minds and she has been living with a traveling group of people. One night while she was dancing, she comes across a man whose mind she gets nothing from. A series of events leads to them working together to clear her adoptive brothers name as it becomes obvious to him that she is the woman mentioned in a prophecy that has been passed down through his family.

Overall, I really enjoyed this. I liked the writing, the characters and the magic. The tension was amazing - he wants to deny the attraction between them due to the prophecy that he truly believes in and it makes for so many good moments. There is a part of the over arching plot line of the series that I did/do not enjoy that honestly kept me from giving this five stars - it involves a character that manipulates things quite a bit for the overarching series plot and I just wish she had just let them work on things on their own, I feel like knowing how much she had orchestrated took away from the love story. I am looking forward to more of the series and getting to read as the rest of the sisters find their true mates.

I usually do not read historical romances with magic. This book is an excellent exception! So glad I got to be a part of a wonderful love story.
