It was subtle at first. For the first several months, she assumed it was merely the stress of the war; for the next several months, she assumed it was the stress of the trials; then when winter approached, she assumed it was stress from school.

why isn't this fanfiction that popular? I know it's not Manacled and it's not that super complicated story, but trust me, THIS IS AWESOME.
This is so easy to get into. Everything is completely amazing. The plot is so incredible that the love and intimacy are also so good. I like this book so much.

Binged this on a plane and at first I was like nope but SenLinYu does a fabulous job of creating a situation that is objectively horrible and making the characters complicated and loveable. I love how it ended

I have a love hate relationship with senlinyu, her writing is very good but she lingers on every single plot point so agonizingly long. It making finishing her books kind of frustrating, but I realize it is fanfiction so I acknowledge I’m being a slight hater. Love you tho girl.

"Not dying is not the same as being alive."
This little novella packs a punch. I've often told myself that if I knew a child dying of cancer, I would give them Harry Potter to read. Ultimately, the Harry Potter series boils down to accepting and facing death rather than running from it. Do Not Go Gentle takes it a step further and shows just how exhausting and unheroic that choice can feel.
She gets it. She really gets it. The scenario Hermione and Snape are put into feels realistic and within their characters' true ranges. To me, this is the only plausible circumstance that could lead to them being paired up and it works well thanks to senlinyu's writing and storytelling.

SenLinYu did it again- angst with a happy ending indeed.
I was in the mood for a change of pace after the multitude of Dramione fanfics I've been reading, and this did not disappoint.
I will admit to being woefully unprepared (even with the tags) for that second to last chapter. I breezed into the book, thinking I could handle it- it's only 10 chapters after all. Crashing out reading chapter 9 was not in my bingo card, but here we are. Wrecked once again by SenLinYu.

Mi primer fic! Y es de un ship que hasta ayer no sabía que existia. Quedé emocionalmente desvatada por un fanfic, ya complete la verdadera experiencia lectora.
Me da gracia todas las justificaciones que se hicieron para que podamos ver a Snape como un interés amoroso, pero compreee. Recomiendo si quieren leer un romance con el profesor, es un libro cortito pero el slowburn 10/10.
Ahora me siento preparada para leer Alchemised, voy a extrañar a Severus :(
Pd: Lo raro de la experiencia fue que yo no lei ningún libro de hp, asi que ni idea que si estaba en los libros y que no, pero me hizo odiar a todos los amigos de Hermione, amigos falluta 🤬 no hay que confiar en hombres (excepto snape 🥰)

i rewatched the entire harry potter series during break w the fam. as a result, the decade-old wizardry brainrot is coming back, and i need to CONSUME more content before i even THINK about the megaliths that are on the spring sem. lit hum syllabus.

i’ve never liked or entertained the idea of snape and hermione having a relationship so i tried to go into this as neutral as i could and honestly i didn’t really know what to expect. but i can tell you now, after reading this that i think SenLinYu struggles, or at least struggled either with exploring the depths of her characters. there is barely any development in her characters in most of her fics and this was unfortunately not the exception. ive noticed it since manacled and ifs hard to look past or avoid once you notice it. a tiny part of me thinks that if we had seen that here this could be redeemable but it’s honestly just a no for me now, sorry

reread after a long time, it’s still the best of Snape x Hermione for me, but I haven’t read many of those so I’m not the best judge probably (i’m not the biggest fan of this pairing ntg, but I loved this fic and I’m convinced that everyone would have to appreciate this story). I’m also convinced that everything that comes up from this author’s pen is perfect so there’s that.

Aside from Manacled, this is the only other fanfic that has left me emotionally wrecked.
This story is another SenLinYu masterpiece that takes place after the War - both Hermione and Snape survived, but Hermione finds out that the wounds inflicted on her by Bellatrix were cursed and that she only has a year left to live. She still wants to complete her studies (rather than spending her remaining days at St. Mungos) and so she opts to stay at Hogwarts while Snape, who enjoys a good challenge, offers to help her find a cure.
This is a forced-proximity, age-gap, dark romance (with some smut, of course). But at it's core, it's a story of Hermione grappling with her terminal illness and trying to find the will to fight and live. The depiction of her chronic pain, the painful treatment sessions, the futility of the experimental treatments, and her dwindling hope were detailed so vividly. My heart was constantly breaking and re-breaking for her.
This is the second SS/HG fanfic I've ever read. It's not a coupling that I thought I'd like but it worked so well in this case, I'm obsessed now.
At this point, I can confirm that SenLinYu is a master of depicting emotional turmoil and writing stories about trauma-bonded characters.

I Love love loved it! I’ve read some hermione x snape but it was part of the reverse haram, this was my first proper relationship of their’s. And it was so well written!! Their relationship building and dynamic was so well thought out and believable! As a dark romance reader the 20 year age gap, student x grumpy teacher thing had me rolling🤌🏼✨

Essa autora escreve muito bem, e eu gostaria que esse livro fosse maior, mas mesmo ele sendo pequeno, ele ainda entrega tudo! Começar a ler fic de Hermione e Snape é complicado, tem um impacto inicial porque a gente imagina os atores e a diferença de idade, personalidade, tudo! Mas quando você pega um livro como esse, que consegue ir com calma e nos dá um bom contexto para que tudo aconteça, é um caminho sem volta! Eu não dou mais estrelas porque ele é muito curto e porque eu precisava ver mais coisas no final do livro, eu queria mais!

SenLinYu might as well took a peek into my mind and tailored this dark age-gap romance between Hermione and Snape for me. Always love a good representation of chronic illness. This is the comfort read I didn't know I needed.
