Labyrinth of Broken Vows

Brielle
For years, I suffered in silence, a caged bird under my husband’s cruel hand, my wings clipped and my spirit shattered. Then the King of the Maze came for him—and everything changed. He didn’t just summon me to his labyrinth; he challenged me to step into the darkness, to uncover the strength my husband tried to bury. I thought he was the monster in this story. But maybe he’s the monster I’ve been waiting for—the one who will set me free.

Thorne
I’ve watched her from the shadows, witnessed every tear she shed for a man who never deserved her. She was never his—she’s always been mine. The Maze was just the beginning, a test of the strength I already knew she possessed. Now that she’s here, I’ll start a war to keep her. My queen. My salvation. My obsession.

I loved the premise of this book.

It started off strong with Brielle navigating life with her abusive husband, it immediately had me hooked and desperate for Thorne to come in and save her. Her connection with the bookshop owner was also a sweet, grounding touch. And let’s be honest, I’m always a sucker for a man who falls first and falls hard. ❤️

Where it lost me:
The pacing felt more suited to a stand-alone novella, but the story itself was too heavy and layered to be rushed like that.

I was all in… until around chapter 3, when it suddenly felt like someone hit the fast-forward button. Scenes started jumping, important moments between characters were cut short, and key emotional beats were missing. It made it difficult to stay invested or fully connect with the characters, and the worldbuilding really suffered because of it. The pacing continued to fluctuate, which kept pulling me out of the story.

Honestly, this has all the bones of a fantastic book if it had more time to breathe. With deeper worldbuilding, stronger emotional development, and a bit more length, this could’ve been something truly incredible.

But as it stands now, it reads more like an early draft than a finished product.

3.5 ⭐️ *no spoilers*
I was gifted this ARC for an honest review 🥰

Really enjoyed this book, more than I thought I might! The FMC is likeable and you see her go from trapped and feeling helpless and lost to strong (physically), independent and fierce. MMC Thorne is witty, utterly obsessed with the FMC and all the stuff we love from an MMC.

I felt like in parts the plot was a bit quick? It jumped from one thing to the next and I was like wow, for example I felt Brielle and Grom went from not knowing each other to friends who would risk theirs lives for each other in the span of 2 pages? Also it was said it would take a few days to get through the maze but again that felt like a couple pages , Villiana felt like a blur also, I would’ve liked to get to know her and some backstory a bit more! I felt like the book could absolutely have been a bit longer, maybe 400-500 pages? Hence my 3.5⭐️

Overall, the plot was great! Everything I love in a dark fantasy romance, loved the dynamic between the characters, I even found myself caring about smaller characters such as Alaric. I also devoured this book in 24hrs so that says something! I found myself loving the dynamic between Brielle and Thorne, I loved how fierce she was with him and how obsessed he was with her, I also loved how Brielle transformed from being scared and feeling helpless to feeling empowered and strong and more sure of herself.

I’d recommend if romantasy is your cup of tea! It ticked a lot of my boxes!

Thanks Millie Moon for the ARC!

This is a sweeping story about resilience and the ability of love to change a person. Overall, I love the idea of this and the setting of the labyrinth.

This is one of those rare books where I actually feel like it would be better if it was longer. I personally felt as though some of the character and relationship development was too fast, with the relationships especially escalating to close levels after a single conversation (Villinia and Thorne specifically, though I'm less so concerned with Thorne).

The story itself is fast paced so in some ways I understand but in this instance I think the story would still be moving with greater attention on the relationships and characters. Even our heroine Brielle makes flux capacitor level leaps in her independence with very little direct conflict to spur it.

My second piece of feedback was that the main battle occured at about 75%, which in the context of the story makes sense. But the last 25% is essentially conflict free and one long attempt to tie up loose ends and finally deliver on the sexual tension of the rest of the book so for me, the come down from the climax was more of a sheer drop than a gradual slope.

With all that being said, I did enjoy the story and plot and will be looking to read Millie's other writings in the future.

Heavy on plot with a little sprinkle of spice.

Brielle has dealt with so much already and it gets harder before it gets better. Thorn is a shadow daddy and a golden retriever, but saves the latter just for her.

I didn’t expect the majority of the turns this story took, it definitely kept my interest from start to finish.

I’d consider this book a very light grey compared to what I normally read but there are still triggers.

I received an early copy and this is my honest review.

this was a 3.75 for me for most of the book but there was this one scene towards the end that got me emotional so that gave it a bump. If you get me teary-eyed you get a bump.

I think this was a great concept and the writing was well done as well. I was super excited to read this because Labyrinth retelling sign me up. I liked the characters a lot as well but then I realized in the last 25% of the book that the main characters had no interaction in person up to this point and all there had been where whispers to her mind through his animal companion and he had just spied on her. I am usually okay with this but I wish there had been some pop ins so I could get more one on one interaction between them and get the rising tension and attraction better. Even in the labyrinth there were several incidences were Gareth popped into mess with Sarah. Now I get it a different story and I loved all the elements I did see but for me with slow burns I need the tension to keep me engaged with the romance aspect. It makes me wonder if this book would have been better if it had been a little longer and we could see them interacting together and maybe together they could then fight back the evil that has taken over the maze. All this is of course personal preference.

I loved the MMC Thorne who has been watching Brielle and sees the horrible situation she is in with her abusive husband so he sets about kidnapping her husband and putting her through trials so that she can see that she is stronger than she thinks and can grow and become the strong queen he knows she can be. This was an idea and think it was carried out a little but there weren't very many trials and the trials that there were she had a companion there to help her so she while she did get put into situations where she was challenged, she still always had someone there who usually took the brunt of it. Again, with a longer novel I think there could have 1) been more trials and 2) she could have been forced to rely on herself and see how strong she really is especially after everything she endured at the hands of her husband.

Overall, enjoyed the concept and the characters but I think this book could have benefitted with being a little longer so we could delve into certain areas more to really make the key points of this book shine.

This book is about Brielle who is just trying to endure and survive her life with her husband who abuses her and keeps her at home like a caged bird for her protection he says. Well one day her husband and some other knights are sent into the Labyrinth to take on the King of the Maze. But her husband is taken captive by the King, and she is in a panic because how will she survive without her husband. That is until the King issues her a challenge to come and rescue her husband. As scared as she is she decides to enter the labyrinth and try and bring her husband home. Little does she know Thorne has been watching her for a very long time and knows that she is stronger than she thinks and just needs the right set of pushes for her to see it too. With every test she will become stronger and see that she wasted all those tears on a man who did not deserve her and that she truly belongs to me and for her I will start a war for my obsession, my woman, my queen.

SPOILERS 3.9999 stars! I received an Arc for my honest review! An insta love, he falls first gray romance set in a fantasy land of past...I kind of envisioned where Belle lived from Beauty and the Beast for the town. The maze was harder for me to visualize as Thorne had a large army he had to march through the maze..are the aisles really that wide??

I have to say that some parts felt rushed, especially their connection. I wish it had been explained more as Brielle was so confused that he loved her up until they see each other, and then it all just snapped into place instantly. Would have liked a paragraph or more about the feelings and connection ("thread") that bonds them. The death of Henry by her hand was satisfying. The spice was good 💖

The only part about the writing style I did not enjoy was that there seemed to be so many commas - especially in the first half of the book - to the point where many sentences were too long. Run on sentences and only using commas as punctuation can make the book feel longer than it is. Otherwise the pacing was okay! I agree with other reviewers that the book could have been longer. I can only speak for myself, but I've read the 500 to 700 page books and if the world and character building is top notch then it doesn't feel like a chore.

I did not understand the twist of the Mom being the crow. They didn't explain HOW it happened after, unless I missed it???? Just that she died, turned back into a human so everyone knew who she was, and that they'll give her a proper burial. I also did not understand the relationship that Grom had to Brielle. It did not seem special enough for him to accept her as queen right away and go to battle when he was already wounded..I wish there had been more bonding, sharing trauma stories, anything!

The premise is really cool and something special! But it definitely needs fleshed out and expanded more. The characters are unique and this retelling has so much of its own creativity. Loved the spice!!!!

I was fortunate enough to receive an eARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

3.5/5 stars, but bumping it up because it’s closer to 4 than a 3.

I went into this expecting a romantic retelling of the Labyrinth where our boy gets the girl. I was not disappointed. The atmosphere that Millie creates is there at your fingertips and she creates wonderful characters to go along with it. You want to hug Brielle and keep her close, while also drool over Thorne, who is deliciously fierce and protective.

Brielle is our FMC who is currently trapped in an abusive marriage. Until one day her husband is captured by the Maze King and she’s given a chance to save him. Afterall, he’s the one who provides for their household, keeps a roof over Brielle’s head. How can she live without him even though she’s abused? She decides to take the Maze King’s offer to venture into the maze to save her POS husband, but mostly to prove to herself that she can do it.

I’ve got to agree with a few other reviews- this book could have been a bit longer. I feel like a few relationships were a little too quick and there's so much more of the maze I wanted to explore with Brielle- I thought it all happened too quickly. I also feel like Brielle’s love for Thorne was earned too quickly. Maybe it’s just cause I’m into the drama, lol. Also- Villina I felt was almost an unnecessary character? I wish we could have had more time with her, honestly.

I’m a sucker for beautiful prose and there were sentences in this book that had me highlighting and saving, and I’m not a huge annotator or highlighter. Some of my favorites include,

“‘A pretty face is a dangerous thing to have,’ I thought bitterly. It draws in predators like moths to a flame, igniting desires they believe they have a right to claim.”

“ “Better than a bitter, discarded woman playing make-believe on her throne.” “

“He chuckled, amused, “I said I’d help you find the path. I never promised to walk it for you.”

Overall, i think this book is definitely worth the read and I’m very happy this book could be my first ARC.

I loved the Jim Henson's Labyrinth movie, so I jumped at the chance to read a dark romance novel inspired by that movie. And this book didn't disappoint, while there were definite flavors from the movie, it was still a unique plot line with some unexpected twists. Overall, I would consider this book to be a slow burn dark romance as this book has darker tones - the MMC is morally grey, the FMC is a victim of domestic abuse (not between the main characters), and there are death scenes. While this is an open door romance, those scenes wouldn't be considered dark.
The book is told from two POVs, Brielle, the FMC and Thorne, the MMC and Maze King, which helps add nuances to the plot. The character development of Brielle was so staisifying - the reader is able to see her transform from someone who is fearful and feels caged by her husband to a women who embraces her strength and refuses to back down. Plus the build up between Brielle and Thorne was spot on, I adored that Thorne fell first and Brielle, at first, fights against her attraction. But then when Brielle gives into her feelings, there is no stopping their attraction; while not overly spicy, readers where not left guessing or wanting more.
I really enjoyed this book and am excited to see what is next for Millie Moon.

When I saw this was a Labyrinth retelling I had to read it. Labyrinth is obsession of mine that I have been looking for a book dupe for. I’m also getting major beauty and the beast vibes. This book was good. I wish it was longer, it felt rushed at some parts. The plot was fun. I also enjoyed Brielle and Thorne. I loved that Thorne was obsessed from the start.

It's quite an interesting storyline but somewhat rushed for what the author is trying to portray. The MFC goes from being an abused weak woman with no training to suddenly being able to fight her way thru a dangerous maze, slay monsters and conquer all her fears in a forenight, all to encourage the reader to see her growth and strength but the plot is not expanded enough for these actions to be believable. I think given some development and additional plotting/expansion, it could be quite a fanstatic book, but right now, it just doesn't quite hit the mark.

I’m not a HEA girl, haven’t been in a while but this book right here has definitely changed that. I can’t wait to read what else this author has in store for us. The chemistry, the plot, the world was everything to me. It was definitely something I didn’t know that I needed. Something tragic to turn into something absolutely beautiful

I really loved this book. It has adventure, love (lost and new), friendship, and a HEA 🥹

The Maze King, Thorne, would do 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 for his she-wolf, Brielle 🥹

I also thoroughly enjoyed the side characters; Villina, Lord Thacket, and Grom.

PS- there’s a throne scene 🫠😈

Waste of time. The characters spell everything out for you like you're mentally impaired. The story and its heroes feel like they're made out of cardboard and are just as deep. 90% of the time the mmc acts like an enraged toddler - please, have some dignity. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother.

This book is very good. I feel like it could be fleshed out. A little longer. More details added. More descriptive. Especially the spicy. I’m not sure if the details were kept back to make it less spicy or what. Spicy at the very end but not dirty. The spice scene at the very very end is more descriptive. But the plot was great. I followed Brielle throughout her journey. She really grew. I wish there were more details of her throughout the maze. I wish she had a longer adventure in the maze. But the way her light and goodness drew people on. They couldn’t help but follow her. I do love how she claimed her power at the end. The last chapter was the ultimate happy ending. I won’t spoil it but it’s well deserved. So pleased. I hope for a short story in the future with a look into their future life. She deserves the most happiness.

Thank you to Millie Moon for this free ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved this book. The story is dark but it pulls you in and keeps you wanting more, needing to know what happens next. A diverse range of characters - some you hate and others you grow to love. A broken woman who feels worthless thanks to her abusive husband finds herself in a labyrinth at the hands of the possessive and obsessive Maze King, Thorne. He will stop at nothing to make Brielle his Queen and worship her as such. This book will break your heart while simultaneously warming your soul.

Ultimately, this book is a deep exploration of strength, obsession, and the complexity of human relationships. It’s a dark romance that will likely appeal to fans of intense, character-driven stories that explore the edges of love and power. If you're looking for a gripping, emotional rollercoaster, Labyrinth of Broken Vows will undoubtedly live rent-free in your mind long after you turn the last page. Highly recommended for those who enjoy dark romance with deep emotional and psychological layers.

This book is a must read for 2025! I was lucky to get an arc copy and i am absolutely loving every minute. Minutes turned to hours without me even realizing it.

I savored reading this book. I absolutely enjoyed every second of reading this. For fast readers it will be an easy four hour read. For slower readers like me it takes about six or so hours. Now to the good part.

I loved Brielle, her transformation into the Queen she became. It was heartbreaking to read her beginning start. Though i know with survivors it takes time and someone willing to help break them from the world they think they are stuck within.

Henry is a accurate representation of a cowardice man, who thinks he can own someone. I loved when he got captured. Serves him right!

Now, now King Thorne, he was a cute little reprieve. Knowing just what to say and do. I loved how it went down. When he crawled to her man, that got me.

I highly recommend anyone who even runs across this book to definingly read it.

This book had me from start to finish!! I couldn't have asked for a better story. This book is definitely lighter than what I typically read but holy wow it was so amazing. I can't wait to read more from Millie in the future. Apart from having me in a chokehold I can 100 percent say that this is the perfect book to get lost in. King Thorne was amazing and Brielle was so strong minded, I love them so much! And of course, I can't forget the big middle finger to Henry.

OH WOW! Thank you so much for the ARC Millie x

This was one fast paced & STEAMY romance book that exuded so much sexual tension. A re-telling of Labyrinth but with a dark twist! Enemies to lovers? Bow down & crawl to me but he’s the one crawling🤭

Brielle (FMC) is perceived to be weak & heavily abused by her husband who enjoys throwing his weight around. He keeps his wife caged & locked away from the prying eyes of other men. She’s the woman every man wants simply due to her beauty. Her husband has made sure that she’s entirely dependent on him & enjoys taunting her, telling her that she has nowhere else to go & wont be able to survive without him.
She becomes so used to being the damsel in distress that she sits there taking all the abuse because being a good wife was drilled into her from her adolescence.

However, this all drastically changes once her husband sets off on a mission given by his King to kill the monster that resides in the Labyrinth & eradicate the filth. In this mission her husband is captured & Brielle sets off to save him. Brielle must tackle a treacherous maze in hope to save her tyranny of a husband from the clutches of the dark, possessive King who resides there. King Thorne (our MMC) exudes power, authority, & is feared. He will bow down to no one BUT her. The light to his darkness. Will she save her husband or will she fall in love with the monster???

Yeah not at all for me. I was excited for the MMC being the one to crawl and be on his knees for the FMC but the characters are so goddamn annoying. He doesn’t even sound like a villain. The MMC sounds like a creepy pervert teenager that gets off on stalking. The FMC is so whiny. I just can’t. It felt very wattpad and not in a good way

1. I barely got through this book and almost DNF’d it. I didn’t like a single thing about it.
2. The plot felt extremely rushed and I often found myself going back a page or two to see if I missed anything, as I felt like the story kept skipping ahead abruptly. It was poorly written and felt very Wattpad-coded.
3. I believe this is an attempt at a dark romance story, but unfortunately it’s a failed attempt. Thorne is genuinely unhinged, not in the attractive way many morally-grey characters are in typical dark romance stories. He has a horrible personality and is insufferable. He’s practically the same as Henry, they’re both abusers.
4. Brielle is clearly traumatised and blind to the truth because of her unhealed trauma. She just fell for the first person who showed her kindness and desire, because she’d never been treated with anything other than cruelty by a love interest before. I also believe Stockholm Syndrome is at play here.
5. None of the characters had any depth to them, all were boring and unlikeable. I didn’t feel connected to or interested in any, not even Brielle.
6. I had high hopes for this story as I was told it was an interesting retelling of The Labyrinth, but I was sorely let down. Rounded up to 2 stars purely because I managed to not DNF because I did want to see how it all ended, though the ending (and the whole story to be honest) was very predictable.

An excerpt from the story that made me physically cringe and almost made me DNF: “Henry’s cries only made my cock harder” …🫠

Very disappointing. I preordered it because I’m a huge fan of Labyrinth and devour any retelling I can, but this book was clearly not ready to be published. It’s full of typos, purple prose, run-on sentences, unnatural descriptions, and way too many similes and metaphors per page. The dialogue is stiff and unnatural. At times, it almost seems to have that “ran through ChatGPT for editing” feel that some AI-written passages have. Actually, the more I go back and read it, the more I’m convinced that the author relied on AI to write large sections of the book.

After the following excerpt, I was already ready to DNF this book, but kept reading hoping it would get better. It didn’t.

The wooden sign swung gently in the breeze, the letters faded but welcoming. Pushing open the door, I was greeted by the familiar chime of the bell above, a soothing sound that I never got tired of . Inside, the air felt thick with stories waiting to be discovered, the smell of parchment and leather wrapping around me like a favorite blanket.

Alaric emerged from behind a towering shelf, his bright eyes crinkling with delight. He was a short man, almost gnome-like, with wisps of white hair that seemed to dance in the air. “Ah, Brielle! Back so soon?” he exclaimed, his voice warm and inviting. “Have you finished that book already?”

“Oh, Alaric, I adored it, yet sometimes these worlds and their characters feel like such a tease. I know they are mere fiction, and while I revel in their tales, a lingering ache remains once I close the book. It’s the unfair truth that I cannot leap into the pages and dwell among them, to lose myself in their lives, forever escaping this reality.”

I’m not leaving a one-star review to be mean to the author. I genuinely hope that she continues writing and trying to improve, and that she uses less AI next time (although I only have a strong suspicion that she uses AI since it’s impossible to prove). And if she did use AI, it’s very disappointing to see so many five-star reviews.

This could have been so much better with content editing and expanding. I'm not talking about rewriting the entire book but there definitely needed to be more than 235 pages to build a story and create these characters. It feels like the author leaned too much on the expectation that only people who watch the movie, Labyrinth, would read this and would know who the characters were at their core. There wasn't any building of Brielle and certainly none of Thorne.

The dialogue was also uncomfortably written. It used inflections that felt too modern and didn't fit with the fantasy landscape. There's no telling what the inspired time period is but there are knights in metal armor, cobbled streets, and apparently no protections for battered women, so not modern day. There wasn't anything that screamed modern vernacular, but it also didn't feel pre-industrial age like everything else.

I have no idea what the magic system is, by the way. I don't know how the world really works. I don't understand how the Maze is separate but still adjacent (maybe) than the kingdom Brielle came from. I don't understand why people sang songs about Brielle's beauty in taverns. There were just so many plot holes that were never explained. Also, Thorne's mother being mentioned out of nowhere was so weird. I had to go back and see if I missed something (I had not.)

Anyway, not for me. I didn't obsess over Labyrinth and even this feel far short from my hopes.

FOUR ‘NEED-ME-A-KING-THORNE!’ ⭐️’s!!

Well— wasn’t that just a little bit delicious!!

This one had a fast moving plot that had me engaged for the most part and had all the things…
-Action
-Romance
-A FMC finding herself
-Obsession
-Smidge of spice
-Little bit of stalky stalk
-A-freaking MAZE!

There were a lot of moving parts, and I really liked that… I wasn’t expecting this to be something that would engage me as much as it did l, and even though there are some things that I perhaps feel weren’t quite tied up for me— this book still feels a bit like I just read something pretty special.

Heck, I can even forgive most of my small little complaints just remembering how well this world, and its characters were set up by the writer, sucking me right in!

BUT — I do think this one could have been longer! I feel the book being just a little longer would do it a better justice, and in doing so it would likely have ironed out most of little kinks of complaint I had.

But, all in all — I really bloody liked this and I’m excited as all heck to see what Millie Moon has in store in the future… I mean, this is her debut!
HER DEBUT!!
You just know it’s only going one way, and that’s UP!

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review— which I’ve supplied via Goodreads using an opinion that is solely my own.

Kindle Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️

"For those who fell under the spell of Bowie's gaze in Labyrinth, dreaming of a world just beyond the ordinary, where magic, mystery, and shadows intertwine This is for everyone who wished to step into the Labyrinth and never look back. "

If you like Labyrinth (Jareth is my first crush and where it all began ❤️🔥), then you may like this retelling. This is a quick, easy read (around 240 pages) that is fast-paced and not too deep. Thorne is our hot maze king who is obsessed and in love with Brielle. She is in an abusive relationship with her husband Henry. He treats her pretty awful, and it's not easy reading. Through her journey through the maze, she finds herself, gains confidence, and gets the HEA she deserves.

This book felt more like a novella, but there was too much crammed in, and characters came and went very/too quickly. I felt it could have been a bit longer to flesh it out a bit more. There are a few typos, etc, hanging around, too.

But I still enjoyed myself it was sweet, I enjoyed the story and was pleased that Henry got what he deserved in the end 😈.

This is a slow 🔥 burn, and the spice 🌶 kicks in at around 80%.

I think this indy author has potential and will keep an eye out for her in the future 💗.

Resilience, determination and the Labyrinth King

This is a quick read with a lot going on. I actually would have loved it to be longer. There are so many relationships and characters I'd have loved more from. I really enjoyed the story but could have used more.

The FMC is treated like garbage by her husband. She wants more and struggles to try and find more within the limitations (or slightly outside of the) provided by the husband. He doesn't want her to be anything more than his compliant toy.

The labyrinth is known for its brutality. People enter but never come back out of it. The Labyrinth King is known for his his tricks and deadly labyrinth. However Thorn is super soft for our FMC. He always knew she was to be his but didn't think she would ever choose him so he just watched her. He is only soft for her and by soft I'm talking squishy fuzzy baby kitten soft.

The adventure that happens in this is fast paced and detailed though it doesn't feel like there was enough conflict to get the FMC to where she ended up.

I really adored some of the side characters and you really get to know everyone's personality.

This is my honest review from an Advanced copy. This was an incredible read that had a lot of emotional turmoil and and tackled important mental health issues and DV. I love the character transformation yeah it’s not just growth it was honestly beautiful and riveting to say the least. The plot was beautiful and complex about a woman who abused in every way by her husband and when he’s called away away to a visit with the maze king and once he doesn’t return she becomes strong and brave and ventures into the maze to find him but instead she finds herself. I do wish it was a tad bit longer so we could get more detail but over all I loved this book. I will be buying a physical copy.

beautiful story

This book hit home for me in more ways than one. For starters the FMC and I share the same name which was a pleasant surprise as I only ever met three other Brielle’s in my life. Secondly her journey of overcoming her abuser is one I know all to well unfortunately. So I could relate to her. I loved the story so much. Although, I do wish we got to see more of a dynamic from Grom and Villina. The ending was adorable and in my opinion, I couldn’t be happier with how wholesome it was. Overall, I do wish the story was a bit longer only because I enjoyed it so much I just wanted MORE. lol. Loved it, chefs kiss!

DNF at 5%. The concept was genius. A sexy romance retelling of Labyrinth? With a woman needing to escape an abusive relationship? So damned compelling!

But in the 5% I *did* read the dialogue went from stilted and unnaturally formal to casual all within a page. Verb tenses would switch between present and past… sometimes in the same paragraph. There were many, many instances of that.

The (sole) 1 star review I read kind of hit the nail on the head: in 5% it’s kinda giving uncanny valley/AI assisted. This is not an accusation. But it *is* a critique of the writing. I really hope this author puts it through another round of editing because there’s so much potential.

I truly enjoyed this book and liked the concept. I loved the Labyrinth movie so of course I needed to read this book. I loved the characters and I like how the FMC gains strength after serving such a horrible relationship.

I just wish that the ending matched the tension and scenes leading up to it. I felt like there was so much spice and smut promised in the beginning when the two characters finally met up and by the end, I felt like it was lacking. I was waiting for an unhinged, feral scene based on his earlier words of promise to her abusive husband.

All in all, it was a really good read! I bought this on pre-release because I was so excited!
