Nightcrawler

Rate this book
I’ve always been a sucker for a guy with muscles and a handsome face. If that makes me sound shallow, maybe I am. I’ve never had a real relationship, unless you consider the guys in my Marine Corps Recon unit. I had a great relationship with those guys. Yeah, yeah, I know we’re splitting hairs. These days, long after my retirement from active duty, the only kind of relationships I really do now are with fictional characters.

I love to read, and lately, I’ve been frequenting the pages of my favorite blog, Bestreads, to escape my real-life job, one I’m not very well suited for. One reviewer on there—Nightcrawler—absolutely slays me. He always makes me laugh, steering me clear of some of the worst trash out there when I’m not trying to earn money as a bounty hunter. Maybe someday the right man will come along, and he won’t simply be a book boyfriend.

Someday.

Lately, I can’t get intrigued by any of the guys I’ve met in bars. Hookups are becoming less and less interesting for me. I’m a reader and of late, I’m also a half decent reviewer. I write exclusively for a blog called Bestreads, working under the name of Nightcrawler and I’m not ashamed to admit, I try to make them funny. In my line of work as a recovery agent for a big insurance company, I’m finding my off hours much more pleasurable.

I think about my next review and my next blog post all the time. Whenever I put up a funny two-star review, I dream of the guy who might be at home reading it, but pretty sure the kind of man who reads me, is probably living in his mother’s basement. Still, I’m a romantic at heart. Someday I might just run into him in one of my stories.

Someday.

Nightcrawler is a fun and action-packed story with the rivals-to-lovers trope and two POC main characters. It is the first book in Patricia Logan's new Trackers series. And although it’s a spinoff of Logan’s Death and Destruction series, you don’t need to have read the earlier books. That said, if you’re familiar with Logan’s characters, you’ll enjoy the cameos and connections she weaves in.

Miguel is a retired Marine turned bounty hunter who’s down on his luck, while Raven is a successful insurance recovery agent with a sunny outlook on life. The two run into each other on a job, and sparks fly immediately, although not in a friendly way at first. Miguel is grumpy and moody with a no-nonsense attitude, while Raven is charming and loves to tease Miguel. But when Raven gets hurt during their second encounter, Miguel steps up to help and care for him.

Miguel and Raven may appear to be polar opposites, but as the two spend more time together, they start to see past their differences. And they realise they are surprisingly similar. Both are self-made men with emotional scars, although I would say Miguel’s past is especially rough. I feel his journey of learning to accept help and lean on others is the thing that adds depth to his character and the book. Meanwhile, Raven’s kindness and lighthearted teasing provides great balance to Miguel’s intensity.
As always, Logan mixes in a good dose of humour and snark that helps the story feel lighter despite some serious moments. The romance, although fast, builds steadily. Their chemistry feels natural, and when Miguel and Raven finally give in to their feelings, it’s really sweet.

I feel there are some loose ends regarding the cases Miguel and Raven were working on. Whether or not this is intentional laying the groundwork for a future book remains to be seen.

Like a lot of Logan’s book, this one is also a great mix of action, heat, and heart. And the promise of more adventures in the Trackers series has me looking forward to see what’s next.

I received a copy of this book from the author, and this is my unbiased review.

Nightcrawler is the first book in the new Trackers series. This is the story of Raven a recovery agent and Miguel(TRIGG) a bounty hunter, which are really the same thing. These two are so different but perfect for each other. Raven is such a sweet guy and Miguel is really grumpy but he has reasons for it. There are a lot of misunderstandings for these two to work through. I loved seeing friends from other series in this book. I also loved all the humor that came with Raven's book reviews as Nightcrawler. This was an amazing start to this series and I can't wait for the next book in the series. If you get the audio narration, Michael Dean does a wonderful job of narrating this book. He makes the change in characters seamlessly. I can't wait to listen to the next book he does. Any book that can make me laugh and cry is one I would recommend and this one did both. I would definitely recommend this as a 5 star read or listen.

This was one of those rare times where I listened to the audio without having read the book previously. I also haven't read this author's other contemporary works (I've only read all their PNR) and this audio made me want to go back and check them out. I was certain quite a few of the side characters that popped up were cameos from the other series, however I didn't feel like I missed anything crucial by not having read those books beforehand. This series opener can stand alone from the others in this same world in my opinion.

I really enjoyed getting to know Miguel and Raven. Each character was interesting in their own way and their rivals-to-lovers was a fun journey. On the surface they seem worlds apart, yet they share many common interests including their love of reading. Ravens alter ego as Nightcrawler was very amusing. His hilarious reviews of the most insane sounding books made me laugh every time. The narrator did a good job with these. They were a big highlight.

There were many sweet moments amid all the action. Migel being all adorable with his kitten Stanley and Raven's relationship with his grandmother. Of course there were sweet moments between the MCs too. And hot! These two men definitely have chemistry in spades. Some plot lines were left unfinished so I am assuming that means we will be seeing more of Raven and Migel in book 2. It was only mentioned at the start of their story, and I could be wrong, but I have a feeling a big expensive sparkly missing item may come into play in their future.

I loved this book! What a terrific start of a new series. Miguel and Raven are wonderful together and the chemistry between them was palpable. The addition of familiar characters only added to the story, however this book can be read without already having read the Death & Destruction series (although I can’t imagine anyone who is a fan of this author not having read them already!)

Can’t wait for the next book in this series!

This is not a good book. However, it did have a gimmick I sort of liked. Raven, under the username Nighcrawler, writes acerbic/comedic book reviews of dreadful indie-author books. There are 14 of these reviews in the novel. Would that these books actually existed in the real world because many of them sounded more interesting than this tale.

Raven is a recovery agent for an insurance company and is quite successful. He is something of a rival of Trig/Miguel, a former Marine Staff Sergeant who is working as a bounty hunter. Trig is so bad at the job that he is broke and about to be evicted for nonpayment of his rent when the story opens.

Despite being rivals, the two of them decide to do some breaking and entering to retrieve some heavily insured prosthetic breasts. In the process, Raven is shot in the side. Now, if they were in some sort of organized crime syndicate or something, I could understand what happens next. But they're supposedly legit, so it makes no sense whatsoever that they don't go to a hospital or report it to the police. No, they have a guy who used to be a military medic patch Trig up.

The story meanders from there. Trig and Raven start having sex while Raven is still recovering from an improperly treated gunshot wound. There's plenty of toxic masculinity to be had ("pussy" is used quite a bit). There's also some disparagement of an antagonist for being a somewhat feminine gay man.

Overall, I didn't find either of the MCs likable.

Nitpicks:

I don't expect novels to be written in formal, grammatically-perfect English, but some adherence to standards ought to striven for. Though not the worst I've seen for a book of this size, the novel sports a whopping 339 ellipses (most of these serve no purpose or should be some other punctuation mark). There are comma splices as well as failure to use commas when grammatically necessary. Also, "which" is used when "that" is required. Those are just a few examples of the grammatical errors in the book; there are many more. Nevertheless, I can say that this novel was free of "lie"/"lay" errors.

The novel contains two testicle malfunctions. By that, I mean descriptions of testicles performing feats actually performed by other body parts or else doing things that no body part can actually do. Granted, testicle malfunctions are quite common in erotic literature. However, it seems to me that if one is going to write a book that talks about what certain body parts do, then it is only fitting to bother looking up what said body parts actually do. Testicles do not "empty" during an orgasm or any other time because testicles do not make, contain, store, or pump semen. Sperm is not semen. Even at that, sperm have to mature in the epididymis for weeks before being mixed into semen. Sperm do not travel directly from the testicles to the semen during an orgasm.

Two men who are destined for each other - not that either of them recognizes it at first - meet in their line of work as competition, but the circumstances bring them together once again and they realize they are actually great working as a team. Slowly they realize that they have much more incommon than their line of work or sizzling attraction. Both of them are self made men. Not that things were easy for Raven but Miguel had it really hard and blows just keep coming. Looks like he's down on his luck. As a teenager he survived the unimaginably horrifying experience and he wouldn't have made it without found family. Looks like it's time again to swallow his pride and accept the help from strangers so freely offered with absolutely no strings attached. Looks like his found family just expanded. Enter here some characters we learned to love so much from Logan's Death and Destruction series. This can be read as a standalone, but I can guarantee that you'll want to read all about them.
The book is fast paced, hot, with added sprinkle of humor and they get their HEA, but I definitely want to read more because true adventure is just beginning. It could be another Death and Destruction if done right.
Now enter my 'Nightcrawler' review: What's with all the hugging? Grown man, or people in general, gay or not, just don't do that (mostly) in real life. In previous series I've read ( Interspecies response) it was handshaking - people don't shake hands every time they meet, especially if it's on a daily basis or even several times a day. So cut it down in the future. Pretty please! I was seriously considering of shaving one star just because of that, but I've enjoyed the book too much to do it.
So five stars for this book and the promise it brings.

Nightcrawler is the first book in Patricia Logan's new Trackers series. Looks like the series is off to a good start. It's connected to any earlier Logan series, one I haven't read, but it didn't affect my enjoyment. There are pop ins from the earlier series, but they were just secondary or tertiary characters in this story.
Miquel Huerta ('call me Trigg, don't call me Trigg), former Marine Recon Sergeant and current bounty hunter, is a bit of a grump. His greatest joys in life are his cat, Stanley, and the book reviews of his favorite blogger, Nightcrawler. Raven Mathis, recovery agent for an elite insurance company, is Miguel's opposite. Sunshiny, well off. He's also Miguel's favorite blogger.
They clash. Miguel loses a bounty to Raven and decides he hates him. Six months later, a bounty gone wrong, Raven is shot and Miguel takes him home and gets him patched up. Things move fast after that.
Roommates. Lovers. There's a low sizzle factor, but the tension was delish.
The bounty runs are exciting. The friendship that builds between the two was nicely developed. Good secondaries. Cassidy was a wonderful father figure. Lots of mini cliffhangers, probably slotted into The To Be Resolved Later column.
Raven's reviews weren't as amusing as Logan probably wanted them to be. Some were alright, but some fell flat. Less of that in the future books, I hope.
I'd give this book a 4.5 or 4.75. Patricia Logan isn't a perfect fit for me. But then her next book comes out and it'll sound good.
It's a mostly readable book. Fun and tender in spots. Good action build. Okay.... I admit it. I'm reading because Stanley is so cute.
I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my review.

Audio: 4 stars for Michael Dean, not the best from him, but still decent.
Book: DNF @54% so around 187 pages

I really wonder how "Nightcrawler" (Raven's bookreviewer name) would review this book... probably along the lines of: "A bounty hunter and a recovery agent get shot at while fake boobs pop off", or something along those lines...idk I am obviously not as witty as Raven, who's reviews were actually the only good part of the book haha.

Yeah, idk this whole lot of randomness happened in this book it was like you blink and we have moved on to the next thing. And don't even get me started on the relationship. While the beginning was fine when they disliked each other and couldn't get along, to after Raven was shot Trigg (Miguel) helped him get treated and bam within 24 hours Trigg was already falling for Raven. Felt like the biggest personality transplant I have ever read. And it would be annoying when Trigg/Miguel would get pissed after every nice thing Raven was doing for him, it was like "bro calm down".

I guess this was also a spinoff series, and you don't need to read that to pick this up.

Also, the number of times that Miguel, or any man would say that they aren't a "pussy" or "don't be a pussy" or anything like that was way more than I have read about in a long time. It got old fast, and like the Tow Yard employee (a woman who heard Miguel say he isn't a pussy) I will flip my sign of "Be Back in 15" because are we back in the 2000's?

All I can say is, that this book/writing probably isn't for me and I am not sure this author is for me. I have seen a lot of mixed reviews for almost all her books, and that should have been my first clue that this probably wouldn't be a good experience.

Miguel and Raven have a lot in common, they just go about things a little differently. Miguel is a retired Marine working as a bounty hunter and isn't very successful. He doesn't have family but he has some really good friends. He doesn't have much to smile about these days.

Raven is more successful. He has his grandmother, a good job as a recovery agent and also really good friends. He enjoys his life and thwarting Miguel.

When these two run into each other there's sparks flying. The tension is high and the chemistry is hot. Their first encounter goes to Raven. Their second encounter goes to neither and in the process Raven gets hurt. Miguel steps up to help him even though his world is falling apart. Over the next few days they each learn about the other. And thus a partnership begins. Now someone wants to cause trouble and they need their friends to step in and help.

I liked Raven from the beginning. He had a happy personality and loves to tease Miguel. I had a hard time with Miguel as he had such crazy mood swings, which lasted past the half-way mark. I also would've loved to have the two cases they both went for have an ending. They were left without a resolution. This is the beginning of a new series so I'm excited to see where these two end up. I really liked seeing that their friends turned out to be familiar to all of us Logan fans. Lastly the fake book reviews are seriously LOL funny! Definitely recommend this book.

Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Performance: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️️
Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️️

Being a fan of the author, I was really excited to read the new Trackers series starting with Nightcrawler. What can I say? I absolutely loved this enemies-to-lovers story!
It focuses on Raven and Miguel. Miguel is a former Marine who has had some bad luck and Raven is a successful insurance recovery agent. They are actually on opposite sides, but in the current case they spontaneously decide to work together, which is a good thing, because shortly afterwards the situation gets dicey.
The story is entertaining, with amusing sections, suspenseful and lots of action, just the way I like it.
It was a pleasure to follow the case and the development of Raven and Miguel. I really liked them both and the chemistry between them is definitely there.
Oh well, Raven loves to read and writes for a blog. The highlight of this story for me was Nightcrawler's humorously written reviews, which very often put a grin on my face.
Those who know the Death and Destruction series will be pleased to see one or two of the characters again, I certainly was.

Michael Dean narrated the audiobook and as always he did a fantastic job. I could tell the characters apart very well and Michael always manages to portray the emotions appropriately. He has a pleasant voice that I found easy to listen to! I'm already looking forward to the next volume!

I am so happy to be back in the world of the ‘Death and Destruction series’ with 2 brand new MCs! Miguel and Raven are both bounty hunters, who after fighting over the same case become huge rivals (at least in Miguel’s mind!) after Miguel loses out on a big day. Both men have deep emotional wounds which take working through, but Raven is the sunny golden retriever to Miguel’s grumpy black car which leads to a lot of their animosity. Amidst the backdrop of them continually going after the same bounties and butting heads, Miguel is caught up reading the reviews of a hilarious book reviewer named Nightcrawler. The books he reviews are absolutely hilarious and where Logan got the imagination from for these plots cracked me up, and also scares me lol

Thankfully Miguel and Raven eventually become reluctant partners on a case which leads to a wonderful love starting to bloom between them. I am looking forward to the deepening of their relationship as the series progresses, which is something Logan does so beautifully. I had a lot of fun with this one, and am looking to see what other crazy items they search for going forward.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

4 Stars!

Nightcrawler is the start of a new series for Patricia Logan and it's a pretty good one! I have to start by saying I loved Nightcrawler's (Raven's) reviews, they were hilarious and really set the tone for the book.

Miguel was a down-on-his-luck retired marine and Raven was a successful insurance recovery agent. They were rivals and Miguel didn't like Raven much at first. They were as opposite as they could, and yet, when Raven gets hurt, Miguel takes care of him and in turn, when Miguel needs help, Raven offers his readily.

While the attraction between Miguel and Raven was pretty swift and they fall in love pretty fast, it didn't feel rushed. They really worked well together and had chemistry in spades.

I loved their crew of friends, some of which we've met before, and I adored Raven's grandma. On the other hand, I hated Ned with a passion, and was very glad the whole thing with him wasn't dragged for too long.

Michael Dean's narration was top-notch as always. I was thoroughly entertained throughout the book with all the guys' shenanigans. LOL

The book was fun, fast-paced, steamy, and action-packed, there were a few things I felt were left in the air, but other than that, I have no trouble recommending it.

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

Miguel and raven find themselves crossing paths when Raven "steals" Miguel's bounty. Miguel is angry at him for that, but it doesn't stop him saving the man's life at another job. Raven calls to his soul.

I'm not really sure how I feel about this book, to be honest. It didn't really push my buttons but there were bits I liked.

I liked that both Raven and Miguel had a say, in the first person. Each change is clearly headed. But doesn't always come at the chapter change. Didn't bother me either way, but some might not like that, so needs mentioning.

I liked the steam level. Granted, it goes without saying I would have liked more steam but I'm not holding that against this book. I liked that the level was perfect for Miguel and Raven, given how Raven was injured early in the book!

I liked, to a point, the Nightcrawler reviews. They were funny, but I didn't read them all. Not sure why, but I skipped them after about half way through. I didn't really see what they added to the story, to be honest.

I LOVED the supporting cast. Miguel's mentor/friends were great, and add in their wider circle who came to help him with that last bounty, and my interest was well and truely piqued. I'm not sure if these guys have stories somewhere, but if they do, I wanna read them!

One last thing, I would have liked some closure on the boob heist 🙂 I'm not sure if I missed what happened to the porn star and her boyfriend, or we didn't find out, but I would have liked to have known what happened to them!

A quick look on shows me I've read a couple of Logan books and they weren't doing anything for me. This one, though, I think is one of the better ones.

3.5 stars but rounded up for the blog to 4 stars.

First in series (Trackers). POC representation. Rivals to lovers. Slow burn. Dual POV. Heed content warnings.

Miguel is a bounty hunter that has a run in with insurance recovery agent Raven and boy do sparks fly. When they end up competing on another job again and run into trouble, Migual and Raven learn a lot about each other, where Miguel is protective and caring and Raven is kind and compassionate.

What a really fun introduction to a new series with some cameos from some of the author’s favorite law enforcement series and unexpected connections between those familiar faces and the new characters of Miguel and Raven. Do Miguel and Raven move quickly into something serious, sure. Did it bother me, not at all. They are both likable characters, attracted to each other beyond just physical looks, and so dang sweet with each other. The only thing I was rooting for more was a big payoff for them, but I will happily take their instalove commitment and willingness to risk everything for each other. I definitely will hate waiting for more from this series. 4.5 rounded up

Patricia Logan roles out another great spin-off in her Death and Destruction Universe.
Miguel, former Marine Recon, is a bounty hunter. His sad, lonely life is imploding financially and losing a big payoff to a recovery agent has him at wits end.
Said recovery agent, Raven, is the thorn in Miguel’s side. When they crash into each other on a big payoff job they are shot and Raven is wounded. Miguel takes him home and gets a friend to sew him up. Raven is also a hysterical reviewer of terrible books who goes by the name of Nightcrawler. Nightcrawler is Miguel’s favorite reviewer. Raven’s sunny attitude soon breaks through Miguels hard shell, and a wave of insta-lust sends them in a new direction and they team up for Miguel’s next recovery which is a very dangerous felon. Call in the cavalry with appearances by a host of our favorite guys from the D&D world.
Lots of snarks and giggles in this one. Can’t wait for book two of Miguel and Raven coming soon. We love Patty giving us more in the D&D universe!

I knew going into this series opener set in the Death And Destruction world that it'd have all the working parts to make it entertaining: hot alphas in need of love and a little healing, action and humour. That all of these elements are so well executed makes Nightcrawler an absolute winner!

Miguel and Raven give great enemies to lovers, with a side of grumpy/sunshine. Miguel's down on his luck but once he gets over his dislike of Raven he does the right thing when they find themselves in a hazardous situation. Cue all the healing, both physical and emotional!

It's a fun plot with the recovery agent role being the source of the action - I can't wait to see what cases are in Miguel and Raven's future - and the humour actually had me laughing out loud. The Nightcrawler book reviews are genuinely so funny. And, of course, it wouldn't be the Death And Destruction world without cameos from our favourite ATFE agents, Jarrett and Thayne, and our favourite LAPD buddies Cassidy and Mike...we even get a bit of Mac Mac Mac... brilliant. I absolutely loved Nightcrawler - all the stars!

I loved the first book in this new series. The characters are interesting, and I liked that the MCs started as competitors, and definitely not friends, and then moved past that to lovers. The combination of drama, action, and humour makes for an enjoyable read, and I loved seeing some familiar characters from other books popping in to help.

The Nightcrawler part of the story is amusing. I loved the reviews of the really bad books, and am very pleased I never have to read them. I liked the progression of Miguel and Raven’s relationship, which felt natural, and that it had a good dollop of hurt/comfort.

Stanley is so cute, and he’s a total scene stealer.

The banter within the group working together is fun. I loved seeing Thayne, Jarrett, and Mac again, also enjoyed meeting Vonne. Raven’s nana is wonderful. I loved Mike and Cassidy’s connection with Miguel and their part in the story. The mix of old and new characters works well.

I’m looking forward to reading more of Miguel and Raven’s adventures.

Raven is an insurance recovery agent. Miguel is a bounty hunter. Both men basically doing the same job. One is just doing it better. (Might of been hate at first sight, but I think it was just foreplay) When they accidentally team up for a job that gets Raven seriously hurt, the walls start to crumble and yes, it is instalove.

I believe these two are the gentlest souls in all the authors couplings. Though this book had action, blood, and drama, it mostly felt like the sweet introduction of two new characters and a revisit with some old friends with all the snark intact. And Stanley was a welcome character along with Nana. Nightcrawler’s reviews are hilarious.

This author has been a staple in my library for a long time. I love her writing and she seems to be just as quirky as her characters.

I received an arc of this book.

Audiobook Review:
Overall – 5
Performance – 5
Story – 5

Fantastic start to a new series!

This book reads as a complete standalone but fans of Patricia Logan’s Death and Destruction series will enjoy visiting with familiar characters.

Nightcrawler is a great enemies-to-lovers story with lots of exciting action. The chemistry between Raven and Miguel was scorching hot. They get into a bit of hot water but I knew that Patricia Logan would get them their well-deserved HEA. I also loved the witty book reviews contained in this story.

The teaser for the next book was great and I can’t wait to read it.

I almost forgot to say what a great job Michael Dean did performing this book. His voice and Patricia’s writing make a great combination.

Bounty hunter Trigg and insurance recovery agent Raven meet while trying to capture the same man. It's their second meeting while going after the same item that sets this adventure rolling downhill fast. While parts of this book come off as an overly descriptive noir, the palpable chemistry between Miguel(Trig) and Raven drives this plot just as much as the action. Their backgrounds and similarities are brought out along with a group of friends that I can't wait to get to know better. Quite the page turner, I barely put it down till I finished with a happy sigh. More than happy, because there is a second book coming soon!

Nightcrawler by Patricia Logan is the first book in the new Trackers series. This new series is a spinoff of the Death and Destruction series, which I am a huge fan of.
Sparks fly when bounty hunter Miguel has a run in with insurance recovery agent Raven.
These two might seem like complete opposites but they actually have quite a bit in common. Raven is such a sweet guy and Miguel is really grumpy but he has reasons for it.
Thankfully Miguel and Raven eventually become reluctant partners on a case which leads to a wonderful love story and a well deserved HEA.
This story has lots of humor, snark and heat! I can't wait to see what comes next.

Miguel (Trigg) is a bounty hunter and he often reads reviews by his favorite reviewer Nightcrawler. He also competes for work and despises another bounty hunter who works for an insurance company, Raven. Raven is Navajo, gorgeous, intelligent and secretly is Nightcrawler. Miguel is intense, moody, a loner and honorable. The two strike sparks and soon work together. Like all of Patricia's books, you get immersed in the detailed, descriptive and infectious storylines. I totally enjoy all of her books and this one is equally absorbing. Great MC's, great plot, great book! I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

What a great start to a new series. Miguel is a bounty hunter who is on a job to recover a diamond. When the job gets taken by Raven, a recovery agent, Miguel is not impressed. Fast forward 6 months and they meet again on a new job. Miguel lost his family but has a great bunch of friends. Raven has his grandmother and the same set of friends as Miguel. When Miguel helps Raven after being shot, the story starts from there. This is a great enemies to lovers to more relationship. I love their dynamic and cannot wait for more.

Great start to a new series

I love Patricia Logan's books. They all have strong men who love hard and get themselves into crazy situations. With this book we meet Miguel and Raven. Both are recovery specialists (Miguel prefers bounty hunter) and have been known to compete for the same jobs. One of these jobs goes terribly wrong bringing them closer together. We have some friends from one of her other series come give a little backup when needed. I can't wait to see the adventures these two will have. Bring on book two. I highly recommend this book. Enjoy!

❤️🎧Narrated by Michael Dean who does fantastic vocals for all the cast characters in this.

Miguel Trigg 36 yrs worked for a bounty hunter agency. Working against Raven.
A mystery trying to find Trench and a missing diamond.
A great first meeting as Raven, 29 years runs into Trigg to his bounty. But the was in the past with the diamond still missing.
They remeet up again in another case where things get dangerous and a gun is involved. Raven gets hurt but Miguel saves the both by getting them out fast.
There is some bad tellings about Miguel’s past which left unsolved crime.
Two hot men face dangers solving cases of missing items but in the process fall in love.
I liked the start of the book and by the ending I loved the characters. I kinda grew a soft spot for Miguel as he struggles to make a living.
A case comes into Miguel's hands which Raven goes all concerned and wants to help. The guys from the authors Death and Destruction series join the action in this, which Id loved. Nightcrawler is a book reviewer which Miguel loves reading their reviews unbeknownst to him he already knows them. This was a different element in the book. I was undecided on my thoughts about them, although I did love the last review.
A great start to the Tracker series with this book.

𝙉𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙘𝙧𝙖𝙬𝙡𝙚𝙧 by Patricia Logan is a MM, action-packed story between a recovery agent and a bounty hunter. Features an emotional rollercoaster of epic proportions and a fast-paced, thrilling plot!

Miguel was a gruff ex-marine who wasn’t having the greatest luck. Raven was a successful recovery agent who went by Nightcrawler for his book reviews. That was definitely an interesting addition to the story!

Miguel was a bit abrasive and difficult to like. These two had a LOT of miscommunication and needed to work out things on their own first. Overall, not a bad read!

This book has more mood swings than a PSMing teenager.
From soft and sweet and almost maudlin - to raging lash outs - to teary falling apart (yep) to OMG - sooo many swings. (and not the fun type) The story is too Jekyll and Hyde, so there is no feel of consistency - but I stayed on course even though by 65% I was browsing other books. (Yes - I was contemplating cheating on Nightcrawler -by the way, why name the story after a worm?)
At this moment I am seriously contemplating a 2 as the climax parts of the story were more of a dribble than anything else. Big build up and .......... not much.

I always enjoy the action and intense plots that Patricia's men always find themselves in. This new series is no different, but I think what I really enjoyed the most was how touchy feely all these men were. They hugged a lot, expressing all their different emotions through physical touch. There is insta attraction but so much more going on to keep that going. Miguel is moody as all get out but genuinely cares for Raven. Raven loves egging Miguel on. Looking forward to more of this dynamic!
