This was a good fast paced debut novella by Lanette. I appreciated the fact that even though Gianna and Xander were the main characters, we got to see a little into their crews as well and what was going on with them in their own chapters. I liked the fact that all the characters in the group were successful in their own right but the guys still wanted to do for the girls when they didn't have to. It was nice that the guys and girls all got along well with each other and matched up well even if it was quick. They became their own little family which was cute. I do want to know who Khalil's connect was because he always came through with the last minute plans..lol. Kalvin was straight foolish and I was happy he got what was coming to him. Overall I enjoyed the book and I would be interested in catching up with this crew again.

What part of the world were these men birthed!! Lol.. These men were everything! A friend group of 4 men find and fall in love with four female friends, and with very little drama. I just wish each couple would've gotten the same details that the main couple got.

Let me start by saying, A MAN. A MAN. A MAN. A MAN!!!! Handsome, successful, wealthy, educated black men?!?! SIGN. ME. TF. UP!!!! I love how the men in this story catered & loved on their women!! Sophisticated men but don’t play with themmmmm, because the street ties are still very much present!! Xander handled Giana with the utmost care & love, which is exactly what she deserved!! I hope there are more books to come in this series because I need to know what happens with a few of those other characters 😅😅 interconnected stand-alones is fine with me 😅😅 10/10 would DEFINITELY recommend!!

solid read
This book was picked for our BOOKCLUB and my first read by this author overall solid read. I love the fact that the characters in this book had different careers and loved to have a good time. I like the vacations the characters went and the friend group.

I really enjoyed this!
When i was younger me and my group of girlfriends had convos like "girl, we are all gonna meet us someone and then our men will be friends and we can go on groups trips and hang out and have a good ole time" Well, it didn't happen for me, but it definitely happened for Giana!
After giving her college years and beyond to one man, she realized he was not what he claimed to be and not the man for her. She and her girls put on their Freakum dresses and headed to the club to celebrate being single and when her eyes locked on a tall chocolate man, she couldn't yet predict how the Universe had smiled upon her
after she and her three friends hung out with him and his three friends in their VIP section that night.
Xander had just finished up his residency, let go of his jump off and was ready to relax and mingle at the club. His eyes landed on a beautiful lady across the way and he just had to know her! He invited her and her friends to his section and before he knew it, him and his crew were headed to Mexico with the ladies to crash their girls trip.
Honey, I read this in one day, while working, and enjoyed every minute! Gianna was sweet and pretty and even though her heart was hurt she didn't give up on finding the love that was meant for her. Xander was focused and driven and even though he wasn't closed off to love he just knew it had to take a back seat while he pursued his career. This story shows that sometimes being in the right place at the right time really brings the blessings flying your way.
I loved the honest friendships created in this story where this ride or die crew just found their tribe and nurtured the connections that presented themselves.

Loved it!!
This was a really good read! I loved the fact that the groups instantly cliques with each other! Everyone was successfully in their own way! Giana and Xander chemistry was really great on page! I love a man who knows what he wants! He never pressured her into anything! Everything kind of flowed smoothly with them!
This book will give you great banter, touched on a lot topics that our community deals with like PPD and Family issues as well as how they were seeking help with it! This is a multiple POV which I loved and I liked that although it was about Giana and Xander book we always was able to get small glimpse of the other couples! Looking forward to seeing what’s next for this group!

Ms. Lanette come to the front
This book was sooooooo beautiful. What they say “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”😍😍 being with a man for 7years and he’s cheats. You and your friends meet some guys at the club and the rest was history. I cried in this book because I was happy for the turn outs as if they were my besties. Wish they would have killed the ex but that’s ok. I laughed so hard, when I say ride or dies, besties 4 lifers. Go read this book like stop what your reading to go enjoy love from men who appreciate their women and would give them the world and do. 1000/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND 🫶🏾😍🫶🏾😍

I liked it but…..
I know this was a debut and while I liked it overall I do have to say I wish this book would have focused only on Giana and Xander. I think the additional POV’s were distracting….and we didn’t really get to spend enough time with the other couples for their POV’s to add anything. I enjoyed the time we spent with Giana and Xander but I do wish we would have gotten to experience their conversations on page, I think that would have helped me connect with them a bit more. Also, the whole Kalvin thing wasn’t needed….especially if dirt wasn’t the resolution!!! This was a quick and easy read and I’ll definitely be reading from this author again!!!

All of the feels! I absolutely loved how Xander stood on business from the get go with meeting Giana. Giana-blindsided by her college sweetheart’s infidelity, knew she was not going to stick around and tolerate his foolishness. One night out with her girls, she bumps in to Xander & the rest is history. I loved how Giana’s friends, each found love in Xander’s friends as well. A group of men, loving on women… genuinely with respect… I’ll take all of them for 500 Alex! I cannot wait to see what’s next for this new author on the scene!

I really enjoyed this book! I loved that Gianna knew her worth and kept it pushing when it came to Kalvin. The fact that we get four love stories? Chef’s kiss! And let’s talk about the men—they applied pressure! They were so loving, supportive, and everything these girls deserved, plus more. The display of genuine friendship is one of my favorite parts of this book. Lanette, I cannot wait to read more from you!

The sweetest book!
I'm not really a review type of girl so this will be short and sweet. This book was like a breath of fresh air! All of the girls in the crew we able to experience pure love. Although the book focused on a main couple, I truly enjoyed the multiple POVs from the other couples. This book gave sisterhood, brotherhood, true friendship, love and a little spice. Whew, I'd read it again, because I was kicking my little feet and smiling the entire time.

This was a truly enjoyable read that captured my heart with its simple charm and likable characters. It's perfect for anyone looking for a light, feel-good book to relax with. This was a quick read,I could’ve finished sooner but I had to go back and reread some parts when the other characters chapters popped in. Congrats on your debut book, can’t wait to read book #2! I do agree with ok of the reviews if the focus was more on X & Giana the storyline would’ve possibly little better. All in all it was. Good read ❣️

This was such a nice, cute, almost too perfect read lol! I appreciate how quick of a read it was along with the great plot! Now there were some imperfections which is okay but that’s why I gave 4 stars. It is honestly a good read…if you’re interested just do it! I smiled a ton throughout the book. I can confidently say I would read it again & I am not one to re-read a book! I want part 2!!!

This is one of those stories that you wish you could live in (without the trash ex-boyfriend, of course). An attractive, young, ambitious friend group running into another attractive, young, ambitious friend group and everybody seems to find their perfect match. It was a face paced love story that didn't really focus on one character. It actually went through the lives of all the couples and their different approaches to their budding relationships.
This was a solid read for the author's first book and I am looking forward to her future books.

I understand that this was a debut novel for the author so I’ll just say that the writing style and I did not mesh well together. I like the premise of the story, but I just wasn’t able to finish it.
