Fans of Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark and Gena Showalter’s Lords of the Underworld will devour the electrifying romance and pulse-pounding action in this latest installment of the Fallen Guardians. Steamy, emotional, and dangerously addictive. 18+
Georgia Lyn Hunter loves to create characters who’ll take you to the far and beyond to unforgettable adventures, steamy encounters and heart-stopping love stories…
She grew up in the tropical climate of South Africa and currently lives abroad with her family.
I somehow return to Georgia's books at the end of the year and it's just my luck she released a new book. So I spent my New Year's reading Fallen Embers and totally forgot about eating grapes under the table, which I'm okay with.
I liked Fallen Embers, maybe not as much as GLH's other books. That was mostly because of Nia. She was immature and too mercurial for me to completely fall in love with her. The only time I really liked her was when she was with Lore. Her love for him made her likeable to me. I even enjoyed the banter they had going on.
I absolutely loved Lore. He seemed so cold before Nia, but he's such a cutie. I loved his curiosity in life, and um, ahem, bedroom activities with Nia😛
Although this series is about Greek Mythology, I see GLH has taken inspiration from Hindu mythology too. Nik's mother was a Hindu goddess, Saia and Brenna were half-indian or of Indian origin. The Bakasura (type of a demon) is a big part of Hindu mythology. Lore also uses Arabic endearments for Nia which I found very cute.
Though I liked Fallen Embers and finished it just a week ago, it didn't really impress me that much and I don't remember everything that happened. Whereas SeBrenna and NorKat's stories have stayed with me even after 2 years, so much so that I had to go back and reread their books after this one, GLH outdid herself with those.
I just finished the ARC and all I can say is “oh my ‘lanta” 🥵 this book had everything.
A pious, no-nonsense, rule following (hot) Angel meets his match when he is tasked with protecting a beautiful, compassionate woman who has been surrounded by people who call her a freak. A battle of wills and tension ensue when these two are stuck together to keep her safe from not only demons but angels too. The tension, the sparks (literally), the betrayal, and the discovery of truths within and withheld gave this book a 5 ⭐️ for me. The twists i didnt see coming had me gasping with each turn of the page! And let’s just say i didnt know Lore had it in him! 👀 I absolutely loved this book and cannot wait for more!
5/5 ⭐️ 3/5🌶️

I have just finished the ARC for this one and let me just say it was AMAZING. Georgia Lyn Hunter outdid herself again. So many things you don't expect and it gets better and better the more you read. Oh Lore I never knew you had it in you 🥵. This book was just as STEAMY and great story line as well. A little different from the previous books but in a good way. Nia was amazing as well and such a trooper and so happy for her as well as Lore. I can't wait for everyone to read their story! On release day everyone needs to get this one and settle in, because if you're like me, you won't be able to put it down!
Lore was an amazing read and well worth the wait. This book is about Lore and Nia’s Journey to their HEA. Lore is an Angel (A Power), who has been asked by Michael to protect Nia. Lore was also asked by his Superior to watch Nia and report back to them, if her powers unfold. His job was to assess and eliminate any threats to the celestial realm, but for some reason, eliminating Nia did not sit well with him and he needed to investigate why this human with minimal powers would pose a threat to the realm. Nia, who is training to be a veterinarian, who could see Demons and is unaware she is a Psionics, (a human descendants of Watches), has always believed something was wrong with her. Especially with her grandmother’s consistent criticism. Nia was orphaned at a young age and raised by her grandmother, who only took her in as a promise to her son. Meanwhile, Nia is being stalked by her ex-boyfriend, who turns out to be a Demon that has claimed her as his mate. Although Lore does not understand why he was asked to be Nia’s protector, which should have been assigned to a lesser Angel, he soon realizes that only he could protect her from this powerful demon. One of the best aspects of this book was Lore’s transformation. Being an Angel, he did not understand humans and their emotions. Lore's transformation went from aloof to a character you could not help, but fall in love with, which made this book even more enjoyable. it only goes to show the Power of Love. Wow…There is so much going on in this book; it will keep you engrossed from beginning to end. If you are looking for your next PNR to sink your teeth into, I highly recommend this book, but I suggest to start at the beginning of the series. You will not be Disappointed. GLH is an Amazing story teller.
If you haven’t yet read the previous books in the Fallen Guardians series, you’re missing out! This books have it all: angels, fallen angels, guardians from different realms, demons, and humans. The guardians have one mission on Earth: to protect humanity from the demonic forces that threaten it. At the helm is Michael, their leader, and all the guardians draw their powers from the female deity, Gaia, who protects the Earth.
Book 9 of the series shifts the focus to Loraed, or Lore as everyone calls him. Fans of earlier books will recognize Lore as the powerful angel who trains Echo (from Book 1) in her abilities. Lore is an enigma—reclusive and distant, he keeps to himself and avoids getting close to anyone, whether guardian or human. His cold demeanor and detachment make him an outlier in a world where relationships are key. But when Lore receives a message from Michael, urging him to protect a woman— and a message from the Supreme Seraph to kill a woman, he finds that both directives are about the same person: Rania Deveraux.
Rania, or Nia as her friends call her, lives in New Orleans and has ties to characters from earlier books, including Saia and Riley. She’s being relentlessly pursued by a demon who won’t take “no” for an answer. When Lore saves her and brings her to one of the guardians’ sanctuaries, Nia begins to break through the walls he’s built around himself. Lore, a being who has long lived without human connection, begins to realize there’s more to his existence than simply being a Power.
This book is a journey of self-discovery, awakening, and love. It explores what happens when someone’s heart is finally touched, and the lengths they’ll go to for the person they love. Lore’s journey is emotionally charged, full of difficult choices and sacrifice, and the love that grows between him and Nia is beautifully compelling. I absolutely loved this book—Lore and Nia’s connection is everything.
Wow!! I absolutely adored this story. Exciting, entertaining, great world-building and scintillating romance. Angels, demons, and other things that go bump in the night. Struggling with a power no one understands, and worse rejects over.
Angel dust, dragons, and the ire of powerful beings. The protection of a frustrating being. A scorching first kiss. Lessons on all sides and finding your place in the world.
All those things you come to expect in this phenomenal series.
**I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book**
All of yours are so good and filled with strong characters who loves hard when finding each other while overcoming previous tragic events in there lives I have to say this book did not disappoint and I cannot wait until the next book.
I've read this tantalizing series from the beginning and it never fails to wow on many levels. Author Hunter is one of THE PREMIER paranormal authors that you aren't reading. The stories and characters are top notch and books linked effortlessly so you get a magnificent world full of heroes and villains that take your breath away.
This book is about Lore, a powerful Angel, who is tasked with both saving mortal Nia's life and taking it. She has a past and enemies she doesn't know or understand, and Lore tries to help her find the truth. Author Hunter is one h*ll of an emotional writer. Her characters bleed on the page passionately and physically.
"Nia ignored his narrowing eyes. “What I’m talking about comes from here.” She poked her chest repeatedly with a finger. “It bleeds from the deepest depths of your soul and consumes you whole. And right now? I feel extremely alone.” “You have me.” Tears burned her eyes, those same damn emotions swelling her throat. “For how long, Lore? In the end, you will leave. I need more. I need to find my family.” “Nia, I…” At his hesitation, the hope she didn’t know she hung on to crumbled. “Yeah, I get it. You can’t promise me anything.”
This is a young woman who has never known love of any kind. She hangs onto her feelings because they MATTER. Lore is the opposite. He was created by the Celestial Realm to have no feelings, and therefore has a hard time understanding Nia. These two crash into each other like ocean waves and it's glorious.
I loved having the cameo from Race. Praying he gets the next book. 🙌 I also loved the twist; my mouth literally dropped while reading. Didn't see that coming! I admire Author Hunter's writer mindset. Coming up with the storyline that is crazy, yet fits perfectly with these characters? When Michael got that second twist going, 😲😲😲 So incredibly cool! And another thing, there seems like a lot, but there really isn't. I recommend starting from book one because the books are all consuming, but they are easy to get into.
I just loved the way this new couple found each other and fundamentally CHANGED each other. My favorite lines from Lore:
"“Had I died, I would have found my way back to you, Nia.” He tucked a loosened strand of hair behind her ear. Then his warm palm cradled one side of her face. “I’m here because I chose you. In my endless life, the only thing that had ever mattered was serving the Celestial Realm.” His throat moved. “Then I met you. It was like being hit by a meteorite. I no longer knew left from right. You took me apart, atom by atom, turning my life inside out, and as everything realigned, I was never the same again. And I knew… I just knew what I feel for you is unstoppable.”"
I never knew the perfect line until now. "I just knew what I feel for you is unstoppable."😍😍😍
I absolutely loved this one! It pulled me in from beginning to end and I was fully engaged the entire time. I absolutely love this world that Georgia has created and was very excited to come back to it to this time and was not disappointed at all. We have met both of these characters in previous books in the series and if you have read those, definite extra enjoyment but I wouldn't say it is strictly necessary to have read those prior to this one, though I highly recommend you do. I loved watching these two come together and figure things out. Lore is cold and detached and doesn't really understand humanity and all the emotions that come from and with relationships. He keeps to himself for the most part. Nia has been raised by her grandmother who constantly criticizes her and only took her in due to a promise made to her father. She has grown up thinking that there is something wrong with her. She seemingly has low level powers which doesn't explain why he was asked to protect and watch her and then he ends up with another order. As Lore protects Nia from the demon stalking her and whisks her away to a Guardian safehouse and they get closer, her powers awaken and are strong and it creates a different problem that they have to deal with. There are enemies from both Heaven and Hell and with a betrayal coming, they have to figure out if they can stand together and trust each other or if they will end up on opposite sides. I truly loved how this story and relationship was developed. We really get to see the relationship and plot develop and it flows well. It kept me reading and needing to know what was happening next and fully engaged with the characters the entire time. I truly loved this story and can't wait for more! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Ms. Hunter always delivers with her Gaurdians. Lore is an angel, a Power to be exact. Created by the Celestial Realm to be strong, powerful taught to carry out the orders of the Seraphs. He assists Michael with the teachings of the Psionics, descendants of the long deceased Watchers, whom were very powerful as a favor. He is tasked by his superior to watch Rania or she likes to go by Nia, to watch and assess her and eliminate her if she is a threat to the Realm and also by Michael to protect her. Lore must first protect her from Kas, a demon that is bent on making her his mate.
Little by little the two grow closer and Nia brings humanity to the stoic angel. Her powers come forth along with her family history. Their story will have you hanging on the edge. The twists and turns the author throws are fantastic. I highly recommend starting the series from the first book to get the full understanding, however; you could read this and gain an understanding. I'm still hoping Race will get his HEA and he does make an appearance in this book for fans of him. I volunteered to read this book.
I can't get enough of Ms Hunter's story telling. This would be my all time favorite story. It took me on a roller coaster and what a ride it was. Lore is Angel who is asked by Michael to protect Nia but on the other hand he also has to report to his Superior to give any information on her as well. If her powers appears, he was tasked to kill her. He doesn't do well with humans but with Nia, his barriers slowly dissipates and the attraction he has for her grew strong. There is a power demon who is after Nia and Lore will do everything in his power to protect her. The heat between Lore and Nia had me fanning myself. Will they be able to overcome the threat and have a happy life? One will have to read to find out. It is well worth it and extremely hard to put down. I look forward to what Ms Hunter has in store for us on her next book.
Georgia Lyn Hunter never ceases to amaze me with her powerful writing. Fallen Embers is steeped in fast-paced action, every scene a nail-biter between life and death. During each battle sequence, whenever the stakes are high, pain, anguish, and powerful determination drip off the pages.
The angel, Lore dislikes being assigned to watch over a human, humans are beneath him. Nia, the human, isn't thrilled at having Lore tailing her. Sparks ignite! Sizzling, heated, and the reader can't turn the pages fast enough.
This is my second favorite book in the fallen guardian series! Georgia definitely did it again. Watching Lore unravel from the uptight teacher to a sexy defiant warrior was just the character arc that I did not know I needed. There were some beautiful surprises along the way and I ended this book feeling beyond satisfied, happy and fulfilled!! These fallen embers will definitely leave you sizzling!
Both Nia and Lore and now my favorite characters in the series. Each one keeps getting better, and Fallen Embers is no exception. I didn't realize how much I wanted Lore's book until he met Nia and is tasked to protect her. Nia slowly breaks down Lore's walls and it's good to see how he relaxes around her and allows the relationship to develop between them. And I loved how much he was willing to do to both protect Nia and what they share together.
Fallen Embers is absolutely amazing! I love the dynamic between Nia and Lore, their story is a true testament to what the power of love can do! The twists and turns in this book had me holding my breath and eagerly devouring each page. As always the banter between the Fallen Guardians brings a lightness to those scenes and a smile to my lips.
Wow! What a story! Lore and Nia was such an interesting couple. There were some twist and turns that I was not prepared for and loved it so much. It added so much to the storyline. You will love this as much as I do.
I took my time to read this book I didn't want to finish it too soon I love all the characters in this book I am so glad Echo and Nate and Nia are family the storyline was spellbinding I can't wait for the next story will it be Hedori Race or Michael
An amazing story in the continuation of the guardians series. Georgia Lyn Hunter does an amazing job of writing the story of this angel. Her wording that paints his age. Nia is a spectacular female character. If you haven't started this amazing series you're definitely missing out!!
