After three years together, Miguel had never missed a holiday or special occasion—at least he hadn’t until my last birthday. Hurt and disappointed, I wasn’t sure how he could make it up to me. But then Valentine’s Day approached, and he surprised me with a magical scavenger hunt, each clue more thoughtful than the last. As I followed the trail of memories and heartfelt surprises, I began to realize that the best gifts are the simplest and least expected. small town, fast burn, ADHD rep
Miguel, Miguel, Miguel.... Angelica is better than me because my birthday?!?! What do you mean you forgot, MY BIRTHDAY?! I'd be dramatic for the rest of the week. I understand the circumstances, but that's why I only said a week 😂 that aside, Miguel made up for his mistake nicely, and I can appreciate all the hard work put into planning/ executing everything. I liked how everyone rallied together with understanding to help Miguel instead of turning him into a villain.
Miguel is a school teacher and the stress he is feeling I totally get. Being a teacher, you get sucked into everything that’s going on that it’s not unusual to forget. Even something as important as a birthday. And that’s just what happened. Poor Angelica but… one thing a teacher is is creative and Miguel put his teacher side to good use and made it an unforgettable night.
If you couldn’t tell, I totally found this story to be relatable in every way. It was such a short and sweet story. You can totally feel how perfect this couple is for each other.
1) I really hate sharing a name with the FMC in a book. 2) I hate having similar interests as the FMC in a book. Likes musicals? ✔️ Sushi? ✔️ Has a bachelors in psychology ✔️
It felt like I was reading a reader x blank book, which isn’t a bad thing, it just didn’t work for me personally.
I loved this book. It’s a short and cozy read. It just shows that relationships are hard work at times and worth fighting for, if it’s with the right person.
The second novella of the Lovestruck Calendar Short Story series finds us hanging out with an engaged couple, Angelica and Miguel. Miguel is a first year teacher under pressure to get additional testing just right for his students. He is so stressed out he loses track of what day it is. Unfortunately, he misses an important day, Angelica’s birthday.
I love that this story features an existing couple in a loving and healthy relationship! The story is fast paced and the activities Miguel plans are super fun. I wish my partner was that creative. The disappointment and upset are real, but so is the maturity and forgiveness. Loved this one and can’t wait for March.
Miguel has been super stressed with a new teaching job and new state testing requirements. The weeks are rushing by with late nights working. However, when he finds his fiancee set out jeans for himself he realizes he has made a grave mistake. He had completely missed her birthday two days ago.
The rest of the story is him setting up a perfect apology for the missed birthday. He sends her on the sweetest scavenger hunt that starts with tickets to a sold out show he already had for her and ends with Valentine's day dinner. Each clue and gift was so sweet and perfectly thought out.
Forgetting February is book two of A Lovestruck Calendar Series.
Angelica has the patience and soul of a saint. I would not be as forgiving as she was for Miguel's actions. He was kind of selfish at times. I get he does get better by the end of the story, but he needs to focus more on the moments he is living with his partner. After saying this, he does make up for his mistakes in a major way and by that time I would've forgiven him. But I definitely would've made a bigger stink about it all than Angelica did.
Synopsis: Miguel and Angel have been together three years. When Miguel forgets her birthday due to being stressed with work, Angel is hurt and disappointed. Once Miguel figures out what he has done, he plans a scavenger hunt for Angel for Valentine’s Day. Angel and Miguel begin to be reminded that it’s the little things in life and in relationships that make love that much sweeter.
TW: sexual encounter, forgetting birthday Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Tropes: short story, Valentine’s Day, scavenger hunt, small town
Forgetting February is such a cute emotional short story. This is Angelica and Miguel’s story and when life gets busy, time goes by quickly and you forget important dates. Their story is filed with forgiveness and celebration. I love how supportive and thoughtful they are with each other. Also, when you love someone you go all out with the little things and Miguel did just that and more. This is such a cute Valentine story, I can’t wait to read the next one.
I voluntarily leave an honest review of this readers copy!!
Second book in the series and it's interconnected! I've fallen more in love now. Albeit this one focused on her sister and fiance who were already together. But I love that it shows the realness of how sometimes you can push yourself with work so far that you forget things around you as well as what day it is. This short story goes to show how much a person wants to make up for missing such important events that may seem trivial to be upset about, but making your partner happy and vice versa is one of the best for a relationship. Can't wait for the next one!
I wasn't expecting such a compelling story given it was such a short novella, but Constantina has proven that a beautiful love story can be told in just a few pages. As Angelica and Miguel discover, it's the small gestures that build a lasting romance. Having been married for 35 years, I can attest that it's the everyday moments that make a lifetime of adventure. It is very well written and I highly recommend this book to everyone.
So many stories are about couples getting together, and few romances are told about existing couples. I like that this story follows a couple going through a rough patch. I love this is connected to first book in the Lovestruck Calendar. This story is told from Angelica and Miguel's point of view. Miguel lets his work stress blind him to what is in front of him will he be able to make it up? I look forward to catching the rest of the Lovestruck Calendar short stories.
This is the second book in the Love Struck Calendar series. I am falling in love with these short stories.
This was a cozy sweet read that many will relate to.
They way we get busy in our lives and get sucked into or jobs forgetting things that are important us and to those close to us. Then making sure we slow down and focus on those important to us.
You will be hook throughout the story wanting to know what happens and how things will resolve.
We're back in Sunflower Springs for Angelica and Miguel's stories. I felt for Angelica when Miguel forgot her birthday but what he did to make up for it was so sweet! Constantina captured the romance that still lives when you've been with your partner long-term. Here's my favorite quote: It’s all of the little things you do that make me fall deeper in love with you, every moment we’re together just being our normal, ordinary selves.
However I was a bit disappointed in the fact that while Angelica was upset when she had realized that Miguel had forgotten her birthday she didn’t make it into a big spectacle and confront him because she knew he had a lot on his plate, so when Miguel realized what had happened and that he forgot he’d pretty much thrown himself a pity party over it.. so that kind of ruined it for me.

There aren't a lot of romance stories about the ruts relationships fall into. So often, we see the beginnings and the ends. Forgetting February is refreshing because it is easy to take the ones we love for granted, but it's even easier to remind someone how much they mean to you. I've definitely been given a few ideas on how to get out of my next romantic slump.
I had the pleasure to read this novella as part of the arc team and it was ok but not as good as her first one in this short story series. I am not sure short stories/novellas are my jam as this felt so rushed. Going to continue reading her next short story and see what I think. Also, can’t believe her fiancé forget her birthday.
Such a cute compelling story in such a short book! 🖤
Love stepping into these worlds created by Constantina, very well written and each story snags you from the beginning. You will be wrapped up in a story that has so much detail that you will honestly be shocked how the story is wrapped up so beautifully in such short novellas!
This was a good short story and a quick read, but it wasn’t meant for me. Would I recommend it? Yes. It was cute. We’ve got a guy forgetting a birthday, a girl who’s hurt and how he solves this problem, or does he? You’ll have to read to find out. This wasn’t my favorite in the Lovestruck series, but it was good.
While the story was relatable and quick, I just didn't connect with the characters as much as the first book in the Lovestruck Calendar short stories. The writing itself was GREAT. But the plot just fell short for me. Still a good quick read!
This book was so adorable! I’ve loved the little scavenger hunt and would love to have a significant other do that for me. My only complaint was I wish there was more because I loved the characters and their story.
Angelica is a saint because if my husband had forgotten my birthday, I'd be pissed. LOL This is a fast story but doesn't feel too rushed and you feel what they are going through as a couple. Cute, fast story.
Angélica and Miguel are a young engaged couple who are starting their lives together. Their love for each other helps them to learn what is important in life. Even though it's a short story, the author manages to tell it fully. The characters are well developed and the story is a sweet one.
This was such a cute and loving short read. I love how Angel didn’t trip about him missing an import and loved that when Miguel realized it, he came back and made up for it up. Another book of a woman being loved properly.
This was very sweet and emotional from the starts. Both of them were so adorable and I loved seeing past characters in this book and hopefully future books
