Our Evil Dead: Adrian's March, Part Seven

Rate this book
Nightmares are usually kept to dark nights, and deep slumber, but that just isn't so anymore.

Rachel's inner evil--an actual monster within--is set free when she sleeps, and if Adrian wants any chance at figuring out the salvation of Europe they first must contain the entity Rachel harbors. But you just can't put her down like a zombie. What if that sets the evil free?

But keeping her around, and muting that monster gives Evil a beacon to follow, and makes the annihilation of life with the massed hordes of the undead all the easier.

It's never simple, is it?

But saving a condemned world shouldn't be easy. Not if we want a second chance to do it all better.

Can Adrian stay sane, keep his friends safe, and trek across Germany to find more survivors, and maybe--just maybe--his lost brother Tommy?

Not if Evil has a say, and Evil is speaking up louder and louder with every mile they cross.

About Chris Philbrook

I am the creator and author of Tesser: A Dragon Among Us as well as Elmoryn's The Kinless Trilogy, Colony Lost, Adrian's Undead Diary and the Darkness of Diggory Finch.

I've gone to a LOT of college. I've got a Business degree as well as a Psychology degree, and I've done the full program at the school of hard knocks. I've been a printing press operator, bouncer, purchasing agent, bodyguard, customer service representative, mental health counselor, and more. I can write about weird shit because I've done weird shit. Trust me.

I call the wonderful state of New Hampshire my home, but I love to travel. I love to read, write, play role playing games, miniatures games, video games, and Magic: The Gathering. When I find the time to be active, I like to hike, play basketball, and play football. I am married to a wonderful woman, and together we have two wonderful daughters.

One of my least favorites of this series. It almost feels like the author has fallen out of love with these characters but knows it has a devoted following so he keeps writing the series. I'm hoping it goes back to the original quality of the series. I love these characters.

Let me start off by saying I'm a huge fan of the author and the characters and I'm always so excited to read the newest adventures of Adrian Ring and friends (or foes but I was a little disappointed by book 14. There are so many characters now that it took about 3 re-reads of chapter 1-4 just to somewhat remember who was who and what was what, so either read the last couple chapters of the previous book to refresh your memory or a little recap in the beginning would be so helpful, there's just too many characters to keep up with! I was getting bored with the constant repeating of what happened from the other characters viewpoint, it was all this action and then it circled back to another entry where Adrian is recapping what we just read about...it's unnecessary fluff and I checked twice, to make sure I didn't accidently go back a chapter because it was literally repeating what I just read.

Another great addition to this awesome series by Philbrook. This tale is character driven and emotionally charged so it was great to reconnect with many of my loved characters. The nightmares and dreams are continuing as the group go through hordes of the dead while on their new mission. I highly recommend this book and series if you enjoy the zombie genre with sarcasm and heart.

Adrian’s undead diary will go down as one of my most beloved series. However it feels like the writing and story are happening for the sake of happening.

Severely bloated cast full of characters that don’t have anywhere near the importance of the legacy characters. Legacy characters written as though they were different people altogether.

What killed it for me personally was introduction of the rabbi giving him shit for being a “white savior” and started looking at his group as diversity check points… I’m glad it happened now, had this happened early in the series I’d have checked out completely and seen it as a major red flag.

Still trying to finish this, but for the sake of the story as a whole, I really hope it ends completely here to preserve AUD as a top 5 all time series.

As much as I've loved the series this edition of Adrian's diary was a bit disappointing. The important points of the story could pretty much be condensed down to two or three chapters (or diary entries). The rest is just unnecessary filler. There were more errors than I would expect from a writer of Philbrook's caliber, too. Missed words that should have been caught in editing, for example. Not a big deal, just... disappointing. I'm counting on you to make up for it in the next book, Adrian!

I have loved this series. The story concept is good but in this book it just dragged on and then … just ended. There are so many characters now too that it was hard to keep everyone straight. A recap at the beginning would have been helpful. Frustrating because i absolutely loved the original AUD.

Another fine entry in the saga.

Been enjoying this series since it was just the blog. Chris hasn’t missed a beat with these books so far and this one hits the mark again.

Will be gutted when it finally ends, but that’ll just be an excuse to re-read the series…again.

Another great AUD addition! I was a tad upset at first but only because I didn’t get the closure/ending I wanted. The writing was still just as amazing. Waiting…not so patiently…for more!!!
