Colleen Delaney's The Witches of Star Island is back with the second book, Bewitching Rosemary. I have been waiting for what feels like forever for this book.

Rosemary, the second oldest of the Bay sisters, was introduced in the first book. She's not the annoying wild child I originally thought. Rosemary is more like a fun, free spirit who is bright and happy, lacks a filter, and meddles in people's lives. I liked her even if I didn’t agree with all her decisions. Imagine her surprise when she finds out her soulmate is a cop! Haha! Rosemary's reaction to Asher was priceless. Surprisingly, she and Asher actually make a good couple. Asher was pretty surprising in more ways than one. He kept Rosemary on her toes and was way more open than I thought he would be. A free spirit matched with a cop— what a match.

This was a fun and flirty read with tons of magic. One of my favorite things about the story is that magic is woven throughout the series but done in such a way that it blends into the everyday world and seems both wondrous and normal all at once. Plus, the mix of historical fantasy just adds that little bit extra. Once again, the Bay sisters rally together to fight off an enemy in the present and learn something important about the past. The twists and turns were great, and I'm enjoying learning more about the magical world as the series goes on.

Bewitching Rosemary was fabulous! The series still reminds me of Practical Magic, but it's a lot steamier. I loved Rosemary’s and Asher's story, and I can't wait to see what fate has in store for the remaining Bay witches.

The perfect sequel to our quirky witches' stories. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Rosemary & Asher's story. As always, we get to see their present lives and past lives, and I absolutely loved it. You always know there is going to be some trauma in the past life, but it makes their present so much more magical.

The spice in these books is just right; no one can tell me otherwise. I'm eagerly looking forward to seeing what Colleen has in store for the rest of the sisters, most of all Luke and Verbena. I'm so intrigued by the curse and the final chaos brother. Also, the secret council and guardians gave me Buffy vibes.

This book just ticked all the boxes. If you like the below, you will love this book:

- Soulmates
- Guardians
- Witches
- Past lives
- Sisters
- Spells and Magic
- Steamy spicy goodness
- Murder
- Public indecency 😜
- Revenge
- Sacrifice

And so much more!

Thank you, LBT, Colleen, and City Owl Press for the early review copy. 😊

Rosemary Bay has been dreaming about meeting her soulmate since she was 16. One night, he unexpectedly shows up at her door in the form of Sheriff Asher Evans looking into the disappearance of a witch she helped her sister banish to another world. The missing witch's brother, Ivan, has been heckling the Sheriff Evans about the disappearance and is convinced that the Bay sisters had something to do with it. How will Rosemary and the new sheriff navigate the pull between each other?

Perfect read for a witchy October! I really enjoyed Rosemary's free spirit and hippie vibes, naked dancing is always an added bonus. I enjoyed the relationship between the 5 Bay sisters and their camaraderie. I was confused for a little bit when she was living through her past life but then get pretty sucked into that life. The love, grief, and bravery of Gundrun, you go girl! The spice was an added bonus. I made the mistake of starting with book 2 so I will need to go back and read book 1.

Thank you #Netgalley and City Owl Press for providing me with an ARC!

Even though Asher isn’t even remotely close to what Rosemary thinks she wants in a partner, it’s full speed ahead for this garden witch when her soulmate knocks on their door. This story felt like it had a much more singular focus than the previous one. Probably because the first book had already introduced us to the biggest complications the Bay witches would need to face. I liked Rosemary and Asher together. I liked seeing another Fated pairing brought together. But there was a sense that everything came together too easily in the end. However, I’m still extremely curious to see the other sisters find their soulmates and to learn what it will finally take to free their family from the curse.

Magical Fun

I went into this with an open mind, and I have to say I was pulled into the Bay sisters' lives and their magical abilities.

"Is there some sort of pamphlet you can give me with an overview of everything magical I need to know? Because honestly, this is all making my head spin," Asher said.

Lots of magical stuff and very enlightening. Really enjoyed this story and can't wait to read more about the Bay sisters.

I really like this series, I gotta continue it.

I received this ARC on Netgalley for honest feedback.

After reading The Hedge Witch, I knew I wanted more of the Bay sisters. I'm so ready for the other three sisters to get their books.

This book follows Rosemary and her sisters, who are all witches. The authors take on how witchcraft, past lives(reincarnation), and a bit of spice thrown in is really well done. The characters have real development, and feel like you know them.

This book was just as cozy and spicy as the first in the series. Spice wasn't the main focus, and there was actual plot with the story. 3/5 🌶️

Thank you NetGalley and Owl City Publishing for giving me the opportunity to read this book as an ARC for an honest review. I really liked this book! I thought the story line was very unique and entertaining. I found it to be a fun and fast paced book that kept my attention. I love the characters, the writing style, and the captivating plot! I will absolutely be purchasing the whole series when it’s been released. I gave it 4 stars because I felt like some of the spicy scenes felt very forced into the story. I love a good spicy scene but I wish it felt more natural sometimes. Overall, the story is great and I truly recommend it!

I expected a spicy romance with not much emotional interest. Boy, Ou Boy, how I was surprised. Collen made Bewitching Rosemary one of the most surprising romance books, that I read in 2024. Let`s see together why 😉

If you read the first book in the Star Island series - Hedge Witch you already met Rosemary Bay, if not let me introduce you. Rosemary is one of 5 Bay sisters Lavender, Rosemary, Laurel, Verbena, and Sage. They all live in a cottage on Stare Island and well, are witches. Rosemary is a garden witch who dabbles in sex magic and well everyone else business.
In book one, we learn about a curse threatening the Bay sisters and meet Laurel and her soulmate, Owen. The story left us with plenty of unresolved dangers, which pick up again in this book

Rosemary meets right at the beginning her Soulmate Asher Evans who is the new Star Island sheriff. For Rosemary (a free spirit who loves dancing naked on every possible holiday, and takes mild natural drugs on special occasions ) this is an unpleasant surprise. Also, it looks like the brother of the villain from book one is coming to Star Island to find out what happened to his sibling. Will Rosemarie`s fears come to life and she and Asher will not have anything in common? Will the Bay sisters survive another of the evil siblings?

This book is a work of magic. Rosemary is one of the most enticing antagonists I read in paranormal witchy romance in a while. She is funny in her inner monologues and I loved her as a character. The little chatty garden witch that loves good sex and is enjoying life to its fullest.
I adore her personality and the care she gives her flowers and family. I must say she is probably my new life guru. I looooooooove FMC who knows how to have fun and is wild, but also kind of wise and not unnecessarily reckless.
Asher at the beginning is what I consider a fairly normal guy. He is the protector and he is looking like a vanilla kind of guy. But that is not true at all. During the book Asher`s personality nicely developed. My first impression was that he would not have any depth, but his family history and other things made him interesting in the end. And if personal development is not enough for you his bossy, filthy mouth adds an unexpected edge that will keep you turning pages🥵😂 I must say that my man enjoyed the spicy side of this book, even though he did not read it 😉
I enjoyed the magic system in this book very much, witches are divided by nature and also subsections like house witch, garden witch, harvest witch, etc. It just breathes coziness to witchcraft.
My only critique of this book is that the villain was not scary enough for me 😂
In finale... Bewitching Rosemary is a fantastic read for everyone who loves cozy witchy romance with an island atmosphere, a dash of mystery, and a lot of funny banter between main characters. With a female lead who is a free spirit doing sex magic and a bossy man lead with a filthy mouth in the best way, I am sure you will enjoy this ride through Star Island.

Bewitching Rosemary by Colleen Delaney is a whimsical blend of romance, magic, and destiny that will sweep you off your feet and whisk you away to the mystical shores of Star Island. If you love stories about fated soulmates, witchy meddling, and a dash of danger, this book is an absolute must-read!

Rosemary Bay is the kind of protagonist you can’t help but adore. As a garden witch with a penchant for love spells and matchmaking, she’s used to helping others find romance — but her own love story is far from simple. Her excitement over reuniting with her soulmate after lifetimes apart is palpable, but fate has a twist in store for her. When her destined love appears as Sheriff Asher Evans, a human cop with a tragic past, things get complicated fast. Their chemistry is electric, their banter is playful, and the emotional pull between them feels as natural as the magic Rosemary wields.

Asher is a swoon-worthy hero with just the right balance of grit and heart. He’s a protector by nature, and his instant connection with Rosemary adds an emotional depth to the story. Watching him try to make sense of the supernatural chaos swirling around Star Island is both heartwarming and hilarious. His determination to protect Rosemary — even before he fully understands why — adds to his charm.

What sets Bewitching Rosemary apart is the rich world-building and the atmospheric magic that laces every page. Star Island comes to life with its lush gardens, enchanted spells, and an undercurrent of magical mystery. The magical elements are creative and vivid, and I loved seeing how Rosemary's witchy talents intertwined with the plot. From love spells gone awry to dangerous curses and unexpected twists, every chapter had me eagerly turning the page.

But it’s not all love and roses — lurking in the background is a metal warlock from their shared past life, determined to tear them apart. This threat raises the stakes, adding urgency to their budding romance. The curse on Rosemary's bloodline only adds to the tension, creating an emotional push-and-pull as she struggles with whether fate is truly on her side.

The romance is the heart of the story, and Delaney captures that slow-burn, destined-love tension perfectly. The concept of soulmates spanning lifetimes adds an emotional weight to every glance, touch, and conversation. Their love feels inevitable but not easy, and that journey is what makes it so satisfying.

What I Loved Most:
🌿 Rosemary's Witchy Charm: Her playful, mischievous energy had me smiling throughout the book.
💕 Soulmate Trope: The idea of love transcending lifetimes was beautifully handled, making every moment feel deeply significant.
🌀 Mystery & Suspense: The looming threat of the warlock and the curse added layers of intensity to the story.
✨ Magical Atmosphere: Star Island itself felt like a character, with its enchanted setting and small-town, magical vibe.

Here is my review for Bewitching Rosemary by Colleen Delaney

I found I got into Bewitching Rosemary really easily and loved reading the book. It’s a terrific story with a family of female witches who live on Star Island and they all dabble in magic. It’s an easy story to get into. Ivan rings Sheriff Asher Evans to report his sister missing and that she was visiting Laurel Bay who is a psychic witch who does tarot card readings. She says she hasn’t seen her. The Sheriff can find the odd reported sighting around the Island but can’t find that she is staying anywhere and then it’s just deadends. When Rosemary first sees the cop, she rushes away from him knowing that he is her soulmate and that she wants to be intimate with him but knows nothing about him. When Asher first spots Rosemary, he thinks she is the hottest woman around and he wants to get to know her better. When Ivan kicks off again, he thinks perhaps he might have to investigate Laurel Bay further. This story is a really great read. The characters are interesting and there is a great cast of characters in this magical story. The story is excellently written and plotted with lots of good descriptions to describe what is happening. It’s a great storyline. I haven’t read book one which I will do asap so I know the full story but it didn’t spoil my enjoyment of reading this book or the characters. I enjoyed the author’s style of writing which was easy to read.

Thank you to NetGalley and City Owl Press for the ARC!
I am glad I stuck with this one, I got more into it about halfway through, and I did like it more than the first book. The series follows the Bay sisters as they meet their soulmates and have to navigate a family curse in various ways.
I'll be honest "true soulmate" stories are not my cup of tea, I'll blame Twilight discourse for that, but I was hankering for something to fill Juliette Cross's Stay a Spell series and these don't quite hit the mark for me, which is also my fault for comparing this series to one of my favourites. These are fairly short books which is both good and bad, good because the pacing never seems to lull, even if I would consider it medium pacing, but bad because I don't feel like any character has been truly fleshed out in either book of the series.

There's a running piece of knowledge that the Bay sisters are very powerful, powerful enough to have a curse on them threatening their very existence, but none of them seem competent in their magic or have done any studying into their abilities apart from what they need for their jobs. But then when they need it the most they can perform huge amounts of magic that they didn't even know about, which is just not my favourite tool in books.

There is reincarnation in these books, quite heavily in fact, and I like it a lot which I didn't think I would. The author has obviously done a bit of research into the time periods which is nice and those parts feel well developed and fleshed out for the short amount of time we are in it. It also makes the "instant love" more tolerable to me in the present day interactions. It would make sense that the characters would know more about their magic after the past lives are looked into, but there is very little of that and it falls flat for me. Rosemary mentioned it a little in this book when she still knew the past language, but it didn't seem like there was a lightbulb moment connected to her powers, but maybe I missed something.

If you like fluffy fantasy series with some fun family dynamics I'd give them a shot, and I will probably continue with the series when the next one comes out. 3.5 stars.

Thank you to netgalley and City Owl Press for providing me with an ARC of this novel to review.

Rosemary Bay has met her soulmate...and he happens to be her small community's new sheriff. She also happens to be one of five sister witches, have a penchant for some herbal drugs, and run around naked fairly frequently.
And could the timing be worse? There's a warlock after her and her sisters because of some past life shenanigans, the fact that they sort if imprisoned his sister in what they call the Hedge Wood, and a family curse states that anyone who takes the blood of the Bay sisters will steal their power.

This was a fun, "fluffy" read that centered on witches and other supernatural beings living in mostly-secret among humans in the modern world. There's definitely a fair amount of detailed spice, which isn't a thing I look for when choosing a book and I usually don't enjoy smut because of how ridiculous it can get. It definitely gets a little ridiculous here, but I think it works because the book doesn't take itself too seriously.

There is an interesting sort of interlude for a couple of chapters that changes the focus and pacing of the story during the middle point. It flashes to a shared past life between two characters and introduces a few darker themes (discussion of potential rape, murder, death, starvation). I found the change of pace welcome initially, but it soon felt like it went on a bit too long.

I did also make the mistake of picking this up without realizing that it's the second in the series. I didn't feel completely lost or like I missed anything in a first book that was critical to understanding the plot of this one, so that worked out better for me than it could have. I do get the sense that this will be a good series to pick up if you're in the mood for something light, fun, and flirty - just make sure you start with the first book!

This is one of my top reads of the year and my first time reading this author. I cannot say enough about how much I loved Rosemary and Asher’s story.

First of all can we talk about the barrier island/vacation destination vibes? I love everything about this setting, it reminds me of Nantucket or some other east coast location that is active with tourists during the season but quieter and inhabited by the year rounders out of season. Love the Star Island moniker and how every street, road, businesses, and facilities on the island have celestial names, so charming and magical.

Rosemary meets Asher pretty much in the first chapter but does not actually talk to him right away. She is stunned and amazed that the new sheriff appears to be her soul mate and she recognizes him immediately as such. Asher also felt something upon seeing her but does not know what that connection is or will be.

It was so funny how she assumed that Asher would be a straight-laced and boring cop but he turns out to be incredibly passionate (especially about her) and deep, with some mysteries, as well as hopes and dreams of his own. I love their connection and their love, as well as their back (way way back) story.

The writing is so good and I found myself laughing so much at the banter between both Rosemary and Asher, as well as between all of her sisters. I cannot wait to read more about the Bay sisters and the ongoing drama throughout the series (The Witches of Star Island), and also each sister’s individual story - I’m looking at you Verbena and Luke!

Highlights of this story for me was when Asher catches Rosemary and her sisters dancing naked in their backyard doing witchy things - so incredibly funny! I also really enjoyed the cozy vibes of reading about good food and lots of sweet treats, and how they are seen as energy and fuel, as well as comfort. I also need to mention the beautiful cover art of the physical book, which would look amazing on any book lover’s shelf.

I absolutely adored this book! So much so I am kicking myself for not reading the first one, which I will be doing asap! I really loved how the story gave cozy & badass witchy vibes without Halloween, it truly felt whimsical yet modern instead of cheesy.

The whole story had a tasteful amount of spice while still emphasizing their love to the reader. Do I wish there was a little more spice? Of course, but it’s not a requirement, the plot was strong!

I loved Rosemary’s personality, she holds herself with such badass energy but has such kindness underneath. I think her magic and personality was tied together wonderfully, and made me want to be a Bay sister.

I wish we got slightly more deeper insight into Asher and why he left Buffalo/why he’s not talking to his mom other than a few sentences. I loved the scenes where he spoke with his sister, would have really enjoyed it if there were a few more scenes.

I admire the relationship all of the sisters have, how they support each other; questions are asked but they have little judgement towards each other and allow one another to have the space/time they need to process things. I am excited to see how their stories play out!

The past life was a whirlwind, I went from confusion, to happiness, to grief, to disgust (towards the family), then finally to pride. I admired how Rosemary’s past self handled her situation.

Ivan was annoying, obviously. I do hope that we learn more about what he goes through with the Guardians in the next book! And am excited to see how the other brother comes into play.

I love myself an epilogue, but I did wish it jumped a bit further in time so that I got more insight into how Rosemary & Asher were doing. Do they have kids? Do they get married? All things I want answers to!!

4.5⭐️ Highly recommend!

He's the moth to her flame. - A garden witch who's fully in tune with her sexy side, Rosemary immediately knows Asher is her soulmate. But he's also a cop and she takes a few liberties with the law. Surely the Goddess wouldn't pair her with a rule enforcer. And he's just her type - broad, built and gorgeous. What luck.

Asher is intrigued with Rosemary from the first, more so when he catches her and her sisters skyclad in the yard. A spell takes him to a past life where he loved Rosemary, revealing that he is more than human. Confusion is the least of his feelings, especially when she tells him the truth of her witchy nature. This is not what he signed up for when he left Buffalo for the island. Less stress and upheaval were the goals and supernatural experiences are anything but stress-free.

As they navigate their feelings for each other they must also deal with Morana's brother. He's on the island, making trouble for the Bay sisters in his search for his sibling. And he is tied to Rosemary's past life, a villain through the ages determined to dispense justice for a slight he brought into himself. Are the lovers doomed to be saddled with him dogging their heels for eternity? Will they ever break the curse?

A great addition to the series, with my favorite sister getting her guy. Their chemistry is off-the-charts hot, belying her thoughts that he is boring in bed. Or the shower. Or up against a tree. You get the picture. It took a millennium for them to reunite and they won't let anyone separate them again. I loved how Sage smacked Ivan around for messing with her sister. Torture by apple tree. Hmmm.

Bewitching Rosemary -The Witches of Star Island Book #2

By: Colleen Delaney- I haven't read Book #1 The Hedge Witch but was able to follow along

Publication: 11-19-24, Read 11-18-24

Setting: Star Island

Page Count: 264 eBook

POV: dual, 3rd person

Genre/Tropes:
♡ Paranormal Romance
♡ soulmates
♡ witches
♡ sisterhood
♡ magic
♡ insta-love/love at 1st sight
♡ time travel
♡ small town

The Cast:
Hero: Sheriff Asher Evans-Police officer moved from Buffalo to escape memories of past trauma. Working on missing persons case of Morana Stoch
Heroine: Rosemary Bay-a Garden witch, sex magic enthusiast. She's known her soulmate since she was 16 and in past lives.
Lavender-the oldest Bay sister
Laurel-found her soulmate first-Owen Davies
Verbena-a realtor
Sage- the youngest Bay sister, a farmer
Ivan Stoch-Morana's brother looking for his sister

My Thoughts: This book was a cute soulmate story between a witch and a cop. Rosemary is flighty bohemian with sex on the brain. Her and the sheriff hook up quickly, but they do take time to get to know each other. Someone knows what Laurel and Rosemary did to Morana and sends threatening letters. Rosemary decides to go back to the past for thyme to burn as protection while Asher awaits her return from "Boston." I loved the story from the past about Gundrun and Skaldi. It was so heart wrenching and beautiful. I can't wait for the next sister's HEA!

Looking for a witchy read? Look no further. I am not talking about the commercial, cute and full of sparkles. I mean the real deal, connected to earth, with curses, pain and love that transcends lifetimes.
Rosemary wants to meet her soulmate. When he finally appears as Sheriff Asher Evans, a human cop with no connection to her world of spells and curses, Rosemary is thrown for a loop. How can a human fit into her life brimming with magic and mayhem?
Asher came to Star Island looking for a fresh start and peace from his past, but his plans are quickly upended when he meets Rosemary. The pull between them is undeniable, and although he can’t explain it, he feels an instinctual need to protect her. However, their budding connection is threatened when a figure from their past lives reappears, bent on tearing them apart and reigniting a centuries-old curse that has haunted Rosemary’s bloodline.
The chemistry between Rosemary and Asher is palpable. As they face a relentless villain and unravel ancient mysteries, the stakes grow higher, testing their love and courage.
I loved how raw the story was. How the pain and fury of the past can haunt the present and how full of life a close family can be, connected both by magic and love.
As a downside, I would have preferred less of the s** spells, I find them not in line with the story and the allure of the characters.
This spellbinding novel is ideal for anyone who loves the idea of witches, villains, past lives and curses.
Thank you Netgalley for this arc.

***I received an ARC from Net Galley in exchange for my honest review

In the second book in the Witches Of Star Island Series, Rosemary Bay just knows that she is about to meet her soulmate. She has been waiting for this moment for years, but she is totally unprepared for who (or what) the universe sends her..... Sheriff Asher Evans. This is an unwelcome surprise if for no other reason, than he is looking for a witch her sister banished to another realm. But they can't exactly tell him that, can they? As soon as Asher lays eyes on Rosemary, he is instantly in love - and feels an immediate need to watch over her and keep her safe. When a villain from their past life shows up on Star Island, Rosemary and Asher’s happiness will be tested by a centuries’ old curse, an unavoidable destiny, and a metal warlock determined to keep them apart.

I have not read the first book in the series (yet), but I was not at all lost. I believe each book can be read as a stand-alone. I think they each may feature one of the five Bay sisters, although all five sisters were present and played pivotal roles in the book, Rosemary was the key focus in this one. This book was a lot of fun, and I loved the characters as well as the setting of Star Island. There were plenty of laugh=out-loud moments, as well as some very steamy scenes with Rosemary and Asher. I definitely plan to go back and read the first book, and look forward to seeing where the series goes from here.

This is the second book in this gorgeous witchy series - The Witches Of Star Island - and you may have seen my review for book 1 - The Hedge Witch, back in May this year.
I absolutely loved book one and couldn't wait to continue the journey here.

First things first, I absolutely love the front cover (actually of both books!) and was instantly drawn to the series - they'll look great together on bookshelves everywhere!

So, we're back with the Bay sisters and this time we are focusing on Rosemary's journey.
She has been dreaming of her soulmate since she was 16 - knowing they've met in every past life, she's eager to discover what this life will bring.
When Sherrif Evans knocks on the door one day in search of the missing witch that the girls had banished, Rosemary knows that this journey will be a tricky one!

Once again, we see the dynamics between the Bay sisters and it's so lovely to watch how they all support each other no matter what.

I love the idea of soul mates and it was fascinating to follow this over the two different lives/timelines and see Rosemary's past life with Asher and the trauma they endured.
It put the worst of this life into perspective and showed us that there would be a way through anything, allowing them to be together.

There was a little less world building in this book but we see this develop through the story as we read.
Packed with magic, spells and curses this was the perfect 'hangover' read, stretching out my spooky season reading a little further.

I'm already excited to see which sister will be starting in book 3 ....

Thank you so much Netgalley for this amazing, cozy and beautiful witchy romance!

As the beautiful cover, my heart is in trance of the beauty of the star island and it's unique naming of people living there... celestials 🥹🥹

The Bay sisters are the sweetest and have a very beautiful sisterly bond with each other. Lavender is sweetest oldest sister while our Rosemary is the definition of caring yet crazy elder sister with whom fun comes in hand in hand! 🥰
Rosemary, as her name, is a beautiful soul and is a garden witch with special powers. The most beautiful note about her character is her brave heart, kind and loving nature to plants and ever eager wish to climb on her soulmate 😂 Her past life as Gundrum wherein she is a kind and soft hearted girl with courage to stand up for wrong. Her loving and caring nature towards her family is absolutely heartwarming ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Asher!!! ❤️ Is definitely one of the most kindest and handsome sheriff ! His persona throughout the book is soft, pure and protective of his loved ones. His backstory and past live as Skàldi is extremely heart touching! And I loved the authors way of keeping revelations for the MMC than FMC, which I felt is a very unique thing about the book!

It's a perfect book for :-
💕 Reincarnation love
💕Strangers to lovers
💕Romantic mystery with a sparkle of magic
💕 Spicy sheriff and... 🤭🤭
💕 Adorable yet irresistible Garden Witch

🌶️: 3.5/5

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for a free and honest review.

Bewitching Rosemary is the second book in the Witches of Star Island series by Colleen Delaney. Much like the first book in the series, this book is filled with magic, romance, revenge, and a lot of spice.

The main character and witch, Rosemary Bay, has been waiting to meet her soulmate since she was 16 years old and when she learns that her soulmate is not only human but also a cop (Asher), she has conflicting feelings about whether or not to pursue him.

As fate would have it, Asher has been assigned to a missing person’s case that involves Rosemary’s family so she is unable to avoid him. Her attempt to put a spell on him backfires but that doesn’t stop things between them from heating up fast.

Once again, the author transports the reader back in time. This time, we see the previous life and relationship of Rosemary and Asher from hundreds of years ago. In doing so, the reader is able to feel the deeper connection between Rosemary and Asher which gives their relationship more substance- a deeper connection that goes beyond just their sexual relationship, which I happened to appreciate.

This was a quick and fun read. Its witchy vibe is a perfect autumnal read! If you enjoy stories about witches, magical spells, other worldly realms, and romance then this book is for you!

Unbeknownst to me, this book is part of a series—and of course, it’s book 2, lol. However, it feels more like a story set in the same universe but mostly standalone, so I was still able to enjoy the book without getting too lost. Most things were explained.

I was laughing right from the start with this one. The comments about her soulmate being a cop had me dying! The comedy continued through out the rest of the book with various amounts of sarcasm and sex jokes

Because of the soulmate trope, it’s very much an instalove situation, which I’m not usually a fan of, but it didn’t bother me too much. The spice, while minimal, definitely made up for it 😂🌶️😮‍💨

The past life flashback was really interesting. I expected it to be just a brief couple of paragraphs, but it ended up being a whole 10% of the book! It was a good story. I figured Asher would be affected, despite what was initially said.

I was concerned there might be a miscommunication trope due to the Guardian reveal, but it was quickly resolved.

The ending felt a bit rushed and thrown together, but everything was tied up nicely, so there’s that!

Overall, I really enjoyed the book and had a good time with it. At some point I would like to read the first book and eventually the rest of the series.

Thanks to NetGalley and Owl City Press for the arc!!

In the second book in the Witches of Star Island series, readers return to Star island where a group of sister-witches have set up a house. Following Rosemary Bay, a garden witch with an occasionally successful penchant for matchmaking, as she works to discover her soulmate. However, the new sheriff, Asher Evans, in his search for a witch who Rosemary and her sisters had banished to another realm, is making things difficult, and Rosemary has to hide her magic from him. As their chemistry grows, readers discover what Asher Evans is running from and how he was inexplicably drawn to Bay Cottage and Rosemary, but readers will have to discover if this new villain will keep Rosemary and Asher from their happy ending for themselves. With alternating perspectives and a cozy natural magic system, readers will love seeing Rosemary and her sisters work their magic and discover this world again with Asher, and their character chemistry is impeccably written. With the brilliant world-building and the clever tension and magical conflict present throughout the novel, readers will love the stakes involved in this new release and how Rosemary, Asher, and the Bay sisters deal with magical threats to Star Island and their family.

Thanks to NetGalley and City Owl Press for the advance copy.

Bewitching Rosemary definitely furthered my obsession with the Bay sisters of Star Island. Rosemary is an absolute force. She's confident, meddlesome, and unapologetic in her love of plant and sex magic. I adored her direct personality and the way she leans fully into who she is without shame or hesitation. She’s vibrant, powerful, and so much fun to follow on the page.

Asher is the perfect match for her. His take-control, innately protective nature balances Rosemary beautifully, and their chemistry is intense from the start. With Rosemary’s sex magic history and Asher’s energy, the spice is spicy (and gets outdoorsy, more than once). Their connection feels natural and magnetic.

What truly set this book apart for me was their journey into their past life. Those moments were emotional, tender, and surprisingly heavy, and I found myself in tears more than once. Their bond spans lifetimes, so there is that fated insta-love, but it works well here and only deepens the emotional impact of their story. The conflict with the Stoch family also escalates in this book, raising the stakes. I cannot wait to see how everything unfolds in the next installment. I'm excited to read Verbena's soulmate journey.

Book two in The Witches of Star Island series.

Magical sisters living on a small island off the Atlantic coast, knowing that every sister’s soulmate is on their way, Rosemary Bay dreamt about this day since she was 16. But when she comes face to face with Sheriff Asher Evans, she can’t believe he’s her soulmate. Cops and witches don’t mix well.

With their bloodline cursed and danger around the corner, the sisters try to help keep everyone safe. Rosemary now knows that Asher is her future, but can she trust him with her family’s secrets?

Asher Evens just moved here to Star Island and can’t believe he already can’t get this young woman out of his head. Hearing about the Bay sisters and that they are involved with a disappearance, he tries to get more information from one of them. Rosemary Bay. Her smile makes him feel like they’re connected and have known each other for ages…

Sweet, funny and magical, this book takes you on a small journey through time and into the lives of the Bay sisters witches. Sadly the last two chapters felt rushed.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Thank you to Netgalley & City Owl Press for the ARC. All thoughts are my own.

I really enjoyed the story! I haven't read the first book, but I had no problems jumping in. I love how carefree Rosemary is and how comfortable she is with herself and her body. Her reaction to Asher was hilarious and honestly, relatable. How many times have we met an attractive person and been like "Oh no" and made a quick exit?

I'm still not sure how I feel about the past life stuff. I felt like it took me out of the book a bit. I would've rather had just learned more about Asher and Rosemary in the present, and seen them more as a couple. It was interesting but obviously I'm still on the fence about it.

While Rosemary 100% knew who she was and what she wanted, it felt like Asher did too but then he did a complete change. He went from someone who only wanted to be a cop, to someone who was ready to quit. With his history, it made some sense but it still felt a little off to me.

All in all, I enjoyed the vibes and spice! It was a fun little read for this time of year.

I absolutely loved this book, this is book two of a series, but I could be read as a stand alone!

I have read book 1 and loved it, so when I saw book two, I was so excited to be able to continue to follow the lives of the bay sisters, this book followed Rosemary and it did not disappoint!

I loved reading about Rosemary, she is a feisty, no nonsense gal, who I adore! Seeing her interact with her soulmate Asher, was both hilarious and heartwarming. This was we definitely a feel good, romantic read. There was plenty of drama and antics that made this a very enjoyable and unputdownable story.
It was magical and my favourite was reading about Rosemary in her past life with Asher and how they have always been linked, it was just perfect. I shall enjoy continuing my journey, reading about the bay sisters and what the rest have in store, while also dealing with the drama of their curse.
This is definitely perfect for any reader who is a fan of romance and magic, a beautifully written and fun read!

Lovely, cozy and smutty read. Loved it! The idea with the sisters is fantastic and cant wait to read about the others! Would recommend to anybody that likes the mated mates/soulmates trope, some nice smut and an overall cozy vibe with a lovely family setting.
What I liked:
- the smut, really well written, good amount, no complains
- the family, the sisters, its just great and adds so much to the feeling of the book
- the story idea with the soulmates, a curse and a small mystery for each sister to discover their part

What I didnt like:
- the past life part dragged a bit for me and was kind of sad, I see the importance of it and how it enhanced the story but still I feel like it could have been shorter?
- I have so many magical questions that I only hope will be answered in the following books

This is Rosemary's story with Asher who is the new town Sheriff and her soulmate. I loved that we learned new things about the supernatural world and hopefully it will continue to be explored in the series. The Stoch's are something else. I have a theory on what may happened with the Choas one and a certain Bay sister, but I'll keep it to myself. In the past life chapter I did get a bit emotional and especially when Rosemary and Asher woke up from out of the spell. How things really came to light in the present and learning more about Asher. This just has some cozy vibes too making me want to live on Star Island. The way how Verbena depicts Rosemary and Asher's house at the end sounds delightful. I'm just really loving this series and we have at least 3 more to look forward to. I can't wait to read them.

I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
