Rare disease resource for patients and concerned relatives
I am grateful for this resource. Since most medical workers have little or no knowledge of PBC, getting answers is often a hodgepodge of internet searches and tips gathered from advocacy groups on social media. Many patients are treated by a doctor who has only seen a few cases, if any. Thus mis-information can exacerbate the complex issues associated with it.
This book, written by a doctor who specializes in PBC, explains the function of the liver, then takes the disease from diagnoses to symptoms and treatments. Although there is no cure, most aspects are manageable, so this book can certainly help patients.
