Tactically Acquired is the twenty-eighth book in Giulia Lagomarsino's brilliant Owens Protective Services series.

Giulia Lagomarsino truly shines! The book offers a mix of fun, emotional moments, steamy encounters, and plenty of action. I found myself laughing out loud when I wasn't on the edge of my seat from the suspense. The complex storylines and well-developed characters keep me coming back for more. I was so engrossed that I lost track of time, and before I knew it, hours had passed.

What I love about her books is that you never know what to expect. Her characters are opinionated, often speak without a filter, and possess a divine sense of sarcasm. The witty banter and hilarious moments are plentiful, but there's also a strong dose of action, danger, and suspense as they find themselves in various predicaments. I appreciate that we get to experience thrilling adventures—or misadventures—along with a happy ending, or sometimes not.

So, grab a drink or two and settle in for one of the best reads of your life!

This is the 28th book in this phenomenal series and this is Slider and Audrey’s story.
With Cash being AWOL, the team need to take on jobs themselves, and they take on a bodyguard protection job which is to protect actress Audrey, with her best friend / co-star Spencer, and Slider is tasked with teaching her self-defence. However, Audrey has other ideas and stages her own kidnaping, which does not go to plan.
This is a well written easy to read, action packed story, with loyalty, emotions, danger, suspense, intrigue, hilarious antics, tension, twists and turns, humor, witty banter, undeniable chemistry, challenges, and love, which leads to an entertaining, unpredictable, and fun addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

I absolutely loved this book. We got to see some of Reed security as well. I couldn't put the book down once I started.

I loved Slider and Audrey together, they really suit each other. Slider fought his attraction to Audrey from beginning as she's a client but he finally gives in. Audrey ends up in some situations all because she wanted a holiday.

I can't wait for more.

This is Audrey and Slider’s story. She needs protection and he is the one to do that but when she tries to stage a kidnapping it goes all kinds of wrong. She thinks he does not know what he is doing. He is going to teach her a thing or two and along the way she just might figure out how to protect herself. With all the danger going around you will get some close calls and lots of alpha times. Can he really protect her against the danger but also herself?

I recommend this book.

Finally, Slider gets his story...

I was starting to worry that poor Slider would be left behind, but this book proves that he was well worth the wait. What I love about this installment is how it continues the overarching storyline while firmly keeping the spotlight on Slider. His journey feels fresh and distinct, yet still comfortably rooted in the world we know and love.

The plot follows Slider as he takes on the task of "teaching" Audrey—a Hollywood action star with a mind of her own. The catch? Audrey thinks he’s some kind of "rent-a-cop" security guy, and she decides to stage her own kidnapping. Naturally, chaos follows, with a string of kidnappings, rescues, and some hilarious—and surprising—guest appearances from familiar faces in the series.

Honestly, I was prepared to hate Audrey at first. She came off as one of those over-the-top, act-before-thinking characters I usually find tiring. But I’m so glad I stuck with her. As the story progressed, Audrey's layers began to show, and she quickly grew on me.

As for Slider, I didn’t know much about him going in—he’s always played things close to the chest—but he turned out to be just as lovable and entertaining as the rest of the OPS crew. He tries to keep his cool and maintain some distance, but whether it’s to keep the peace or because he genuinely enjoys his team, he inevitably lets them in. That tension is part of what makes him so compelling.

The twists and turns in this book kept me hooked, and the humor—especially near the end—is perfectly timed.

I absolutely loved it, and I can’t wait for the next one!

This book has multiple teases, starting with Kavanaugh who is supposed to be dead asking to do something, he is so bored.

Next, we get a glimpse of Knight watching Cash in a tree looking at a meeting between Shadow and some unknown.

Then comes the meat of the book, Slider and Audrey. As Ops is in trouble due to lack of work since Cash up and disappeared, the group has decided they need to start bringing in some money. They are tasked with protecting an actor and actress from Hollywood, a pair that does action movies.

Little do they know that Audrey and Spencer, mostly Audrey just wants a vacation so she contacts an old lover to pretend to kidnap them so they can disappear for a week or so and just be off everyone's radar.

So, the plan works, or at least they believe it has because they are kidnapped. Then Ops is trying to figure out why they aren't at the airport and find out they have been kidnapped.

This book has so many laughs over how many times two people can actually be kidnapped.
Ops ends up with them and Slider is given personal protection. He tries really hard to keep her at an arm's length, but finds his anatomy won't listen.

This is a must read, laughs, tears, and of course lots of action as always with every one of Giulia's books.

Adventurous

Truly enjoyed Slider, and Audrey's adventurous love story. Along with the secondary characters from OPS and from Reed Security.

It all started with Audrey an actress wanting to go on vacation, hired a security team to pretend to kidnap her and Spencer.

The kidnapping turned out to be real and more than once. Slider and his team where hired as her protector. Slider was in charge to take care of her.
They both did not like each other at all had to learn to get along. Slider called her a female version of IRIS. She called him Baldy.

Lots of twists and turns and lots of action. Risking their lives.
There were so many funny moments amongst everybody. OPS continue to have a great sense of humor and a true bond within each other. Still very strong always having each other's back.
The chemistry was there from the start and of course they connected.
It came to light Audrey had a health issue.
OPS figured out who was behind the kidnapping, set a trap to catch them.
It all came together nicely, everybody was able to head back home to Kansas. My one hope OPS can find a special doctor to cure Audrey"s illness. Nothing is impossible with OPS.
As always Giulia awesome series. Look forward to the next adventure.

Five stars go out to author Giulia Lagomarsino on putting book Number 28 to bed. This is another ballpark hit for her! Like many of the Owens Protective Services books there is more than just one story buried inside the main story. Just as a person can be more than one thing. For instance, a man can be both a hell on wheels warrior and a proficient chef. And a woman can be both a high in demand “dangerous action” movie star while at the same time be a helpless damsel in certain situations. Mick “Slider” Jeffries, aka “Baldy,” is assigned as Audrey Leigh’s personal protection and as they dodge kidnappers he’s tied up in knots because he is supposed to stay professional and never let things stray into personal. Yeah, good luck with that. The beautiful Audrey is getting out of the movie business but she continues to crave the high-level stress that came along with being in action movies. This is a fun read, from the first page to the last.

This was another enjoyable and humorous read that had us laughing out loud. The Reed Security characters added to the witty banter and humor of the story, making it even more entertaining.

Audrey and Slider's story was fantastic, with their chemistry sizzling off the pages. Audrey's seductive charm and Slider's resistance to her allure created a dynamic and engaging relationship. Audrey's down-to-earth personality and Slider's flustered reactions made them a perfect match. Slider's constant state of frustration and the challenges he faced on his protection duty added a comedic element to the story. The fast-paced plot kept us engaged with action, suspense, danger, and intriguing mystery.

The story was filled with surprises and secrets, keeping us on the edge of our seats until the very end. It was satisfying to see Audrey fitting in with the ladies at ops, and the conclusion was just perfect.

Slider will do anything for his team so when they find themselves without a leader he agrees to accept an assignment to protect Audrey and Spencer who are celebrities. He believes that this will be a simple task of showing her how to protect herself while keeping her safe however he soon realizes he only knows part of the story.

Being a celebrity has both its perks and its setbacks. Audrey has her own reasons for hiring Owens Protective Services, but her plans go quickly awry especially when it involves this quirky cast of characters.

The banter between Slider and Audrey as well as the rest of the team is humorous, and the surprises keep coming as they take us a fun and action filled adventure.

2.5 🔥❤️‍🔥

With her usual flair for antics, Giulia Lagomarsino continues the outrageous adventures of Owens Protective Services. As the ongoing story proceeds with the team trying to get Cash back off the edge of vengeance, they still have to keep the business going. Slider's team is assigned to bring a couple of Hollywood action stars back to get some training for a future film. Before we know it, we have three groups trying to either kidnap or rescue our intrepid movie stars, Audrey and Spencer. It was a fun, wild ride as usual with our favorite crazies, Fox, FNG, IRIS, Thumper, and more. Tactically Acquired is fast-paced, funny, and a great addition to the series.

Wanting a vacation from work in the Action Movie industry, Audrey gets ahold of a man from our fave Reed Security group. The plan, kidnap her and her co-worker friend, Spencer. Enter in...everything that could possibly go wrong.
Who is trying to kill Audrey and Spencer? Can Slider keep his emotions in check and protect a woman he can't help but become possessive over? Can Fox handle this woman, or will she be the one to finally make him toss in the towel?
And what secret is Audrey hiding anyway?

You do need to read this series in order.
There is an overall Arc plus each book features one of the men. Things are getting real twisty as the series wraps up.
I'll admit this one was a little hard for me to get into. It does bring in cameos from Reed Security though but with all the different kidnappings of this female lead I couldn't keep up with good guys and bad at first.
But as usual it picks up steam...irons itself out ( see what I did there) and gets better.
There's lots of humor, action and intrique. And as usual twists and turns. Now for the next!

I enjoyed this book much more than the previous so I reflected my rating with that, but coming so close to the ending I did expect more answers. I have a feeling that the author is going to launch them at us so that her readers never recover. Especially since I've barely (not really) recovered from THAT book.
I did love seeing a different side to the male main character, and found the female main character to be inspiring.
Can't wait to get my hands on the next book despite not wanting this series to end, ever.

😂🤣

Loved it. This was a throwback to the earlier OPS books, filled with goofball antics, car chases and crashes, romance, wicked humor, psychotic banter and, of course, funyuns and knives.
There've been quite a few OPS books lately that were very serious and dark, save for outside the wire, which was sweetly goofy and romantic...this was back to the wild rides but the lightness that had been lacking because the storylines were heavy and darker. Glad to have the humor and antics again.

Anyway, when we left OPS Cash is on a quest and our fav group is floundering. However, Locke accepts a job that ends up bringing some excitement and a little danger. Lots of little teasers to start this story off.. all just to make sure you come back for the next one... and we'll be doing that anyway as these stories are so much fun...

Audrey and Slider are really good together, he tires to be professional while she likes pushing as many buttons as she can ... and someone manages to break Fox which is hilarious ...

Great!

I chose this rating because this was a really good book. This was a book of protection, compassion, kindness, awareness, understanding, and being your best self. I enjoyed Slider and Audrey story. They made a very interesting and guffy couple, but they matched each other. The way and how she wanted to take a vacation is way beyond what you can imagine. This is a very interesting book. It will leave you in stitches. Great read! I recommend this book to all romance readers.

The 1st chapter had me hooked, I need to know more about what plans Cash and Knight have, I need the next books now!

After the 1st chapter the book turned to Slider and Audrey’s story which was full of spice and humour, through in Iris and Thumper and you can guarantee plenty of fun and action.

An entertaining story which was an enjoyable read, now I’m ready for the next book in this series!

Tactically Acquired ,OPS Book 28

Giulia Lagomarsino has once again kept me in stitches with her wit and the continuity of OPS, personnel interactions while protecting two of Hollywood's most famous action stars. Multiple attempts are made on their lives. Slider, falls for Audrey, the female lead dressed in leather and high jinx ensues.
