did AI try its hand at mafia romance?
I had to stop. Normally I will read anything, but this was just bad.
There is no character development, in fact Fairy God Mother bibbity bobbity booed each one into being and then fit a story around them keeping each one set into stone. The writing read as a premise fed into an AI generator and this is what came out.
I am really sad because in the right hands a sugar daddy/baby mafia romance could be a new twist on a genre that is being washed, rinsed, and repeated all too often.
I had to stop. Normally I will read anything, but this was just bad.

I did not like the female character. I felt like a lot of the stuff that happened to her was her own fault. If only she would speak up instead of dumb actions. I really just wanted to slap her. Don't care enough to finish the next book.

waste of time
I kept reading and skipping thinking no book is that bad…. Characters not developed, zero plot twists. Relationships not fully explored… the list goes on. The editing uggghhhh!!!

No Thank You
This book started out pretty good. There was a lot of errors but my biggest issue was all of the sex at times that would have been better developing the connection of the two main characters emotionally/mentally instead of physically. *****SPOILERS************
They have sex after her mom dies.
They have sex or a type of sexual foolishness like 2 days after she had a miscarriage. On top of that the MMC basically said that since she didn’t tell him the she was pregnant he had doubts that the baby was even his. They don’t talk or resolve any of that. It just go to be where it was nothing but a physical relationship instead of a deep meaningful relationship. I did stop at the very end. I’m not interested in continuing to the next book either.

Par for the course…
Standard tropes, where he totally comes to the wrong conclusion and throws her out. Doesn’t wait to find out what happened, or even ask what’s going on. He’s a zero.
She’s not too bright either, considering she’s the head accountant. She must have some brains but she’s clueless a lot of the time.
I’ll finish it off and maybe he’ll get his head out of his rear, but seeing as it’s gonna be six years later, with a six year old daughter, I’m guessing he’s been out shagging anything with a pulse. These men can’t live without it, but they don’t seem real competent in the business sense. You never jump to a conclusion without knowing the facts…

Disappointed
First off, I I'll give credit to the author for writing the book because im sure that's not an easy task. And while i didn't enjoy the book, others may find it great! I didn't feel like the books flowed well at all, and some points had me confused. It seemed like there were just random ideas thrown in the book, and it wasn't thought out beforehand. Parts where there should have been more detail to help with better understanding in the later part of the book would have been helpful. Just overall, I didn't enjoy the book and won't go on to book two.

This is really bad. A cancer patient doing experimental treatment would never be on a transplant list. Transplants require healthy organs and a cancer ridden body does not have healthy organs. A story editor is needed because the timeline is a mess.
I'm even questioning whether this author is a woman. The sex scenes? I started skipping pages of the sex because it's just bad. The 'high libido' in the FMC seems like a man's fantasy. Not the libido, but the way her libido is discussed seems like it was written by a man.

I wanted to give it a try cause i liked the blurb.
Got around 17% and could not continue.
Excluding typos, the plot is bad. Ideas not mixing well, the dialogue is so bad that it feels like a teenager s first try at a book. The author gets confused in main driving key plots.
The characters are not likeable. The Fmc is having drama for the sake of drama, the MC has a flat personality.
This book was supposed to be a dark romance, mafia book. The only dark thing about the mc is his hair...
He's only imposing because the author said so, not through his actions....

Many things wrong in general but one of the early plot points was that a donor organ was on a ship that sank but one quick Google search confirmed that a donor organ only lasts hours before transplant so why wasn’t it on a plane for transatlantic transport??

Mindy Williams works for Maron Korolev. A part of her thinks Maron is very handsome and sexy, but obviously off-limits to her. Mindy is engaged to Maurice Korolev who she believes is not related to her boss. Mindy has a very high libido that Maurice can’t keep up with. 4.5 stars!! This is the first book in the duet by Lisa Lovell. Aaron runs the Bratva, and his cover business as the CEO of Global Media also made him a billionaire. He is an alpha through and through and wants what he wants. Then there is Mindy, who is the head accountant for Global Media. She thinks Maron is gorgeous but a total butt hole. She has had lots of issues in her life and tons of stressors, though she thought things were starting to turn for the better. She had a good guy and was going to start IVF so they could have a baby when it all came crashing down. When she wants to spice up their love life, she sends him some nudes and a sexy video, but in error, she sent it to her boss Marion. Maurice, her boyfriend, ends up breaking it off with her, and she realizes he has a gambling and alcohol problem. At the same time, Marion decides to make Mindy his, and he gets what he wants. There are lots of twists and turns along with tons of angst that keeps you reading to the last page.

This one was definitely interesting and when I first met Maron I wasn’t sure about him apart from the fact that he was the typical billionaire boss who is part of the Bratva. Mindy was the chief accountant for Marons company and worked very closely with him and had always had underlying feelings . Their story was honestly so crazy and they were utterly obsessed with one another and the spice was 🔥. The way that they were together was so cute. Also the relationships in this story were very strong especially on Marons side like the connection he had with his brothers and mother was unbreakable . Which contrasted to Mindys strained relationship with her sister . All in all this book was great and the way that it ended was such a shock!!!

I was really disappointed in a lot of this book and felt it unrealistic. For someone supposedly the head of the Russian Bratva, I felt this guy was more like a boy in Bratva clothing than what I thought he should be. I expected firm, ruthless, take charge, instead we got indecisive and insecure. Ready to hand off the major business decisions for the continuation of his life and success to a proven out of control gambler and alcoholic half-brother that he isn’t even close to! Who does that? Falling in love with someone without questioning them or investigating their situation or those around them simply does not hold water. Giving it a 4⭐️. Is probably pushing it and I’ll probably kick myself for downloading book#2, but I’m hoping for a happy ending.🤷🏼♀️

Steamy and romantic in an off beat way. Main is very much an alpha in and out of the bedroom. After she sends her pics by mistake to her boss he decides he wants her and he gives her no choice about it. And that leads to all sorts of trouble.
The dynamic between them though is fiesty and passionate with a prison edge to their relationship. Mindy feels trapped and the relationship is ever evolving.
Very well done. A really enjoyable book and on to the second half of the duet. Great book!

This book to good
Look guys I really never write reviews because I am usually lazy to write it but this book is so amazing like it has the best storyline ever guys. When I say the best storyline it will leave you in chokehold not even just that the plot twist is crazy and it keeps getting crazy and crazier guys I don’t understand. I am literally so shocked about this book like you guys don’t understand like this book is crazy and now I’m about to read the next book and I know it’s gonna eat down.PERIOD

Damn! This book hits all the feels. There were some parts that irritated me, but when I thought about it, were unfortunately true to a budding relationship. Both Maron and Mindy should have been more open, not only about their feelings, but the other stuff. It could have saved them a lot of heartache. I get loving your family, but the blindness both Maron and Mindy had for their siblings made me so stinking angry!!! I pray to the author gods that Alexis gets what she deserves and more. She's a piece of garbage for what she's done to Mindy and to Maron whose trying to better the world. I'm so angry and frustrated! I need to be done with book 2 like now. I need answers.

This is Korolev Bratva - Book One of Duet It does end on a big cliffhanger.
This book was easy to get glued to pages but in the middle lost my interest as it got repetitive.
The characters were well thought out they just drove me crazy sometimes, okay maybe more than sometimes lol
It's definitely got delicious steaminess and your usual Mafia-type violence and themes.
The cliffhanger leaves you hanging and I can't wait to see how the author plays out things.
I received an advanced reader copy for free and am leaving an honest voluntary review

I understand that there is a part 2 to this series and I am hopeful that they will get their HEA.
Now!!!! Maron Is for sure a Villian the nasty pakan. He never and I mean NEVER allows Mindy to defend herself. He just jumps to conclusions and decides what the truth is. This has turned me off.
I am only reading the part 2. I because they get their HEA. I have had to mantra. This is the way it's written. But what a jerk!(pg version)
I hope that in part 2 he at least listens before he jumps to conclusions but I am not going to hold my breath.

Mindy and Maron's story is so intense there, chemistry is of the charts.
There lives our about to be turned upside down all because of an email for the better until family member betray them in the worst way, but Maron is too blind to see the truth of it all and truns his back on Mindy.
And that is where you are left on a cliffhanger of what happens next so on to Ruthless Serenade to find out if true love wins out or not finger crossed it does.

This was a great read. I loved how Maron and Mindy work together. What’s the odds of them both having that attraction to eachother and all
It takes it an email sent to the wrong person for them to act on it? What are the chances that Mindy’s longterm boyfriend is an absolute loser and is also her bosses brother?
Such a great read. Lots of suspense. Mindy’s sister is an absolute piece of garbage. So is Maron’s brother. Will Mindy be able to tell him the truth before it’s too late?

This book is very steamy, which helped for a while to distract from its main flaw: far, far too many subplots. There is his mother and his brother and his daughter and her mother and her sister and her ex who she doesn’t realize is his brother and the organ subplot and the drug subplot and way way too much going on. This would have been a much better book if the author had chosen one or two of these and gotten rid of the rest.

Made Mindy feel guilty about every decision she made. Until it was to late. Maurice, ex boyfriend, he was not right for her. Her sex drive could handle hers. She could not stand her boss the way he treat her, it was hard to handle.
This story turned out to be a love triangle. Lots of half truth and betrayal.

If you like mafia stories then this is definitely for you. We are introduced to Mindy and Maron with an email sent to the wrong person setting off a chain of events that will change both their lives. Emotional and full of suspense you will find it difficult to put this book down. Ending on a cliffhanger I can't wait to find out what happens next.
