A woman and a man become trapped in an elevator. Their interaction moves from disregard to tolerance to friendliness as they pass the time. In the second part of the story, something clearly has changed, as now an elderly woman and elderly man (the same two people?) are stuck in the same elevator in the same clothes with the same objects.

A very odd short story
