Mystery Meat: Murder never tasted so good

Rate this book
Some legends are born. Some are made. And some... just want to make rent.

Kicked out of the SEALs. Fired by the FBI. Blacklisted by every hostage rescue team in the English-speaking world—and a few that speak Tagalog. If you're Gladys (he hates that name) Bucephalus (that one, too) Becker, that only leaves one driving a promotional vehicle shaped like a canned ham.

But keeping that job isn't as easy as it sounds—especially when customers start dropping dead after enjoying his employer’s beloved Premium Ham in Spicy Herbs (PHiSH). Beneath the cheap company jacket, Becker is a former elite operative with a knack for finding trouble. But this time, he might be in over his head.

As he dives deeper into the mystery, Becker finds himself caught in a tangled web of secrets, sabotage, and unexpected enemies. And while he doesn’t mind someone trying to add his name to the growing list of bodies—it’s all part of the gig—he’d rather no one peek into the freezer in the back of his rig, the one hiding a corpse he’s been meaning to deal with.
If you love the high-octane thrills of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher series combined with the irreverent humor of Fletch, Mystery Meat is a must-read. With a flawed but relentless protagonist and a twisted plot that will keep you guessing until the very end, this book is your next great adventure.

This was such a fun read. J Kwellen is a talented writer and smoothly delivered a quick witted mystery which had me equally laughing and in suspense. Becker is an interesting, complex leading man and I look forward to more in the next installment Dead Meat!
