“Every woman deserves to be loved correctly, out loud, and purely.”- C. Wilson
Not going to lie, I have been waiting for this release. C. Wilson has captivated me with her writing style, plot, and emotional intelligence shown throughout her writing. Disclaimer:This is the third book in the series, so if you have not read the prior two books, PLEASE STOP and read those first. Side note Disclaimer:95% of the things I read have a trigger warning and I love it. Protect your peace at all cost!! This is one book that does not have a full page of triggers. There are some sensitive issues discussed, but written to bring awareness.
Like all of my reviews, I wont spoil it for you, but we have made it to the characters Amani and Matthew, a man I love to hate.🤷🏽♀️ Ever imagine spinning the block years later, but it’s everything you both needed? Yes! That is what C.Wilson has written in this second chance love. Emotionally charged and a lot of plot filled these pages.I would be remised if I didn’t say that my favorite thing about this book is the character development and growth. It was literally written to perfection even with the time skip. I was enjoyably shocked throughout the entire book and the playlist was fire.
I would say the only miss I got was no spice compared to the pervious books. (Mama loves the spice). I know some people will like that, so it is not reflected in my review rating. You will love this book if you love or want to explore contemporary urban fiction. If you love the tropes to the right, this book is a must have for you. The step daddies matter trope has officially gotten me i a chokehold. Happy Reading!
Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Spice: None (based on my own delu lu scale)
In my review for Forever My Man, I asked for a spin-off with Amani and Matthew and Ms. C. Wilson, you delivered. This story was raw, emotional, and exactly what their characters needed.
From the start, I could only imagine what Amani was carrying, and without giving anything away, the way her past is revealed is both heartbreaking and complicated, exposing truths she never had the chance to confront. Matthew truly showed up for Amani every step of the way, offering patience, support, and consistency when she needed it most.
I had high hopes that Matthew would finally get his act together, and I’m glad the journey led them to a well-earned happily ever after. I’m a sucker for a second-chance trope, and this one delivered.
A Heartfelt Praise for Amani and Matthew’s Love Story
I just finished reading Forever Us: Amani & Matthew (Forever Series) by C. Wilson and can I tell you C. Wilson, you answered a reader’s question with the Amani and Matthew romance, and you burned that story into those pages. The sadness, love, support, and redemption—everything lands perfectly. You made it clear to readers that it’s okay to say you need help and to seek it, and you showed that therapy can work. I adore their story and how gently you told it. Yes, another novella, but well done—4 stars. Who else loved this ending for this series? I definitely did.
Top 5 favorite novellas ever. The story was so engaging and suspenseful that I could not put the book down. I appreciated the multiple points of view from 4 different characters, and the drama was believable and not ‘what in the Tyler Perry is going on???’-esque. Lololol.
This definitely made me revisit some of my current dating standards, and I can say in all confidence that I will not be changing any of them after this read. 5 years of dating and no ring? No thank you. A child to parent with a raggedy bio-parent in the co-parenting arrangement? No thank you. Whewwwww!

The story of Amani & Matthew was excellent. Sometimes, a person has to grow to see that the person they were meant to be with was standing in front of the whole time. I felt bad for Amani because she had to go through so much in this series. I am glad she was able to heal and find her true love. Matthew also grew throughout the series. It was about finding love, losing love, and healing. Then, they found love again.
I love that Matthew and Amani got their happy ending. Matthew grew up and learned to become a great man. Amani broke my heart when she tried to kill herself especially reading how Matthew found his foster mother. I loved the first two books but with this one, I felt like I didn’t get enough of Matthew and Amani.
This was a beautiful story. It had some tragedy as well as triumphs. The growth over the years was amazing to see. I almost shed tears. If it’s meant to be, it will happen.
