Tom Hamilton is in big trouble. He and his new best buddy, Vince, have a lot in common – they read the same books, have similar backgrounds and interests, like the same music and play in a band together. Their wives are inseparable, their teenagers are dating, and their younger kids are pals.
So what's the problem? It turns out that Vince is reputedly the local organized crime boss. Now people in their small Connecticut town are eyeing Tom with suspicion, the Feds are keeping tabs on him, and one of Vince’s “business associates” is out to get him.

I was expecting a rough and tumble type of tale with lots of tough guys. What I got was a wonderful surprise. Yeah it had some of the tough guy stuff but the main characters were fully fleshed out complex people. the draw for me was the interplay between the characters the influence of good over evil and the triumph of kindness. a nice read.
