One True Mate

Let's Talk One True Mate

Rate this book
It's been four long years since the last book in the One True Mate series (book 10) came out. So what happened?

Did I stop writing? Nope.

Did the story knock me on the ground and drag me through the mud? Heck, yes.

Here's the deal—when I realized I wasn't going to finish One True Mate 11 in 2024, I took four months off from working on it, and started the only thing that wouldn't shift my focus too far away from it, and that's where we are now. This is it, this book right here.

Let's Talk One True Mate Volume 1 is meant to be a companion book and insider's guide to the series, containing character information, story details, maps of Serenity, plus a whole lot of other fun and interesting tidbits. In it, I reveal what state 11 is in right now (working SO hard on it), and I include a generalized retelling of what's happened in the series so far (picture it, Serenity, 2016…), told by Timber and Canyon.

Pssstt, plus a sneak peek of 11! Shhh, don’t tell anyone.

This book is packed with an illegal amount of exclusive fiction for a companion book, but since there's no book police, we're good to go, so let's do it! Let's Talk One True Mate!

Let's Talk One True Mate (One True Mate Companion Book #1) gives you more to love, and catch up with the characters and the goings on from a series we have all grown to love.

Lisa does what Lisa does best, and that is to weave a story that pulls you in with wonderful writing that makes you laugh out loud, cry at times, and feel like you are right there for the characters. This is one read you will not want to miss.

Conri brought Sage flowers and said he was dating her. (seen in book 9, Troy and Reed).
Why remind us if they're not getting a book? Sage better not be mated to one of the other three.

The author shows us an image of where she is chapter wise with Book 11 and says she's half way thru. It shows 245 pages!!!!!!! Longer is not better. Book 11's prologues did not have to be as long as they were and could have just been one prologue.
I don't recall reading in Book 10 that Ella was pregnant again. I mean we knew it was coming because of her prophecy but I don't remember reading it and I literally just finished it. This is what happens when authors add too many words just to make a story longer. My eyes start to glaze over and I miss small details. I completely missed Troy and Track shifting but I blame boring Harlan and Eventine for that because I skimmed then skipped to the end lol

I guess this retelling was good for those that didn't read the stories back to back. It was nice to find out about Troy shifting tho lol

I know I am not the only who has missed these voices the past few years. I especially appreciated the whole series refresher through the minds of Canyon and Timber. The method in which Lisa laid it out all for us was easy to read and understand, made more exciting when their antics were included.

The prologue to book 11 that was included has me very excited waiting for the actual book to come out! I feel like we will finally get some answers that we have been speculating on or waiting for, including more information on the elusive Mrs. White.

Let's Talk!

It's Lisa Ladew, so it's definitely worth it

Minor editing needs (missing words here and there, punctuation missing)

Want a quick refresher and a nudge to reread the series? This is a *must have* and will go in my to buy list (borrowed via KU)

What an awesome idea! To put together such a companion book has helped me realize some things I’d forgotten.

The author’s explanation of the series so far, and even future books, has me so excited for OTM 11.
