4.25 stars.

The addition of a new character was a bit pointless, but yes to more small additions like Arland exploring a supermarket, please 😂

I will never get tired of consuming this story. The graphic audio production is my favorite but this was so much fun too.

A wonderful companion to the novels

I wouldn’t recommend reading this before or instead of the novels (which are some of my favorite books of all time), they are an amazing companion to go with them for a comfort reread. Highly recommend.

Summary:

Dina Demille has worked very hard to pass as an ordinary human. This is how she protects her Inn and the guests inside. Unfortunately, recent events have made it impossible for her to sit and watch.

There’s an alien monster hunting the citizens of her town, and Dina will not let that stand. So she’ll ally with the local werewolf and a vampire if that’s what it takes to deal with the threat. It doesn’t even matter that Innkeepers aren’t supposed to do this.

Review:

If you gave me a million different versions of Clean Sweep, I’d read them All. This is the second installment in The Innkeeper Chronicles: Clean Sweep The Graphic Novel, and I loved it just as much as the first.

Side note: there are differences between the graphic novel and the book version. This was done to stretch the first book into a full season for Tapas. There are additional characters and minor plots. So there’s something new even for those who have read the book a million times.

This volume wraps up the first major arc of the series, bringing the monster alien mess to a close. Obviously, it’s quite dramatic, messy, and fun. I highly recommend it to any reader, even those unfamiliar with Ilona Andrews.

My only regret is the uncertainty of getting any more. I know the person originally pushing for Innkepper on Tapas has left the company, so I have no idea if that means the project is over or if it’ll continue with new management. If anybody hears any news, please let me know! Either way, it was the perfect conclusion and has 100% made me want to go back and reread the original series (again). Maybe I’ll listen to the audiobooks this time.

Last year, I wish the graphic novel adaption of Clean Sweep volume 2 will be released in end 2024, but actually the book released in early 2025. Just like volume 1, there's some changes compared to the original material but I can't compare because it had been more than 10 years since I read Clean Sweep. However, I still can enjoy this graphic novel without too much wuss about what change or whatnot.

Volume 2 covered episode 26 to episode finale in Tapas. The story also continued from volume 1, Dina got hurt after facing Dahaka's stalkers and the truth behind Dahaka attack got revealed together with Arland's purpose in coming to Earth. Sean getting an upgrade from a mysterious werewolf in Bahachar while also meet a member of the Sun Horde. I don't really remember if that happen in the book, lol. The art is pretty subpar for my taste but the lineart is defined enough and Shinju Ageha can capture the character's expression, adding some humor to the story. Although, I notice that the action scene were draw to simple. Nothing flashy though, but some panel can be too confusing to read. The Dahaka art is pretty dark and the place that become their battlefield also dark so the art kinda blending and indistinguishable. Some violence acts got blurred especially the scene when Arland decapitate his enemy. Maybe the physical book version cater more into young adult/teenager hence the blurring scene.

There's no news if Tapas will also adapted book 2 Sweep in Peace so Dina, Sean and Arland's adventure kinda wrapped up in this volume. I like the Twilight joke since Sean and Arland are both werewolf and vampire, respectively. There are some romantic moments between Dina and Sean, a hint to what come in the future. This book also have some bonus scene in the end that detailed of what happen for Sean after leaving Gertrude Hunt and going to Nexus.

A nice adaption that I'm sure can be enjoyed if you are Ilona Andrews fans and also a nice introduction to new reader to the world of the Innkeeper Chronicles

I really liked volume 2, so I'm glad I stayed with it after my lukewarm feelings for the first volume. The script was better and felt more like the tone of the novels, and I loved the art. It will be fun if they keep adapting them!

If I didn't read the original series, I would've rated it higher. But, since I did...

I like the original better. The added content felt like filler, like the book needed to be at least x number of pages. It didn't move the story along and truthfully, it took away from Sean's character. Arland didn't need those extra panels/scenes (whatever they're called). He already knew about Bahar char and Nuan Cee. Sean didn't. So the dialogue made sense when Sean spoke it. Not so much when Arland did. What REALLY bothered me was how weak Dina was portrayed. So, yeah. Three stars.

It is fun to see the interpretation of this well loved novel. This second volume does the Innkeeper Chronicles with justice. We were able to see a little bit more about a different species that isn't mentioned much in the author's original storyline. I am intrigued. The graphics on this are beautiful. The inking is well done. The timing and the story panels are perfect. I really enjoyed reading this book and it is definitely well worth it. For graphic novel fans, this is a winner.

One less star for unnecessarily changing the plot slightly and adding new characters.

After reading volume one, I was eager to press forward into the second half of the Clean Sweep Graphic Novel story. Ilona Andrews' story was adapted by ChrossxXxRodes and illustrated by Shiaju Ageha for a sound partnership.

Whether one has read the Innkeeper Chronicles' first book, Clean Sweep or not, this graphic edition offers something original for all. I saw some small changes to the story in the first half that didn't alter the major plot points, but was delightfully surprised to get a brand new (never-before-seen) character and side plot in this second volume that fit well without altering the bigger story.

Dina and Sean had a fun bantering beginning partnership both on their mission to get the Dahaka and his vicious creatures dealt with and in the sizzling attraction. Arland's charming presence and Her Grace Caldenia's galactic experience and wit were well-displayed.

Again, the illustrations do great at showing facial expression and body movement, tone of the scene, and overall satisfying visual experience.

Clean Sweep is wrapped up in this second volume and I absolutely adored getting that final few pages of a scene from the story from Wilmosh's perspective. Great extra! So, if you loved what you got in Clean Sweep v. 1, this one raises the ante rather well.

Series: Innkeeper Chronicles #2
Rating: 4 stars - It was really good

This volume finishes the Clean Sweep story by picking up where the previous volume left off, at around Ch. 12 of the novel and at Chapter 25 on Tapas.
As a fan of the Innkeeper Chronicles, I love that we are getting a graphic version. It really brings the story to life and gives an image to the characters and aliens that can sometimes be hard to imagine from the descriptions.

This volume concludes the fight against the alien pack attacking the town. We learn their true reason for being on Earth and why they are after the vampires. I really enjoyed seeing the battle at Gertrude Hunt illustrated and the growing feelings between Dina and Sean. I really hope this series continues to be turned into graphic novels because they are really well done.

The story is great the animation I'm not so much of a fan. The artist's (there were two I believe) have two very distinct styles. One draws everybody very young looking ( think late teens) very thin with pale.faces and pointy chins. The other draws the characters to look like those funny dolls with the short squat bodies and overlarge heads they also seem very childlike. This honestly kept disconcerting me, like going between two different books. Also the action scenes seem to have been drawn in a way that hides the violence when fighting is occuring. At least that's my view. Maybe this graphic novel is meant for a younger audience. I am getting quite old. Would have been three stars for these reasons but this is a great book so my advice .....read the novel......

I’m sorry to say that I really didn’t like this volume. I don’t know if it’s the media type, or the changes they made, but the original novella was much better. I’m not fond of the artwork, which feels a little off in perspective. The introduction of one of the Sun Horde was unnecessary, and overall I was exasperated by the changes in the storyline and the battle with the dahaka. Why was there a second one? IIRC they are lone hunters. I also think they made him excessively strong, since he managed to sneak into the Krahr stronghold and assassinate the aunt, plus kill 2 vampire men at arms and almost kill Soren, the were cat, Sean and Arlan’s struggled with him while working as a team. We keep hearing of the martial prowess of all of these species, yet one dahaka did all that?

The bonus story made no sense because Nuan Cee never met Sean to want him as a fighter. In this version, he never gets past Wilmos and Dina has to come back to bargain.

-4 stars. this is the second half of the graphic novel adaptation for Clean Sweep.
i liked the regular novel better. the illustrations are way too *cutesy* for my taste. they're a bit childish with the big huge eyes. i guess i'd say they're more manga/anime style where i prefer a more realistic comic-book style of illustrating. i mean don't get me wrong, the graphic novel is not bad! its still a great story!! i just prefer less cutesy artwork. it kept distracting me from the story. and since i love the original book its adapted from, the graphic novel can't quite compete with the original.

This was a cute graphic novel adaptation of the second half of Clean Sweep, the first book in the Innkeeper series. Ilona Andrews is my favorite author team and Innkeeper is my comfort series, so any diversions in the adaptation were going to be hard for me, but I like the way part 1 was adapted more. Part 2 had more diversions from the book and I wasn’t a big fan of some added characters and plot lines, so I deducted 1 star. It’s still a worthwhile adaptation and I loved having a graphic novel of this book for my home library.

Loved this. Makes me want to reread the books. I enjoy the artwork and this medium for telling the story. There are some additions to this that are different from the original books and I liked those as well. Some favourite moments are Arland and the supermarket, seeing the adorable Nuan Cee (seriously I just want to cuddle it), and the silly twilight jokes. I also loved the bonus written scene at the end with Sean and Wilmos talking about Nexus.
I hope that the second book gets made into a comic as I want to continue seeing the story in artform.

This is part 2 of the graphic novelization of Clean Sweep.

The art work was all right. It's the story I have a problem with. Author has only 2 published works on GoodReads. She admits to authoring Fanfic, which I believe. It seems this part had some creative tinkering which I just didn't like. I just wasn't feeling this.

Very good adaptation to the novel. The text stays true to the feel and intent of the characters and the illustrations are well done. It is rare I enjoy a graphic of a novel I already read, but I did so with this one and am hoping the authors and illustrator continue to produce graphic novels for the continuation of the Clean Sweep series.

Really loved these!!! I haven't read the novels, but the 2 graphic novel renditions of this story got me hooked and I hope they do more! The art was really intricate and well done, fully in color. I love how the artist switched to chibi form during less serious cutaway moments. The story was super engaging and I couldn't put it down! Hoping they continue this series in the graphic novel format!

This was pretty much plain awful. This 2nd half of the adaptation needs a bunch of diversions to keep the page count up. The story is just all over the place. The art is terrible. Just go read the book instead.

This is a graphic novel adaptation in Tapas, and I honestly loved seeing this world come to life. You reach a point where you have to start buying chapters with ink, but I would happily unlock one chapter a week and I am kind of sad that they stopped the adaptation.

Again, it's fun to see Ilona Andrews works translated into a visual medium. I feel like they added a few things just for this which is fun. I just finished my complete Ilona Andrews reread. I guess the Graphic Audio versions are next.

I really enjoyed the novel for this series, so at first, I wasn't tempted by the graphic. After perusing through it, I found it slightly different from the novel. it was a bold choice but one that I enjoyed.

I love the story and series but I struggled with the graphic novel. Part 2 more than part 1. I had to keep renewing it from the library. I do hope they continue to adapt the series though because there are some truly epic battles on the horizon.

Innkeeper Chronicles Volume 2: Clean Sweep The Graphic Novel (The Innkeeper Chronicles) by Ilona Andrews – I love this series in all its forms, but I think the graphic novel format suits the way that the Andrews tell stories! Happy Reading!
