For years I’ve avoided love. It had no place in my life since there was no one who could replace Thomas Hughes, my high school sweetheart.

I had done so well to ignore my feelings all these years, until now. The starting quarterback of the Crescent City Kings, Shyloh Mendoza, is hell bent on changing that part about me, and the scariest part is… he might.

Becca Dawson is easily the most stubborn yet attractive woman I’d ever met. Usually I could melt women in the palm of my hands, or the sound of my voice, but not with her. She was different, special, and downright mean to me. She’d be in love with me in no time, guarantee it.

Okay, how is that Britt Stark can right such a swoony MMC with the softest gooey heart and yearning that makes me cry? Cause I cried.

Sweet sweet Shyloh. 🥹😭 Becca made him WORK for it, and work was what he did. He put in 110% and it was just the sweetest.

The banter between these two was so funny, I couldn’t get enough. It was a delicious slow burn with ALL the angst and yearning a girl could hope for.

There was heartbreak, there was comedic relief, there was hot spice, and there was raw emotion.

Shyloh is your next sports romance book boyfriend, mark my words. ❤️

*Reserved for Her* is the perfect blend of swoon-worthy romance, emotional depth, and some seriously hot moments. From the start, I couldn’t put it down, thanks to the well paced plot that balances heartache with steamy chemistry (which, by the way, is written really well — no awkward cringes here).

Let’s talk about Shyloh for a second. *WOW*. He’s the book boyfriend you didn’t know you needed — charming, caring, and loyal to a fault. If you’re into guys who are not only good-looking but also emotionally available, Shyloh’s your man. (Seriously, someone send him my way.)

Becca, our female lead, is no slouch either. She’s got boundaries, brains, and knows exactly how to stand up for herself without being a total hardass. I loved watching her grow and make decisions that felt real and empowering.

The way the book handles loss is another win. It’s treated with such care and subtlety, never coming off as forced or overly dramatic.

In short, *Reserved for Her* is a steamy, heartfelt ride with great characters and plenty of laughs. Perfect for anyone who loves romance with a little extra spice and a lot of heart.

Loved, Loved, Loved! This was such a cute little romance that touched on the deep topics of grief, and the forms that it can come in, via a loss of a special person, or the loss of a dream. Britt did such an amazing job encompassing grief with acceptance and growth, and sprinkled in some spice along the way.

This book made me feel, It made me laugh, and it made me swoon. Shy is literally the best book boyfriend! Even after everything Becs put him through, he stayed true to himself and his feelings and helloooo, love conqueres all! This was a fast read for me, but it still had the depth and it did not feel rushed.

Thank you Britt for gifting me your ARC for an honest review! I very much enjoyed diving into the Crescent City Kings universe!

No spoilers. Read via kindle unlimited.

This was such a quick fast paced read which makes for a instalove trope, but it worked in the storyline. The storyline has you intrigued and it has heavy moments, but also funny moments. Definitely need to read the first one before you read this one as it’s easier to understand the FMC. These characters are enjoyable, and I love that you still get lots of the first book FMC and MMC in this book also. Can’t wait to read the next one, as I did read the sneak peek at the end.

Would I recommend? Yes, I really enjoy a good sports (football) romance with spice. Also enjoy this indie authors writing style.

Chapters 36/37 and epilogue

Roller coaster of emotions I tell you and what a cute
moment at the football game.
We have another heart rate rising moment as well.
The epilogue was so sweet I loved it.
I CAN'T WAIT for book 3

Chapters 31-35

Heart rate rising after heart rate rising wow Britt what are you doing to us !
There is a sweet moment between Shy and Becca.when she
talks about her past
These chapters take you on a roller coaster with emotions.

I have two more chapters to go and I can't wait to find out what happens.

Chapters 26-30

These chapters will have you on the edge of
where ever you are reading this book.
It was the flip side of what happening in the beginning of the book. This time the other person stood with the other person
until the other person felt better.

The rest of the chapter was so sweet especially the ending.

I CAN'T WAIT to read more

Chapters 21-25

Does everyone know what's happening between Shy
and Becca or just the matchmaker?
We're going camping now,We're on our way!

I love the continuing banter between Shy and Becca.
They also have tension(the good one),and they
are flirting with each other in front of the group.

We also have a heart rate rising moment.
The most of Chapter 25
will have you giggling(oh just maybe me) and the rest will
have you saying just listen.

I CAN'T WAIT to read more!

Chapters 16-20

There is a certain person in the group that is playing match maker. Will we be seeing some friendly terms with Becca and Shy?

Britt needs to send or sell stuffy skunks, this will go perfect with book 2,oh book 1 should have a scavenger hunt,I seen it once in a book mail videos, where you went to a certain page and opened a gift and it had something to do with books or the story.

Who knew rain could be so fun and turn coldness into hot.
We do have some teasing going on thanks to the matchmaker.
What first was a nice lazy day at the camp turned stinky!
I was cranking up laughing when I read the end of chapter 18.
Chapter 19 and 20 are my favorite chapters.

I CAN'T WAIT to read more

Chapters 11-15

Okay I can breathe now ......
These chapters still have you on a rollercoaster.
It is sad also and you will be saying OH wow out loud.
The sadness will turn around though and the rest of
the chapter will have banter again.

I CAN'T WAIT to read more

Chapters 6-10

We are still on the adventure with Shy and Becca,
I finally found out why there is a picture of a skunk,
(good one Britt,I still say you should have a stuffy humming
skunk lol).

I love how they are back and forth with each other,
and I love that Conrad and Lenna are part of the story as well.
Part of chapter 7 gives a heart rate rising moment and it's still early, but of course there is an interruption.

Chapters 9 and 10 takes you on an emotional rollercoaster
and it's so sad,of course I can't wait to read more, but I am nervous. Its only half of the book and I'm getting book anxiety already.

We are back for book 2
Crescent City Kings Football)
Reserved for Her

Even before I started the story in the Prologue there is a picture of a skunk,I've only read 5 chapters and the skunk is still there.
This is bugging me and I can't wait to find out why it's there.

So for this book in my head the character of
Shyloh is
Roman Reigns(My favorite WWE Wrestler)
Becca I am picturing Briann-Brie Garcia/Danielson
(ex WWE wrestler,podcast host )

Chapters 1-5

This story takes on an adventure with Lenna's bestfriend
Becca (we find out a discussion that Becca and Lenna:s older brother, who was also the love of her life had before the incident, that changed everyone's lives, and also what happened with Becca and Lenna's younger brother.)
and guess who is joining her on this adventure,
Shyloh Mendoza(Quarterback ).

We have a cat and mouse game happening,
they are always showing up to places in town .
Question though ladies I didn't know that our special
parts can hum, did you?

What is with the picture of the Skunk?
What will happen between Becca and Shy?
Will Becca stay in town long enough to find out?

I CAN'T WAIT to read more

This book was a rollercoaster of emotions. From the past trauma, to current trauma, poor Shyloh and Becca have been THROUGH it.

Shyloh is the charming quarterback of the Crescent City Kings and he is the biggest golden retriever. He just wants everyone around him to be happy and to like him. His growth throughout the book was exceptional, especially after his career unexpectedly ends. So heartbreaking. His antics were so goofy and I just loved his energy. The way he fought for Becca to give him a chance was so sweet and I loved his tenacity. He knew what he wanted and he wasn’t giving up until he had it.

Becca is a bit more prickly - she is definitely the grumpy one in their dynamic. She has been through it - she lost the only boy she has ever loved in an accident that almost killed her too. It’s understandable that she would be closed off - angry at the world, terrified it might happen again. Her growth throughout the book was slow and steady, but I was so proud of her in the end. She deserves all the happiness and I’m so glad she realized that too.

Their chemistry was dripping from the pages (even if Becca fought tooth and nail to ignore it). Shy was constantly showing up in Becca’s world and did his best to worm his way into her life. He was eventually successful, and proved to her that they were worth it. I just loved their relationship - their banter was amazing and the spice was spicing!. The mouth on that man! 🔥

I can’t wait to see what happens next in Jordy’s story.

Britt Stark’s Reserved for Her delivers a heartfelt sports romance that balances stubborn characters, sizzling chemistry, and emotional depth. It’s a story of second chances, moving on, and finding love when you least expect it.

The dual perspectives of Becca Dawson and Shyloh Mendoza are engaging and offer a fresh take on the classic opposites attract trope. Becca’s reluctance to let go of her past and open herself up to love again is relatable and deeply emotional. Her internal battle with grief over Thomas Hughes is raw, and Britt Stark writes it in a way that feels authentic.

Shyloh, on the other hand, is a charismatic and determined quarterback who brings both humor and heart to the story. His unwavering determination to win Becca over—despite her resistance and often prickly demeanor—makes him a lovable and memorable hero. Watching him chip away at her walls is as satisfying as it is swoony.

The chemistry between Becca and Shyloh is undeniable, though I found myself wanting more build-up in the earlier stages of their relationship. The witty banter and tension are on point, but the story occasionally rushes moments where deeper emotional development would have added more weight to their connection.

That said, Reserved for Her doesn’t shy away from addressing themes of loss, vulnerability, and healing. These moments add depth and keep the story grounded while still delivering plenty of lighthearted and steamy moments that fans of sports romance will adore.

If you love a determined MMC, a fiercely independent FMC, and the sweet but spicy journey of finding love after loss, Reserved for Her will hit all the right notes. It’s a warm, heartfelt read with just the right amount of drama to keep you hooked until the very last page.

Thank you to Britt Stark for the eARC of this book!

*ARC Review*

This book was a rollercoaster of emotions. From the past trauma, to current trauma, poor Shyloh and Becca have been THROUGH it.

Shyloh is the charming quarterback of the Crescent City Kings and he is the biggest golden retriever. He just wants everyone around him to be happy and to like him. His growth throughout the book was admirable, especially after his career unexpectedly ends.

It’s understandable that she would be closed off - angry at the world that he didn’t get to live a full life, but also terrified that it could happen again. Her growth throughout the book was slow and steady, but I was so proud of her in the end. She deserves all the happiness and I’m so glad she realized that too.

Their chemistry was palpable from their first meeting (even if Becca fought tooth and nail to ignore it). Shyloh was constantly showing up in Becca’s world and did his best to worm his way into her life. He was eventually successful, and proved to her that he was worth it. That THEY were worth it. I just loved their relationship - their banter was amazing and the spice was 🔥. The mouth on that man 🥵 WOOF.

“𝐼’𝓁𝓁 𝓀𝒾𝓈𝓈 𝒶𝓁𝓁 𝓎𝑜𝓊𝓇 𝓉𝑒𝒶𝓇𝓈 𝒶𝓌𝒶𝓎, 𝐵𝑒𝒸𝒸𝒶.”

I was so ready for Becca and Shy’s story especially after Past The Rush they both needed this win. This can be read as a standalone but there is so much backstory especially with the accident, as well as much of the beginning is taking place during book one.

Becca is a free spirit after losing her high school sweetheart 16 years prior she does not do relationships and absolutely does not date football players specifically quarterbacks. Shy is the playboy quarterback who his whole life is football but he also the sweetest, and has an instant attraction to Becca and she is not having it. Just when we think things will grow tragedy strikes and Becca does what she does and runs.

When they are reunited you know that chemistry is still there but so is the apprehension. These two have to work for this it is hit after hit. This also deals with grief in different ways past grief, present grief, grieving a loved one and grieving a future you had planned.

So good cannot wait for Jordy’s story.

Oh man I just love when I read a book with an obsessed, golden retriever MMC. And that is Shyloh 100%. And the way this book made me laugh out loud so many times!

If you read book 1 in this series you will get a little taste of Shyloh. Being the quarterback of the Crescent City Kings, you would think Shyloh is all cocky and fighting off the ladies every day/night. He may be cocky but he isn’t like how I pictured a QB to be. I adored his golden retriever energy and just how positive he always seemed to be. Well until his accident, which that just broke my heart for him.

So when he sees Becca for the first time, I just knew right away he was going to be the one that fell first. And boy did he and hard! I do love that Becca made him work and fight for her attention. Well really she wants nothing to do with him and that is only because she has her own trauma that she still hasn’t fully recovered from over the years.

These two were so fun to read. Yes there were times when I would yell, in my head, at Becca to just give the man a chance to prove to her but at the same time I knew she had to deal with her past and get over everything in order to move forward with Shyloh.

Man am I ready for the next book! That little bit we get after the epilogue made me want more and keep reading!!

I will start by saying that I really loved this book. Once I started reading it, I couldn’t put it down. I’m really glad that I read Past the Rush first because while Reserved for Her is a standalone, the back story does start in the previous book of the series.

Without giving away any spoilers, Shyloh is the quarterback for the Kings in New Orleans where Becca is visiting her best friend to celebrate her 30th birthday. For Shyloh is love at first sight and he is doing everything in his power to get Becca to give her an opportunity. However, Becca still carries some ghosts from her past and she feels undeserving and scared of falling in love. There is obviously a happy ending and these two end up together after many obstacles and close calls.

I gave this book a 4 ⭐️ because sometimes I felt the characters were still acting pretty juvenile and rather than having open honest conversations, there was a lot of back and forth teasing. At times I didn’t know how he could be so forgiving of her or selfless but at the end of the day it was part of the story and it worked. I also enjoyed the level of spice, it was right up my alley.

I can’t wait to see what’s next in this series. Make sure to pick up a copy of this book, it’s worth it.

I started this story on what would have been my first boyfriend's 39th birthday (he died when we were 17). The lost love aspect, the what could have beens, of this story was written well and did a great job showing the impact a life event like that can have on a person. Becca's character development from that experience and watching her grow and heal through her relationship with Shyloh was beautifully written. And we can't forget the chemistry and tension between the two MCs... a nice build up that had me in the book until the wee hours of the morning!

The MCs were such opposites but made perfectly for each other. Becca's backstory walled her off from people out of fear of losing them. She kept her feelings to herself, not always open to sharing why she opted to be alone, and pushed people away. Her POV was so relatable to me. Watching her open to Shyloh and take those emotional risks despite the battle between her head and heart was inspiring.
Shyloh is the perfect book boyfriend - goofy, kind, loyal, patient, charming. Those qualities helped break down Becca's walls while respecting her boundaries. His golden retriever energy was off the charts and made him so incredibly lovable as a character!

Highly recommend this series!

Holy moly Britt!!!! I love love loved this book!!! I love everything Britt makes and she is one to introduce me to the side of sports love and i am HOOKED!!!

Now if you have read book 1 then you have met the lovely Becca which is the woman we follow in this story. Becca in high school loved Lenna's brother who had passed in an accident and left her scarred of love for a very long time. In comes Shyloh who is a teammate for Connor who starts to become attracted to Becca.

Now Becca is a very independent and stubborn woman. and Shy is a persistent but also just a golden retriever! The banter these two have is absolute chefs kiss!! This is a slow burn for sure but sometimes you just need to savor those bites instead of eating it all at once!!!! I loved how Shy helped Becca especially in her weakest state when it came to relationships.

This book i ATE up! I am so happy we got to see Becca's side and her happy ever after since we first get Lenna's! This book will take you for a ride you did not know you needed and fall in love with a guy you may of hated in book 1.

I got this book as an ARC and this is my honest review. Thank you so much Britt for making these amazingggggg books and thank you for giving me the opportunity to be able to read them!

I have been waiting for Shyloh and Becca’s story. Becca has been thru so much and is so guarded and Shyloh was the perfect person to break down those walls. He pushes when it’s appropriate and backs off when it becomes clear that she needs space to sit with herself. They both experience huge losses in their lives and get to find comfort and healing in each other which is truely beautiful. This story was filled with so many amazing moments from the heart wrenching to the hilarious.

I do wish that we had had more time to sit with the characters and their feelings in their silent moments more. They had so many big moments in this book and I think it would have helped me both feel the connection between the characters and between me and the characters to have more small moments and even just more moments of of them alone and their reflections would have helped their growth build more for me and feel more organic.

Let's meet Shyloh Mendoza your new favorite book boyfriend 😍

This book from the start has you sucked in and your emotions on a roller coaster throughout!

Becks still hasn't recovered from her trauma (understandably so) and Shy the moment he sees Becca it's love at first sight 😍.

Becca is hesitant on getting attached to another football player (especially another quarterback), but Shyloh continues on! Tragedy hits Shyloh and Becca can't handle it and goes back to California for work until a retreat trip just so happens to have Shyloh on the list. The banter between the two is amazing and you can't help but fall in love with Shy.

Becca is mean to him trying to push him away and Shy sees it as a challenge! And the mouth on this man 🥵 holy cow. If you love the following, this book is for you!

Wow!! This book was so beautiful even though it was an emotional roller coaster. It had me all over emotional lol. Even though I understand where Becca was coming from… she still upset me at times in this book. But I loved that Shyloh never gave up on her even though, I know it could have been exhausting for him. Ooof but his dirty mouth was 🫠 lol. He was so sweet to her and the other characters in the book. His relationship with Donna was so cute. I need a friend like Donna and Lenna. I also loved seeing where Conrad and Lenna were in their relationship through the book. What happened to Shyloh was super sad and was super close to home for me. Even though this book was super close to home for me, I still enjoyed it. I did have to take a break from it as well but it was good. The ending of the book made me cry I’ll be honest. Received this book as an arc in exchange for an honest review. ❤️
Ps. Super excited for the next one!!

She's avoided love for years
She's easily the most stubborn yet attractive woman.
Goodness. Miss Stark did it again I blew through this book in three days. This was a cute short football romance full of grief, love and acceptance.
Becca who has closed herself off to love. Who is still struggling over the grief of losing her boyfriend in high school.
Shyloh has worked hard to get to play on the football field only to have it ripped away.
Now Shyloh is sent on a retreat that is run by Becca neither knows they have been set up by their friends.
Honestly this was a sweet but funny but between the band train and the non-stop setup that were happening the chemistry was dripping from the pages. love that Becca fought to ignore it but shy was showing up warming his way into her life and her heart. The fact that not only were friends playing Matchmaker but also the other clients on the retreat. The spice was spicier but at the same time the same amount of spice.

This had me HOOKED by the very first chapter!! It was such a great fast paced sports romance to kick off the new year with. You can never go wrong with the charming NFL quarterback🫶🏼 We love a golden retriever with a mouth, especially when it comes to a certain sassy girl👀 The scenes in this book will have you crying and falling for Becca and Shyloh 😩🙌🏼

The way that Britt writes Becca’s grief is sooo beautiful and authentic❤️ There is so much depth and in this story since it talks about loss and healing. These moments balance so well with the love and steamy scenes throughout.

Don’t even get me started with the TENT 🏕️ I was wondering if I should put the book down to give them some alone time 👀😂

Overall this was such a great read with just the perfect amount of drama.

Britt has done it again! Reserved for Her won a 4.5/5 star rating from me! It is such a sweet story, it truly shows how true love holds on and endures. Both characters have been through so much and I loved seeing them find their way to each other. Not just emotionally but physically. Through Shyloh’s accident and then Becca’s, they can’t seem to catch a break. I absolutely loved the FMC Becca & her whole persona. She is fierce and so strong. The way she handles her grief and battles with it has you feeling all the things with her!Shyloh the MMC is a golden retriever with a dirty mouth in the best way! Did I mention he is hilarious? The banter is great. Becca & Shyloh are an inspiration for sure! The ending was the sweetest! The skunk with the butterfly on its nose had me tearing up! It was nice to see Lenna & Conrad’s story continue also! Definitely recommend!

This was my first Britt Stark book and right from the start it was so emotional that I was wondering if it was the book for me. The beginning really hits you in the feels and was so well written I almost started crying. I really loved the banter between Shy and Becca from the start and the tension between the charcters. Shy was such a golden retriever MMC with a dirty mouth 😏 and I kinda wish that Becca had gone to therapy over her past trauma since she really had a hard time getting over living in the past and learning that she could move on and be happy. She really kept self sabatoge herself. Overall it was a good book and I look forward to reading more books by this author.

If you like romance books with love after loss, and healing, let me tell you, this love is earned, and this journey isn’t easy. Then this is the book for you. I absolutely love the character development and how relatable both Becca and Shyloh are. I cannot say enough good things about the relatable mental health rep this book exhibits. I love the fact that Becca doesn’t show an easy journey for healing. She shows what it really is to mourn someone even years after they have gone. This book makes you realize how precious life is and how love truly is all we need/ have at the end of the day and that starts with ourselves and giving ourselves the permission to LIVE even when we don’t feel like it. Know you are meant to be here and worthy and loved. This book is literally so amazing that I am still in a reading slump after reading it 2 weeks later… Absolute must read!!!

Where do I even BEGIN with this book?!

Another STUNNING Sports Romance by the one and only Britt Stark😍

Becca, oh so full of spunk & sass with a guarded heart, meets Shyloh, the devilishly charming NFL quarterback with the personality of a golden retriever and the mouth of a sailor. An enemies-to-lovers tale that includes some immaculately written spicy scenes, some crying, and falling in love with these two incredible characters!

A must read for those who enjoy ✨spicy scenes✨ in a tent & questioning if you should leave the characters alone for a bit for some privacy.

A massive THANK YOU to Britt Stark for the ARC & for being entertained by my live-action commentary!

Reserved for Her by Britt Stark. GIRL…you are killing me with this book. I am so in love with your writing I know I should’ve read the first one first and then read this one probably but it doesn’t matter cause it’s a standalone book and it’s amazing. Shyloh and Becca are such a cute couple! Becca is not wanting to know love anymore, and Shyloh willing to do whatever it takes to get her to realize she can love again if she gives it a chance! Do you think she’s gonna give it a chance or is she going to push him away? You’re gonna have to read this book I promise you will not be disappointed. Shyloh makes you say if she don’t want you I’ll take you. Britt thank you for writing an amazing book and I can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

Shyloh and Becca meet at one of the Kings practices. He becomes obsessed with her but respects her boundaries. They have amazing chemistry, but it seems they can't quite get on the same page. I loved their story and at times want to smack some sense into Becca. Donna was a great friend, and I hope we get her story one day! The ending was great, and I can't wait for the next book!

This was a good and fun read. I have been waiting for Shyloh and Becca’s story. This book sucks you in from the start and your emotions on a roller coaster throughout this story

Becca, who still hasn't recovered from her trauma and Shy falls in love at first sight when he sees Becca. I just love seeing their story come together, even if it took some time for Becca to understand that she can love again. Overall, this was such a great fast pace read.

I can't wait to see where the rest of the series goes.

⭐️ARC REVIEW⭐️ Oh, Shyloh. My man was in DEEP. I really loved Becca and Shyloh together. Boy DID NOT give up. I know this is technically a stand alone book but I’m really glad I read the first book since this one gives less of a back story on the front end of the book. HOWEVER, I’m glad Becca’s history was addressed at the end to give us a little wrap up for these two.

There were two 😳😳 moments that I was not expecting in this story. And Shyloh’s golden retriever vibes were my favorite.

It’s fast-paced, great spice and some funny banter. Def recommend!

Also, I would love a Donna novella.
