A nosy neighbor, a dead body, and a heap of trouble knocking on her door.
Jumping feet-first into her next project, Davina seals the deal to buy seventeen dilapidated houses just outside Daybreak Falls in a neighborhood saddled with the nicknamed Felony Row.
But when day-one inspections lead to the shocking discovery of a dead man holding a shotgun— soon followed by cryptic warnings that quickly escalate into deadly sabotage—Davina worries she’s made a mistake, betting her financial future on a lost cause.
Despite her psychic abilities, Davina is blindsided at every turn, and as the sinister plot against them begins to unravel, there’s only one thing she knows for certain…
Someone wants her gone—dead or alive.
Book nine, Nine Wrongs - You Don’t Belong, an exciting and intriguing mystery thriller that’ll keep you turning the page.
I’ve fallen completely in love with the characters in this series, but the recent books have been a bit disappointing. The first book was absolutely the best—one of my favorite books, actually. It had everything: gripping storytelling, incredible character development, and that psychic magic that made it so special. Unfortunately, the more recent books have been missing that spark.
In this installment, I really wish Davina would use her abilities more. The story felt slow and uneventful for the majority of the book, with the excitement only picking up in the last 30% or so. While those final chapters were great, it was hard to stay invested during the earlier parts.
That being said, I’m still looking forward to the next book. I’m hoping it brings back the magic and intrigue that made the first one so unforgettable. This series has so much potential, and I truly want to see it shine again.
I love this series and this book is a great addition to it. The characters kept me entertained the whole way through the story. I really don’t want to leave these characters. This comes after the trauma happens in book 8. Davina is trying to get over her fears from the kidnapping. She gets right into the thick of it when she buys the houses where the outlaws stayed and finds out not everyone wants the neighbor to improve. There is mystery surrounding who is causing the trouble and why. The a mystery man appearing. She is traumatized and trying to hold it together and with all the shenanigans related to the new development, it is difficult. One good thing about this is her friends and family truly make this story special. Highly recommend this book and the series. There is a bit of a cliffhanger when the mystery man comes round at the end. What does he want, who is he and who is he connected too. Enjoy the book!
Nine Wrongs You Don't Belong by Kaylie Hunter - (Davina Ravine Psychic Crime Thriller Book 9)
This book is not a stand alone book; in my opinion, this series needs to be read in order. Davina is still trying to cope with the aftermath of the trauma she encountered in the previous book, while also dealing with sabotage/vandalism on phase one of the huge construction project she is determined to get started. There is a large cast of characters and we get glimpses of what is going on in their lives. The maybe romance of Stone and Davina is a non starter in this book and there is a mystery person who makes contact at the end of the book setting up a (maybe) explosive confrontation in the next book. I was engaged with the characters and story-line while reading this book, but for me this book reads a bit like a filler/set up for the next psychic crime thriller story line.
I was disappointed with this book I have followed this series and loved it but this book didn’t really hold u to The others in my opinion Davina I found weak and annoying at times,I like a stronger heroine,I became confused at times with so many different houses/garages to be renovated pulled down I am no builder ! I love Stone and would love him to find some happiness in his life I can’t see it being with Davina as she pushes him away at every opportunity to Time and time again I fear he is going to get hurt, her friends don’t appear to gel with him poor guy, I will probably read the next book though
This one bothered me because Davina isn’t dumb. She has resources but in this book she doesn’t use them. I mean she can have her friend do background checks. She is so tired but then she wants to live her life in some aspects she is hypocritical. I just thought this could have been written differently and the main character not seem so distracted.
Saving and her crazy crew are truly a delight. I have read everything Kaylee has written. Such a great character builder, you feel like you know these people. I laugh, I cry, and I hurt for each of them. Can not wait for more!
Good read, but I would have liked to see more of Davina psychic abilities since the series started out that way. Also, more Stone interaction. I do enjoy the series though looking forward to the next one.
I needed a switch in genre and I enjoy this series. It took me a wee bit to get into but once I did I could not put it down. I’m going to dive into the next book. I’m so intrigued.
