Getting stuck in an old cabin is not my idea of a great winter vacation.
Getting stuck with Carson makes me wonder what I did do end up on Santa’s naughty list.
My friend Noelle talked me into going on a group vacation with our friends. Then she sprung the news that her boyfriend is joinig us ... with his friends.
I’ve met these guys. You know that ape man on the insurance commercials? Gage, Mitch and Carson make that missing link look sophisticated.
I’ll be fine. I brought my Kindle, and we’ll be hitting the slopes. I’ll barely notice Carson and his abs--wait, he has abs?
Carson’s definitely a “man’s man”--all grunts and banging the chest while watching sports games with his bros. He’s not my type. Not at all.
When Carson and I are assigned to run into town to get supplies together, I experience a whole other side of him.
And now I’m completely questioning my first impression.
'It's a little vacation infatuation. It's harmless. And, like the snow outside, all of those sensations will melt away when I leave this mountain.'
Suuuuuuure. Whatever you have to tell yourself :)
Readers, get ready for a wintery, quick-read! Will I read everything Savannah Scott writes? Yes. Have I LOOOOOOVED everything I've read from Savannah Scott? Also, YES!
This romance is so cute. I loved the friendship vibes, the winter cabin setting, and watching this romance happen! It has the perfect amount of back and forth tension and flirting to make it believable and enjoyable.
Two thumbs up from me for this one!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
I LOVE A GOOD FORCED PROXIMITY SITUATION Y’ALL! Add being snowed in and I’m here for a good time. . Pick this story up if you love: Holiday romance Novellas Snowboarding “adventures” Open communication Grand gestures Fun friend groups S’mores Charades Karaoke . Carson & Alyssa were a cute couple, and I enjoyed reading their story. Watching them fall for each other while trying to say “it was nothing” was funny because everyone else could see what was happening. They fit well with each other and I loved that they had open communication.
I really loved the epilogue!
3.5/5 stars

This is a funny and sweet snowed in with friends novella. A bad first impression, he falls first, and plenty of forced proximity make this the perfect treat to sneak in between the busyness of the holiday season!
Last year I had no idea what to expect when Savannah Scott said she wrote a Christmas novella in such a short span of time, this year when she was at again, I got worse than a kid on Christmas morning waiting to hear more details! The sequel is here, and it doesn’t disappoint even slightly!
When Alyssa is begged to come join the fun at the remote cabin with her bestie and good friends, she’s on the fence! When she finds out her bestie’s fiancé and his friends coming – she refuses! Through some clever persuasion, she reluctantly heads up the mountainside! Dorito Dust man and his buddies arrive with overly cheesy grins as the mini vacay gets underway!
Carson aka Dorito Dust man is every bit as hesitant to go on the mini vacay as Alyssa, but the sight of her definitely softened the blow! The vacation turns out to be one of the craziest adventures he has ever undertook! Between grocery shopping for an impending snow-in, going snowboarding for the first time, and making smores Carson is completely thrown off-guard the more time he spends with Alyssa! But when you go into a weekend still firmly rooted to the idea of lifelong bachelorism and a pretty face keeps making you smile like a fool, something is bound to give!
This book is as much of a whirlwind to read as its plot and still no complaints! This book is the holiday pick me up that you need to get out of your reading slump or just the right amount of warm fuzziness that makes you feel the whole day through! Bravo on hitting another amazingly delightful holiday novella out of the park! These Waterford novellas are the perfect gift to yourself and will make you wish it was Christmas every day!
Catch Yourself a Snowmance is the perfect holiday novella with all the romance and laughter that’s expected from Savannah Scott’s writing! True to form, this is the second novella in the holiday series, but can be read as a stand alone. I read Rent Yourself an Elf first, but I think this one is my favorite!
Alyssa reluctantly agrees to a weekend with her friends and Liam’s (Noelle’s fiancé) friends, one of which did not make a good first impression on her. However, first impressions are not always what they seem, and Alyssa quickly realized she was wrong about Liam’s best friend, Carson.
Carson has proclaimed himself the perpetual bachelor, and his first impression Alyssa wasn’t the best either. But being cooped in a cabin for a few days has a way of changing people’s perceptions and attitudes, and it allows you to get to know someone much better. MUCH BETTER!
Alyssa and Carson inexplicably begin to feel drawn toward each other and their chemistry becomes undeniable! I loved the banter and humor between these two and how they just felt at ease with each other. There were so many hilarious scenes between these two, but I don’t want to give too much away. Just trust me!
My favorite quote: “There are certain people in the world who just put you at ease. Maybe they don’t put everyone at ease. They probably don’t. But there’s some sort of chemical reaction between their personality and yours. You can do or say anything around them. They’ll sweep up the mess, sort through what you said or did, keep what makes sense and let go of the rest.“
*I received an ARC of this novella. All opinions are my own.*
Ok. First, you know it's a great author when you start reading the book with a smile on your face. And when it's as good the second time around as it was the first? So much the better!
I'm not going to give a long review for this one; that would end up longer than the novella! But here are a couple of my takeaways: -I love the honesty that Carson and Alyssa have with one another. They aren't out there playing games. They're adults who are acting like adults. -What strikes me in particular about this book is the difference between men and women. Their conversations, thoughts, feelings in comparison to ours.
So in short, I love this novella very mush.
~I was given a complimentary copy of this book. No positive review was required, and all opinions are my own.~
Catch Yourself a Snowmance is the second book in the Have Yourself a Merry Little Romance series. While those who have read the first book will definitely love catching up with Noelle and Liam, I do think this could be enjoyed as a standalone as well.
One thing that I know when I pick up a Savannah Scott book is that it will never be short on heart OR humor... and this is just another fun example of that--- with loads of holiday cheer on top of that! Liam and Noelle (from Rent Yourself an Elf) are getting married, and they want their friend groups to spend some time getting to know each other before big day so they book a luxurious cabin... but as in all good romcoms, it turns out not to be quite the getaway they expected. This was such a fun holiday read. Carson and Alyssa had such an easy and natural chemistry between them---despite her less-than-ideal initial impression of him. I loved how they just naturally seemed drawn into each other's presence... they just felt so right for each other. It was a quick holiday read, but felt packed full of sweet moments, holiday cheer and moments that had me laughing out loud... like an accidental cuddle that--- well, you'll just have to read it for yourself to find out!
Catch Yourself a Snowmance is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
Loved this one! Such a fun, quick Christmas read! Loved all the flirting!
Carson and Alyssa were adorable and sweet together. Once they got over their initial impressions of each other, they had such an ease to their relationship. They had such a cute, honest relationship with each other and were able to communicate even after conflict.
Love their friend group too and getting to know them all better in this novella. Now I want a smore after reading this one, IYKYK!
It’s a busy time of year- so to bring in some holiday cheer a short, sweet, and happy book will do the trick. This one has it.
A weekend at a luxury cabin with friends, (and friends of friends) sounds like fun. That is, until you’re downgraded to an old cabin, and a massive snowstorm keeps you holed up for days. Your initial impression of the guys is not very positive- this could be a long weekend. Sometimes though, spending uninterrupted time together helps you get to know them better. Way better. However, dating outside of your friend group is a hard fast rule for you- things go poorly for everyone otherwise.
There are fun Christmas movie quotes at the beginning of each chapter. The whole vibe is fun and positive. No drama, no miscommunication- just happy people making the most of a crazy situation.
“No regrets. We all choose our paths, and we can’t choose them all. So, embrace the ones you choose and make them the ones you’ll never regret because you made the most of them.”
“Making her happy has become a sort of mission for me.”
Catch Yourself a Snowmance is everything that we know & love from Savannah Scott. A little sequel to Rent yourself an Elf, we got to fall in love with Carson & Alyssa while up in yhe show in a cabin with friends. It was cute, sweet and I loved the epilogue! (PS - there is going to be a 3rd next Christmas!)
A perfect Christmas Novella, I loved this sweet snowed in at Christmas with your friends, find the one in the middle of it story. The way both Alyssa and Carson care for each other is fantastic and adorable. Unsurprisingly for this author, the pace is perfect, the characters have just the right amount of depth of character and the storyline is well developed.
Catch Yourself a Snowmance was such a fun Christmas novella! You could easily jump in and enjoy it on its own if you haven’t already read Rent Yourself an Elf. However, if you did read that first book in this novella series, you will love getting to see both friend groups from that novella appear in this one, as well.
I loved the way Alyssa’s first impression of Carson quickly changes as she spends a little time with him. Very early on in the novella, these two end up getting to know each other while on a grocery run. Neither is looking for a relationship, but they both find themselves drawn to each other all through the vacation week.
Carson and Alyssa were extremely likeable characters and I loved seeing them discover new things about each other as the week went on. Just like the first story in the series, this novella was a read that made me happy.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Another cute little snack of a book by Savannah Scott! Noelle and Liam are going to get married and they want their friends to get to know each other better. They get snowed in at a cabin and quickly realize they mesh really well together. It’s a whirlwind sort of romance but it’s super sweet!
Like Alyssa, I also enjoy my s’mores with a Reese’s cup as the chocolate! 🍫
Favorite Quotes: ‼️ “With the right one, you discover something deeper than needing someone. Like, your life was good, but suddenly it's infinitely more, all because of this man who fits you and your life just right. It's worth waiting for the right one."
❤️ “No regrets. We all choose our paths, and we can't choose them all. So embrace the ones you choose and make them ones you'll never regret because you made the most of them."
🪦 His shirt rides up, exposing a six-pack. That six pack will be the death of me Here lies Alyssa Buchanan, killed by the most beautiful set of abs she's seen in years.
seriously so good. the perfect holiday snack novella
Oh. My. Goodness. Every time I open a Savannah Scott book, it’s the best thing I’ve ever read. It takes Noelle a bit to convince Alyssa to join her and Liam on a friend’s trip to the mountains. Alyssa doesn’t like Liam’s friends as they made a less than stellar first impression. They don’t have much time before a big snow storm hits, leaving them locked in the cabin for a few days. That’s plenty of time for Carson and Alyssa to get to know each other, and to overcome some dorito dust. The chemistry is instant, and it’s obvious to everyone. This sweet novella is a perfect wintery afternoon’s read. Or evening. Or morning. Devour it whenever you open it. Whenever you decide to read, this sweet closed door romcom with a forced proximity trope is sure to put a smile on your face and warm your heart. (You might need some fuzzy socks for your toes, depending on the weather. And don’t forget the supplies for s’mores. You will get a craving.)
A few of my favorite quotes “Do you want to kiss a snowman?” *sung like in Frozen
“It’s not just being locked in the cabin. It’s not the way she stayed with me while I flubbed at snowboarding. It’s not the late night chats, or the way she feels in my arms. It’s all of it. It’s her. I’ve got it bad.”
“I’m too tired. Morning sheds new light on problems that seemed overwhelming at night”
“The scruff at the end of a day, or when you’re taking a day off shaving over a weekend. I don’t know what it is, but I love it.”
I love a good novella, so I was so excited when I learned Savannah Scott was writing another Christmas novella. I mean when you combine Savannah’s fabulous writing with a holiday theme and pack them both into novella sized romance you strike gold. Catch Yourself a Snowmance was everything I was hoping for and more. It had all the banter, romance, and humor that you expect from Savannah packed in a perfect little package.
This novella focuses on Alyssa and Carson. Alyssa’s best friend, Noelle, is marrying Carson’s best friend, Liam. Alyssa’s first impression of Carson is not the best—she thinks he is an oversized frat boy. When Noelle and Liam plan a ski vacation so their friends can get to know each other, Alyssa has no interest in going. After Noelle convinces Alyssa to go, she finds herself spending more and more time with Carson. The story that follows is fabulous. Things to love: -dual POV -forced proximity -Noelle, Liam, and all their friends -Carson kissing Alyssa’s hand like he is a gentleman from a historical romance -the snowboarding -the mistletoe kiss -all the banter -Liam’s advice to Carson -Carson and Alyssa’s walk -the epilogue
Alyssa and Carson were so good together. I loved how their connection developed, especially when they both had sworn off love. It was so fun to see them fall.
I adored everything about this sweet novella. It is going into my yearly rotation of Christmas books to reread every year.
Catch Yourself A Snowmance by: Savannah Scott @savannahscott_author
“When I wake each morning, she’s on my mind. When I go to sleep, she’s my last thought.”
~Getting stuck in an old cabin is not my idea of a great winter vacation. Getting stuck with Carson makes me wonder what I did do end up on Santa’s naughty list…
“But now, I discover new pieces of you all the time, and each facet only makes me like you more. I’m in this place I’ve never been before.”
-Catch Yourself A Snowmance, is such a quick but snowy-fun story packed with such snowy delight! You get all the feels of falling into love and dear first love. Friends, there is wonderful swoony moments, such humor, and sparks of chemistry! I love that there is such heart and lovely holiday charm filled within the pages of this little novella. Sprinkle in a winter cabin setting, forced proximity, good friends, games, yummy food, just the right touch of tension and flirting, cute romance, and a dear ending, making this adorable story, worth the read!🙌🏻📚❄️✨
“You’ve turned my world around. And I’m amazed. You’re one of the best people I know. I can’t keep my eyes off you. And now that I’ve found you, I don’t want to imagine my life without you. I love you.”
We’ve all heard the phrase, “Never judge a book by its cover.” Well, how about “Never judge a man by the amount of Dorito dust on his shirt!” LOL
This was such a sweet little novella, bite-size if you will at just over 100 pages. It’s perfect for the busy holiday season. I sat down and had this read in two hours.
Liam and Noelle are marrying soon, and their dream is to have all the groomsmen and bridesmaids in their wedding get the opportunity to know one another and form friendships before the big day. Noelle has an incredible, gorgeous cabin snow trip planned out. Bonding time!!! However, plans soon change when the cabin is undergoing emergency renovations. The group of friends is forced into a less-than-ideal situation with an old run-down cabin instead. Noelle’s friend, Alyssa, had to practically be dragged by her feet to go on this trip as it was. Alyssa was under the impression this was going to be a girl’s getaway, so when she found out that Liam was bringing his guy friends along, she lost all excitement. Especially when said guy friends includes Carson, Dorito dust boy – UGH! Haha Nothing a little forced proximity can’t cure. 😉
A cabin, a massive snowstorm and a “flurry” of sweet and funny moments that will melt your heart.

This is the second novella in the have yourself a merry little romance series. You can read this novella as a standalone but if you have read Rent Yourself an Elf there are recurring characters included which makes it fun. Reminder this is a novella so it is meant to be short and sweet. I thought this book was super cute and funny. I loved getting to catch up with these characters and getting to know Alyssa and Carson better through their story. This is a mix of frenemies to lovers and opposites attract.
Alyssa is friends with Noelle from the first book and Carson is friends with Liam from the first book. Noelle and Liam invite each of their friend groups on a Christmas cabin vacation in hopes to get their friends more familiar with each other. Alyssa has a preconceived view of Carson that is not great after meeting him one time before. Now the cabin vacation is derailed by a snowpocalypse. Will Alyssa and Carson grow to like each other? You will have to read it to find out.
This is a super cute, quick read with the best holiday vibes! The story put a big smile on my face!
I have always loved the idea of a snowed in cabin! It is my absolute favorite thing when a story includes one and it was done so perfectly here. I enjoyed the forced proximity it brought that helped Carson and Alyssa grow closer after her first bad impression of him. The stocking up with supplies at the grocery store for a few days inside was made so fun with the vacation rules talk and favorites game Carson and Alyssa played! They were just the sweetest, real couple! The sweet glances, shy smiles, all the flirting. Honestly it was magical! They brought back the feelings I had when my husband and I first started dating. Loved the friend group and all their different personalities as well. Mitch definitely had me laughing a few times!
This one will give you all the warm, cozy feelings and have you wanting a s’more by the time you're finished. Don’t miss it!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I loved everything about this sweet novella. I especially was hooked on how naturally the romance progressed, the honesty, and the friendship vibes. It had the perfect dash of flirtatiousness, too! Coming from someone who drew in (and ended up marrying) someone who was a self-proclaimed bachelor - I adored seeing Carson progress from the self-proclaimed bachelor to a man making it his mission to make Alyssa happy.
You can alwayss count on Savannah Scott to give you a healthy dose of friendship, heartfelt moments, and humor.
Another adorable Christmas romcom novella from Savannah! While Liam and Noelle’s story is still my favorite, Alyssa & Carson’s story is a very close second. The two friend groups going skiing together and getting snowed in, reminded me of my favorite Designing Women episode where they get snowed in at a ski lodge with their significant others, so I loved that plot element! The chemistry between Alyssa and Carson was sweet, And I liked how their relationship developed. Very cute read!
I confess- I am a solid fan of Savannah Scott's writing, so I am eager to read her books as soon as they release--- but I would be real if something didn't measure up. I am kind AND truthful.
That said, I have nothing but good things to say about this book. I enjoyed the slow warm-up between the two-- which wasn't really that slow in terms of time, but more in terms of their willingness to follow their feelings & dealing with their concerns. And by warm-up, I don't mean spice...just acknowledgement. I loved how they allow themselves to enjoy each other while not defining the reason for a bit of time... they were sweet to each other, and that was lovely! Minimal angst, which I can appreciate during an especially stressful season of my life. This was a lovely, wintry escape!
I am 💯 behind every book this author writes and this little treat is perfect to give you all the cozy vibes.
The skinny: Alyssa heads to a cabin with her friends. And her bestie’s boyfriend brings along his friends. One has been seen wearing Dorito dust so she’s not impressed.
The fat: Carson almost makes me want to eat Doritos. He’s adorable and being in close quarters has him looking at Alyssa differently. And falls in the snow to prove his distraction. It’s charming. You will wish for a cabin and muffins. And a warm fire.
The rhyme: Carson is totally ok living the bachelor life with his chips. But Alyssa starts to melt the snow he’s standing on and now all he thinks of is kissing her lips.
Looking for a quick and sweet Christmas read to put you in the holiday spirit? This book right here will do the trick.
A snowy getaway in a fabulous mountain cabin, yes please!
Alyssa’s friend Noelle and her fiancé Liam want to have a friends getaway before their wedding. Plans unexpectedly change when the fabulous cabin they reserved turns out to have a water leak. Unfortunately the smaller “rustic” cabin next door is now theirs.
Alyssa is now in close(r) quarters with Carson; a friend of Liam’s who didn’t give her the best first impression.
A trip to town for groceries with just the two of them leads to each of them changing their opinions of the other. Alyssa sees that Carson is kind and charming and she realizes that she judged him too harshly in the beginning.
Carson sees himself as a lifelong bachelor. He doesn’t think he’s the settling down type. But the more he gets to know Alyssa, his opinion on that starts to change.
This group of friends is so fun. From playing Charades to some serious s’mores making that’s going to have you craving some of your own. I loved the hilarious snowboarding and how easy going Carson was with it.
Carson and Alyssa were just so cute and flirty and have such an easy connection.
“There are certain people in the world who just put you at ease. Maybe they don't put everyone at ease. They probably don't. But there's some sort of chemical reaction between their personality and yours. You can do or say anything around them. They'll sweep up the mess, sort through what you said or did, keep what makes sense and let go of the rest. Carson does that for me. And we can be still together or talk for hours.”
Although this is a short novella, there’s no lack of chemistry, romance, or fun. Nothing feels left out or incomplete. It’s the perfect Christmas pick me up.
Thank you to Savannah Scott for the copy. All opinions are my own.
Oh my stars! This Christmas romcom totally put me on cloud nine! Words are failing me y’all! I cannot even begin to describe just how much I loved this story! Alyssa is a fantastic heroine, and Carson is a very swoon-worthy hero! I loved watching them get to know each other. Girl, the romantic tension between them was palpable, and when they finally kiss it just might melt your snow boots! This absolutely delightful story gave me all the timeless cozy Christmas feels, and I wish I could live in this book! This story was so much fun I forgot I was reading! I also loved the Christmas movie quotes at the beginning of each chapter, so fun! This story felt like a warm hug for my heart! I could not stop smiling while reading it, and it will forever live rent free in my head! I seriously adored absolutely every second of this enchanting story! Catch Yourself a Snowmance is a Christmas romcom masterpiece, and it will always be one of my all time favorite Christmas books! I most highly recommend this one as well as Savannah Scott’s previous Christmas book, Rent Yourself an Elf which is also absolutely fantastic!
I received a complimentary ebook copy of this book from the author. My review was not influenced in any way. All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own
When first impressions are not great, Alyssa and Carson are reluctant to spend a few days in a cabin together with some of their close friends.
When plans don’t go exactly as anticipated, Carson and Alyssa find themselves spending lots of time together and getting to know one another. Soon they crave spending time together, but there’s no way things can become more. Or can they?
This was such a sweet novella with chemistry through the roof. I loved the dynamics between Carson and Alyssa and the antics from the friends group. Grab this book for a low drama, sweet, snow-filled, laugh-aloud read. Savannah Scott always delivers with the romance, humor, and depth.
I am a big audiobook listener and thought this was very well done! It's dual narration and both the female and male narrator did an excellent job capturing the feel of the characters. As usual, listening really made this book better for me!
This is the second book in the Have Yourself a Merry Little Romance series. It is a kisses only contemporary romcom novella. It has a standalone story, but Noelle and Liam are in this story often. It is a very quick read. I am not a fast reader, and I finished it in a couple of hours.
I had to think a bit on how I wanted to rate this book. At first I was trying to compare it to the other book I had finished reading the same day as starting this. Then I realized that wouldn't be fair because they are different types of books even though they are both contemporary romcoms that take place during the holiday season. This is a novella that is a light and cheery read. You aren't going to get deep themes or big messages, but you will get an entertaining couple of hours and a break from reality. As that is the goal for this story, I think it accomplished that well.
I usually read Savannah Scott's books as ARCs, but I didn't think I had the time available when this one was ready. If I'd known it was going to be such a quick, easy and enjoyable read, I would have applied. Instead, I waited for publishing and then purchased my copy.
Snowed in at a cozy cabin, good friends, roasting marshmallows, karaoke, snowboarding & a darling romance! This book had it all from the bad first impression meet cute to sweet sizzling kisses! I loved this adorable novella with all the winter feels.
When Alyssa’s friend Noelle invites her to a friend vacation at a cabin in the woods, she reluctantly agrees. After all, Noelle is trying to matchmake her friends with her boyfriend Liam’s friends & Alyssa knows that’s a recipe for disaster. Carson’s in the same boat. He narrowly avoided a falling out with his guy friends when he broke up with his girlfriend & has declared himself a perpetual bachelor.
When these two meet, it’s not exactly love at first sight, but a trip to the store for needed supplies before the big snowstorm changes everything when they find they have so much in common. Soon they’re searching each other out & experiencing so many fun winter activities together. But, what happens when the snow melts & they return to civilization again?
I loved Alyssa & Carson! Their cute romance was so delightful & naturally progressed from attraction to genuinely falling in love. I enjoyed their easy & open communication. The friendly banter, cooking nicknames, & laugh out loud situations had me grinning from ear to ear!
This is the perfect Christmas novella! It’s a feel good, easy to read in one sitting dose of cheer that’s great for the busy holiday season. It definitely got me in the mood for Christmas & I loved the swoon-worthy epilogue.
This delightful, sweet, kisses only romcom is part of the Have Yourself A Merry Little Romance series. It can easily be read as a standalone, but I definitely recommend reading Rent Yourself an Elf too. Now I can’t wait for Gage’s story! I received an advanced complimentary copy from the author but also purchased a copy through Kindle Unlimited. All opinions are my own & voluntarily provided.
