This the first book I've read by LaKeisha and I'm ready to hunt down her whole collection. If you start this book, make sure you ain't got nothing else to do for a while 'cause you won't be able to put it down, trust me I tried. You're gonna love Ryce. She's such a pure-hearted person with blinders on. She sees the good in everyone so she's good to them, but not everyone deserves her kindness, especially her husband Desmond. He never loved her, he was only after one thing and now that he's so close to getting it, most of his secrets done fell out the closet. Like how you hide your secret family in your wife's rental property? He better stop while he's ahead 'cause he don't want to get on Sahil aka Grim's bad side. Reagan will be alright if she eat that chip off her shoulder. I don't care for how she's treated Ryce, her sister, when all she ever wanted to do was get to know her. Then even in death she keeps Kian on a pedestal when the dude didn't deserve to stand on gravel. All his dirt and secrets comes out years after he's gone. Now will she believe all the evil that he did and finally let him go? She better 'cause Sergio is coming to claim what's his. I don't know what he gonna do about his fiance tho and I can't wait to find out.💞💞

But for the love of all things good SEPARATE BOOKS like it’s already a series SPLIT THESE CHARACTERS UP. Like yes they all interconnected but we lose important story telling by tryna cram multiple characters with BIG ISSUES into one story.
Reagan was dealt a tough hand, the product of an affair which I feel like ultimately led her to those feelings of inadequacy and left her vulnerable to terrible men. Like Pastor is dead wrong for neglecting his child for his wife, like if you stay with a cheater then you gotta take it on the chin. I didn’t like her too much because she was doing Ryce dirty for no real reason. Now I don’t really fault her for not telling her about Desmond but in the same breath I do think she should’ve said something like if Ryce ain’t believe her so be it. The Sergio tie in is crazy and I really would rather her have her own story. Like she’s in a bad place and I really wanna see her get right but it’s hard to really get into it when we focusing on her, KJ, Sergio, her mama, her daddy all of it is a lot and would be better suited to a whole book for her.
Ryce our good girl, pastors daughter wholesome and kind. Her naivety is was is causing her the most stress and strife. Like I get wanting to love your sister and stay out of it but she really lacked consideration for Regan’s perspective. Like you got to live a happy and healthy life with a well developed relationship with your fathe. Sure ya mama hell on wheels but she don’t know what it’s like to not have her dad nor feel abandoned so thinking that Reagan should be open and ready to love her is a little crazy. Like I appreciate her maturity but it’s a lil delusional. I hated how she let Sahil get her out of body like I’m sorry girl you ain’t notice ya ring gone all that time and you letting that man insinuate things GIRL GET UP, you locked in with the lord and he ain’t got a sprinkle of strength to give you SISTA PLEASE. Her situation with Desmond was sad but also pathetic like girl the body is tea, you get your own bag, ya daddy gonna have ya back and you chasing a negro named Desmond baby that’s too close to Demon get him back to hell where he belong. I also think it was dumb for her to kiss Sahil at work like girl the divorce not final, it barely been processed HAVE SOME SENSE.
Now onto Sahil and Sergio, they got too much going on as a unit and separately. The issues with they sister and Courtney and the whole who’s tryna ruin the empire is a lot. I personally don’t really like how that portion of the story is told because it’s too much we the reader don’t know. Like yeah we can see Courtney was a snake but now we gotta figure out who he’s in cahoots with, why they was preying on each others sisters? Who Sergio’s fiancée is and how all that’s gonna play out. I’m sorry but that’s ALOT FOR 216 pages like baby this a murder mystery with a splash of hood. The romance not really hitting just yet.
Finally the whole Mistress vs Mrs. Pastor daddy/drug lord sub plot is a lot too cus damn pastor the lord ain’t give you a drop of sense? Sure Denise wrong cus her and ole girl was friends but if you can hate that lady then hate that man too Mrs. Pastor. Overall this is a whole lot of story, mess and drama. While it’s well written I do feel like the author did the readers a disservice.

Whew this s**t is messy. After witnessing her fiancee Kian getting murder in front of her. Reagan is heartbroken but Kian wasn't a angel. He seemed more like the devil the more information is being revealed. It seems like everytime Reagan turn around. She's finding out Kian wasn't the man she thought he was. When Reagan saw Jalisa and Desmond together. She should've told Ryce. At the end of they day they're sister's but Reagan was in her feelings being that she is their father side child and Pastor Jackson wasn't really in her life. Crazy thing is Ryce have always tried to have a relationship with Reagan but Reagan had always shunned her. Ryce is a sweetheart and didn't have a clue that her husband Desmond was a low down and trifling ass n***a. Desmond don't love Ryce and never did. She had something that he wanted. Desmond thought his secrets was going to stay hidden until he had access to Ryce trust fund and I'm glad it backfired. He was scandalous as hell for having Jalisa and his son living in Ryce old condo. You can tell from the beginning that Sahil was smitten with Ryce. At first I believe it was because she favored his wife that was murdered but now it seems deeper than that. Had Ryce listened to the hints Sahil threw out about Desmond. She would've learned long ago how dirty he was doing her. After finding out his secrets and seeing Desmond true colors. Ryce have finally taken off her rose colored glasses but Desmond isn't letting go that easily. I was seriously disgusted learning that Ryce college friend Tamia who is also her divorce Attorney have slept with Desmond when they were all in College. It's going to hurt Ryce when the truth comes out about Tamia and Desmond. I also believe that's why Juanita have a problem with Tamia because she knew Tamia snaked Ryce. It's going to be interesting when Ryce, Indigo, Juanita, and Tamia get together. Desmond wants Ryce money that he isn't entitled to but he definitely better tread lightly because Sahil isn't to be played with. Sahil will protect Ryce with his life. It truly seems like almost everybody in Ryce life have skeletons. After Pastor Jackson revealed he had a trust fund set up for her and Reagan. He left out the fact he had another side to him and where that money really came from. Both Reagan and Ryce mother's gave me a headache. First lady still bitter about Pastor cheating but her taking her anger out on Reagan is something I can't get with. It's not Reagan fault. Reagan mother bitterness come from her being shunned for the church years ago but it's her fault. First Lady was her best friend and she's the one who betrayed her. Both women need to let that hurt go though. Something is up with Courtney. such a good book!!! I need to read book 2 immediately. I'm so happy Ryce put her foot down and was finally able to see Desmond for the loser he really was. He did her so wrong but I was gagged when Sahil pulled up and let him know what it was. Literally took Ryce in front of him lol- that was funny. I was disappointed in Reagon because even thought she was entitled to feel how she felt with her daddy's affair, and the result of him having another daughter that was treated better, she still had no right to resent Ryce the way she did when Ryce wasn't to blame for their fathers actions, and Ryce STILL tried to be there for her sister even though she kept getting treated unfairly. So when she found out about Desmond, I think she should have told Ryce period! All in all, it was such a good book and yeses hurry with book 2 because Desmond must not really be out of his mind!

This wasn't just good! It was great!🤯🤭 It was a masterpiece! LaKeisha is a phenomenal author. This was well crafted. It was entertaining and we were pulled deeper and deeper into the webs of lies and deceit!! Wow, 😳 it gets crazy. Tighen your seatbelt and be prepared to go on this rollercoaster of highs and lows as secrets are revealed. I'm running 🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️to part 2. I need to know what happens next. Sahil is super mysterious and Sergio 🥵🥵 man.. the scenes with him and Reagan??? Wow, I'm excited to see how their steamy connection develops. I felt so sorry for Ryce. Both sisters are laughingstocks but I hope they get the last laugh! Reading this felt like I was watching a Drama TV series. It's so good!

I really HOPE Ryce doesn't give in and goes back to Desmond because he's a bipolar maniac! I hope Ryce and Reagan can mend their relationship and move on. Hopefully all of Desmond's secrets are revealed so Ryce and fully move on and he doesn't get a dime!! I'm sorry and it may just be me but Reagan getting on my nerves acting like that with Sergio especially when he's telling her Kian wasn't who she thought he was and that DNA test shows she's been living in denial. I hope everything works out for her. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I don't know what to say about this one.
But I'm intrigued on how the next book will take me down a rabbit hole of end in a good way. Either way I am here for all of it. I just hate both of the sister's are so naive and oblivious to the things around them. Its kinda like saying no matter how your life turns out. You can go through the same bs any woman can, that has less than you. Well lessons are lessons no matter where you're in life.

I will say that the story took off and page 1 an didn't stop...great pace
The weaves and webs for all the characters inter locking together was a bit much at times and most of the characters tapped on my last nerve...however I enjoyed this story and will be awaiting book 2

Good stuff! These are characters are definitely on my nerves, but it's a really good read. Honestly, I love reading about Reagan and Sergio more than cry baby Ryce and the bully Sahil! I know this is only the beginning, so I'm looking forward to jumping right into book 2!

They too naive for me!

I enjoyed the first book of this series. The characters are well developed and the storyline has been well fleshed out. Personally, I think Regan needs some character growth and hopefully we see that in the finale because she is working my nerves lol. Love Ryce!

I loved this book! If I had not had to go to work, I would have read it straight through, cover to cover! I loved the characters, I loved the storyline! The Coleman brothers are the truth!
I loved this book! If I had not had to go to work, I would have read it straight through, cover to cover! I loved the characters, I loved the storyline! The Coleman brothers are the truth!

I could not put this book down! Sahil grab my attention from the beginning of this book and has held it to the end. Now I think that he has gotten Ryce attention, I’m so geeked. Reagan and Sergio got me flipping through the Pages also. Yessss

I enjoyed reading this book. Desmond is a real POS and can’t wait for him to get what’s coming to him. I can’t wait to see the sisters relationship get stronger and see everything come together in the next 2 books. Ready for book 2.
