Strider I shouldn’t have taken Jasmine to my bed. But I did, for the obvious reason. In my head, she became mine, but someone else had a prior right to me, so I couldn’t claim her. I hurt her, though I never intended to. It’s just that my life is, complicated. Thinking my love for her was one-sided, I let things go on. When my brothers forced me to read the damn book she wrote, I knew her feelings for me echoed mine. And that I had to shut them down. The trouble was, I stopped reading half-way through. When I realised it was too late, she was gone. If I’d known earlier, I might have been able to save her.
Jasmine I fell for Strider. At first, I went to his bed just to gain the protection of his club. But when he refused to let any others touch me, then I started to hope he was mine. He was everything I’d ever hoped I’d find in a man. I ignored the fact I wasn’t free, that someone else had a claim on me. Surely, an outlaw biker wouldn’t care? But when Strider showed me how he could never be mine, I ran. I was naïve. I thought I was safe. But my past caught up with me. Strider would have protected me, but he has no idea where I am.
Manda’s life's always seemed a bit weird, starting with a childhood that even today she’s still trying to make sense of, then losing her parents in the late teens. Going from the tragic to the bizarre, who else could be unlucky enough to have had two car accidents, neither her fault, one involving a nun, and another involving a police woman?
There isn’t enough space to list everything that’s happened to Manda, or what she’s learned from it. But by using the rich fabric of her personal life, psychology degree, varied work experiences, and amazing characters she’s met, Manda is able to populate her books with believable in-depth characters and enjoys pitting them against situations which challenge them. Her books are full of suspense, twists and turns and the unexpected.
Manda lives in the beautiful countryside of Essex in the UK, the area’s claim to fame being the Wilkin’s Jam Factory at nearby Tiptree. She can usually find jars of jam which remind her of home wherever she goes. As well as writing books and reading, Manda loves walking her dogs and keeping fit. She lives with her husband of over 30 years, who, along with her son, is her greatest fan and supporter.
Manda is thankful that one of the more unusual, and at the time unpleasant, turns her life took, now enables her to spend her time writing. Confirming, in her view, every cloud has a silver lining.
The dude was married to his high school sweetheart who was dying of Pick’s disease. He’s been screwing the h for 2 or 3 years, she had no idea he was married. She got pregnant and he blamed her and forced her to have an abortion. A prince I tell you.
No OW/OM drama other than both of them are married but hers was a forced marriage and his wife had been wasting away for 10 years. She was catatonic by the time the h found out about her so no direct drama.
No sex scenes with any OW or OM.
They are only with each other once they start sleeping together.

5 stars OMG! What a ride! I absolutely loved this book and its intriguing darkness. It’s a real page-turner and a deeply emotional and heartbreaking tale. Strider’s Misstep is an apt title for this complex story filled with betrayal, pain, mistakes, misunderstandings, tension, twists, and much more. This is the story of Strider and Jasmine. When Jasmine, originally named Katrina, feels she has no choice, she leaves. However, now that Strider has her, she knows she will disappear. Her past and present collide, but not in a good way. Strider may be the president of the Wretched Soulz Motorcycle Club, but he is still human. His past grief has made him emotionally shut off when it comes to matters of the heart, to the point where I wanted to smack him upside the head and hug him at the same time. Unfortunately, he may have waited too long to make things right. I loved that we got to spend time with some favourite characters from previous books. If you love hot, sexy men, motorcycle clubs, strong, kickass women, danger, and action, then Manda is your go-to author!
She started her life over, hiding in the bikers world. She caught the eye of the president. She was ready to be a bunny, but, Strider without claiming Jasmine made her offlimits to the guys. Until he messed up. Jasmine, devastated by his actions disappeared off the grid. In hiding from her husband's cruelty and from the love of her life, she became an author. Reading a behind the scenes life of an author through her eyes was an eye opener. Loved it. Jasmine thought she was safe. Can you guess what happened when the husband found her first? I'm not spoiling it for you. Be prepared. Will the love of her life be in time to save her?. I can recommend this book. 5 stars plus. Because it is very well written.
I loved this MC romance with all of the secrets and twists and turns. To say this was a page turner doesn’t do it justice. Strider is the Prez of the Wretched Soulz MC and Jasmine is hiding at the club for protection.
Strider makes sure everyone knows that Jasmine is off limits. When he won’t claim her, she takes off only to have her past catch up with her. Will Strider get to her in time? I loved this book and cannot wait for more from this author.
I loved this book! Read it twice! A great twist to the usual dynamic. At the risk of maybe a slight spoiler, it was great to have some real girl power in the storyline, instead of a damsel in distress being saved by the men. Good to See Helo making an appearance again too! Loved the strength of character that Jasmine showed. More than a match for Strider. All in all a great story, with a couple of good twists from a fab author – keep them coming.
This is the first book I've read by this author and I loved it. Strider and Jasmine's story was so good I couldn't put it down. It had everything to keep you entertained and suck you in. The chemistry was great and it was well written.
This is the 3rd book in the Wretched Soulz MC series. I really love these stories and am never disappointed by what this author offers. The stories are so well written, they all have characters with pasts that are affecting their futures, dangers, twist and turns and the unbreakable bond between the men and their wife's of the MC club. This is the story of the club president Strider and Jasmine.
Jasmine has had a pretty bad start in life. After being sold to a mob boss to pay off her father's debt she is subjected to a life of abuse and violence. That is until she is given a chance to escape. She finds herself on the doorstep of a MC club where she knows she will get protection. What she didn't expect was to catch the eye of the president. Even though she knows nothing can come of their relationship she finds herself in trouble when she falls pregnant and falls for Strider.
Strider can't deny what he feels for Jasmine however he is married and his circumstances mean he has nothing to offer her. After taking Jasmine to meet his wife and trying to explain his situation he is left heartbroken to find out Jasmine chooses to leave.
After his club members tell him he needs to read the story she has written he is shocked when he realises the story is about them and that she has fallen for him. But as shocked as he is about that he is even more shocked about what else is revealed. Is everything in her book true? Now she has left the protection of the MC club is she now in danger, a danger which could cost her life. Now it is a race against time for Strider to find her and stop anything happening to her and also time for him to finally admit to himself and Jasmine that he has fallen for her too. But will his words and actions be too little too late.
Manda Mellett once again delivers an intense, emotional, and action-packed MC romance with Strider’s Misstep, a gripping story of love, regret, and second chances.
Strider, a hardened and loyal biker, makes a mistake that costs him the woman he didn’t even realize he was in love with until it was too late. Jasmine, seeking both protection and love, believes she’s found it in Strider—until he pushes her away. Their love story is filled with tension, heartbreak, and a deep connection that neither of them fully understands until circumstances threaten to tear them apart forever.
Mellett does an incredible job of weaving together Strider’s internal struggles and Jasmine’s desperate bid for freedom. Strider’s tough exterior hides a man who cares deeply but is bound by obligations, while Jasmine is both strong and vulnerable, navigating a dangerous world where love might be her only salvation.
Mellett’s storytelling is raw and immersive, pulling readers into the dark and gritty world of the Satan’s Devils MC. She excels at portraying flawed but deeply human characters, making it impossible not to root for Strider and Jasmine despite their missteps. Themes of redemption, loyalty, and love in the face of danger run strong throughout the book, keeping the tension high and emotions even higher.
Strider’s Misstep is a compelling addition to Mellett’s MC romance collection. With well-developed characters, a fast-paced plot, and plenty of steam and suspense, it’s a must-read for fans of the genre. If you love emotionally charged, second-chance romances with a biker twist, this book won’t disappoint.

This author never fails to deliver an excellent MC romance. The characters are so real and relatable.
In this story, Strider is too buried in his guilt to realize what is in front of his face. He is tied to his past with a wife that probably shouldn’t be still alive. Unwilling to move on with his future, Strider manages to hurt the one woman that could not only be his partner but a true wife.
Jasmine has been through it. She wouldn’t tell you but there is a dark story there. After meeting one of the other MC wives who was saved by a romance book, Jasmine decided that she had something to say and started writing MC romances fictionalizing her life with the guys. Except she reveals too much about herself in one of the stories. It leads her past back to her.
Although a wonderful story, this one is missing some of the tell-tale markers of this author. There is not a whole lot of steam (which was missed) and the drama missed its normal anxiety-inducing, heart-beat-increasing tension. This one still goes on the shelf dedicated to the shelf for this author in my heart and my library but it is low on the favorites list.
Still can’t go wrong with a MC Romance by this author!!
Strider's Misstep is book three in the Wretched Soulz MC series. It is an MC romance full of action, tension, misunderstandings, drama, suspense, emotion, angst, chemistry, passion, loss, love, betrayal, secrets, lies, and violence. The story centers around the characters of Strider and Jasmine. Strider is President of the Wretched Soulz Motorcycle Club. His character is one that you want to feel empathetic towards, but at the same time he can be quite maddening. Due to trauma and grief from his past he has up a wall around his heart to prevent himself from any further heartache. Jasmine was sold to a mob boss to pay off her father’s debt. She was subjected to horrific abuse and violence until she was able to finally escape. Although she seeks protection from her abusers, Jasmine is no damsel in distress. She ended up on the doorstep of the Wretched Soulz MC club where she seeks protection. Jasmine catches the eye of a Strider who decides to make her off limits to the guys. When her past catches up with her it is up to Strider to save her, but can he save her in time. Another great story by this talented author who never fails to deliver a story with grit, passion, hot bikers, and twist twists and turns.
Just looking at Strider I’ll become his “old lady “😉🤣🙈🥰but once I got to know him I was ready to just throw myself at his feet 🤣
Strider has a thing for Jasmine and she was like the forbidden fruit and now that he’s had a taste of her he’s addicted but she’s out of bounds or is she !?
Jasmine was hooked at the first taste as well but she’s not a free agent so to speak but there’s a moment where she feels she’s his but then life happens and she runs but she’s in danger and doesn’t know where she is but don’t underestimate this man he’ll find her ….
My heart shattered for Jasmine but she’s a phoenix and rises from the ashes and hurt which speaks volumes of her character , she no fading fall flower that’s for sure
Strider might belong to an MC and no matter what anyone thinks or tells me these men are not as hardcore and they pretend to be and more often than not they’ve survived life and it’s hard blows , not unscarred however and that’s why they are the way they are , keep that in mind 😉
There’s steam 🔥, angst , suspense , fear , heartache , tears and oh my gosh moments and it’s one of those reads that when you finish , you close your kindle /book , breathe , blink and do it all again 📕❣️
This book is absolutely fabulous. I love reading Manda Mellett's books because the characters are well-developed. She creates her characters, storylines, and plots profoundly and well. Strider's Misstep is no exception. This book reels you in on the first page and won't let you go until the story is finished. Even then, you crave the next book in the series.
The twists and turns kept me glued to the edge of my seat. When I read what Jasmine had been through, my heart broke for her, and her strength in the face of betrayal and heartbreak is admirable. Not many could have shown such strength.
Life has dealt Strider a few blows, which fills him with guilt and makes him look at life a little skewed until he realizes he'll lose out if he doesn't take action.
It was a pleasure to read about Halo and Chaz again. I like it when characters from other books appear; it makes the story feel more connected.
This book contains Betrayal, Heartbreak, Love, Kickass women, Hot, Sexy men, and plenty of Action.
I must give Manda an extra 5-star rating for the scene with Jasmine and Halo; it was so well written.
Running from the life she knew, she stumbled upon a club house for the Soulz. The only thing she knew about bikers was that they protected their own, and that’s what she needed at the moment. Her only goal was to do whatever needed to ensure her safety and avoid being found by her abusive husband. Immediately Jasmine caught the eye of the MC’s President, Strider, which left her off limits to other MC members. After facing some life altering changes, their relationship changes, leaving Jasmine with a lot more time on her hands. She started writing smutty romance books and they quickly caught the attention of other members, who were curious what she was always doing on her laptop. The last book she wrote caused some of the presidents’ closest friends to have somewhat of an “Intervention” with him. This led Strider to reveal some of his personal life with Jasmine, although it did not have the effect he was hoping for and led Jasmine to disappear from the club house.
Will Strider be able to find Jasmine before her husband? Will she be able to remain hidden from her abusive husband or will ?
This was my first book by Manda Mellett and I cannot wait to read more!
Strider’s Misstep is the third book in the Wretched Soulz MC Series by Manda Mellett. This again sees Ms. Mellett firmly in her wheelhouse, delivering another superb MC romance with all the emotion, angsty drama, action, intrigue, dynamic characters, chemistry, steam, tense developments, secrets, tension, betrayal, heartache, violence, and danger that I now associate with her name. This is my favourite of this series, so far- but I say that every time a new book comes out- because they are all so good, choosing a favourite gets harder and harder. This is Strider and Jasmine’s story- and OMG my heart was all in with these characters. There were more than a few tense moments that had my heart in my mouth…. But Ms. Mellett definitely made all the angsty and heart-wrenching moments worth it in the end. If you love a really well-written, riveting MC story- with complex, quirky, loveable characters, and an intriguing storyline- then this is definitely the author/book/series for you- so, limber up your one-click finger so she takes you on an emotional ride… Looking forward to more of the series! Happy Reading…
I’m always excited when a new book comes out by this author! This story is another page turning MC romance in this exciting series. It was great being back with the Wretched Soulz MC, and once again I felt fully immersed in their world. When Jasmine goes to the Wretched Soulz MC for protection she soon finds herself in Strider, the clubs prez’s bed. Jasmine is confused when Strider won’t let anyone else touch her but also won’t claim her as his. However, although Strider couldn’t claim Jasmine, as someone else had a prior right, he did think of her as his. Realising that Strider will never be hers, Jasmine leaves the MC and it’s Prez behind. On the run once again she soon finds herself in danger when her past catches up with her. Back at the Club Strider discovers why Jasmine needed the protection of his Club and realises he needs to find her, and fast. I was hooked from page one reading this MC romance which is full of drama and suspense. The chemistry between Strider and Jasmine sizzled off the page and resulted in some steamy scenes. I’m already looking forward to the next book in the series and to being back with the Wretched Soulz MC!
This book is by an author that I never hesitate to pick up. She is my go to for MC stories for sure. I enjoy how this author can use their creative details to not only pull me into the story but bring life to the story. The characters are spicy and written with a lot of heart and soul. This is the story of Strider and Jasmine. Their story is one where there is something between them but each had someone that could stake claim to them. When they both realize that they share the same feelings, it could be too late for them. What happens between these two is something you don’t want to miss. I enjoyed their characters and how loveable and connectable they are. They have not only great growth throughout but also their chemistry is off the charts. I enjoyed what they brought to the story. They made it easy and entertaining to read. It is a fast paced, hard to put down story. I really enjoyed reading this must read story. I look forward to seeing what is next for this author. I highly recommend this book.
This book is amazing. It grabbed me on page one and didn’t let me go! Manda Mellett is an extremely talented author and I can’t wait to read more of her work.
Strider’s Misstep by Manda Mellett is part of the Motorcycles, Mobsters & Mayhem series. The story is told in alternating views of Strider and Jasmine. Jasmine fell for Strider but after realizing that he could never return her feelings she left the safety of the clubhouse. Strider soon realized that he was in love with Jasmine and had to fine her. As the club frantically searches for Jasmine, they slowly uncover who she really is. Katrina James was forced to marry mobster Barclay Astir as part of the payment for her father’s debt. During a visit with her father at his office, he provided her with a way out of the abusive life he’d forced upon her and she took it. Katrina covered her tracks really well and stayed hidden for three years but her budding writing career was the mistake that allowed her past to catch up with her. It was up to Strider to find her before Barclay could torture her and kill her.
This is third installment in the Wretched Soulz MC series dives deep into the complicated relationship between Strider, the club's president, and Jasmine, a woman seeking safety and a fresh start. The story captures the rough edges of MC life while exploring themes of trust, second chances, and the consequences of past mistakes. Strider is a complex character — loyal, protective, but stubbornly blind to his own feelings. Jasmine's strength and vulnerability make her easy to root for, especially as she tries to reclaim her independence. What stands out is Mellett's ability to weave emotional tension into the action-packed plot. The push-and-pull dynamic between Strider and Jasmine feels authentic. While this book works as a standalone, reading the series in order adds more layers to the characters and their relationships. This was a gripping blend of danger, passion, and redemption that will leave readers eager for the next ride. I definitely have to go back to read the previous ones.
In this book diving into the Wretched Soulz motorcycle club universe, we get to know Strider and Jasmine.
The book reels you in right from page 1 with their love story. Originally, Jasmine slept with Strider because she needed protection from the club. When they had a great time together and Strider didn't let his brothers share her, Jasmine dared hope he was claiming her for his own...but boy does Strider need a smack upside the head! While they both have intense feelings for one another, neither speaks up of course.
It was after Jasmine left that Strider really read her book and realized she was feeling all the things he was feeling. Will he be able to catch up to her before they lose the opportunity to be with one another forever?
The Wretched Soulz world is so engaging and mixes passion with partying, heartache and hard headedness, romance and suspense. The world and the characters within it are beautifully woven together and keep you on the edge of your seat.
I thoroughly loved this book, I could of read it in one sitting if I had time, it was so tricky to put down and get on with real life.
Jasmine has a past, one that is cold and full of pain, both physical and mental. She rebuilds her life after the shocking death of her father and her escape from her nightmare.
Strider, the Prez of the MC does not want to admit his feelings for the broken young woman who has made herself indispensable to the club. There is lots of chemistry, secrets and questions that keep you on the edge whilst waiting to see how the tow will move past their issues.
Attending an event as an author Jasmine is re embroiled in her previous life, the introduction of ‘Helo’ and ‘Chaz’ Prez and his old lady from another MC chapter bring more heat, lots of mystery and strength to the story.
If you like your MC hot and a story line that keeps you hooked, then this is a series for you.
Wow wow wow!!! Strider's Misstep is part of the Wretched Soulz MC and Manda is one of my favorite authors. This story of Strider and Jasmine was such an emotional roller coaster of a ride...as this story was full of drama, secrets, heartbreaking discoveries, grief, painful pasts with twists and turns along the way.
Jasmine aka Katrina seeks refuge with the Wretched Soulz MC while trying to flee a bad marriage along with a very bad situation. Strider, whom is the president of the MC, never expected to feel protective over Jasmine as he has a past of his own. When Strider decides to be honest and open a bit with Jasmine, this causes some feelings and Jasmine decides to try and keep low and head out on her own....but will Strider be able to protect Jasmine when she needs him the most....
This is a great read...if you love a good MC Story I can say this author NEVER disappoints!!
Strider's Misstep: Mayhem Makers: Wretched Soulz MC
I loved this book for so many different reasons, but I think the biggest is the mentions of Motorcycle, Mobsters and Mayhem signing which I will be attending in a couple of weeks and I cannot wait.
Ms. Mallet is anything but a new to me author, have read so many of her books and loved each and every one of them.
Jasmine & Strider's story was anything but boring. They deal with a lot in their relationship, some things were surprises and I loved each one.
Jasmine was born into privilege but her life was anything but great. Things go downhill from there until she meets Strider.
Strider the president of the Texas chapter of the Wretched Soulz has more going on in his life outside of the club which causes problems with Jasmine.
I hated putting this book down when I had to work or sleep, but I'm a little sad it's done.
Can't wait to see what she releases next and to get a chance to meet her in the Dallas area.
Strider’s Misstep: Mayhem Makers: Wretched Soulz MC By Amanda Mellett 4 Stars
This book is based on the Texas Chapter of the Wretched Soulz. Jasmine walked in as a club girl but Strider took her for himself. They’ve always been casual neither speaking of the future nor demanding anything from the other. Jasmine fell in love anyways so when Strider started pulling away, it hurt. There are things in Strider’s life preventing him from having a future with Jasmine. When he tries to explain it to her, she misinterprets and decides to leave with her head held high. Problems from her past catch up to her and put her in danger. Can Strider find her and protect her in time?
I love this authors books. She pulls you in and doesn’t let go. You invest in her characters to the point where their heartache is your own. This story is a drama filled biker romance and is a great addition to add to her collection.
5 Stars Strider’s Misstep: Mayhem Makers: Wretched Soulz MC By Manda Mellett
Strider's Misstep is part of the Mayhem Makers: Wretched Soulz MC. This is a MC Romance that I absolutely loved reading. It’s packed with drama, secrets, painful pasts, romance, and so much more. Just when I think this author can’t outdo herself she goes and does it. Each book gets better and better. I say this every time but this just might be my favorite yet. Strider is the President of the MC but for some reason is very protective of Jasmine. Strider has a past he just share with everyone. Jasmine is pretty much hiding out as she found herself in a bad situation. Strider decides to open to her about his past and it causes it’s own situation. Can Strider keep her safe? Will they get the ending they both deserve? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m always looking forward to reading more from this Author.
Manda Mellett proves she knows how to deliver with this MC romance. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for every shoe to drop as I was reading this book. This was not as smutty as I thought it would be and the plot was attractively executed. Katrina has dealt with adversity in her life and embraced becoming lost to those looking for her, successfully going off grid while seeking protection. Strider can’t shake the guilt he feels to show Jasmine she is everything he has ever wanted. They may eventually find their way to each other, if they can take care of everyone standing in their way. The spice is delicious and the banter and anticipation leading up to it are devine. I enjoyed reading this story and I’ll read more of Manda’s stories… If I can ever get through the rest of my TBR.
Strider's Misstep: Mayhem Makers: Wretched Soulz MC by Manda Mellett. This is another great addition in the Mayhem Makers series. In this book we meet Jasmine and Strider, Jasmine has come to the club looking for safety and when she sees Strider and he claims her as his own she doesn't bother to tell him she already belongs to someone else. Strider falls for Jasmine quickly but doesn't really think Jasmine feels the same so when Jasmine takes off to protect Strider from her past he thinks she is gone for good. Strider has been hurt in the past and closes his heart off easily and thinking Jasmine doesn't like him, he lets her go. Bad communication or no communication is their failing. When Strider is given a story Jasmine wrote about her he realizes he was wrong. Will he be able to get Jasmine back and more than that will he be able to save her from her past?
This author never disappoints. Another incredibly well written MC novel. The characters were all well developed. Even if you haven’t read the other books in this series, you still understand the plot. Reading the other books first helps you gain a better understanding because there are so many references to prior characters, but it is not necessary.
I absolutely love when a woman turns a “tough guy” into mush. The twist and turns in this story will keep you hooked until the very end. I also thought Jasmine as a character was unique. She is of course the love interest of Strider, but beyond that she is an up-and-coming author.
As I said before, this novel was very well done. It is easy to follow, fun to read, and kept me on my toes until the very end. I highly recommend to any romance lover.
So many times I wanted to shake Strider. As Prez we expect him to be able to use his words, to make his intensions and feelings known. Unfortunately from this story we discover, hes human. He makes mistakes, pushes the wrong people away. Uses the wrong words and phrases. Jasmine hid her past, believing if shes didnt use Katrinas name, her history wouldnt catch up to her. Not only that but by hiding with the Souls, the Mob wouldnt look for her there. Her history certainly caught up to her, but shes not the meek mouse her ex remembers. Shes stronger mentally and has a family at her back - even if she doesnt expect it.
The story of Anna is heart breaking and while most of Strikers feelings and actions make sense, I still wanted to knock some (or a lot) of sense into him.
Jasmine is on the run from her abusive husband and hides out with the Wretched Soulz MC for their protection. Strider has taken Jasmine to his bed, but not claimed her. He has his own secrets that keep them apart. But when things come to a head, he may lose her before he ever really had her. Jasmine has changed over the years and I love seeing her strength and independence. Strider had his reasons for acting like he did, even if I didn't agree with him, but I wished he had to do more groveling. Great HEA. And I only realized when reading this story, the Wicked Soulz is the MC we've heard about in the author's previous stories. Somehow it makes the story even more rich to me.
It feels like it had been far too long since I had read a book by this author so I was beyond excited to start reading this one. I was pulled into this book as soon as I started reading. It has everything I have come to expect from this author – amazing and strong characters, and an exciting storyline that takes you on a wild journey. I loved Strider and Jasmine. They really didn’t have an easy time but, for me, that made them more relatable. The author knew exactly what to do with the story to keep me interested. As with all of her books, I had to read this book in one sitting because I simply could not put it down. This is a fantastic book, an amazing series and I am really looking forward to whatever is next from this author.
