Gaven, the laird of a magnificent castle in the Scottish Highlands near a loch and a quaint village, is arranging a wonderful New Year ball. Romance is flourishing in the village, and everyone is looking forward to the exciting event.
Laurie, a handsome and successful singer songwriter is taking a creative break in one of the luxury cabins on the castle’s estate to work on new songs for his forthcoming album. He’s recently bought a new house near the castle and it’s being refurbished to include a music recording studio.
The crafting bee ladies hold their last bee night of the year at the castle and have made housewarming gifts for Laurie.
Laurie is dating Sylvia. She works with her aunt, Muira, at the local sweet shop. But Sylvia has a talent for playing the piano, and Gaven invites her to play the castle’s baby grand piano at the ball. Laurie agrees to sing and play his guitar too.

Love all of De-ann Black's books! I read all as they come out. They do not disappoint.
